Reviews for Hotel Ravesi
Review 1:Hotel Ravesi was wonderful -- Beautiful grounds, excellent and helpful staff, delicious apertivo in the evenings and great breakfast. It's located within walking distance of several good restaurants, a spa and the boat dock in Malfa.
Review 2:Guests need to be warned in advance that being an island and only accessible by boat , access is subject to the weather. Several days could be involved if the ferries do not run.
Review 3:The day time Manageress , Nadia , was exceptional !
Review 4:Now that the days are getting shorter, some more lights on the paths would make it easier to get to your room Limited choice of breakfast
Review 5:Most friendly staff - extremely accommodating The view Many things are closeby
Review 6:Beautiful facilities with helpful staff. The rooms were like custom villas, with a lot of character. Perfect location in Malfa, Salina for exploring the ret of the island. Dreamy infinity pool and good breakfast and free cocktail hour appetizers.
Review 7:Calm, relaxing and beautiful , the Hotel Ravesi is an excellent spot for a short stay on the island of Salina. The accomodation is simple but chic in typical Italian rustic style. We had a sea view room with terrace on an upper floor whcih was comfortable and quiet with a great view. The infinity pool is gorgeous and overlooks the sea. Breakfast is served near the pool and is again simple but well presented with good choices. Siping my cappucino overlooking the pool and staright out to sea with excellent views of smoking Stromboli was a lovely morning treat.
Review 8:everything was boutique , the staff are amazing ! its a place where you just want to chill out , dont even feel like leaving to go see the islands ,I felt all the guests were so relaxed , eveyone talks to everyone , the coctails were made properly with love and the appertivo is the BEST!!
Review 9:Absolutely nothing.
Review 10:Completely wonderful in every way. Loved the beautiful gardens, the peaceful setting, the fabulous view from our private terrace and pool area, helpful and kind staff, attentive owner, super room, great aperativos and great bar, excellent breakfast...
Review 11:There is nothing i didnt like about the hotel. But there were things i didnt like about the island: restaurants are few and not so great, except " il capere" in pollara. Bars and other leisure spots on the island are way below the standard of the hotel, and basically, not much to do of anything if you leave the hotel grounds. Except maybe if you are into mountain tracking. Also, shops on the island are rare and taking advantage of this fact, being way to expensive for their offer
Review 12:The location is perfect. No doubt about it. The gardens, the natural parfumes of the place, the pool, the trees, all wonderful. The staff is very helpful and nice, helped us through a very uncomfortable situation. Rooms are unique, each decorated in its own style, so there are no "bad" rooms. Breakfast and evening apetizers were fantastic, natural and most ingredients were from their own back yard. Overall a perfect place for those who really want to get away from it all. Salina is not the place for you if you want nightlife, its all about the quiet and relaxation.
Review 13:This place oozes charm and provides so much more than bed and breakfast. I am in the hospitality business and recognise the quality because this family has it in abundance. Big pluses were the exceptionally comfortable bed and the infinity pool which offers incredible views of Panarea and Stromboli and also the fact that the hotel put on live music gigs over the august 15 holidays. We payed a little over the odds because of high season but honestly well worth it. Bravo Lorenzo e Giuseppe e Dona Carla x
Review 14:Some of the rooms were a bit hummid because of location in ground floor.
Review 15:Excellent view and infinity pool. Fantastic aperitivo. Very friendly staff. Nice surroundings and hurb garden. Walking distance to beach and restaurants.
Review 16:Honestly we enjoyed everything: the infinity pool; waking up to the scent citronella and oregano; the amazing view over Malfa and the ocean from our balcony; the superbly friendly staff; our room (a converted wine cellar); the hotels evening aperitivo
Review 17:Rooms are basic with cheap furniture and tiny tv. They could spend some $ and take it up a notch
Review 18:Aperitivis were great although drinks a little expensive. Good pool and great view. Right in Malfa town. Very nice gardens
Review 19:Nothing.
Review 20:In need of peace and a break from city life I decided to treat myself to a more 'luxurious' room (one with a terrace). Just magic: a delightful place to sit and read, gazing over the sea. None of the laudatory reviews are exaggerated, because this place is a treat. I can quite understand people not wanting to leave the lovely pool area (where breakfast is served) and laze away the whole day, but don't neglect the gardens - a delight for resting in either sun or shade. Malfa is very small, but there is a bus stop almost outside the hotel to travel around the island. This is worth doing, and consider taking a taxi to the hotel on arrival at the port but a bus back when leaving. All the staff are so kind and efficient. They can't be praised highly enough. Nadia at Reception, though, deserves a special mention. She alerted me to an Italian holiday weekend happening just as I was going to the mainland, and then reserved a hydrofoil ticket for me to pick up. Such thoughtfulness.
