Reviews for Miravalle Palace Hotel

Review 1:there was no parking available and no apology or provision made, even though we checked in advance. The TV in our room was broken and nobody mentioned it when we checked in and when we complained they just shook their heads. The wifi was virtually non existent. There were no glasses in our bedroom so we opened up a bottle of prosecco from the room fridge and had nothing to pour it into. there were no glasses in the bathroom, no bottle opener etc. The manageress didn't care. The standard was 3 star

Review 2:We loved the location and there was one lady called Lucia who sorted everything out for us - without her it would have been diabolical!

Review 3:As this was August the hotel's restaurant was closed.

Review 4:Amazing location in a former Holy Roman Empire fortress top of a rock pinnacle dominating the Pisa Plain: there were plenty of interesting things to visit in the small town and a wide choice of restaurants.

Review 5:For the 1st night I felt miserable because the room was too hot. Fortunately in the morning I reported it to the receptionist, she has been brilliant, she sorted it out, noted that the ventilation was off, apologised and provided me with a great customer care service

Review 6:The hotel is a bit tired and frayed round the edges, e.g. bathrooms could do with some modernisation.

Review 7:A beautiful historic building, really friendly staff, and the most incredible view from our room.

Review 8:It was very hot (38C) and the AC was not able to compensate. We we barely comfortable. The breakfast was average. Due to a local concert, we had to park on a nearby street, but the hotel did assist us (after a bit of a language barrier).

Review 9:The location is great and the hotel is very picturesque. The rooms seem nice in general and ours had a wonderful view over the countryside.

Review 10:There was no air conditioning in the bathroom. The first night of our stay there was heat coming in the bathroom, this when is was 95 degrees. We had to change rooms. The beds were extremely uncomfortable.

Review 11:The hotel is very clean and in a great location. Loved the high ceilings.

Review 12:Unfortunately, during our stay the festival was on, so we had to park a long way from the hotel.

Review 13:Very convenient for centre of town Large comfortable suite, with spectacular views in two directions

Review 14:Shower was a little small but not a problem for us.

Review 15:Location is very nice in the center of San Miniato with lovely views. Room is spacious and large with refined decoration. We loved the atmosphere and aircon was so welcome on this very hot July day! Restaurant is highly recommended with typical local products.

Review 16:Size of bathroom was not in proportion with the quality of the room. We ate at the restaurant. Food was delicious, but menu not very creative. We had a lovley table with a great view of the valley. However, entering the restaurant one felt like attending a marriage or another large event. Management should think about redecorating the restaurant. Service was of poor quality. The staff didn't know exactly what they were doing but made up lack of training and experience with their smiles and with a friendly, attentive service. Overall, we spent a pleasent evening at the restaurant.

Review 17:We loved the historic setting and the great views from the hotel. Our suite was very large and decoration reflected the medivial ambiance. Our room overlooked the Piazza Bonaparte which allowed us to observe the easter procession. Staff was friendly.

Review 18:the breakfast was very poor and we felt it was an inconvenience for the hotel. our room and the corridors were very poorly lit. the beds and the lack of stoage was bad. the shower and the grouting was dirty, and there was no shelves for sponge bags.

Review 19:the position in relation to the truffle fair was very good, as were the reception staff.

Review 20:Nothing

Review 21:we've been there only for one night, and we really like the restaurant and our room and the town itself. We had a little walk around and all sightseens were in two minutes walk- that was very nice, as we've been a bit tired after half-day drive, but really wanted to see town. So we would recomend this nice place.

Review 22:The bed was terrible, we couldn't sleep all night. The breakfast was poor, even no toaster for the bread. The bathroom abd shower was like 2 star hotel.

Review 23:Nice location

Review 24:I would have liked tea making facilities in the room, as I like to have a cuppa while in bed in the morning.

