Reviews for Amalfi Residence
Review 1:Stairs......there was lots of them.....but the entire area of Italy is exactly the same wherever you go. Bed was very firm but it actually did my dodgy back some favours.
Review 2:Marianna and Luigi were absolutely brilliant hosts. So accommodating....they really couldn't do enough for us. The property was really bright, clean and well cared for. Lovely view too! Facilities were great. Breakfast every morning was lush! Aircon! :) Great wifi which was handy to stay in touch & make arrangements with our friends who were staying in another hotel further round the coast. We used their 'driver' (Ronato?) to take us into Amalfi & Positano (both about 15/20 mins drive away) & pick u up at night to take us home......lovely guy and a good careful driver....not like the crazy rides we had with some of the taxi & bus drivers out there! Without doubt I would recommend the Amalfi Residence as a fab place to stay & at a great price! We will be back :)
Review 3:The bed is pretty hard but the view and service by the owners made up for it. The towels are pretty rough as well but who cares when you have a view like ours!
Review 4:This place is a true gem! The owners could not be any more accommodating. They made you feel as if you were a guest in their home. They arranged transportation to Amalfi and Positano for dinner, our excursion to Capri, and transportation back to the train station in Naples. The view is outstanding right on the sea and the breakfast is fresh and delicious. The room is extremely clean.
Review 5:There isn't espresso machine. Except for the restaurant nearby there is nothing in walking distance. The bed was hard. Lots of stairs with the luggage, and when returning at night.
Review 6:The staff is nice and very helpful, and the room is very clean. Smells great! The room is big. Amazing view!
Review 7:Difficult to get down to sea other than local bus 2-3 times per day. Driving down is difficult to park in August. No problems out of season.
Review 8:Lovely views across the coast from balcony. Room was very spacious and clean.
Review 9:The breakfast was fine, but is outside on a very large balcony in a way that always somebody was sitting in the sun. It would be better if their was more shadow.
Review 10:Overall we had a very nice stay with very friendly people who reacted very positive on any request. their is very near (400 m) a very good restaurant.
Review 11:The steps to the room are bit hard
Review 12:The owner was very helpful. The view was excellent and the breakfast was also nice. Easy access to Amalfi and Positano.
Review 13:The string was perfect for us high up on the cliff face and away from the noise of the lower road. The apartment was well appointed and serviced every day. The host and his team were fantastic.
Review 14:The bed was small and uncomfortable. The towels were old,too small and of poor quality. The shower pressure was very weak.
Review 15:The view is amazing. The apartment was beautiful though it was an upgrade and the original one was small and not worth the price. The stuff was very kind and did it best to make our stay pleasant.
Review 16:We didn't have a car so took the bus to local towns. On the first day however we decided to walk into Amalfi - scenic, but it was hard on the knees! I personally do not mnd it I don't see another hairpin bend for up to 12 months...!
Review 17:The apartment was very clean, Luigi was very friendly and helpful - this included a free trip by car into Amalfi early one morning that he insisted on when we needed to catch a boat to Capri. Scenery in the area is spectacular and the local restaurant were equally friendly.
Review 18:Nothing.
Review 19:The place delivers. The views are awesome. The staff are awesome and friendly. Don't underestimate the importance of the parking. Wifi excellent. Communication awesome. Honestly couldn't have been better.
Review 20:Too far from anything..needed to rely on buses which done everyhour orattempt thrv700+ steep steps. Even the bus, coming from positanodirection would drop you off at bottom and you'd need to walk up thesteps, but from amalfi it would drop you closer and a 10 minute walk orflat surface. Also, hotel was listed as a spa hotel implying there isspa/pool facilities, however upon arrival it was discovered it isnot and we'd have to pay 10 euros each to use a pool in anotherhotel about 5 mins drive away. This is a quite location with nothingnear by, but need car, good fitness or reliance on buses to get around.
Review 21:Excellent hosts - lungi the owner and his wife were very pleasant andvery accommodating. Luigi goes out of his way help to make your stay agreat one. Nice clean spacious apartment with terrace and amazing viewsof the sea.
Review 22:Stairs ... lot of stairs. But it's worth the view :) Really need a car to move around..
Review 23:We were on honeymoon there, It was just perfect. Hosts are very kind, breakfast is super, the view from the room is extremely good. I will recommend.
Review 24:All was perfect! Grazie to the owners of this beautiful residence! Sure we come back, and I just can suggest this lovely place to all, which want to see the Amalfi Coast! Ciao Sonja&Cesare
Review 25:Room would benefit from a ceiling or other type of fan.
Review 26:Modern spacious room with own balcony looking over the water. Breakfast was incredible. Very personable and helpful hosts. Would HIGHLY recommend this wonderful retreat.
