Reviews for Hotel La Vedetta
Review 1:Being very picky - the pillows were hard.
Review 2:We had a nice well furnished room on the ground floor (so easy with our dog). Lovely restaurant and food and friendly staff. Private parking.
Review 3:The bathroom was huge as well, but very basic and with no thrills. If you like to hike, I advise to buy official real trail/walking maps of the area. Several signs were missing along our trip by foot. This is not the fault of the hotel.
Review 4:We've stayed 3 delicious days at the hotel. Our room was huge with two nice views from our room. Every time when we entered and stayed in our room it makes me happy. Because of the space, the light, the heigh ceilings, the Italian interior (very taste full). And after a day of hard "working" (=walking thru the country/mountain, hills) we've eaten (and drinking) the stars from the heaven. The hotel has a restaurant with excellent Italian dishes. We also like the location of the hotel, cause from this location you can walk trails of 7-9 km (4-5 hours). Ask for maps at the reception.
Review 5:Staff incompetent. They don't speak much of anything else than Italian. On of the front desk clerk kept saying 'I'll ask my manager '. No feedback from any of the staff. They put everything in their restaurant but take no care of the Hotel guests or their room. Rooms need some fresh paint and new furniture. The walls are bared and there is no complementary welcome stuff. It's basically 'here is your key and manage'. The rooms are not well cleaned at all. Breakfast is kind of ok but their juice or what they call juice is litteraly undrinkable. If you want a hot chocolate you have to pay 2 extra euros. The parking is not big enough if the hotel is full. In the evening it's all taken by cars from people who goes to the restaurant. This place is not well managed and the manager doesn't care for hotel guest. They should invest some of the money they make from the restaurant into improving their room. Also there is a bar. The front desk clerk has to serve guests at the bar. The prices on the menu on the wall don't match the ones on your check out bill. We stayed there 8 nights. Big mistake. Don't go there or no more than 2-3 nights max. For the location maybe. Not for the service.
Review 6:Panoramic terrace. Hotel located in a quite and remote place
Review 7:Nothing.
Review 8:The location: it is on Montenero - a mountain above the city of Livorno with lovely views all around. Away from the busyness of the city it's a quiet place. Staff were welcoming and helpful.
Review 9:Came in late after a 14 hour drive. The reception was rude and unpleasant. The lady talked behind our back in Italian which I understand a bit. Almost made a fight about it. Decided to leave it and take the insults. Be warned!
Review 10:Bed
Review 11:Hotel is getting slighly dated and needs furnishing before too long.
Review 12:Beautiful setting on a mountaintop, well-hidden but worth finding! The hotel restaurant serve fantastic food at good prices. No need to go anywhere else for dinner! Rooms good in size.
Review 13:A car is required to get there, WiFi not good in rooms and thought they could have had coffee/tea facilities for free or in room.
Review 14:The location was perfect, very quiet, excellent facilities and very friendly, helpful staff.
Review 15:The view from our room was lovely we were looking out across the bay to the town which was about a 30 min walk around the bay but there was a very handy water taxi that ferried us across to shorten the journey to the "old town"
Review 16:Dangerous route to the hotel is not indicated on your site! Far from everything ex. a sanctuary. Not an ideal choise as a basis for excursions.
Review 17:Nice view from the terrasse, fair breakfast, good bed
Review 18:Hard to find as road signs limited until within a kilometer. Google maps disguises how hilly it is! Parking is tight but secure once you are there.
Review 19:Location is superb, and the adjacent Sanctuary and local square a lovely place to visit. Hotel very cool and spacious and breakfast was great.
Review 20:- difficult access to the hotel. It is located in Montenero which is 5 km south of Livorno. Very narrow winding (even dangerous, according to my wife) road leads to the hotel; - very weak WiFi signal, it was impossible to download maps in order to plan next day's trips; - poor selection of items for breakfast; - Parking place is not guaranteed within the premises of the hotel and it is difficult to find parking place in close proximity at the narrow and steep streets.