Review 25:The room was lavish, and view was spectacular. 24 hour reception, although a bell would be a good idea for when staff leave the desk. Breakfast very tasty; lots of room; well equipped shower room; well equipped mini-bar. Restaurant on site. A lovely stay.

Review 26:The decor was dated especially in the bathroom. Maybe we drew the short straw, but our bedroom was above the kitchen and the noise from the kitchen extractor was rather loud, this eventually stopped, but then either a dishwasher or washing machine ran most of the night, which lead to a very poor nights sleep. The hard mattress was bearable.

Review 27:The location and setting where excellent. As was the car parking, right outside the door.

Review 28:Why on earth would you close the restaurant for the busiest weeks of the summer holiday season? Anyway, the fabulous Bar Cantina a few hundred metres away provided the world's best pizza: a more than acceptable alternative.

Review 29:Location, atmospheric historical hotel, helpful staff, canopy beds, breakfast, snack lunch at outdoor bar, everything. Except..... see below.

Review 30:Could not get close to the hotel by car as there is a theatre season on this time of the year which meant carrying cases a long way .you should have told us.The room we were givenhad a tiny bathroom and the shower was set in a low recess so anyone over 4'6'' would have had trouble washing . The place needs some upgrading generally. The lift was not working so we had to carry bags up two large flights of stairs. Bad value for the money. Breakfast was the worst we have had in Italy.

Review 31:The location

Review 32:Shower stall had awkward doors, no spare loo roll was provided and cold water pressure was very poor. Room temperature was very hard to regulate even setting the air conditioning appropriately - we had to choose between being too hot or too cold. The restaurant is closed on a Monday night, as are most restaurants in town, which would have been helpful to know in advance.

Review 33:Room was nice, though not as elaborate as some of the photos would suggest (comfort double room). Absolutely incredible views made up for it! Only spent one night, beds were comfortable and breakfast was standard continental. Parking was very handy and wifi was good. Old building was beautiful. Very close to a restaurant called Enoteca Piazza del Popolo which was one of the few open on a Monday night. Very small - we arrived at 8pm and managed to get a table before it filled up and many were turned away. Incredible wine list and possibly the best meal I've ever eaten over multiple trips to Italy.

Review 34:Overpriced shabby elegance. Very old bathroom fittings

Review 35:The view

Review 36:A lovely clean hotel with amazing views. Great value for money! We will definitely return.

Review 37:Everything. The great welcome, and the helpfulness of the staff was all I would wish for. Thank you very much.

Review 38:Location of the hotel, friendliness of the staff, the hotel was happy to bring breakfast forward by 30mins for an early start.

Review 39:Location

Review 40:Bath missing in my room

Review 41:Building and rooms are great

Review 42:Tiny odd shaped shower

Review 43:Location - it's in an outstanding position at the top of a less well known but nevertheless very attractive hill town

Review 44:Leaving

Review 45:Location, staff, historic building, atmosphere

Review 46:See above

Review 47:Great location in the old town. Amazing views from the room.

Review 48:Nothing.

Review 49:This was probably the most beautifully situated hotel we have stayed in - ever! The views from our window were just spectacular. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff. Beautifully presented rooms. Lovely town to walk around. We arrived on a market day and our way to the hotel was blocked. We parked up and I walked through to see if we could get through. The local police were so helpful, they took me to meet up with my husband, and guided us back to the hotel - outstanding service, and my first time in a police car too! Fantastic bars and superb restaurants nearby.

Review 50:Had to wait for staff at entrance on several occasions. Bar service was poor. Bathroom was just ok for a hotel of this level.

Review 51:Excellent location in San Miniato. Comfortable bed. Great views from room. Very good breakfast. Wifi and tv were very good.

Review 52:Breakfast was disappointing. Selection was limited. No toaster to make hot toast. On checking out I was told that I could have asked for toast but there was no way to know that in advance. Also had to order coffee from attendant and it was almost cold.

