Reviews for Natural Bungalows

Review 1:A beautiful hotel with excellent staff. Location directly at river is perfect. A very relaxed place to watch the sunset in a short walking distance of the more touristy area.

Review 2:The manager went out of his way to source us transport back to Phnom Penh when ours fell through. Great relief for a pregnant lady! The position is relaxing and serene.

Review 3:The internet did not work for the whole stay (3 day). The room was not cleaned and we had to ask the manager on 2 occasions for the staff to do work. The bill was miscalculated.Staff seem to be very uninterested in the guests.

Review 4:The central location - therefore near to the town, restaurants etc.

Review 5:The staff were very helpful especially as my friend became very ill and they were very concerned for her and help in every way they could, including rushing off to get some medicine which they refused payment for!

Review 6:Since the place is not out of town, there's still some noise from the road and surrounding parties.

Review 7:The staff, in particular the manager Lang, were fantastic: very attentive, friendly and accommodating! Lovely riverside location with a sunset view but still walking-distance to town.

Review 8:Breakfast not included, menue needs to be improved; room was a little to dark and quite boring-looking; staff a little too inistent on early-morning interactions

Review 9:Location in the city but also in the nature; Staff welcoming. Will have a swimming pool soon; garden is nice; easy to walk to Kampot city centre; staff happy to provide tips on what to do

Review 10:Unexpected green oasis with a private sand beach along the river, only a few walking minutes from the centre of the city; clean and air conditioned rooms

Review 11:i paid about 40$ for deluxe double room, no breakfast included. They wanted to charge extra just to use their wine glasses. And they charged me 15$ for a broken wine glass.

Review 12:Nice view and environment.

Review 13:The information about the rooms is no real , is always the same pictures for All rooms , when you arrive to the hotel the room give you is not the one on the picture because the only have one room like the picture and Also is treaky the pictures because nome of them face the river

Review 14:The staff are not very welcoming in fact we got in the way of their social life!! Room not cleaned during our stay, water in shower did not drain and paying bill at end of stay took ages as correct person not around so we had to wait!!

Review 15:Short walk to town was fine

Review 16:- I ordered noodle soup with vegetables in the evening, I found 3 little flies and another little bug in it....

Review 17:+ beautiful rooms, beautiful garden, beautiful place to eat next to the river + good Wifi + good airco + spacious rooms + rent of motorbikes

Review 18:Can't swim in river due to pollution but as staff kept the grounds immaculate. it was a lovely place to sit anyway.

Review 19:Loved the arty decor of Natural Bungalows, the river view and the very helpful staff. It was close enough to town but quiet. Shower worked well.So did air con. No fridge but food and drinks very cheap in restaurant. No room safe but able to use Hotel safe.Lovely balcony outside room.

Review 20:Breakfast was charged separately, when every other hotel we have stayed at in Cambodia & Laos included breakfast. Staff was very unfriendly!

Review 21:Nice setting with beautiful beach

Review 22:Very nice and helpfull Staff. At the day of departure we found out that I have been sold an Invalid ticket or lets say they overbooked that Bus to Phnom Penh. They simply didn't pick me up at the guesthouse. The guy at the reception took me and my luggage with his own Scooter to the Ticket-office and helped me to get my Seat anyway. Great! And thanks again.

Review 23:It is just on the edge of the city but close enough to walk. The restaurant is right on the river and the sunsets were amazing. Watching the local fishing boats return at this time added to the ambience of the place. Staff are great

Review 24:They are doing construction all around starting at 7am. It's also next to a club at night....not great for sleeping. No pool and next to a very dirty part of the river so no swimming. So really not very fun. Over priced for what it is.

Review 25:Very noisy because the hotel was still working on building the new houses.

Review 26:banglows were attractive. The environment was really good. The riverside view was excellent

Review 27:I chose bungalow partly because it advertised a fridge. No fridge when we got there. They said it Not meant to have one until I showed them my booking details. They got one for us (I think from another bungalow because I heard the next people arrive complain of no fridge) The beds and pillows were like cement. I asked for a softer pillow and they gave me a small one. Rooms a bit musty smelling and tired. The restaurant has lots of seats but are old and the cane loungers could do with more pads on them as they are old and uncomfortable. There are new rooms being built which creates some noise. They need to tidy up existing bungalows and restaurant first for the people who pay to stay now.