Review 27:We love everything about Amalfi Residence. It has very quiet location with absolutely wonderful view.At the same time you are 15 min drive from Amalfi or Positano.Very beautiful beach around and probably one of the best restaurants few steps away.Marianna and Luigi are great and they help with everything. You need car unless you are keen on walking and have lots of patience to wait for bus.
Review 28:Could occasionally hear the odd chair on the breakfast area above us being moved around in the morning. Other than that, really can't fault it at all.
Review 29:Beautiful decor in a spacious apartment with stunning views. Lovely, friendly staff who were very helpful & were there waiting for us to check-in after a long drive, even though it was late. Decent parking, on-street but tucked away nicely from road unlike many other places on the Amalfi coast. Free wi-fi. Best breakfast during our stay in Italy.
Review 30:It's possible to get around Conca dei Marini on foot, but if you plan to move around a lot, it would make sense to hire a car. The apartments come with parking spaces included.
Review 31:Our recent stay here was delightful. The place is both pretty and spotlessly clean. It's set amid terraces of lemon and fig trees and traditional village houses, and has magnificent views of the Mediterranean. Our apartment was comfortable with stunning views of the sea, and had traditional decorative tiling. It came with its own private terrace. For breakfast, there were fresh pastries, including the famous 'sfogliatelle Santa Rosa' (Conca dei Marini is the birthplace of these delicous pastries), as well as a breakfast buffet. The hosts, Marianna and Luigi, are lovely people and did everything to make our stay a good one.
Review 32:Location in that you REALLY needed a car to get around/to there and there was only one restaurant and store nearby. Not great for emergency purposes. I wish they would've warned us about the gazillion steps!
Review 33:Room was great with a lovely balcony. Breakfast was delicious. WiFi was great to have. Staff was great.
Review 34:If you don't have a car, it can be a little difficult to get around as there were limited bus services.
Review 35:The owners were very friendly and helpful, their home baked pastries for breakfast were delicious , the views from our balcony were breathtaking. We were in the last apartment which also had our own private courtyard. The apartment was spotless and serviced daily. We had a very relaxing and excellent stay at Amalfi residence.
Review 36:Great hosts-helpful, discrete, with a lot of charm. Delicious breakfast (do try the espresso with the lemon zest). Beautiful rooms with amazing views (we liked it so much that we spent the first day almost only on the terrace of our room). The village itself is perfect for those wishing to escape the touristic crowds omnipresent in the Amalfi area. At the same time all the bigger coastal cities (Amalfi, Positano etc.) are easily reachable by bus. There is a supermarket and a great restaurant (with delicious fish and frutti di mare dishes) 10 mins walk from the hotel. As for the beach, there are various options: you can walk down the stairs (or take a bus) to the beach in Conca or go to a great private beach (transfer is included) recommended by the hotel.
Review 37:We had a wonderful stay at Amalfi Residence. Marianna and Luigi help you organize your daily trip, either by scooter or boat or just relaxing at the beach. The breakfast is delicious. The kindness is outstanding.
Review 38:Very friendly owners accommodation fantastic location lovely breakfast everyday and appartment cleaned every day
Review 39:Stairs
Review 40:Very nice room, good breakfast, nice staff and beautiful view
Review 41:A little remote if you don't have your own car.
Review 42:Absolutely delightful area, extremely friendly & helpful staff, beautiful suite.
Review 43:Bed was hard
Review 44:Location, large room, staff and the view
Review 45:The breakfast / Coffee
Review 46:The view is so beautiful, the location great, and its a very clean place!
Review 47:a little off of beaten path
Review 48:The manager and staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast and views were great, very affordable
Review 49:Such a friendly and helpful host. He had lots of local knowledge on the Amalfi coast with places to visit and how to get there.
Review 50:Very helpful. Delivered the accommodation promised.
Review 51:A little inconvenient but you'll get peace and quiet.
Review 52:Beautiful balcony view
Review 53:I really like everything!
Review 54:The place was beautiful, and they were so nice!!
Review 55:GPS sent us too far up the hill. Keep an I out for signage for the property.
Review 56:Waking up to amazing vistas, great touring advice, wonderful breakfasts.
Review 57:Beautiful room with excellent amenities, Marianna's breakfast was amazing!
Review 58:Small kitchen (in a wardrobe!)
Review 59:Quiet and good views. Good breakfasts
Review 60:Access was a bit problematic. Lot and steep stairs.
Review 61:* Wonderful view . * Great location . * Breakfast quality and location good.
Review 62:Nothing!
Review 63:The facility is a three stars hotel but the way you are treated by Marianna and Luigi makes you feel you are in a sever stars! Marianna gave us good advise on what to see to make the most out of our weekend there.
