Reviews for Hotel Filippo II

Review 1:Ìt was a very beautiful hotel. We had a huge suite with magic views of a bay. It was quiet and private. Unfortunately the weather was not good, so we weren't able to sit outside. However, we had a drink on our terrace before driving into town to a fabulous restaurant recommended by the hotel. We arrived too late in the year to enjoy the restaurant at the hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Review 2:Quality of the breakfast could be better. A big choice but nothing really fresh (besides the sweet cornetti). If you have to eat your breakfast inside (windy weather), the room is very unpleasant and poorly decorated

Review 3:The hotel is situated on a hill above the sea. The view from the appartment down to the sea is great. The room was very spacious. Living room bedroom and bathroom separated. People at the front desk are very friendly and helpful.

Review 4:They were so accommodating and so helpful with everything we needed!! Some of the best service I've ever had at a hotel!! Would definitely go back!!!

Review 5:The hotel was very relaxing , staff very friendly and the views over the bay were great. We ate at the hotel most of the time and the menu was excellent. We would definitely stay here again. Quaint

Review 6:The breakfast offerings were a bit biased towards sweet items which was not to our liking but there were some other options but a little limited.

Review 7:The quiet location somewhat removed from the hustle and bustle. The staff were more than just helpful, they were excellent.

Review 8:Everything was pretty clean except maybe under the beds, we kept sneezing when we were in the bedroom, shower was perfect but we had to hold the shower head since there was no support!

Review 9:The size of the appartment and the interior, the seaview, the nice terasse, the location, the nice breakfast, baby friendly

Review 10:The narrow entrance from a curve in the road.

Review 11:Everything. Big suite tipe clean rooms with incredible views of the bay. Great breakfast, good dinning and the help special.Sabrina,Piero,Primo etc.Thanks.

Review 12:Nothing

Review 13:Everthing. The view from the room and the hotel is amazing. Breakfest is rich and good. The staff is very nice always ready to help. Our room was very big.

Review 14:Nothing to do with the hotel other than an incredible wind storm! Exciting but rather noisy through the whistling shutters.

Review 15:The hotel was so kind as to give us an upgrade to a 2 bedroom suite. The breakfasts were wonderful, the view amazing! Loved the walk into Porto Santo Stefano.

Review 16:The view from the balcony was like out of a film. The service from everyone in the hotel was so natural and friendly and very professional. They could not do enough for us. Sitting on the wharf and swimming from the wharf was a wonderful experience - the water was warm and so clean.

Review 17:really enjoyed the hotel and setting. they have a dock that guests can enjoy sitting on with umbrellas, chairs etc... and you can swim off the dock - all nice - but if they had a pool it would be perfect.

Review 18:loved the location and the view from our room on the water side!

Review 19:Spacious bathroom, albeit very dated. Cramped shower cabin, slightly frayed towels, etc. Beds and pillows were too hard for our liking.

Review 20:Stopped for a night on our way to Rome. Nice location high atop a hill with plenty of parking and for some rooms, a view of the bay - we overlooked the parking lot... Largish suite-like rooms with separate bedroom, sitting room with kitchenette and balcony. Dining on the terrace was very nice and delicious, but pricey. Breakfast was nothing special. Overall an OK stay.

Review 21:Steep hike down to the hotels jetty (lots of steps) so not ideal for any struggling with walking or getting around.

Review 22:Lovely hotel situated on a steep rocky headland just before Porta Santa Stefano. It's a typical Italian hotel and decor lots of chintz and wood, but equally, clean with really helpful staff who cant do enough for you. They upgraded our room to a view of the bay, which was stunning, especially on the first night when it was a full moon. It was beautiful.

Review 23:The view from our room was great. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable. Food was excellent and served in our room one evening wen my daughter was unwell.

Review 24:Their was no pool The beach was nonexistent and not easily accessible. The room very Spartan The shower, only a hole in the tile floor and a plastic curtain

Review 25:The view but the balcony had a wall so sitting inside or even on the balcony you couldn't see the sea

Review 26:Facilities and breakfast were very limited for what was quite an expensive hotel. Also think the booking.com review process is rigged as i tried reducing all the opinions to poor and the score did not go below 7.1 !

Review 27:Location and views

Review 28:The wi-fi is a bit haphazard, but mostly fine. One of our apartments on the first floor faced towards the car park, and was incredibly dark, even with the shutters open. More lighting needed. Our other apartment only had a hand held above bath shower which did not have an attachment on the wall. Minor inconveniences. The hotel has the space, and would benefit from, a pool.

