Reviews for Dormy Inn Takamatsu
Review 1:There is a drinks vending machine next to the lift on each floor. If your room is too close to the lift you hear people using this machine and the banging of a canned drink as its delivered until early hours of the morning.
Review 2:Free noodles provided each evening
Review 3:Our only reservations had to do with the size of rooms, a bit tight for two of us, but comfortable within those constraints. We asked about larger rooms but learned that all rooms were the same size.
Review 4:The 11th floor onsen is a great resource, freely available from 3:00 in the afternoon through the night until 10:00 in the morning. The hotel supplies loose-fitting pants and a top that guests are invited to wear not only to and from the onsen but elsewhere in other public areas of the hotel--and many guests do, as at the generous first-floor breakfasts or at the 9:30-11:00 free udon servings each night, which were a treat. The staff proved very helpful in responding to our various requests.
Review 5:I cannot think of anything in particular.
Review 6:The hotel is conveniently located in the city center (accessible to various udon stands nearby). There is an artificial onsen upstairs, which is quite good. I liked their simple udon breakfast. Reasonably priced.
Review 7:The public baths were surprisingly good quality. Breakfast had a wide selection of western and Japanese options, with an emphasis on local specialties. Staff were helpful and offered suggestions for nearby dinner restaurants.
Review 8:none
Review 9:friendly and helpfull staff, free laundry service (dryer must be paid for, very little however), clean (as always in Japan), location in the direct vicinity of shops and 'eating & drinking', exellent PT connection to Takamatsu TS.
Review 10:Very comfortable rooms, spotless clean, maybe a bit small. You can use the onsen on the roof top for free. Free noodles in the evening, very good breakfast for just 600y.
Review 11:The shower stall in the room smelled a bit (not a big issue side using the onsen is preferable anyway)
Review 12:Good location (close to station and the garden, also an arcade with several restaurants). Breakfast was a really good deal (lots of good food for a low price). The onsen on the roof was lovely and very recommended.
Review 13:The room was looking a bit old.The Dormy inn in Tokyo had an espresso machine, the coffee in Takamatsu was bit as good.
Review 14:The communal bath like all Dormy Inns was a highlight. The staff was helpful and the room comfortable.
Review 15:Nothing, except that the air conditionning could be less noisy (but it didn't keep us from sleeping).
Review 16:Very friendly and helpfull staff, nice atmosphere and decoration, very clean. The onsen is beautiful. There was even free ice cream in the lobby on the first evening ! Very good experience, would definitely recommend it.
Review 17:Although the room was little small, we understand it's the Japanese standard.
Review 18:We enjoyed free breakfast - it was nice to have the local specialty udon noodle at breakfast. We also impressed that they have onsen on site. The room was very clean and the hotel is located within the walking distance from the Kawaramachi rail station which is in the city center, so many choices of restaurants and bars around the hotel.
Review 19:walking with luggage to the hotel from JR station or pier can be too much for someone but you can take a bus (get off at the right stop) and it just take you a couple of minutes to walk to the hotel.
Review 20:1. Phone recharge wire (for iphone, android and other kinds) is on desk in place. 2. wifi connection is stable and not slow (good enough for youtube) 3. free noodle after 9pm was a plus though it's not very delicious but you can't complain anything. the chef is nice and polite. 4. onsen facility and sauna is in place and helps you relax (though it's not natural) 5. shopping malls and shops are almost just downstairs.
Review 21:Bathroom cleanliness, but hey, didn't use the shower at all since there is a great bath
Review 22:Double room was bigger than expected for japanese standards, comfortable bed, free wifi, lovely hot japanese bath with outdoor bath and sauna on the top floor, breakfast which is definitely worth for the small additional charge, free noodles at night and conveniently located to restaurants, convenience store and karaoke
Review 23:nothing
Review 24:All. The super welcome when we arrived with a guy who speak a bit of french trying every thing to be nice with us. The 2 rooms we have for 3 days was clean, nice, comfortable. The 2 Onsen on the top the the hotel are one of the best we saw. They offer you a nice warm soup after the bath every evening... Really great place. And they have a car park.
Review 25:Helpful staff, free washing and drying machines for catching up with our laundry, coffee machine in lobby all day, free umbrellas to borrow if raining, range of food at breakfast.
Review 26:I wish they had a full size restaurant, but what they had for Breakfastwas ok. I would also like to have had a little bigger in room shower. What they had was a bit small, other wise the room was very nice. For .
