Reviews for Ca' Delle Erbe Residenza

Review 1:The Room was on the third floor. The staircase is narrow.Difficult to manage with luggage.

Review 2:Great location ,on the lovely Piazza.Right in the middle of the historic district.Good restaurants.

Review 3:Breakfast was simply at a coffee shop. Choice of pastry and cafe. Owner was nice.

Review 4:Suite is very nice and spacious! Hostess was accommodating and helpful.

Review 5:See above

Review 6:Breakfast takes place at a coffee shop nearby and it is not satisfactory. They proposed only coffee and after having waited more than 10 mn we asked for something to eat and the waitress told us to get up and go to see inside... I think they should improve this as accomodation was perfect.

Review 7:Wifi was erratic, but it was very probably a temporary problem throughout Mantova caused by a lightning strike, so we can't blame Ca' delle Erbe for that!

Review 8:Reasonably priced upgrade to the suite with the double (Jacuzzi) bath was worth every Eurocent because it also had a great balcony/view and beautiful original wall/ceiling frescoes.

Review 9:We would have liked to be warned that there is no elevator and we'd have to carry our suitcases three flights up. One has to go out and walk across the piazza to have breakfast which was nothing to mention. In the café with which the hotel has a deal and hands you breakfast vouchers, we had to wait to find a place and then order our breakfast which consisted of a selection of bottled juice, a tasteless croissant, marmalade and coffee. Such a waste of time and definitely not worthy. Instead we would recommend the hotel to include a coffee machine in the room and one can pick up from the bakery right below a fresh hot croissant or bread or doughnut and enjoy a fresh breakfast. If customers are into big breakfasts (eggs and bacon etc.) they can go to any of the coffee shops around at their own leisure.

Review 10:Location was perfect. Right in the centre of all the action but nevertheless very quiet because of excellent sound proof windows. The lady who received us at the reception was very kind and explicit about all details and very helpful. She also provided us with interesting valuable hints about the activities which we took on board. We would definitely return. The room was very comfortable, spacious and clean.

Review 11:Be prepared for a multiple stair climb. Our breakfasts were provided by two different cafes, each reasonably close by, but the food was just adequate. On Sunday, our server was quite curt and inhospitable.

Review 12:Our hostest was welcoming and most gracious. The location offers quiet privacy and stylish comfort. Exceptional bathroom design, and the air conditioning help makes up for the stair climb to get there.

Review 13:Great location but lovely and quiet inside. The room was very spacious and well equipped - a lovely modern interior inside a very old building. Breakfast at a local café was lovely.

Review 14:Big luxury appartment. However some of the space was wasted with just a sofa in the middle area. Lots of stairs (but was aware of this in advance)

Review 15:Excellent location and very stylish.

Review 16:The breakfast was outsourced to a local cafe and was inedible. A surly waitress took our order, there was no explanation what we could have, so we asked for croissants. What appeared was factory made cheese and inedible ham with two very rubbery brioche , no croissants! We drank our coffee and left the food, we had expected better for the price of the room rate, and this was Italy after all, the home of good food! Shame on them!

Review 17:Right in the central area of mantova, our room overlooked the busy square. The room was lovely and airy and deliciously cool in the intense heat for the days we were there.

Review 18:The stairs. Office is across the Plaza in the restaurant, Breakfast is a block away.

Review 19:Great view of the plaza. Central location. Newly renovated with stylish modern furniture. Roomy. Discount in their restaurant.

Review 20:Being a historic building there is no lift. It was okay for us, but if you can't carry your luggage up a couple of floors it may not suit you.

Review 21:Well located to most of what you want to see in Mantova. Plenty of atmosphere right outside your door.

Review 22:Very low bed. Lighting could be better. Parking a ways away, but only 4 euros per day.

Review 23:Location. Clean room. Style, and little balcony overlooking square.

Review 24:No lift might put off some but worth it to stay in such a lovely building in great location.

Review 25:Great location overlooking square. Upgraded to superior room which was huge and very stylish.