Review 64:The walls are very thin meaning that the host family noise above resulted in interrupted sleep and no sleeping in past 7.30am any morning. This took the edge off a wonderful stay.
Review 65:The views were idyllic. The location away from the main villages was really good with several excellent restaurants and a minimart within walking distance. We felt quite spoilt by Maryanne each morning as she served a great breakfast on the top terrace. We felt that this was a great location.
Review 66:Driving on the roads on the Amalfi coast is a bit insane, but unless you take the bus it's a necessity - and if you stay in Conca di Marini you almost definitely need a car. This can be a bit stressful though fun at the same time - you'd better be a good driver (and have a good navigator with you). Towns like Positano are posh, almost too posh - and a bit touristic - but overall the Amalfi coast is very beautiful and quaint.
Review 67:Amalfi residence had beautifully-decorated, spacious rooms with a great view of the Medeteranean Sea. Hosts Luigi and Mariana were very accomodating and helpful with recommendations for activities and restaurants. Conca di Marini is a quiet town located between Amalfi and Priano, which is nice if you're looking for a relaxing vacation.
Review 68:The Amalfi Residence was incredible. The view as you walk through the apartment was unbeatable. The apartments are great value for money and the hosts are welcoming and friendly. The village is very quiet which makes it about 30% cheaper than the neighbouring towns to eat out which is perfect.
Review 69:We liked everything. If you want to stay there you have to have a car, as well as be fit enough to climb up stairs leading to the house.
Review 70:Perfectly clean and nicely decorated, a million worth sea / panoramic view, very kind and helpful staff, ideal location if you want to have a tranquil rest. A restaurant/pizzeria with an excellent food and sea view is not far away. Mouthwatering warm and fresh pastries for the breakfast.
Review 71:We came here for the first part of our honeymoon... at first I thought it was a little further out of the hustle and bustle... but we soon realised, the peace and quiet, Amalfi Residence brings, was just what we needed. The views are out of this world. Staff were lovely, breakfast was really nice and they generally couldn't do enough for you. Excellent place to stay!
Review 72:Friendly owners, lovely bedroom flat, clean, good mattress. Bathroom was always very clean, as the whole apartment. Excellent location (though one must not mind walking up stairs) great sea views. Lovely breakfast on the sun terrace overlooking the coast.
Review 73:One minor thing - would have liked to have a screen door for the balconydoors. We left the doors open while we were in the room and while thebugs were not horrible, a screen would have been nice.
Review 74:Marianna and Luigi were very nice hosts, and the breakfast each morningwas wonderful. In a quiet area on the coast, a little away from themadness of some of the popular coastal towns. Had two restaurants and asmall market within easy walking distance. One restaurant hadspectacular views, great service and excellent food (we did not try theother restaurant). Parking was free, just off the road beyond thebuilding. For those who cannot handle steps, you need to stay in one ofthe big towns. Anywhere else along the coast, if you want a quiet areawith great views, you will need to deal with steps. The climb up or downis always well worth the effort. This is true of the Conca dei Marinibeach area, which has restaurants and boat rentals available. You canmake a great day of one climb down the steps there. My wife & Istayed 5 nights in early July, never needed a/c (which wasavailable) - we loved the place!
Review 75:Nothing at all
Review 76:Fantastic view! A warm welcome, with a nice clean room. Good breakfast, with fresh bread and pastries. The stairs to the residence are not an issue if you have regular capabilities. A small village but with a very nice restaurant within 10 min walk.
Review 77:kitchenette could be a little bigger but i see they've tried to minimise the space it uses.
Review 78:very clean and neat. staff and owners were very lovely and helped us out wherever they could. loved walking around the area as it's peaceful and beautiful. close to shop and restaurant and close to drive to the major highlights of amalfi coast
Review 79:Amalfi coast us beatufull with positano nearby. I stayed two nights and needed not to visit sorrento which we originally intended to. Once your hike the steps to the room everything us perfect. Good hot water and although no parking in facility we had no trouble parking car just outside residence.
Review 80:I am very much excited with Amalfi coast. During several past visits in the area I have stayed in various places. In this one we experienced nice comfort of the quiet residence and very friendly hosts. It was also nice to have private car parking.
Review 81:The Amalfi Residence was a charming and hospitable hotel nestled above Amalfi. We very much enjoyed our stay here. However, it needs to be said that it is a fifteen minute drive down to Amalfi along narrow, winding roads which we saw as somewhat of a drawback particularly at night. There are public busses, however the last one is 9pm from Amalfi. Fortunately there is a great restaurant round the corner from the hotel, so we were able to eat out in the evening.
Review 82:It could be difficult to drive if you take the wrong way up.
Review 83:Host couple is very friendly. We really enjoy our vacation in Amalfi coast.
Review 84:Beautiful views, helpful staff