Review 29:The location of the hotel, whilst being a bit out of town, is in the most stunning location. The views alone are worth paying for. There is a small jetty area with deckchairs for sunning yourself, and there is a lifeguard there who will provide towels, sunshades, a cold beer etc. The hotel staff were lovely, polite, helpful and with a good sense of humour.

Review 30:Ate dinner in hotel one night. It wasn't good & overpriced.

Review 31:Great view, 15 minute walk to Porto Santo Stephano along car free path.lovely jetty at hotel with deck chairs, parasols etc. Room was spotless. Breakfast very good .

Review 32:Stunning location, friendly staff and the private jetty made this a perfect overnight stay before our flight back from Fiumicino. We loved the walk along the old train line into Porto Santo Stefano, as well as its pebbly beaches and clear waters. The jetty was an exceptional place to cool down and relax during the uncharacteristic heatwave. Overall a perfect last night - peaceful, relaxed and picturesque.

Review 33:Small irritation - having to re-enter the same wifi voucher code every day. . As a non meat eater I would have liked some tomatoes, cucumber and olives with breakfast!

Review 34:Great private jetty -pretty gardens- v helpful staff - good coffee, home made biscuits and fresh fruit salad among the breakfast choices

Review 35:Everything is old and needs renovation. For example our room smelled a bit like a bar because of tobacco. The curtain in the bathroom just kept falling down because the pole it was attached to was simply broken. It was one of the most expensive hotels we have taken during our trip, and I think that the price is basically for the view. Also be careful when getting to the swimming deck, because you have to cross the small road and watch out for the cars. Hotel staff help was ok but quite limited. I needed to carry all my bags myself into the elevator and all the way to the room.

Review 36:The hotel has a great view and is clean enough. Swimming deck is great for diving, you can get to see various stuff under water, like sea urchins, small crabs and starfish. Breakfast was very simple but ok.

Review 37:The interior design is not exceptional for a 4-stars hotel and the staff rather cold (at least with us).

Review 38:Excellent location. Great view and easy access to the sea and to all attractions in Porto Santo Stefano.

Review 39:They had a dock to sit on and swim from. Would have been great if they had a beach club you could utilize.

Review 40:Great spot. Lovely accommodations. Quiet. Very nice people work here. Ask and they will help. Loved that we could walk to town. Not easily done in this area.

Review 41:Breakfast was ignorable.

Review 42:The view from the rooms facing the sea is breathtaking. Both room and balcony were very spacious, a small wooden pier serves as the Hotel's swimming spot.

Review 43:The wifi at the hotel was spotty. You needed to get a code from the reception but the code did not always work. It was rather weak in-room. The food at the restaurant was below average at least for lunch.

Review 44:Amazing view from a very large room. It was very comfortable with a big balcony and big fridge. Since the hotel has no beach, it has a deck so that you could swim and sunbathe. This meant there were less children around. The hotel was very quiet.

Review 45:Beautiful view, privat swiming platform, easy 20 min walk to the Porto Santo Stefano through closed road and tunnels. Free parking and internet. Not suitable for families with small children

Review 46:A lot of the plates on the breakfast buffer were empty, and we had to ask the staff every day to find more bread, cheese, meat ect.

Review 47:Great location. Clean.

Review 48:This is beautiful property that is well maintained. The entire staff was very accomdating, food was great and the view was awesome. Exceeded our expectations on all levels

Review 49:Nothing to dislike.

Review 50:Very convenient easily found location. Extremely helpful and pleasant staff. Delightful open air sea view restaurant with varied menu choices and wine list. Welcoming outside terrace for an afternoon aperitif.Buffet and special order breakfast offered.

Review 51:I'd like to recommend placing a veil in the bedrooms window of the ground floor apartment. On the windows facing the corridor. That way the passenger can open the black out curtains, letting the light enters the room, and without getting exposed to the corridor at the same time.

Review 52:What’s not to love? Very well located in the charming Monteargentario Island. The staff is super helpful, the views are amazing, the food and breakfast delicious.

Review 53:Noisy upstairs neighbours! Why do people consider furniture rearrangement (at 03:00 in the morning!!) to be a socially-acceptable pastime? You really need to drive to find any decent dinner dining options (hotel excluded - which we didn't try).

Review 54:Location can't be beaten - complete with own private pontoon to swim from / sunbathe on (beware the occasional sea urchin!). Amazing views. Decent choice at breakfast. Good parking availability.

Review 55:Loud air conditioners

Review 56:Almost everything, in particular - very friendly and helpful personnel: Ilaria and Gianni at the reception, people serving breakfast...

Review 57:Staff friendly Room excellent with balcony off main room and bedroom. Good restaurant Beautiful views over the bay Wonderful sea jetty below to relax by the ocean. Car parking on site

Review 58:This is minor but the room water isn't potable, really should supply say a litre per person. Having said that we just grabbed a few big bottles in town and all good.