Review 27:The room was quite dirty - ground in stains on the entire carpet. I don't think I have ever seen carpet that dirty outside of a seedy bar. Stains on walls and curtains. The bed was very uncomfortable - even for a single person, let alone a couple. It was a good 4-6 inches higher in the middle, and rolled off at the edges. Very uncomfortable, got maybe 2 hours total of interrupted sleep all night. Noisy - On the 6th floor the street noise was loud enough to wake us up multiple times. Services - Planned to print boarding passes at their "business center". Printer wasn't working. Had to request paper by the sheet from the front desk staff. Finally gave up and went to the airport early.
Review 28:Cheap (11,000 Yen) Location was good - only 10-15 minute walk from JR station and Ferry Pier. Very close to 2 covered shopping streets. Staff tried to be helpful with the few requests we had.
Review 29:Nothing really. Breakfast was a bit short (until 8:45) if you want to sleep late (e.g. with jet lag). No non-japanese TV channels, but you can't really complain about that.
Review 30:Comfortable, clean and bigger than average room (for Japan). Good breakfast and complementary noodles in the evening. Hot spring was very good for relaxing. WiFi OK. Central location just next to the pedestrian streets. A taxi ride from the JR train station was only 800 Yen.
Review 31:It is a bit far from the station and port but close enough.
Review 32:It was great to find a modern hotel with a communal onsen. It's very close to shopping.
Review 33:The weather was rainy --- oh, wait --- that wasn't their fault :) I can't think of anything else.
Review 34:Public bath --- wohoo! Why can't we have these in the US? Breakfast buffet --- awesome! Amazing grilled fish restaurant 5 min into the nearby arcade. Ferry to Naoshima a short cab or bus ride away.
Review 35:Breakfast buffet and free late night ramen were unexpectedly good! Staff were helpful and friendly. Rooms were small but more than adequate, and we were only there to sleep. For the money this place was absolutely perfect!
Review 36:staff were very accommodating. We arrived as a Typhoon was hitting Shikoku and the staff allowed for an early check-in as a result. The hotel was clean, cozy and had a great onsen!
Review 37:Room was clean and a good size. Free noodles in the evenings are great and the rooftop onsen is just what you need after a long day. Staff were friendly and helpful and it's well located near the entertainment district although a bit of a walk from the JR station. It would be quick to get to in a taxi however so not really a problem. Overall a good relaxing stay and a good base to visit Naoshima or the surrounding islands.

Review 44:Both staffs are so warm and so helpful and the free night ramen was good too!
Review 45:Everything about accommodation was great, Takamatsu city itself didn't have much to see.

Review 90:Second time stay there. Always like the roof spa with japanese music. they provide free coffe & tea in the front desk, night free Udon now (I go out for a drink and didn't try)! Quit amazing
Review 91:A very pleasant experience. Convenient spot and not far from train station. Next to main streets where restaurants & shops are located. Clean, tidy and very comfortable room. Excellent service ! Hot noodles night food is a highlight. Highly recommended to all holidaymakers !
Review 92:Take a walk from Takamatsu JR station, about 15 minutes, you are there. The hotel is in the center of an arcades shopping streets, very convenient with shopping and restaurants. The private tram station, Kotoden-Kawaramachi-station is 3 minutes away from the hotel. The breakfast is good and simple but if you want to try Udon-noodle which is famous in the area, a cook prepares for you. This hotel is in a business class but it belongs to a better class of them.
Review 93:It's one of the japanese hotels that still forbids tattooed peopleon it's public baths. If I had known it in advance I would not havestayed there.
Review 94:claustrophobic room with very small double bed (only 140cm) No english buttons on the ac control with at least 20 buttons. Even staff could not exactly explain how it worked.
Review 95:Nice staff. There were good english speakers. Good facilities. Free self laudry. Nice breakfast for only Y 500 and free noodles at night
Review 96:There were so many really great things about this hotel: the staff were extremely helpful, the baths are beautiful, the facilities (and massages) are super, the rooms were a good size and comfy, and it is in a great location, right next to many shops and restaurants
Review 97:Very clean, good air-conditioning. Nice spa on the top floor. Free coffee in the lobby. Friendly and helpful staff. Kept our bags for us for a few hours before and after check-in so we could see the neighbourhood. It was in an interesting part of town near shopping and nightlife. Taxi from JR station was only 710 yen.
Review 98:Lack of room Wifi
Review 99:Though not plush, the hotel was very comfortable considering the price. Very clean, and the staff was tried very hard to please. About a 15-20 min hike to the train station, but much of it along the covered arcade. In the center of the city action.
