Reviews for Guesthouse Yadocurly
Review 1:Outside loo and shower. One damaged and dirty sink to clean teeth, wash face - outside and in full view of the street. No towels provided, extra charge for heating, no locks on doors, every sound in the building can be heard. You have to take your rubbish away with you.
Review 2:Friendly welcome. Restored old building. Close to sea front and station.
Review 3:Staffs aren't speaking a fluent English, a bit difficult to communicate
Review 4:Quite an old and tradition house to stay in, the dormitory is big, staffs are friendly
Review 5:No towel provided!! The staffs were not very helpful and seemed disinterested. Sliding windows in the room can quite noisy during the windy night we had to put some folded paper to stop the panels from vibrating but didn't help much. We've visited many old houses around the world including Japan, most are cosy and nicely done but this one is not.
Review 6:The guesthouse is clean and close to the station.
Review 7:We spent a great night learning how to cook traditional good called okonomiyaki with the owner and other guests! For free! Simply amazing! Nice old house with smart use of spaces! Simply perfect to start the shimanami kaido
Review 8:well suited for young backpackers. Although the building is authentic it is still being renovated, the kitchen is full of tools and other building gear so only can access the fridge and microwave (not like pictures)there is a fold out table with cold water machine ,kettle and coffee and tea products. There is no cups, plates or cutlery just very small paper cups. Toilet and shower located outside of building.
Review 9:Location is fantastic, and the staff are helpful and pleasant.just tucked in behind shopping arcade where lots of food places can be found.
Review 10:Some utensils and Plates provided would be good but you could ask for them. Also we would like to have been given a bit more information about area.
Review 11:Great location with sea view and a unique fun Japanese house. Friendly host who cooked dinner with and for us.
Review 12:Cluttered spaces (mezzanine full of working tools and other not so clean stuff),
Review 13:Very spartan guest house, good to start cycling tour to Imabari or other islands in the vicinity of Onomichi
Review 14:Everything was great!
Review 15:I had a fabulous stay here! The set up is great for a solo traveller. The staff are excellent and ever so friendly too. Could not recommend a pit stop here more!
Review 16:The layout was a little confusing. The manamrnt owns the small cafe next door, and you may have to meet them there. Still cool
Review 17:The general laid back vibe this place gives off. It's eclectic and interesting, with a really cool staff. Definitely coming back
Review 18:The 'no bin' policy was a bit strange. And lack of kitchen utensils for shared use eg bowls and spoons
Review 19:Location was great, and staff were willing to assist when asked. Always felt relaxed
Review 20:The staffs don't speak much English, so travelers who don't speak Japanese might find it difficult to communicate. But don't worry, they have all necessities you would need in a hostel and things are quite straightforward here.
Review 21:Everything was fine for a hostel lodger. Friendly staffs, clean, simple yet cozy. The location is not far from the train station, close to sea and next to the heart of the shopping street.
Review 22:not very comfortable facilities (shared bath and toilet), not amazing for a traveler looking for a rest but really nice otherwise
Review 23:Friendly staff, nice traditional Japanese house, amazing location
Review 24:There's no sink at the guesthouse, only a really old and dirty 'sink-like' stone. But it's ok for washing hands.
Review 25:The guesthouse is very lovely and simple and the staff is welcoming and very friendly.
Review 26:The place did feel a bit shacky, and some cold nights with very little insulation can make the place a bit cold on cold days.
Review 27:Although the place felt Very DIY, it had a very comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The staff was very laid back, but helpful and polite. A small homely den for not too picky people.
Review 28:It's a fairly basic accomodation, suits backpackers. The toilet and shower are outside the house in a DIY set up. If you need to go at night, you will have to navigate through a couple of levels of narrow staircase. It sqeeks. You can't leave any rubish. We keep a plastic bag for rubish and dump at train station everyday. Bushing teeth at an outdoor basin. Not sure how it'd work in winter. We were there in spring. Didn't have to use the aircon which you have to pay to use. Wiring of the house is a bit dodgy. My charger got so hot that it got a burn mark.
Review 29:Good location, close to train station.
Review 30:The ladder for going down to the loo and shower. But it is strong but watch your head.
Review 31:Clean loft like room and quiet. Owner/ Manager helpful. Next door to right is a fantastic seafood/ sashimi restaurant but not cheap. Memorable for absolute quality and precision in preparation by father and son team.
Review 32:Watch your head going up the stairs.
Review 33:The warmth of the hosts and quality of the room. There's a funky DIY feel and they have a nice craft aesthetic. The cafe and people hanging out create a fun sense of community.
Review 34:general prices.. I had no choice coming there (because of late booking) and everything was too expensive for me.. no kitchen what so ever, not even hot water there is 1 microwave though... but that's it ! They run a café that sells hot drinks The ocean view is in fact a harbour view (things to know aswell, aircon if needed cost extra fee too)
Review 35:location in the center of Onomichi, good mattress nice lounge with bay windows overlooking ... the harbor... It's a new place and I think the owners have to understand what backpackers need
Review 36:The staff are awesome, everybody is really friendly and is often hanging out in the adjoining cafe. Despite staying for only a week I really felt at home here.
Review 37:Close to train station and shops, staff were so friendly and welcoming. The place had great character and the bed was very comfortable. Convenient place to start our island bicycke ride.
Review 38:If u don't mind a few mins difference from the station, other Guest Houses are more comfortable. When u use air-conditioner, u need to pay.
Review 39:Confortable free Wi-Fi and friendly staff
Review 40:Comprehensive facilities, clear and conformable environment, and also provide a space to travellers for exchanging ideas!
Review 41:Very low key place that doesn't have much, but has everything you need for the traveling traveler.
Review 42:tiny bed, not clean, cold
Review 43:Good location
Review 44:Only one small bathroom
Review 45:Location
Review 46:Only one shower (but there are only few rooms, so it is ok)
Review 47:Very friendly staff!!!!
Review 48:Super friendly helpful host, awesome renovated 200 year old home.
Review 49:Great design. A nice mix of modern and traditional Japanese lodging. Close to the station and all the action onomichi has to offer.
Review 50:The guesthouse was a great experience, very welcoming and the perfect base for exploring beautiful Onomichi town and cycling on the islands nearby.