Review 59:Great location, staff were fantastic and couldn't help enough. Restaurant food was good, not cheap but also not ridiculous. Breakfast was great with plenty of choice, remember to ask for eggs if you want them. Would have stayed longer if we could have, so relaxing.

Review 60:The price of the hotel and star rating suggested it would have a higher quality feel to it. However, the room felt very dated and the en-suite was disappointing - more like a wet room as not shower cubicle.

Review 61:The location was beautiful, we had a large balcony overlooking the bay and there's a fantastic swimming area with deck chairs and a life guard. The room was a great space, with separate bedroom and living space as well as the en-suite

Review 62:the bathroom needs to be renovated. we and the kids took cold showers because their was a problem with the system that controls the mixing of hot and cold water.

Review 63:the location, the best we ever had. the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Review 64:D`not have a beach, there is a place for sunbathing but swim very difficult if the waves

Review 65:Very comfortable hotel offers guest rooms with a kitchen, you can come for a long time. Beautiful view! The staff is great! Special thanks to the girl at the front desk solved in a minute all of our requests:) I advise you to visit the island restaurant - Il Pellicano, just a 15-minute drive away. The holder of 2 Michelin stars! Mmmm....delicious))))

Review 66:The Views were stunning, and the staff very polite and friendly, we ate in the hotel restaurant in the evening and the food and wine were very good value for money and delicious.

Review 67:Not really connected with the hotel its own. Traffic if you go Porto santo Stafano

Review 68:Came here for a second time. Staff is awesome. The sea view is like therapy.

Review 69:second week of august...it doesn't come cheap. decoration of the room could be better

Review 70:go for a room with a view towards the sea, it is beautiful! The staff is 5* plus!

Review 71:You need a car, can't just walk to amenities or out for dinner.

Review 72:The staff were so attentive and the rooms were more like apartments. Great discount and complimentary breakfast.

Review 73:Maybe to have a proper shower and not just a handheld over the bath

Review 74:Staff couldn't do enough to help. Got a free upgrade to a room with a sea view and what a view. Food great. All round excellent time

Review 75:The ac and getting it fixed

Review 76:Decently located for Porto santo stefano. Lots of free parking. We had a problem with our ac and it was a problem to get fixed. They discounted us fairly. They had good information about things to do.

Review 77:family friendly, great swimming dock off back of hotel, walking distance to the port through old train tunnel, very nice balcony and ocean views, excellent breakfast

Review 78:Having to leave

Review 79:Location unbeatable, short walk to bus stop which ran to town regularly.Big rooms with the best view of sea from any room and a huge veranda. But the best thing was the staff, unbelievably friendly and helpful even though poor Gianni lost his voice after going to a rolling Stones concert in Rome the nite before our arrival and the front desk girl (whose name I have forgotten) even offered to drive us to town in her car any time we wanted.

Review 80:Excellent private location with great views, a very pleasant swimming and lounging area in the sea below the hotel and very helpful and informative staff. A little bit removed from the centre of town which we really liked.

Review 81:Maybe the price of the room was a little higher than it should be.

Review 82:The hotel was more than I expected. The room was very big and clean and the view was spectacular. The staff is very polite as well.

Review 83:Not easy to walk anywhere, but then, the place was so nice, you didn't feel like leaving!

Review 84:Peaceful, quiet. Clean, good restaurant, and excellent swim pier.

Review 85:The nearest town is not very interesting, but there are many other places close by worth exploring

Review 86:Good restaurant, wonderful swimming area, very friendly and helpful staff

Review 87:Just beautiful!! Staff excellent

Review 88:Excellentt in every way.

Review 89:Hard to drive into narrow winding road with very little space for passing another car!

Review 90:Helpful staff, very clean rooms, great view.

Review 91:Food possibly a little overpriced in restaurant

Review 92:Location is fantastic

Review 93:showers uses plastic curtain! I haven't seen that in a 4 stars hotel since Bangkok 1990.

Review 94:no wifi at all, it's just a standard 3-star hotel

Review 95:Good sea view

Review 96:Stunning views. Great jetty to swim into the sea. 20 minute walk into the port.

Review 97:Too expensive

Review 98:Friendly welcome

Review 99:Great location, but feels a little basic for the price.

Review 100:Very friendly professional staff that makes you feel at home and welcome

Review 101:steps everywhere, the hotel restaurant is the worst in Tuscany (I have ever been to)

Review 102:a nice small molo only for hotel guests, great place

Review 103:Wonderful accommodations with spectacular views. Very accommodating for our family and went out of their way to meet our needs.

Review 104:The shower

Review 122:View, location, charm, access to sea.