Review 26:One of the night lamps was broken and was not changed although reported. The showerhead was leaking, only gave a trickle of water. Small problems left unattended can in time ruin an otherwise lovely residence.A very loud bell from the nearby church rang out every hour on the hour, waking us up with a start.

Review 27:The location is smack in the centre of town. The rooms are well appointed and pleasant. We had a charming little balcony looking on the Piazza delle Erbe.

Review 28:in our room, when someone showered above us, there was a slight noise coming from the wall (at nighttime it may disturb for some minutes, but relax, it will go away again)

Review 29:- fantastic and spacy room with all comforts required - very quiet, very clean - great bed with duna cover - good heating - fantastic staff and owners - great restaurant

Review 30:We knew this before but just to point it out: you cannot go there by car so expect to bring your suitcase by foot!

Review 31:Cozy and individually designed rooms in a regular house, giving the feeling of staying at a local apartment. Great integration of existing architecture, yet modern. Simple furnishings but functional, great bath room. Comfy bed. The service was very nice. The location couldnt be any better - you are right in the middle of everything and yet it is quiet at night.

Review 32:The hotel is in a historical building, very nice but without elevator. For us was no problem, but I can imagine it might be so for someone; in this case you should probably contact the staff in advance...

Review 33:The hotel and the location are wonderful, and contrary to some comments the breakfast is also very good (keep in mind that the Italian breakfast is only sweet!).

Review 34:The television and internet were out for our entire stay...weather issues...not the hotel. The staff was very apologetic, and tried to get things to work but it turned out to be a system wide problem.

Review 35:Great location looking over the square in Mantua. Even though we were right on the square, the noise was not an issue at all to us. Historic building with character still remaining, but also very modern amenities. Staff was very nice and responsive to our needs.

Review 36:Pitty we didn't stay longer...

Review 37:Everything! Reception (literally) in the piazza in front of the hotel Tastefull contemporary restoration Nice bathroom Huge room Very friendly owners

Review 38:Nothing at all.

Review 39:As they say in Australia.... location, location, location! Appartmento was excellent......well appointed, clean, comfortable and the best location in town. Just like Mantova itself. .....just beautiful

Review 40:Lighting went on and off, reported it, nothing was done. Only one key to the room. You need the key for the lights to work, so if one person wants to stay in the room and doesn't want to go downstairs to let the other person in, then they have no electricity. Toiletries were not replenished Breakfast very poor, just one coffee, one croissant and a juice.

Review 41:Large room looked onto square balcony large shower clean modern

Review 42:no elevator when you are at 4th floor is complicated to reach with baggages

Review 43:great position in city centre, stylish interiors, clean

Review 44:Accomodating staff ... facilitated early checkin after 24 hours of overseas travel

Review 45:Unfortunately, the breakfast in the neighbouring bar was poor.

Review 46:Location and room are top!

Review 47:Breakfast minimal at best but good for the diet and very fresh ! No mini bar

Review 48:Most comfortable hotel bed ever ! Room superb, pure relaxation

Review 49:No parking

Review 50:Location Nice rooms

Review 51:Poor wi-fi

Review 52:Great location

Review 53:The breakfast option is a lovely experience but the offering is way below other hotels for a similar price.

Review 54:Fantastic location.

Review 55:It was a great experience thank you.

Review 56:Lots of stairs

Review 57:Great location Cool design

Review 58:Doesn't look like much from the outside but the room was beautiful

Review 59:Good location, gorgeous room, bathroom and bathtub was amazing.

Review 60:lawaaiig

Review 61:regendouche en balkon

Review 62:Difficult to find because the apartment is not where you check in. Breakfast at a coffee shop some 150 metres away.

Review 63:Facilities modern and well done.

Review 64:Wifi poor

Review 65:Position room comfort jacuzzi

Review 66:location, atmosphere, kindness of the staff

Review 67:very difficult to reach by car.... checking in other location no elevator

Review 68:perfect room!!!