Review 53:Beautiful location. Nice and spacious room and bathroom. Shower is an awkward arrangement that gets the floor wet. However, they provide terry cloth shoes to compensate. Both the front desk staff and the restaurant staff are helpful and friendly. Dinner in hotel restaurant was ok. However, there is a small restaurant in the village that has unusual dishes. You do need a reservation because there are only a few tables.

Review 54:Driving up the hill is a treat.

Review 55:Beautiful view from our window and the hotel area from the hilltop. Very helpful staff. Best cold breakfast around. Nice restaurant with a view. Quaint hilltop town. Excellent room. A nice gourmet restaurant in town.

Review 56:The bathroom was so small, I had to side sideways when using thetoilet....:( The front desk clerk was sick with a cold and unfortunatelyI caught it from her handing the room keys........:(

Review 57:Front desk staff was very helpful.

Review 58:The restaurant was closed.Although there are nice places in the village we wanted to taste the hotel's cuisine

Review 59:The whole place is amazing. The views are amazing and the commune of San Miniato is like a fairytale.Good breakfast and efficient staff.

Review 60:no garden to sit in although the hotel had tables and chairs outside

Review 61:we had a lovely large airy room with a beautiful view Breakfast was also very good

Review 62:Nothing to not like about the hotel, but would be tricky to find without a satnav.

Review 63:Wonderful room - the biggest we have ever stayed in! Beautiful location with a very good restaurant. We only planned to stay one night but extended to three as it was a perfect location to explore Tuscany.

Review 64:Struggling to think of anything!

Review 65:The rooms were stylish, luxurious, well equipped and clean. The view from the rooms and the restaurant over the Arno valley are breath-taking. The hotel is an old Bishop's Palace atop a city wall and the small town it is part of is full of character and has festivals, markets, restaurants and bars. The food in the hotel restaurant was excellent and reflected the local area. The staff were friendly and efficient and spoke good English. All this AND it had really good free wifi! Florence, Lucca and Pisa all within easy reach by hire car.

Review 66:There were no complaints, other than a little scary driving up the narrow, and steep roads in our rental car to the top of the mountain.

Review 67:This was once a palace where emperors stayed, and was built in 962. It is located on top of the hilltop town of San Miniato, and our room had the most wonderful views of the village below, and the Tuscan hills. We could see for miles. The room was large with red tile floors, and a canopy, over the bed, hung from chains from the exposed beam ceiling. There was a comfortable sofa, and chairs for sitting, but we could hardly get away from the window and the breathtaking views. The window shutters pulled all the way to the outside walls of the hotel, and you were as high up on the mountain, as the birds flew. The bathroom was very nice with wonderful shower. There was a beautiful breakfast room, and very nice breakfast. The hotel also offers a very nice restaurant.

Review 68:Shower in bathroom can only be described as primitive. We were there ona Monday and the restaurant was closed all day. We had to go out in thepouring rain to get something to eat. No public lounge areas. This isnot a 4 star hotel but a 3 star.

Review 69:Location,friendly helpful staff. Beautiful views as high up. Heating wason as it was pretty cold in June! Where other hotels refused to put onheating as it was May/June

Review 70:the rooms were very spacious and clean. The staff were kind and spoke very good English. The views from the room were spectacular and the hotel was right close to the city center.

Review 71:Beautiful hotel and beautiful location, a beautiful and romantic room.Everything was just perfect, dinner, breakfast, touring San Miniato and the wonderful concert of Antonella Ruggiero at night at the church.WiFi also worked perfectly.I truly recommend!

Review 72:The bed ...so hard and uncomfortable...and the pillows..no give

Review 73:View location ,staff,room

Review 74:Breakfast selection was adequate but limited on meats and cheese.

Review 75:Stunning view, great restaurant for supper, well appointed room.

Review 76:A lot of noice from outside and the corridor.

Review 77:The view from the room was great.

Review 78:location and ambience of the hotel - this is second time of staying here

Review 79:bit oldfashioned

Review 80:the setting and view are stunning
