Chalet du Lys descritpion

Chalet du Lys is 1.2 miles from Gressoney La Trinité, and just 500 feet from the Saint Anna cable-car at the bottom of Monte Rosa. It offers free Wi-Fi and a spa.
The Chalet is in the village of Tschaval at the end of the regional road 44. A sport shop, a small grocery shop and a cash-machine are just across the road.
Rooms have panoramic mountain views of the Saint Anna Slopes, and some feature a fully equipped kitchenette. The style is rustic, with wooden furniture and exposed beams on the ceilings.
The spa is complete with hot tub, sauna, and Turkish bath. There is also a library with games and toys for children, and a free ski deposit.
The restaurant specialises in local dishes, and the Irish pub on site serves the best draught beers until late. Breakfast is a sweet and savoury buffet.

Reviews for Chalet du Lys

Review 1:We were really happy with everything apart of the Spa. The facilities itself are great, but It is a shame that you allow kids/teenagers to access the Spa as they really don't respect the spa tranquility atmosphere.

Review 2:1. Mondays are dead - almost everything is closed in town 2. The weather ;-)

Review 3:1. location 2. very local climate, interiors, a nice fusion of tradition and Italian design ;-) 3. all amenities in place 4. professional and empathetic personnel

Review 4:Very friendly staff clean spacious rooms good food very pleasant spa!

Review 5:Some minor improvements could be achieved easily.

Review 6:Room and hotel was really nice.

Review 7:Very nice hotel. Very nice rooms, clean, nice SPA, good food and very close to the slopes. Looking forward to staying there again

Review 8:Great staff who made sure our stay was a pleasure. The hotel is incredible value in the off season!

Review 9:- very poor breakfast - air-conditioning system in the rooms lived their lives in the morning in the room was getting cold - level 4 star hotel does not match - only on TV channels in Italian, not even in English

Review 10:- Loved the location - nice staff - very clean

Review 11:My only significant bugbear was the internet access which was exceedingly poor. On a few days, it was almost as fast as the old 'dial-up' connections used to be but I spent a great deal of time just trying to get any signal at all - even when I sat downstairs in the reception area where the signal was supposedly the strongest. I spoke to the manager about this but was told that because we were in the mountains, it had to be recognized that the signal wouldn't be good and the internet slow. I didn't make a song and dance about it but Chalet du Lys MUST update its internet technology. I have stayed in the mountains many times and this is the worst place for internet speed/access I've encountered in the past 8 years. I noticed several of the other guests were equally as frustrated (one had wanted to monitor his online business from the hotel but little chance of that). The other disappointment was the temperature in the jacuzzi which can only be described as 'chilly'. Not good when you've spent all day in cold weather on the mountain. The other spa facilities including sauna and steam room are great otherwise. Finally, if I'm being picky then the lighting could be a bit better in the rooms and cable/English channels could do with being available on the TV.

Review 12:Rooms were spacious, comfortable and shower was amazing. Staff very welcoming and helpful (the manager even found me a kettle and cup for my room which doesn't come as standard in Italy). The spa facilities were lovely though I personally would have had the jacuzzi significantly warmer. The location of the Chalet to the Staffal lifts toward Champoluc and Alagna is fantastic - literally a stone's throw and I was able to ski from the chalet down a little hill and across a short flat piece of ground to the lifts on most of the days.

Review 13:The room felt a bit drab for the price.

Review 14:The breakfast buffet was the best ever! Totally worth the stay to see a hotel take such care to prepare a wonderful meal with many fresh, local and unique ingredients. Staff was fantastic!

Review 15:Booking manager and staff were very friendly and responsive to requests. The location at the end of a beautiful valley in the high Alps was breathtaking. The hotel was well kept, nicely decorated, and the rooms were just perfect (cosy sleeping quarters and large modern bathroom). The mountain views from the hotel are unforgetable. By the way, this hotel was the former vacation residence of the Queen of Italy in the late 1800's! Many thanks to the staff for an awsome summer holiday.

Review 16:Beds too hard Ski room v.big but poorly equipped

Review 17:Location Price Value for money Breakfast - choice & quality Friendly staff Cleanliness Quality Parking

Review 18:1) Confusing directions (there are two Gressonays and several ways of spelling "Staffel", the village in which it's actually located; hard to find in the dark.2) Spa is only open until 8 p.m. and facilities (jacuzzi, salt room, etc.) are chilly. Disappointing after a long day of skiing. 3) Views from rooms (2nd level) not as good as suggested.

Review 19:1) Proximity to Monte Rosa ski lefts which let you ski back and forth across three Walser vallies: stunning!2) Very good food in restaurant; local specialties 3) Friendly, helpful staff with nice suggestions of things to do and places to go.

Review 20:Non-functional broadband internet connections.

Review 21:New hotel facilities - Clean and warm.

Review 22:Inconsistent internet.

Review 23:Great location, friendly service, great food.

Review 24:all was perfect

Review 25:I like the staff, the location and the spa.

Review 26:Ideal for ski access and apres ski spa relaxation.