Review 69:A lovely room beautifully designed. We loved the elegant combination of new and old. The location was perfect!

Review 70:Breakfast at a local bar A bigger balcony would have been a wow!

Review 71:The room The hot tub The balcony view The whole ambience

Review 72:actually no minuses

Review 73:large room, clean style, amazing location

Review 74:IKEA furniture Noisy bed Mould in the shower Dirty toilet brush

Review 75:The location The building How the room was renovated

Review 76:Very accommodating staff and beautiful modern room with period features. Such good value for money.

Review 77:No Parking possibility nearby, for checkin and checkout. Long way to walk with luggage. Cafe where we had breakfast closed on monday at 8 :30 am.

Review 78:The Location, the shower, the cleanliness. Ist quiet and the Aircondition is very good. Personal is friendly.

Review 79:Minimalist to extreme : -general electricity control turns off lights +fridge + airco so no cold water available on arrival and room very hot-nice large room but no drawers for clothes, only one rod for hanging,no glasses, 1 plastic mug in bathroom. -Mini breakfast (1 hot drink,1cold drink, 1 croissant) -we knew there was no lift (ok, we can walk )but expected some help with cases as room was on the 4th floor -parkingavailable in centre with ticket - charged at 3 euros/day- at 620 euro/3 nights this is a complete rip-off.

Review 80:Location

Review 81:No elevator and narrow staircase but cannot be changed since it's an ancient palazzo in an renaissance city center

Review 82:incredibly large rooms for being in the old city center, great location, large italian style shower head with pressure! great tempur style mattresses, friendliness of staff. Modern style that works.

Review 83:The fact that the Breakfast place we had tickets to is not open Sundays...but they gave us a free wonderful Mantovan cake and coffee the next day to make up for it.

Review 84:The staff, the great restaurant, the fact that they came out and found us wandering in the plaza in the rain and led us to the hotel..the room is beautiful and the location is excellent.

Review 85:reception-restaurant is on the other side of the square, breakfast is in another building (3 min walk)

Review 86:awesome room, spacious and facing the central square (so good you really will have a hard time leaving for a walk out!)

Review 87:The locatio in the middle of the city , in the main piazza of Mantova , was impressive! Also the discount rate at the "Osteria delle Erbe" , where delicious eating was offer , it 's a good combination. Well done

Review 88:No English TV channels - but who goes to Mantova to watch TV, anyway? :)

Review 89:Huge, stunning room (we had a suite) with an incredibly comfortable bed and beautiful bathroom. Balcony overlooking a main square. No detail overlooked, and wonderful staff. The sister restaurant and bakery are well worth a visit - the food is as good as the rooms!

Review 90:Lots of stairs if you have heavy luggage, though proprietors will help you haul it up.

Review 91:rooms were fantastic. Newly renovated, LA-modern style in a 15th century building. All white and immaculately clean with large, state-of-the-art bathrooms. David upgraded us to a suite, which had a large living room. Perfect location in the square, yet very quiet w new windows. Outstanding value. Mantua is a fantastically charming town with great restaurants.

Review 92:Nothing special

Review 93:Wonderful location on the piazza Erbe is it located, and ran by aristorante next to the clock tower. Clean and cozy room equipped withmodern design bathroom, and has a good connection of free wifi andoffered discounts of 15% at the ristorante and 10%,"forneria", which we found later is the shop we bought a chunkof ham and failed to ask for the discount for the guest. The staff ladyis a very friendly person and good at English. We'd say the stay wasa bargain.

Review 94:No lift, which wasn't a problem for us but would be if you needed one. No chest of drawers and limited shelves a slight disadvantage.

Review 95:White, minimalist design, tastefully lit, overlooking main piazza, spacious apartment, wonderful value for money.

Review 96:A bit confusing check-in in a restaurant across the square from the suites. But findable ...

Review 97:Fantastic design and view with balcony over the square from the suite no. 1

Review 98:Could be a little noisy for light sleepers with the bell tower ringing throughout the night. Fairly limited breakfast compared to what has been offered at similar hotels in Italy. Not easy to park close by.

