Reviews for Byblos Art Hotel Villa Amistà

Review 1:Wish there had been facility for hot drinks in the room. Tea in the morning is a must. They will obviously do room service at a cost.

Review 2:A really unusual quirky hotel. So much to look at. Beautiful driveway entrance, amazing reception area .Room was spacious, free shuttle to Verona was great.Staff really helpful and friendly.

Review 3:the hotel is not open to the gardens. The restaurant was just to quite. The should have put a big flowerarrangement in the restaurant. The food was great!

Review 4:It is a strange hotel. The area is not perfect but once incide the compound things are beautiful. The building is an old countryhouse. Inside it is half ould and half modern. Not everymans taste.

Review 5:Service in the bar area was very poor. We went twice and both times had to find someone to serve us, and the second time we waited for over 15 minutes.

Review 6:Fantastic building and amazing artwork. Great pool.

Review 7:Hard beds, noise above the room, to far from town, very expensive breakfast, same menu every day at dinner. No free water, no tea or coffee making available.

Review 8:Staff were wonderful very helpful. We had to move rooms in the end and they did all they could to help. The hotel was an art fans dream world. if you did not like the sort of art displayed then you would have a big problem staying there. You need to have an open mind.

Review 9:we stayed for just one night en route to the Milan expo but wished it could have been longer. everything was perfect with a beautiful room on the second floor of the main house reached via a balcony across the magnificent entrance hall decorated with marvellous art and sculptures.

Review 10:Hotel decor, grounds and facilities were fabulous. Numerous places to sit and relax, staff always available to assist whether for food, drink or information. Excellent free shuttle service into the centre of Verona.

Review 11:The mosquitoes attacked the minute we opened the window, so we kept it closed the remainder of the stay.

Review 12:Very comfortable chairs in the reception area and a great location to relax with a bottle of prosecco after dinner. Great service. I really enjoyed this place and wished I could have stayed longer to explore...

Review 13:Bedrooms were very dark. The art throughout the hotel was a bit 'in your face' initially, but we got used to it v quickly. I wouldn't be happy with young children though, some art was very explicit.

Review 14:Good location. Explored Verona, Lake Garda, Milan and Venice easily. Helped us source a v interesting winery visit. Courtesy bus was available into Verona but we didn't use it. Staff v friendly and helpful

Review 15:I guess it is a matter of taste but we felt like being in an amusement park more than being in an art hotel. The entrance hall is beautiful but the rest of the property is very poorly done.

Review 16:Room cleaning was a bit erratic.

Review 17:Staff and setting were both excellent. Have stayed several times over the last ten years mainly to see opera in Verona but the hotel is ideal for holiday location.

Review 18:The pool area was very crowded. We were like little sardines squeezed into 3 rows. Not the poolside weekend I was hoping for. The pools filtering system also made tons of noise. Our room had very very small windows. Most of the staff seemed very inexperienced. It just wasn't up to level. When you go to a 5 star hotel you really expect them to exceed in service in everything and unfortunately that happened in nothing here.

Review 19:You go there to be shocked by the contrast and the art and that is what happens. The grounds are very nice and well kept (except for the lounging at the pool).

Review 20:The rooms don't have tea making and the shower was definitely designed by a man lol

Review 21:Loved the gardens and the attention to detail. Gorgeous art!

Review 22:Byblos is full of some of the best art pieces I've ever seen, but totally accessible located in unexpected places around the hotel. Ricciardo the Salvador Dali lookalike manager and his team are great fun and incredibly friendly, there is nothing elitist about Byblos. The girls on reception spent an hour pulling strings to sort out a problem on our hire car, we would have been in deep trouble without their help. Everything about Byblos is magical, we love it so much we plan to marry there.

Review 23:Breakfast@ EUR 28 is overpriced

Review 24:Art collection, staff, grounds, swimming pool, room, good recommendations for restaurants in Valpolicella. Everything was perfect. Verona is just over 15 min drive. The hotel has a shuttle service.

Review 25:Food was not wonderful. The choice at breakfast was very limited and the service was somewhat lackadaisical. Pool staff were very nice but the food choices and quality were not what one would expect from a hotel of this standard.

Review 26:Loved the decor, although sofas and chairs owed more to style than comfort. There was a lovely pool area. The shuttle service was also very good.

Review 27:The food is disgusting and outrageously priced. A continental breakfast is 45 dollars each!!!! They charge for internet and it doesn't work! The windows leak on the rain.

Review 28:The room was lovely and the pool was great.