Review 21:The room looks a bit old fashion. Wifi is not well working in the room, only near the restaurant and pool.
Review 22:Beautiful swimming pool with magnificent view in a flowered garden. Breakfast with delicious American coffee. In the heart of Malfa with some good restaurants and apero-bar Malvasia. A very nice and helpful staff.
Review 23:The noise from the adjacent bathroom was very loud.
Review 24:We loved the location and the swimming pool. The evening eperitivo was first class. The staff were very friendly . The breakfasts were sensational.
Review 25:Very tiny shower, no Wifi in room (We are complaining on an elevated level here; nothing that would refrain us from returning!)
Review 26:The hospitality, the view, the island, ...
Review 27:It can be expensive get in and out from the island to other destination in Italy
Review 28:The Food in Salina is excellent, people are friendly and nature is fantastic
Review 29:No bad experiences at all.
Review 30:The staff are wonderful and attentive. The setting of the hotel is majestic. The food and drink on offer are fantastic. This is a perfect oasis to get away from it all. We will be back here. Loved it.
Review 31:I liked everything about this hotel. It is the best place to stay in Salina and everyone I metat the hotel said the exact same thing! Everybody was happy and very satisfied!
Review 32:Not so much a dislike but a kettle in room would be handy Wifi working in room would be helpful.
Review 33:The caring attentive staff The infinity pool The quietness The comfortable and well appointed rooms A fridge in room was welcome. Location great - near restaurants, cafés, bus stop shops. Staff great at suggestions for exploring other areas, and could provide accurate bus time table Great aperitifs each evening with local wines Comfortable semi private sitting area outside each room.
Review 34:Just loved our 4 day stay here ... and didnt want to leave .... The staff Francesca and Nadia were very helpful and it was like staying with family .... Super views of the sea and Stromboli....and many restaurants to walk to for meals ....highly recommend this gem of a hotel ....
Review 35:Just a wish: if only the rooms were slightly bigger
Review 36:Hotel Ravesi has a nice location, a great breakfast every morning, a beautiful swimming pool and wonderful staff. A very enjoyable place.
Review 37:Our room (a garden room) was small and fairly dark - but we didn't go to Salina to hang out in our room!
Review 38:The Ravesi has gorgeous grounds - a beautiful infinity pool and lovely gardens. The location is great - right in the middle of Malfa, which sounds busy but is certainly not! It's really lovely to sit by the pool in the evening with an apertivo from the well-stocked bar.
Review 39:Nothing
Review 40:Beautiful location with amazing sea views and Stromboli on the horizon. The grounds of the hotel are simply stunning - so many spots to relax quietly with a book or a drink. The service is exceptional - all the staff were amazing especially Nadia. The hotel is in Malfa amongst vineyards and farms. Getting to/from other parts of Salina requires a car/scooter/taxi or use of the local bus, which you can catch from the piazza by the church very close to the hotel. We loved every minute of our stay here!
Review 41:Nothing, tutto perfecto!
Review 42:Everything: the stunning island paradise in the Med, and the charming hotel was a perfect find for a few days of blissful relaxation. Friendly and convenient, with breathtaking views, this place proved to be an absolute joy to enjoy a few days in, can't wait to return.
Review 43:A bit expensive, although you effectively get dinner for free. The drinks were quite pricey too, 8 Euros lured a non-alcoholic cocktail. I preferred our stay at Leni, the other side of the island as the sunsets were amazing and it was more peaceful there yet still just a short trip to wherever you wanted to go.
Review 44:Good location, nice pool, friendly staff, comfortable rooms, fantastic (complimentary) food in the evening. Salina has an excellent bus service so you can easily get to and from the hydrofoils and around the island.
Review 45:The village itself is small and there is not many restaurants around. The pizza place next door is ok, but I would suggest renting a car to explore other places.
Review 46:The garden was beautiful. The herbs and flowers smelled wonderful. Staff was friendly, thoughtful and very nice. Malfa is on the sunny side of the island. Breakfast was great, aperitivo was the best. Swimming pool was awesome.
Review 47:There is nothing about this hotel which we did not like
Review 48:The hotel is beautifully located in a very pleasant part of Salina with a breath taking view on the Mediterranean sea. Rooms are very nice and comfortable and so is the pool. But the thing we liked the most is probably the great sense of hospitality of the owner and the entire staff at the reception or at the pool and bar. You have to enjoy the fantastic "aperitivo" served at the pool at the sun set with great local food prepared by the owner. All together it was an amazing experience, we will go back!