Review 99:This is a very centrally located hotel close to everything. The room was very spacious, modern and with a great bathroom. Our balcony offered us great views over the piazza.

Review 100:The breakfast pass for the bar " Mignin " who has terrible croassants and poor service across the street. I was expecting something more than a simple crossant with a hot beverage. it is not possible to park the car close to the hotel due to the ZTL zone ( always busy). So try not to leave staff in your car that you need for your staying.

Review 101:the residence was in p.zza delle Erbe, very central location.

Review 102:A minus would be the stairs you have to climbed to get to the different rooms (though no problem for a healthy person), and the fact that you get an Italian breakfast - coffee/tea, orange juice and 'dolce' (croissant or so) - at a café 50 meters down to road. I, however, thought it was nice to breakfast the Italian way, and among Italians. Yet, for everyone who doesn't mind a couple of stairs and looks for feeling Italy, I'd really recommend the place.

Review 103:The hotel - which is a B&B in an old building at one of the central squares of Mantua - has an excellent location (15 min walk to station, 5 min walk to Palazzo Ducale), a great traditional atmosphere, and is actually rather quiet for being located in such a central spot of town. The bed was comfy, and the discount you get at the restaurant that owns the B&B is really nice (they make their own pasta, sweets etc.).

Review 104:Parking and finding the hotel is a nightmare as it is mainly pedestrianised and controlled parking.best thing is to park and then walk to find where it is situated

Review 105:Fantastic location right in heart of beautiful city

Review 106:WifFi does not work and no real solution despite frequent emailing.Staff should listen more and more effectively.

Review 107:Chic, clean, and minimalistic Convenient to central city Goodvalue for money

Review 108:Nothing- Carrying luggage up 2 flight of stairs may be a problem to some but not for this 74 year old man.

Review 109:I liked everything about Ca' Delle Erbe Residenza- the location overlooking Erbe Piazza, the large, beautifully decorated room and the modern bathroom and Jacuzzi. It was about a 10 minute walk from the train station to Erbe Piazza. Once there it was a little difficult to find, but well worth it. Barbara was delightful and very helpful.

Review 110:turning on the shower a bit of an intelligence test.

Review 111:suited me fine. overlooks piazza, not quiet. good location. comfortable enough.turning on the showeer a bit of an intelligence test

Review 112:Hotel Staff not professional however very gentile. (maybe still not used to run hotel business?More "family business oriented", however not aligned with stylish

Review 113:suite fantastic, clean, brand new

Review 114:Lack of sufficient clothes storage facilities.

Review 115:Modern decor, lots of light & space. Privacy & great location in one of 2 adjacent main plazas.

Review 116:No Elevator, not very clean

Review 117:house in the old City Center, very modern and large room, very friendly staff.

Review 118:Breakfast is served in a bar close to the hotel. No parking available.

Review 119:The room and location

Review 120:Great space, light and design . Location excellent. Atmospheric.

Review 121:Beautiful huge room, very sparsely furnished, but comfortable, excellent location

Review 122:No lift, so if stairs are a problem--they weren't for us--be warned.

Review 123:Very convenient, ultra modern, exceptionally spacious, very comfortable.

Review 124:nella suite 4 mancava la tenda; la tv perdeva continuamente il segnale.

Review 125:Windows on the most romantic place of Mantova

Review 126:Breakfast

Review 127:Everything

Review 128:breakfast

Review 129:Wc is a design box, not very flexible with the check in/out time -breackfast very very poor in a separated bar.

Review 130:Position

Review 131:Excellent location in the marvelous city of Mantua. Very gentle and keen staff.

Review 132:Wonderful desing, the best location. The owner has a restourant in which the Hotel residents have discount. Very nice food and service.

Review 133:This is a lovely hotel. The rooms are beautifully designed. The owner was welcoming and friendly and the location is gorgeous.

Review 134:The room was large, well designed, and esthetic