Review 28:Staff are very friendly and helpful. Free ride into the town. Bungalows in nice gardens on the riverside. Nice breakfast delivered to our balcony Xmas morning. Beautifully presented food and the best fruit salad ever. Try the frozen mangoe Margarita....Delicious!!

Review 29:The beautiful bungalows are clean, spacious and surrounded by plants and trees. Eating at the bungalows was a treat, watching the fishing boats on the river coming home of an evening as the sun set on Bokor Hill. Idyllic. Staff are very helpful

Review 30:The river is not very appropiate for swimming, so I wouldn´t suggest going in the hot season as there isn´t pool.

Review 31:Beautiful, clean, super fast wifi, food, private beach, close to main part of town.

Review 32:The beds were pretty hard, and the wifi is not good in the rooms.

Review 33:They say there's no free rides, but if you book here, a staff member will drive you via tuk tuk into town, and come pick you up if you tell them where and when!

Review 34:The moldy smell in one of our rooms.

Review 35:Location just outside city centre but no problem with the free tuk-tuk., very helpful staff, great bar with excellent view on river

Review 36:My brother and I had a great experience at the natural bungalows. The hotel staff were very friendly and organised a fireflies boat trip and a tour of Kampot and Kep for us. The restaurant has a huge variety of great food at reasonable prices. Rooms are spacious, private and very clean.

Review 37:No issue's

Review 38:Free tuk tuk to town, great staff, good location , cold beer , good food , should have stayed longer than the week we did, goo Internet conection as well ,

Review 39:Nothing

Review 40:Everything, especially the manager leng couldn't have been more friendly or helpful.

Review 41:No fridge in room. Lack of power point in bathroom

Review 42:Staff were friendly, could book tours etc. Breakfast on the deck was nice.

Review 43:Great location, helpful staff especially the manager and clean comfortable rooms which were very quiet

Review 44:I like the view.

Review 45:Rooms downstairs dark and damp upstairs rooms looked better

Review 46:Location was good.

Review 47:Location

Review 48:location,lovely comfy, friendly staff

Review 49:Not a good location. No wifi.

Review 50:Quiet, breakfast is ok...nothing special...

Review 51:view on the river, rooms

Review 52:Noise from across the river from a club.

Review 53:Evenings on the "beach"

Review 54:Building going on onsite, more comfortable seating with cushions for relaxation on riverfront

Review 55:Riverfront, quiet

Review 56:We stopped for 4 nights in kampot and stayed in a private bungalow. The only negative was the price which exceeds many of its nearby competitors.

Review 57:Good location, great staff, very good food. Perfect for a one night stay.

Review 58:Hard bed No extra pillows Cannot get wifi in the room Dusty road outside the entrance of the resort

Review 59:Love the rustic feel of this resort!! The bed was too hard for my liking n caused me backache n the single pillow was way too flat (they could not give me an extra pillow). Breakfast was minimal but the baguette was delicious! This resort's bar faces the riverbank with beautiful scenery n it was most enjoyable to eat our breakfast on the open decks! Location was ok as Kep is not a very big.. But the lane leading to this resort is the most dusty one among all the lanes we passed with red mud ground! Cannot get the wifi in our room n we had to tap on our hotspot from our prepaid card

Review 60:Nothing you can fault. The extensive menu not the finest in Kampot but good value for money.

Review 61:Great location on river with small beach handy for brilliant local market and easy stroll to the main centre. Bright clean rooms.Resort has own laundry and you can do a firefly trip from beach.V good value overall and staff helpful and always available to help.

Review 62:We had a great 2 days here during the Chinese New Year. The owner and his friends/family invited us to join them for a few drinks and then took us to Karaoke. The rooms are great, especially having been at Otres beach for a week! A great location right on the river.

Review 63:There was nothing on the beach to lie down on, any single beach chair or mattress, it is a shame. The floor in the bungalowshave many holes in it, so rats or mouses visited us and our bags during the night.

Review 64:Of course the surroundings were beautiful and the colours of the sand and the sea were beautiful. There were nearly no people on the beach, so you could really feel as Robinson. The nearby Dive Center could lend you some basic ABC equipment for snurkling.

Review 65:Very friendly, family style staff. Did not hover, but were always there to help. Quiet location on the river. Free Tuk Tuk from hotel. Omlettes in the morning were light, fluffy and delicious. In retrospect we should have spent more time here as hopping off point for other excursions.