Review 29:Saturday morning breakfast was a disaster. Not enough staff to provide any kind of relaxed service, which would have been nice after our very late night at the opera. They were running around in circles. It certainly wasn't what we expected from a 5 star hotel.

Review 30:Beautiful setting. Lovely restored villa filled with Byblos modern art collection. A great deal of the art is of very graphic nudity, which one member of our party found offensive. The rooms are artfully decorated which again, would not be to everyone's taste. Comfortable beds & nice bathrooms. The hotel provides a shuttle service to the center of Verona, plus to & from the opera.

Review 31:Restaurant very over priced and left feeling hungry. Only had one meal as a result. Went into Verona for every other meal. Also, would have liked complimentary water and tea and coffee facilities in room.

Review 32:Very nice hotel and staff very helpful. Location perfect, especially with the shuttle bus service.

Review 33:Wonderful please and top Service

Review 34:Very nice butic hotel,my favorite, but if you not reservation for dinner, menu is poor,For dinner menu must have be more alternativies...

Review 35:A Clockwork Orange in Italy.

Review 36:The staff was amazing and helped us with a lot of things to do in the nearby area! The food in the restaurant was also a great experience!

Review 37:Very interesting. Art everywhere. The colors !

Review 38:The best hotel iv stayed in. A must visit by all travelling in and around Verona

Review 39:Staff were very friendly and helpful. Fantastic decor, grounds and service.

Review 40:Friendly staff all ways willing to help

Review 41:Ambience

Review 42:While not cheap certainly worth the adventure traveling to the hotel, seeing the art, the grounds and the eating at the restaurant.

Review 43:Very fun, enjoyable atmosphere. Staff was genuinely helpful. Great wine cellar

Review 44:Everything was perfect. Wonderful room, location and food.

Review 45:attention to details

Review 46:We wer amazed - and will come back to be amazed again!

Review 47:Charge for internet which is annoying Front desk did not have access to gym Spa open 10:30 so no morning access

Review 48:Staff excellent

Review 49:If you have gym facilities they should be more accessible rather than from 10:30 each morning and not on Mondays.

Review 50:The art, gardens and friendliness/professionalism of the staff.

Review 51:The pool was not available until summer which was a bit frustrating in lovely weather...

Review 52:Extremely helpful staff who went out of there way to help. Incredible art pieces thought the main building and stunning relaxed classical gardens

Review 53:As it was the very beginning of the season I was the only person in the hotel for most of the week. It was quiet. Could have done with quiet background music in dinning room and bar

Review 54:Service was excellent. Very unusual hotel. I am sure people love it or hate it.

Review 55:Sometimes difficult to get help at the front desk. Hotel like this needs a good concierge service

Review 56:The art and design- fabulous, like being in a gallery

Review 57:Food and restaurant were okay - just not particularly gezellig.

Review 58:Gorgeous design, comfortable well-equipped rooms with green views. A stunning swimming pool.

Review 59:A bit out of town. But a beautiful villa. Is it worth 349 euro per nightfor location probably not for more than a night.

Review 60:Luckily received 40% discount. Had a great stay for 24 hours. VisitedVerona for dinner as hotel quiet and expensive.

Review 61:Unfortunately this hotel is located in a not particularly charming area surrounded by industrial sites and no other restaurants or sign of tourist life. The hotel itself is bazaar?! Sexualised art all over the walls mixed in with images of creepy clowns. The junior suite was on par with what a standard room/deluxe room was in other major cities in Italy yet at the rate of a junior suite. The hotel tries too hard to be 5 star and lacks the niceties that a true 5 star hotel has (luxurious bedding, proper hotel menus/paraphernalia, cracked roofs, brightly lit corridors that resemble a hospital, cheap furnishings etc). I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone to stay in. It is 30mins from the town (40 euro cab or can take the transfer but they don't transfer after 7.30pm so you are trapped for dinner) and a very creepy and strange place in a foul part of Verona that no tourist should see.

Review 62:The staff at this hotel are exceptionally helpful. The restaurant (although we were the only diners) was incredible- really special and creative cuisine without being too complex.

Review 63:Service

Review 64:No comfortable seats outside

Review 65:Art Garden Decoration

Review 66:One internet connection per room in these days is a little tight!

Review 67:Place itself, concept, art, food, staff

Review 68:We are for the second time here and will definately come back next time. Very special for design, staff and food.

Review 69:That's the best hotel, I've ever being !

Review 70:Nothing

Review 71:Art Atmosphere Pool Restaurant

Review 72:V efficient V glamourous V friendly V stunning art

Review 73:Horrible bad staff

Review 74:Nothing was good except the design
