Reviews for Hotel The West Hills Mito
Review 1:Like so many hotels in Japan, they do a very poor job of welcoming foreigners. They have trained their staff incorrectly. Non-Japanese do not have to show a passport at check in. Only non-resident non-Japanese. When a Japanese speaking foreigner with a local phone number and a reservation arrives, they should not be greeted with pantomime of a booklet and "Passport?" The correct question is "Are you a Japanese resident?" Yes. "Welcome, sign here." No passports. No IDs. That is the law. Anything else is just rude. But it was not the clerk's fault. She was pleasant. It's management.
Review 2:Wish they speak some english. 1st night, The room was like sauna no one was available to help. Guess are not allowed to come up. Room is way to small.
Review 3:Polite front desk. Room is clean. Very small room but I guess it's typical room in Japan .
Review 4:It is right in the middle of Mito and a bit hard to find. (My car GPS did not recognise the phone numbrer.) Parking was OK. I used it as a good hotel not too far from Narita and the travel in and back to the motorway was 45 mins to an hour.
Review 5:The restaurant was outstanding. Front-desk staff very helpful.
Review 6:You have to take a taxi or local bus to get to/from the Station to/from the Hotel to cover the 2-km distance..
Review 7:Clean, brand-new hotel with the friendliest staff, well-equipped premises, excellent Japanese/Western smorgasbord breakfast for 1,200 yen. Women guests are showered with sample cosmetics upon check-in..
