Reviews for Hotel San Miniato

Review 1:the italian post code took my satnav to SanMinato Basso about a mile from SM Alto and the Hotel. Foriegn Postcodes are gross. I recommended they list their latitude and longitude from Google Earth. The web photo is of the back of the hotel!!

Review 2:Web booking simple Facilities are smart Staff are polite Price was nice

Review 3:Breakfast coffee was not so good, but it was possible to order extra coffee...free!

Review 4:We booked room for 3 nights, using the hotel as a base to visit places in Tuscany.(We didn't wont to stay in Firence city hotel but more in nature). Great hotel on top of a hill, great views. We had a room in the dependence building, which was back near of the main hotel. Lovely and clean room, size perfect. Also with a beautiful view. Bathroom big. Bed comfortable. No extras charges for a dog. Parking place directly and free. Wlan ok. Bteakfast also ok. Stuff helpful and friendly. Lovely small town,3-4 min walk to old town.

Review 5:A little too noisy throughout corridors.

Review 6:A very pleasant surprise... this hotel was superbly comfortable and well placed.San Miniato itself an absolute gem.

Review 7:No complaint...great experience.

Review 8:When we left Hotel San Miniato my wife & I felt we had stayed in the best room in the hotel & for a very fair price. We highly recommend the Frederico II room.

Review 9:The manager or owner was quite grumpy and unwelcoming in stark contrast to the rest of the staff which was extremly friendly.

Review 10:Overall good value and friendly staff.

Review 11:nothing really.

Review 12:The room was lovely. The whole hotel is beautifully presented and the cleaner is amazing. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious and the view from our room incredible

Review 13:The view from my room over the Tuscan countryside was awesome. Room was clean and tidy. Buffer style breakfast, very nice. 2 mins from the town centre. I got a train to San Miniato, then the bus to just outside the old town, then transferred onto a minibus to take me through the winding streets of the old town. Really enjoyed my time here - very peaceful and no tourists!!

Review 14:Really nothing... But if I must put something we could say that we stayed in the "dependence building" - which we thought was fab, but there is no elevator you must walk up the stairs. And with luggage some may find that challenging. We didn't - but some may. And nevertheless Daniel helped with my case anyway!

Review 15:The aesthetics of the hotel was spectacular. This is a pretty old series of buildings with modern srt through it. So that started off with the right vibe. But when you meet the owners it gets better! Daniel, the son, was beyond hospitable... His warmth and help through our stay was above and beyond our expectation. Their new restaurant "Art Restaurant" is in the old church attached to the property is gorgeous and well worth a meal there to be in the property alone. Food was good and the atmosphere made it better. This was our best night in Italy. Do not miss if you are in San Miniato.

Review 16:staff kept us waiting 20 mins at check-in, trying to take photocopy of passports on their aged broken copier. Had upgraded when booking to a more expensive room, only to find it was in an annexe behind & not part of the main hotel. Access between 2 buildings was poor & we would have been much better off with a cheaper room. Not mentioned by Booking.com that we were paying more to stay in a cold annex! Breakfast was poor, 7 hotel had no facilities. Cannot recommend

Review 17:location was ok

Review 18:Having to ask for a hot breakfast each morning, it was never offered, although 'full english breakfast' was advertised. Hot water & coffee left out at self service breakfast was cold .

Review 19:very thin walls, could not sleep longer than 8 in the morning (cleaning process) a lot of mosquito (not the fault of the hotel) rooms could be a bit more bright

Review 20:nice location great breakfast good cleaning good wifi good quality of bed a lot of TV channels very clean bath room

Review 21:The restaurant is new so we tried it out, but it doesn't even compare to the food in the town.

Review 22:Location is amazing, nice to walk around town and up to the Tower. The town is quite small and personal.

Review 23:the breakfast wasn't very good... dry bread, dry cheese. Quite bad actually.

Review 24:small room with limited toiletries

Review 25:cute little town

Review 26:Breakfast so so No warm eggs

Review 27:Great location and very friendly staff

Review 28:The tweeny, little shower!

Review 29:Beautiful old historic building! The owner was very friendly and helpful. Delightful town!

Review 30:Nice location. Good breakfast. Friendly staff!

Review 31:Great staff. Lovely town. Great location for connections to Florence, Pisa, Lucca

Review 32:Air conditioning

Review 33:Staff friendless

Review 34:The option of a cooked English breakfast as referred to in the lift would have been good.

Review 35:The Superior room had a great view.

Review 36:nothing

Review 37:Friendly manager, large bedroom, good parking and quiet location

Review 38:In contradiction to the infos on bookingcom or the website of the hotel, there was no restaurant (or bar) at the hotel.

Review 39:nice breakfast.

Review 40:Bathroom/shower is a bit tricky to use.

Review 41:friendly People, Restaurant in the hotel -a particular place to be. Beautiful view.

Review 42:Bathroom could have been a bit cleaner

Review 43:Easy check-in Free parking Ok breakfast Spacious room Good location

Review 44:No sheltered bicycle storage. (We used the hotel car park.)

Review 45:Stunning views from our room's balcony. Striking restaurant in the converted chapel.

Review 46:dogs being allowed in the hotel.

Review 47:the comfort and size of superior rooms.

Review 48:Nothing...all was good.

Review 49:Friendly helpful staff and management. Good restaurant and wine. Comfortable, clean and quiet.

Review 50:We had to walk uphill to reach this hotel. The slope was very steep, no problem for cars.

Review 51:The location is very nice on a hill. The ancient building is very nice rebuild as a hotel. Staff was friendly.

Review 52:The bathroom was big enough to have fitted a decent size shower. Howecer, the cubicle installed was so small that it was difficult to shower without accidentally turn off the tap or knock the door open. Really, no need to go this small!