Review 49:If anything- the breakfast. Nothing wrong with it, just typical Italian with too many sweets and too little fruits and vegetables...
Review 50:Hotel Ravesi is a little paradise in Malfa. The garden and the pool are fantastic. The staff were also really helpful, assisting us with everything we needed.
Review 51:The loud and boorish American guest who hogged a breakfast table for an hour and made business phone calls from the poolside.
Review 52:We had asked for a quiet room (de luxe) and were shown to rather small room with a tiny balcony. Did not like it, so she showed us another near the pool and bar, which was excellent, despite some little noise from the pool and bar. So some rooms are more de luxe than others! In the village centre, with bars and cafes and shops and a couple of restaurants. Lovely gardens, lovely pool, lovely views of Stromboli, lovely people. Excellent recommended restaurant in the centre of Santa Marina.
Review 53:Be prepared to pay a bit more for food and wine than on Sicily, but they do have to bring most of the products in by Ferry.
Review 54:The staff, the view, and the island in general were beyond our expectations. Fantastic break.
Review 55:Salina is an amazingly beautiful Island and Hotel Ravesi is an oasis in Malfa village! Everything; location, accommodation, hospitality, food….most beautiful garden and view. Defenetelly one of the best hotels we have visited!!!
Review 56:Le personnel est prévenant et prêt à vous satisfaire tout en gentillesse. Le cadre est splendide. The place is so nice that we changed our travel plans and decided to come back there and spend two more days there
Review 57:Location
Review 58:Warm friendly English speaking staff who found no request too big
Review 59:We loved staying there. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Great location, beautiful grounds, and an outstanding pool.
Review 60:nothing
Review 61:Everything.
Review 62:The room view and the pool area is amazing. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere of the hotel is very relaxing.
Review 63:Beautiful island, perfect hotel and lovely staff. What not to like?
Review 64:Wifi not available inside the room, pool unheated
Review 65:Location, View, Staff
Review 66:The view, the staff, the location, the service, the quiet, aperitivo time.
Review 67:Extremely helpful and friendly staff, beautiful surroundings
Review 68:Having to leave
Review 69:The pool The ambience The staff The views The rooms - all fantastic
Review 70:No wifi available in rooms for iPad , iPhone - only pool and reception areas
Review 71:Fabulous setting and views
Review 72:It's perfect
Review 73:Children screaming since 8am, breakfast could be better, slightly expensive in general
Review 74:Great views from the pool, charming ambient.
Review 75:- Breakfast is ok but not spectacular
Review 76:- Extremely helpful and caring staff - Pool and view - Location
Review 77:Everything. The pool area is so peaceful and a great view over the islands.
Review 78:Nothing...
Review 79:Outstanding location and view/lovely gardens/super friendly and helpful service
Review 80:Nothing, it was bliss! Do not go here if you like branded generic hotels.. This is a family run small hotel
Review 81:Pool and view Immaculate gardens Aperol spritz with aperitivo in evenings Walk to Punto Scario and hire mattresses to lie on/ take in sea Amazing dinner at HotelSignum Pollara swimming from rocks where Il Postino was filmed
Review 82:Absolutely nothing at all.
Review 83:Superb location with fabulous gardens and infinity pool and a sea view panorama of Stromboli and Panarea that was truly captivating. The staff were as friendly and helpful as I've ever experienced. And to top matters off the evening aperitives were delicious. A great experience all round.
Review 84:If anything: people leaving their towels on their deckchair at the swimmingpool when they're out for lunch and come back 2h later. Since the rules of the hotel state that isn't allowed, it could be avoided. That way during those 2 lost Hours, someone else might enjoy a good spot.
Review 85:Great staff, beautiful swimmingpool (and great view) and lounge-area (the aperitivo after 18.00 is excellent). The rooms can be a bit dark, but since I was outside most of the time that's hardly worth mentioning. Right in the center of Malfa (to explore the island you can use the bus or rent a car on the square of Malfa). Breakfast is good. The garden of the hotel is just stunning.
Review 86:Leaving
Review 87:Beautiful scented gardens, island views from the infinity pool, delicious cakes at breakfast and evening aperitives served from a converted winery. The staff were among the most relaxed, friendly and professional I've encountered
Review 88:very friendly and helpful staff at the reception - excellent recommendations plus easy and prompt support/booking (restaurants, boat hire, Stromboli hiking tour, taxi transfer ...)
Review 89:The only disappointment was the breakfast: not up to the standards of the hotel (or other equivalent hotels). Since it is not located at the main port you definitely need a scooter/car to get around so you can go and do other activities or change dinner location, and explore the island.