Review 66:This is more regarding Kampot, but the riverside has been developed so there is not much nature in the central area. I recommend taking a trip out to other areas or Kep for crabs. That said, the town has a relaxed lazy beachtown vibe without the beach :)

Review 67:Nice location on riverbank, a short riverside walk from central area. The restaurant is on the riverbank and it's quiet and pretty peaceful. The food was good though the service was slow. The rooms are nice, wifi was reliable and overall I had a good experience. Important to note that this is a family run establishment so you should not expect hotel level services. There are cheaper options more centrally located but I would stay here again, for it's riverside location and relaxed atmosphere.

Review 68:staff is unmotivated and only wants to sell you expensive trips (entrancce fee 5$ to kep???) but no helpful information about the area - much better deals at the travel agencies. we wanted a drink and a snack some day and all the staff watched tv or had their eyes glued to their mobiles. they noticed us but after 30mins we gave up. this is a shame, this place could be so nice with the small beach (if somebody took care) and the restaurant next to the river. would not recommend and will not stay again.

Review 69:location next to the river, small beach, many plants & flowers

Review 70:The room decoration was horrible. For the rest all was perfect.

Review 71:The surprising cozy element of this place when you arrive in this almost abandoned place. If you stay at this place, it's very relaxing.

Review 72:The location right on the river with a view of the mountains wasfantastic and provided a secluded spot for relaxing during our stay. Theroom was light, airy, and comfortable. Unlike some places, NaturalBungalows has a tuk tuk that guests can use to be taken into the town, which was helpful several times for my group.

Review 73:nothing to do without a car or other kind of trasportations, except relax; no restaurants nor shops in the neighborough

Review 74:very relaxing place; fantastic view; romantic restaurant for dinner and breakfast belong the river; rooms clean; quiet ; i recommend for family and couple, but also for friends

Review 75:I really loved the little, cute bungalow we stayed in. The restaurant was very nice and we had a nice dinner at the riverside. The staff were more than nice and very serviable. It was like paradise.

Review 76:The atmosphere was nice! I loved the riverside location and the decor of the rooms was impressive. The free breakfast was pretty good compared to other places in the country offering the same. The staff were friendly. I'll definitely stay here again!

Review 77:The information given by the manager was not always correct. He seemed to be more interested in cashing his commission than to give a good service. This was the case when we booked a taxi for the caves and when we asked for a sunset boat ride. Get informed in the city for concrete information. The guest houses in the riverfront are helpfull e.g. Rikitikitavi.

Review 78:The location in the riverfront. Bungalows are pretty big and beds quite comfortable. Good shower.

Review 79:Trouble with the booking: they told us it was canceled and gave us onebungalow and a three bed room. The second was small, dark andunconftable. Also, the sheets on the bed were disgusting. But theychanged it the day after to a twin bed room so this was ok.warm water only in the shower, not to wash the hands. in the bungalow, the heater didn't worked so no warm water. the bungalow wasn't cleaned at the second day. the hotel seems to be good few years ago but acutally, they ignored the details. food: dinner was very bad, the worst eating into our holidays. breakfast and bar was ok.

Review 80:The Bungalow was really nice

Review 81:Attention to detail with cleanliness of bathroom could be improved. Lack of safe and fridge in room for the price you pay.

Review 82:Location is excellent, staff are friendly and cheery and very helpful.

Review 83:The staff were super friendly. The location was gorgeous, beautiful view of the mountains and the riverside setting (with two wooden jettys overlooking the water) was incredibly peaceful and tranquil.

Review 84:no real atmosphere, the food wasn't very good, the staff's attitude

Review 85:The manager was very good, stunning location, very clean and spacious accomodation

Review 86:Bad insonorisation. Staff was friendly but not very helpful. Very poor breakfast (supplement for extra choice).

Review 87:The only address in Kampot with riverside location and walking distance from the city centre. Nice riverside restaurant. Comfortable bungalows.

Review 88:Liked Everything. Nice gardens. Great décor. Quality Restaurant on the river, lovely sunsets. friendly helpful staff. quiet & peaceful but 5 min. walk to town.

Review 89:The staff's English is touch and go. It wasn't a difficulty, but it was a surprise when you consider the quality of the facility.

