Reviews for Discovery Holiday Parks - Jindabyne
Review 1:No direct drinking water. Had to boil water or buy bottled water. I believe that is a Jindabyne issue not just specific to this place.
Review 2:Good family size cabin. Comfortable with a good kitchen. Quieter location out of Jindabyne near Thredbo turnoff
Review 3:Not really within walking distance of the town, but not a big issue really
Review 4:Good facilities, next to the lake and the petrol station, awesome food at the Thai restaurant just outside the park. Easy access to the main roads to Perisher or Thredbo
Review 5:The cabin was very small, cramped and old. Needed a good clean and repair. The TV was on top of the fridge not an ideal spot.
Review 6:The location was beautiful.
Review 7:Low water pressure in shower cabin had many cobwebs and was a little bit dirty. Cabin needed maintenance. Air conditioner is purposely limited and temperature can not be increased.
Review 8:Good Location Friendly Staff easy late check in
Review 9:it was close to the snow and on the lake to take a walk or bike ride. our cabin was well equipted . i really like the lake, it is stunning my daughter and i hired bikes from the shop out the front after a days ski ing and loved it.
Review 10:Paid for a deluxe cabin (5 guest) occupancy had to pay extra for the 2 people because i didnt book for 400. Bunk bed wasnt made with linen had to do it myself
Review 11:It was clean.
Review 12:1. Dirty. Stained bedclothes throughout on beds that you had to make when you arrived. Ants everywhere throughout the cabin. 2. Lack of facilities. Kitchen horrible, tiny and with and oven that didn't work. Sleeps 6, but 4 kids in stacked bunks in a room that measured 2m x 2m 3. Inconsiderate and unhelpful staff. 1 toilet roll provided for 6 people for a week. Directed to a supermarket 2km away when asked for more.
Review 13:The snow... Essentially all the time we were not staying at this property.
Review 14:Ants in our cupboards, had to spray all the cupboards and clean all the dishes. No sponge, requested a sponge from housekeeping but it didn't come so we bought one the next day. Light blood stain above bed head in double bed. Wasn't happy about that either.
Review 15:Heating worked well and location was good. Activities on site are good for young kids.
Review 16:Although the location of the site is only 2-3 minutes drive from Jindabyne shopping centre, the restaurants, cafes and petrol stations in front of it close way too early. You will have to get in your car and drive back to Jindabyne shopping centre if you want to buy any food or drinks after 4-5pm.
Review 17:Cabins were nice and cosy, great amenities around the park, everything was neat and tidy. Most of all, pricing was fantastic especially during the snow season.
Review 18:Cabin was roomy, however, lounge chairs were dirty and stained as was the carpet they were on. Very unattractive to put your feet on the carpet, and not relaxing to sit on a stained, old couch. At $330 a night, admittedly in peak season, this was very disappointing.
Review 19:Toilets were far away. Three windows in the cabin could not be locked. The lock mechanisms were missing. I could smell pesticide while I was sleeping. The heater in the cabin was noisy.
Review 20:The location. Entertainment facilities.
Review 21:We were in the back row of cabins, alongside the road, and had to drive past what looked like a car wreckers yard alongside some vans in the park to get to ours. There is a garage and workshop backing onto this part of the park. Not a nice location of the lake and a quite a bit out of town.
Review 22:Very clean cabin.
Review 23:We arrived at 1130 pm to a filthy cabin un made bed the only clean thing was a set of clean sheets and towels left on the dirty table !!!! Was I supposed to make my own bed at midnight???? No apology from manager!!!! Stay at the other caravan park.
Review 24:Nothing
Review 25:We use the bbq and usually clean up when finished. This time there was no paper and it was difficult to get scraps off the hotplate as the scrapper was chained on - not a problem but we don't like to leave a mess behind!
Review 26:The location and the many walks around Charlotte Pass.
Review 27:Only problem the double bed was a bit small as my partner is a little over 6foot tall
Review 28:How it was so close to the lake and it was worth the money i payed will be coming back in the near future
Review 29:no pool. Cabin could use a spruce up. Fly screens missing or damaged. bunk bed mattresses were very thin and hard
Review 30:good location nice n quiet neat tidy surroundings
Review 31:Cleanliness of bathroom was superficial. Perhaps the cleaner could sit on the toilet and view surrounds from there. (This is what your visitor sees)
Review 32:Setting was beautiful. The facilities offered at the park are great. Thanks for a nice stay.
Review 33:We didn't get much sleep. The beds weren't great and there was a ape tree and possums having a war above our cabin. Apart from that all was pretty good.
Review 34:The location and facilities for kids
Review 35:The cabin was a little bit cramped but we could live with that for two nights. The cabin itself could do with some TLC: water damage to vanity doors, shower curtain needed to be cleaned or replaced, one of the pillows was well past its use by date, and the freezer compartment had iced up due to the door not being shut properly - seal needed replacing.
Review 36:Plenty of facilities and activities for the children. We were able to walk into Jindabyne for dinner. It was quiet at night and we slept well. There was sufficient crockery and cutlery for our family of four. Dish washing liquid was provided along with tea towels. Staff were friendly and welcoming.
Review 37:room heater not great minimal grocery shop which doesn't remain open till late far from restaurants
Review 38:Good location, close to the drive to Ski slopes. Good kitchen facilities lovely lake in close proximity
Review 39:Hygiene is not a priority when cleaning the cabins and linen provided but you have to make the beds. Cabin sleeps 6 but very tight quarters when 5 in the cabin for three nights.
Review 40:The staff are very friendly and the park has every amenity you might need while away at a cost. The location was central and a very quiet and peaceful place.
Review 41:The oven and hotplates in the hut need servicing. The double bed was not very comfortable. Would have liked somewhere to store our bags after checkout.
Review 42:The lake views, the individule cottages the location
Review 43:park area needs updating looking old and shabby
Review 44:location was good for getting to Thredbo or Perisher; accommodation was well heated and the kitchen was supplied well with all equipment