Review 90:A great hotel if you want to be in a quiet location. We were very lucky with the room (we had a little house away from the main building) with a great view of the sea. The pool is priceless, wonderful view. Staff was friendly. Go for the aperitivo! Great drinks and wonderful local snacks from 6 to 9pm.
Review 91:It was all beautiful from arrival through to departure. The gardens were suprisingly lovely (and productive), and the homemade snacks to be eaten with aperitifs in the evening were delicious.
Review 92:Lovely relaxing hotel, the pool was lovely, as was fabio in the bar. Chilled music played in the afternoon, lovely snacks put out for you. Very peaceful and serene.
Review 93:Nothing, except to note that the bar is not open at this time of year. A shame!
Review 94:Absolutely stunning view of the sea and Stromboli from our room. Gardens absolutely beautiful. Breakfast absolutely delicious. Very peaceful, relaxing. Nadia was so helpful and welcoming. Sorted out exactly how we needed to get to Taormina.
Review 95:Thre restaurants in Malfa are limited in quantity.
Review 96:The hotel is very impressive. We had mostly relaxing time overlooking the view of the ocean from the pool side with aperitivo before night. The hotel staff helped us greatly whenever we needed assistance. Staying in Malfa is a good idea for people who want to enjoy the pure nature and atmosphare of calm village.
Review 97:Quite close to Malfa Piazza - sometimes there was noise from the square
Review 98:Friendly helpful staff - Nadia and Miriam especially. Room had a lovely view - # 14. Very relaxed atmosphere.
Review 99:Bed was a bit uncomfortable.
Review 100:None of the above words really captures what is a boutique hotel in a fairly remote location. Lovely pool, excellent bar in the evening. (No restaurant so cannot describe it as gourmet.)
Review 101:This hotel is absolutely fantastic. The staff were very nice, helping us with everything from hiring a scooter, to recommendations for dinner. The pool area was amazing, overlooking 2 of the other islands and the bedroom itself was great with a nice terrace.
Review 102:The hotel has all the ingredients for a relaxing and romantic staying. The view from the pool is priceless. The fresh breakfast and evening aperitivo by the pool make the stay even more enjoyable. the hotel manages to be laid back chic whilst manteining high standards of service. Above all the owner and staff are truly lovely people and do know how to make your staying a great exsperience.
Review 103:It is a bit expensive, but seems it is the media of the hotels in Eolian Islands.
Review 104:The place is absolutely quiet and charming. It's also very familiar, breakfast is served with handmade bakery, the swiming-pool is marvellous and the village (Malfa) is very nice.
Review 105:The pool and gardens are fantastic, the staff are amazing, the view atall times of the day is stunning, the aperitivi in the evening arewonderful and Fabio the main man at the bar serves a fantastic gin andtonic!! Senora Carla keeps a inconspicuous presence around theproceedings and has an amazing staff and hotel. If you want relaxationand total chill out this is the place to be, Malfa is queit and has somegood restaurants but the Ravesi is worth the travel from Milazzo!!!!
Review 106:Rooms were fine but the aircon is not very strong and there can be noisein the morning from other guests or cleaning staff.
Review 107:Great hotel to stay in Malfa - good location, fantastic pool with viewon the islands, great aperitivo and great breakfast in the morning. The staff was really lovely and helpful, arranging taxis and vespasfor us and recommending places to visit and restaurants to try. Anenchanting stay.
Review 108:Noise from neighboring guests can be a problem because rooms can share same terrace, and mostly near one another.
Review 109:The hotel is beautiful with a lovely swimming pool, although small, it has a beautiful view of Stromboli and Panarea. Staff (Ms Nadia and Luca) and the owner (Ms Carla) are very friendly and attentive. Hotel location is a plus. All in all, very good value hotel. Small, friendly, beautiful, clean and attentive.
Review 110:nothing; absolutely nothing.
Review 111:The staff are extremely friendly and helpfull. The infinity pool is very nicely situated in a lovely garden. The room was clean and tidy. We had a great stay (the nice weather helped)!
Review 112:Wonderful staff, delicious homemade antipasti, awesome pool!
Review 113:The view. The friendly staff - a very well run hotel. The evening hors d'oeuvres. Everything!
Review 114:Love the island, hotel, bedroom view, staff!
Review 115:Small room.
Review 116:Amazing staff willing to help you with every problem. Hilarious Aperitif, wonderful atmosphere, Relaxing pool area
Review 117:No complaints
Review 118:Everything about this hotel is excellent
Review 119:Nothing!
Review 120:The pool area was lovely! Enjoyed the lounge Felt very comfortable and welcomed Quiet and relaxing
Review 121:The Hotel Ravesi was the whole wonderful relaxation package rolled into one.
