Reviews for Onomichi Guest House Anago-no-Nedoko

Review 1:The staff are all very friendly and helpful, and the quirky dorm room was well set out and made it feel more private. All round brilliant guesthouse with a tradition Japanese feel. If you go to Onomichi you must stay here.

Review 2:-the toilet is really, really far! -windows from the female dorm overlook the street, you can hear noise. -I left my clothes near the window and the next day had a terrible smell of food (from the bar below)

Review 3:Of course, there are positive aspects...

Review 4:the only thing I wasn't very impressed was the shower facility. plus if you are tall watch your head lol.

Review 5:Beautiful garden. friendly place.good location if you want to see around the town. not far from JR trains.

Review 6:The staff were kind and attentive. They told me about a place to eat that was very delicious. The place was quiet and peaceful. It's in a very interesting old building in a great location. The breakfast was reasonable, beautiful and very tasty!

Review 7:The wooden stairs to the top bunk bed is way to small. In the garden there is sometimes a little toilet smell.

Review 8:There is a lot of common space. Like the huge livng room. The building is a renovated traditional house. Very nice wooden materials, Japanese style interior. The staff is very helpfull. The restaurant serves some very tastefull options. All feels warm and relaxed.

Review 9:The wifi was hard to connect to with an iphone, and the hallways were very narrow for our 40L packs, but these are small things for an otherwise awesome stay!

Review 10:The staff was friendly and the entire place was very homey feeling!

Review 11:It was a bit noisy - but you get that with old buildings.

Review 12:This place has a lot of quirky charm. The cafe is really cool and the guests we had staying at the same time were super friendly.

Review 13:2F's toilet is in the mixed dormitory room. It's not so convenience.

Review 14:I like the design of the dormitory room. So different of other common guest house. When walking through the corridor you'll feel like flying in the tunnel of time. So interesting.

Review 15:It is not in the best location - a bit far from the train station and bike rentals, which is the most important thing - people come here to start or finish cycling trips in the Seto inland sea. I also find that having a bathroom outside is not a good idea even in the cheapest dorm.

Review 16:Staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 17:Everything is perfect.

Review 18:really liked how Anago is really a place for people to meet. I don't meet like a crazy party kind, but locals will come and pop in and you will have a good time. It's an interesting concept and very much value for money and my only regret is that I didn't spend a long enough time there.

Review 19:Beds were not very comfortable, air a little stuffy, a little pricey fora guest house, but then again this is Japan...

Review 20:Wifi, location, all female dorm option, very friendly staff

Review 21:Wasn't as functional as I would like.

Review 22:The interior was really nice & the staff was very helpful. Love the design & details. The breakfast is a killer deal & the attached cafe is very cute.

Review 23:Somewhat stuffy air in the dorms. Lots of mosquitos; the incense burned to keep them away makes everything smell of barbecue.

Review 24:Onomichi is a cool town with surprisingly much to see for its size.

Review 25:The guesthouse is a bit hard to find if you don't know where to look. It is located at Old Onomichi Station, which is not serviced by shinkansen lines. The guesthouse is located in a covered shopping arcade and has wooden paneling and usually a sculpture of some kind of animal in front. Just look carefully and you'll find it. Although the bedrooms are quite spacious, the hallways are quite narrow, so if you're tall, watch your head!

Review 26:The furnishings of this guesthouse is really cool. We stayed in a 10 person dorm that had fun bunk beds built into bookshelves along the walls. The staff is really nice and the guesthouse is a 15 min walk from Old Onomichi Station. It's a great place to stay if you intend to bike the Shimanami Kaido, as the bike rental shops and ferry pier are all quite close. This place is a great break from your average hostel.

Review 27:Had a very frustrating time finding it. Came from Kinosaki to Shin Onomichi. Nothing at the station told us we were at the wrong station, it took hours of walking and gesturing to finally realise our mistake. We needed to be at OLD Onomichi station instead. A taxi bought us in the end so without an accurate map it might be hard to find, specially as it is hidden away in a covered street.

Review 28:Very artistic and generous. Lovely art and books and very welcoming spaces. Teenager's favourite Guest Accommodation in Japan! Great having cafe attached, lovely details everywhere, e.g shower tiling. Lovely little harbour close by, looked like old Yokohama, very sweet, wished we stayed longer. The quality of the shops shops and handicrafts were exceptional, the whole town is high end art. No surprise literary greats were born here. Easy trip to Hiroshima too. Would be worth exploring by bike.

Review 29:The lack of lockers, the lack of privacy int he bunkers (they even had the curtains for each bed support but no curtains).

Review 30:I liked the japanese style that the guest house presented.

Review 31:Pillow is too low.

Review 32:Small space

Review 33:old japanese sytle , nice

Review 34:Really funny and nice building, telephone team Was really nice and helpfull.

Review 35:the staff are lovely and helpfull

Review 36:An interesting and comfortable hostel with a good location. Don't miss the bar!

Review 37:Slight evening noise.

Review 38:Atmosphere. And spacious private room

Review 39:More shower spaces would be appreciated. Staircase are very narrow.

Review 40:Clean and convenient Japanese style place. Good wifi provided.

Review 41:The bunk bed was a bit too short for me (I am 1.8 meter tall)

Review 42:Nice living room, well equipped kitchen Good location Nice staff, very helpful

Review 43:los que trabajan son muy amables como todos los japones y la casa es formidable.

Review 44:I am 1.8 meter and the bed was a bit short for me... But ok.

Review 45:Nice ambience, friendly people, good facilities, large kitchen and cosy common space

Review 46:The place was cool, I really like the way how the rooms were set out. The staffs were nice and friendly. Cosy little place.

Review 47:Leaving.

Review 48:Great staff, large custom made dorm beds, relaxing common area, many restaurants close-by, 10-minute walk to train station.

Review 49:Nothing.

Review 50:It's impressive and reasonable price but high quality. Unique and attractive guesthouse with local Japanese style. I could feel relax and refresh myself after traveling Good services and facilities. The staffs are very friendly.

Review 51:Old house with a interesting layout in a long shopping arcadein Onomichi. Interior beautifully restpred and renovated and run by a young team. Theres also a nice Café in the same building at ground level.

Review 52:Very nice and helpfull staff. We could even join a Chinese foodfest which was not only fun but also delicious. So far the best real Japanese 'home' feeling.

Review 53:The traditional Japanese desk with warm conditioning makes the common area very cozy. the staff are nice and friendly to talk to. I consider this guesthouse to be warm home for travelers with lights waiting for them, especially in a seaport town like onomichi.:)

Review 54:Was a really awesome location. Great staff. Really good showers, clean and comfortable. Cool dorms with heaps of room

Review 55:The staff was really nice and helpful