Review 53:The building has character and the rooms are spacious and well converted -it used to be a prison we were told. Great location.

Review 54:Very friendly & helpful staff. Spacious clean modern bedrooms. Good food, good drink & centrally located. Short drive from Pisa airport, ideal for a weekend break or longer.

Review 55:We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel. Breakfast was really good and well served. Staff were extremely friendly. Hotel rooms are very spacious, spotless clean and comfortable. Strong wifi connection. Easy parking in their parking space. We definitely recommend this hotel.

Review 56:The bathroom design and comfort very simple.

Review 57:Great location between Pisa and Florence. The room size and the design was good and the cleanliness impressive. Breakfast buffet ok. Good price.

Review 58:The walls of the tiny shower stall are folding accordion doors, and it was impossible not to flood the floor. The manager was a little grumpy, for whatever reason.

Review 59:The hotel is right in the ancient town center, which was very convenient. There is daily breakfast, including fresh espresso or American coffee, fruit and pastries. The rooms are amazingly quiet even when there is noise outside!

Review 60:We went there during the Truffle Festival and you could not enter the city with your car unless you were a local or a turist which stayed at a hotel with parking lot. So the parking was a biiig plus. Everything was clean, the staff was nice and the breakfast was good (yummy cheese, house made gems, etc)

Review 61:The service wasn't great, we didn't feel that the manager had his staff jumping, our pre arranged breakfast wasn't delivered to our room and had to be chased up, the following day we had breakfast in the hotel - not exciting either. The shower in the room was tepid. There weren't many luxuries here (although we had a suite) and it seemed they had employed a good marketing team to give the place a make over, but in general we didn't feel their service matched the marketing.

Review 62:The location was fantastic and central to the hill town, with views across the valley, the room was fine, comfortable and certainly 3 star. The hotel restaurant is in a beautiful converted church which is stunning - we enjoyed our meal (truffle tasting menu) although there was nothing of exceptional note besides maybe the beef carpaccio with white truffles and parmesan.

Review 63:The staff was friendly, always with a smile on their face, and always ready to help. Facilities in the hotel were excellent. The location was good given that we used a car to travel around.

Review 64:No evening food which was not clear at the time of booking. No ice and lemon for the Gin & Tonic in the evening

Review 65:Quality of the rooms (superior) helpfulness of the staff in finding somewhere to eat in town and helping with reservations. The location and parking. Breakfast

Review 66:We stayed in this hotel in the 2nd half of August for 6 nights. Everything was perfect! The room was clean(bathroom too, but with a small shower), big and the view!!! Wow! Incredible! Free wifi( fast) in the whole building. The staff was really kind and friendly and helpful. The owner(?) made a very delicious cappuccino( according to my husband those were the best, that he had ever drunk). Breakfast rich and delicious:hams, cheeses, teas, cakes(best crostatas), fruits, yoghurts, granolas, cornflakes etc. We would highly recommend this hotel to everyone, who wants to see Tuscany, because San Miniato is in the middle, not far from any famous tuscan towns.

Review 67:The continental breakfast was poor.

Review 68:The hotel is conveniently located in a hilltop town in Tuscany near the main routes between Firenze and Pisa. San Miniato is quiet and there is not much going on. But is a nice medieval town to wander in and the area is beautiful.

Review 69:Only minor complaint was that the shower screen fitted so badly that each time used it flooded the bathroom floor.

Review 70:Excellent location in a beautiful hilltop town, with lovely view from our room. Helpful staff, who recommended restaurants in the town, as hotel has none. Breakfast excellent: plentiful and varied. Very good stopping off place, less than an hour from Pisa airport.

Review 71:Breakfast was very "ordinary"

Review 72:Ideal for a stop over on the way back to Pisa airport. Nice location, quiet, and friendly. Good restaurants within easy walking distance.

Review 73:No access to a computer although they assisted in print-outs from ipad.Instructions for use of phone in room and the jacuzzi. They were happyto answer all of our questions and concerns. Entrance to parking waschallenging but doable.

Review 74:Room immaculate and newly remodeled. Excellent breakfast. Family ofowner genuinely concerned about our comfort.

Review 75:Lovely welcome and friendly service. We had an amazing view over the valley from our room. This was a wonderful place to spend some time relaxing. Whilst the main purpose of our visit was as a central base to go to Florence, Siena etc. etc. We spent a wonderful day exploring San Miniato which has much to offer on its own - and would strongly recommend.

Review 76:Aircon, room view

Review 77:WiFi, rooftop view, location, attention to detail

Review 78:The high cost of the spa.

Review 79:Large clean room. Wide selection @ breakfast. Friendly and welcoming staff.

Review 80:Very small shower and lots of mosquitos

Review 81:Very comfortable bed. Great location in the historic town. Great breakfast.

Review 82:would be better to pay more attention when cleaning the bathroom

Review 83:very friendly staff, central location in San Miniato, great for trips within Tuscany

Review 84:Nice comfortable and quiet hotel centrally located in a small medieval city.

Review 85:Breakfast, no pool

Review 86:Beautiful building, quiet, friendly, relaxing, historical, great food and wine

Review 87:Indifferent staff. Room with a view, only if you were tall! Lacking atmosphere. Poor wifi.

Review 88:Pretty hilltop village, very historic.

Review 89:The Location, The rich Breakfast, The Staff

Review 90:It was cold and the room was hard to get warmer.

Review 91:Paulo was so helpful and friendly.

Review 92:Very helpful personnel, contemporary, yet comfortable decor, good breakfast selection, view, position of the hotel, history of the building,

Review 93:Comfortable bed Breakfast buffet was more comprehensive than the norm for Italy. English breakfast available