Review 21:- Panoramic view from the terrace of the hotel; - Comfortable bed; - Nice dinner and good wine of the house at the hotel's restaurant.
Review 22:Beds could have been a bit firmer....difficult to find...in the hills above Livorno about 15 mins from the port
Review 23:Great family room, large bathroom, courteous staff, nice breakfast (put on especially early for us as we had to catch a ferry)........
Review 24:We got a superior room for the same price as a standard room!
Review 25:Old furniture
Review 26:Nice place and visual at the city
Review 27:Wifi wasn't strong and matresse of the bed!!
Review 28:Amazing view and friendly staff
Review 29:location and breakfast
Review 30:The hotel was in a great location, although the drive up was interesting. The staff were very helpful and friendly and we loved our stay here.
Review 31:-
Review 32:very nice location; large 5 bed room; very clean; very friendly and helpful staff
Review 33:hotel charmant, style italien tres typique.
Review 34:wifi useless in room
Review 35:value for money and great location- nice town with lively Italians and atmosphere
Review 36:Staff understood little or no English, average quality of food, no swimming pool
Review 37:Very nice location, wonderful view, price-quality balance ok
Review 38:Breakfast was limited (toast, butter, gem and croissants).
Review 39:Nice location but hard to get to it.
Review 40:staff friendliness hit and miss
Review 41:beautiful view
Review 42:There's not much to dislike here. I can see that if don't want to eat at the hotel, restaurants in the vicinity are restricted to two, neither of which was open on the evening we were there.
Review 43:This was our second stay in 2 weeks. It is most convenient for the Ferry port to Corsica at the same time as being in a very peaceful location. We had the same room again with view in two different directions. Everyone was friendly and the rooms very clean and comfortable. We ate at the hotel again and had a good 3-course meal for 20 Euros each.
Review 44:The plastic shower curtain!
Review 45:The hotel was fairly easy to find with the satnav and is in a wonderful, peaceful position high above Livorno. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had an early start to catch a ferry and they put breakfast on early for us. The rooms are large and airy. The bathroom was also large and was effectively a 'wet-room' only spoil by a plastic shower curtain. It is about 20 minutes to the port by car.
Review 46:No restaurants open nearby off-season. However we found an excellent restaurant in walking distance: Osteria Fonte del Penitente. This was not mentioned by the staff at the hotel.
Review 47:The history of the villa
Review 48:It's not easy to reach as there are NO signs whatoever until the last 200m from the hotel. The wilreless is not free and it's really a shame considering is not that busy and most of the guests are old people visiting the nearby church.
Review 49:The location is spectacular, overlooking LIvorno and the Thyrrenian see. If you are looking for some serious sunset view... that's worth a visit.
Review 50:Getting completely lost!
Review 51:A quiet sanctuary away from th hustle and bustle tucked away not in Livorno but Montenero, in the hills behind the city. Yes it is hard to find and needs better signage but if you find your way to the village square and church, it is right there up a small roadway
Review 52:To hard to find if don't drive a car, had to climb mountain to reach the hotel.
Review 53:Staff were friendly, room clean and comfort, breakfast not many choice but ok.
Review 54:It was possible to take the evening meal at the hotel, good quality andlow price. The personal of the hotel was very kind, and full ofattention, good advice etc.... the view from the "terraces" areamazingly superb....
Review 55:Room cleanliness can be improved at the arrival (The few) broken items could be replaced
Review 56:Really friendly people at the reception Quiet atmosphere and italian/mediterranean village feeling The view from the terrasse on the sea and nature is fantastic
Review 57:tutto perfetto
Review 58:Very dirty. No cleaning after request.
Review 59:Narrow roads.
Review 60:Location had spectacular views and offered a taste of authentic Tuscan village life.
Review 61:great view, very nice service, delicious breakfast
Review 62:Car Parking
Review 63:Location
Review 64:The room could have been cleaner. The hotel is a bit run down. It is ina small town.
Review 65:Staff was great, the food nice.
Review 66:cleanliness was poor
Review 67:excellent view