Review 90:This was my 'blow-out' guesthouse during a three week trip to Cambodia ($36/nt, including breakfast). Excellent facilities and wonderful location next to the river. Real value for the price. (Check out the photos. It really does look like that.) My wife wasn't with me, but I can easily visualize a couple having a very pleasant, quiet time unwinding here. It's popular with Phnom Penh professionals who come down for weekends to relax.

Review 91:Room was dark and smelled like mould. Staff did not understand any English whatsoever and therefore was not able to assist with any request.

Review 92:Great location on the river within walking distance to the town centre

Review 93:Shower head kept falling down Noises, lots of bugs in room. Toilet atbar broken

Review 94:Good cocktails and seafood. Offered a free tuk tuk service to the mainstrip. Near to fireflies, but expensive for an hour long trip.

Review 95:Meals took at least 30-40 mins from order - maybe that's good as itmust be freshly cooked! Cambodian Mattresses seem to be very hard! Nextdoor neighbours had very enthusiastic crowing roosters! Sometimes hardto communicate, but we really should have learned some Cambodian!

Review 96:Very friendly people, Great food, Excellent décor we were upstairs inthe Bacei Sur Room - Pink, but very nicely decorated!! Loved the mealsarea over the river, Lovely location on the riverside, Great sunset viewof the Elephant Mountains Very reasonably priced -comparable property inSiem Reap or Phnom Penh would cost at least us$60. They also havecheaper rooms, but we can't comment on them.

Review 97:In the night something large was running in the eves of our room then in the morning we woke to the noise of a loud motor running and also lots of farm animals making alot of noise. Turns out there's a farm next door. We assumed one of the hens or something was what made the noise the evening before. We went to breakfast and the motor noise was extremely loud and it was coming from an engine a few feet out in the river so there was no chance of relaxing and especially as there was no where even to sit and relax on their private man made beach (which was our reason for choosing the resort in the first place). We checked out and went to somewhere we could relax. Would recommend only to couples that were not looking to have a couple of lazy rest days.

Review 98:The room was clean and spacious and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 99:No fridge in the room and don't get too excited about the beach, which is really a strip of sand that has been dumped there. Still,it's an attractive place and we'd stay there again.

Review 100:Very pleasant environment beside the river, decent food, spacious roomswith excellent showers and helpful staff ready to make any necessarybookings. Easy walk or tuk tuk ride into town.

Review 101:- the lovely rats or whatever it was at night ;-)

Review 102:- nice & friendly staff - direct at the river, very nice enjoy dinner at sunset - best mangoshake! - nice bungalows

Review 103:A small animal walking inside the wall all night long. Only one sheet and a blanket. We could not close the bathroom door, bad smelling. Price: hotel; confort: hostel.

Review 104:Garden, riverside

Review 105:Price quite high compare to bungalow around. Staff wasn't really helpful when he saw we booked activities wth a different service

Review 106:Clean place with a good standing

Review 107:the site is maybe not finished. they still need to make some bungalows more intimate. it stank a little bit on the way to the bungalows, maybe from the neighboorhood more than from the hotel. But inside really OK for me the bst accomadation in kampott

Review 108:staff was very kind, nice location, great food; possibility to swimm in the rive and nice terrace for breakfast, lunch, dinner

Review 109:Felt not looked after. Poor information, nothing in room. Only had breakfast there and that was forgettable. Great milkshake thou

Review 110:It's on the river and has great views

Review 111:Not much, average

Review 112:slow service, leaking sink

Review 113:riverside location, room, bacony

Review 114:No chairs in the room.

Review 115:Nice quiet garden setting with private sandy riverside beach. Enjoyable five nights stay to end seven weeks of travelling.

Review 116:Outside town and still super loud. Uncomfortable beds. Bad food. Overpriced... Pretty sure I got bed us there. Pics are misleading.

Review 117:Not a lot

Review 118:Friendly staff, lovely setting on the riverbank, very relaxing, lovely food. Cried when I left. Best place to stay so far!!!

Review 119:Breakfast to small, Lunch not good. :( Sorry.

Review 120:Restaurant at the river with white sand, Staff, Bungalow, Quite, Nature.

Review 121:Great quiet locstion on Kampot River. Good location. Comfortable rooms. Value for money. Loved our stay in Kampot

Review 122:Stingy food portions Inattentive service

Review 123:Very nice room
