Reviews for Villa Casalecchi
Review 1:There were no tea and coffee facilities in the room and was overpriced for the season we visited when the restaurant had limited options
Review 2:Fantastic location and high helpful staff, with ample options for breakfast.
Review 3:The website promoted a restaurant serving traditional Tuscan food but on arrival was told it was closed. If we'd known this we would've stayed elsewhere. It also advertised a pool but the pool was dirty and full of leaves.
Review 4:The owner are too good to be true. They went out of their way to help us with everything. They took care of my husband and me like we were their children. The food of the attached restaurant is fantastic. Dining there everyday is a must! We also played tennis in their exclusive court, which was refreshing.
Review 5:Nothing. Highly recomended.
Review 6:We stayed 5 night at the villa. The staff, charming Franco and Anna, were kind and helpfull and did many afforts to pleasent our time. The place is beautifull and in perfect location for traveling the area.
Review 7:We liked everything about this hotel and the host Franko was amazing, we drove up in a dusty, tiny little rental car in shorts and tea shirts and were treated like special guests from the moment we arrived to the moment we left.
Review 8:Bathroom needs refreshment.
Review 9:Very nice location in Castellina (at the heart of the Chianti) and splendid view from the terrace and swimming pool. Great breakfast buffet.
Review 10:The place is magical, we absolutely loved our stay. The villa is beautiful and charming and the views are breathtaking. It is a hidden treasure and I can not wait to go back. The staff was lovely and made us feel special and right at home.
Review 11:Given that the hotel is so close to all the vineyards, it would have been nice to have some wine glasses and bottle opener in the room.
Review 12:A terrific place. The location is breathtaking, rooms are clean and spacious, staff incredibly helpful and friendly. Wholeheartedly recommend to go there for a true Tuscan experience.
Review 13:The restaurant of the hotel has got good quality food and wine, but when it gets dark there is no romance due to the bright lights above the table.
Review 14:Very friendly staff, nice pool, Beautiful room, Good location for trips to winetastings and to visit places between Florance and Siena, many restaurants in the little town
Review 15:The mosquito problem in the area is terrible and it's all over the area not just at the villa. We traveled with a small baby, the owners were super helpful and gave us anything we asked for like a crib and a bath for the baby but it's very hard to commute with the stroller there as The place is full of stairs.
Review 16:The owners were very helpful, friendly, met our needs with everything! Great family! The staff is great and very nice. The restaurant is really good actually one of the best of all places we ate in Tuscany. The view is incredible! Beautiful place every room is decorated with a great taste.
Review 17:To say something, maybe the dishes selection for the dinner menu was too sophisticated for our teenagers daughters, although we parents enjoyed them very much :-)
Review 18:Hotel location. The landscape from the swimming pool. The 2-bedroom suite. The helpfulness and kindness of the owners. Castellina in Chianti.
Review 19:Wifi was patchy, no bikes available although it said there was on the website. More activities could be offered around the hotel giving it more life.
Review 20:Beautiful old building in the forest of Chianti. Traditional furniture and friendly staff. we stayed in the suite which has a large traditional lounge area and two ensure bedrooms.
Review 21:Needs a slight update of AC system and beds
Review 22:The Staff is really nice and helpful. They even booked an excellent wine tasting sessions for us. I would recommend this place and would stay again anytime
Review 23:Wifi was difficult-we ended up using it in the foyer.
Review 24:Franco and his staff were very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Rooms were beautifully furnished, and comfortable radiating an Old World feel. The entire property-grounds, pool, views, and meals were also delightful. We will return!
Review 25:Casalecchi is a wonderful villa located to a peaceful area close to Castellina in Chianti. It provides all the needed features of a beautiful Tuscan villa. The friendly hosts welcome you to a special place where you feel going back 100 years in time. If you are a fan of antique furniture, the villa is perfect for you. However, the rooms are renovated to meet the nowadays requirements. Hosts are keeping the property in very good condition. The restaurant of the villa provides delicious dinners. In addition, one of the best wine yards Fonterutoli is close to the villa.
Review 26:You have to have car to drive to there.
Review 27:The hotel provides excellenat services to us. Even the resturant closed on the day when we arrived, they still served us a wondelful light dinner with excellent wine. The environment and location is wonderful and beautiful.
Review 28:Nothing
Review 29:We really loved the Villa Casalecchi, It's a little hard to find so make sure you note down the map details prior to travelling, we didn't so it took us a little longer to find. It's a beautiful building, very comfortable with lots of seating should you wish to get out of your room. It has wonderful views, adjacent to a vineyard and the grounds are very well maintained with fantastic plants & flowers. The pool area is on a slightly lower level that the hotel and the wall is covered with fragrant Honeysuckle. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, cool even when it's very hot. We loved our stay there, it's peaceful and calm, a perfect base to explore the rest of Tuscany.
Review 30:Villa Cassalecchi is the perfect place to explore the chianti region of Tuscany or just relax in a picturesque setting. The hotel is a "boutique" by US standards - about 20 rooms. I stayed in 4 star hotels in London and Florence and this hotel beat them all! I cannot say enough good things about the hotel and the staff.
Review 31:Welcoming and extremely helpful and friendly members of staff. Superb surroundings and room .We had a delicious evening meal in the restaurant well worth repeating. The food was the best we have ever had!
Review 32:The shower needed updating. The dinner menu didn't have a vegetarian option - a salad was offered which was very poor and had flies in. The hotel has a total lack of life about it - it was like being in a library, no music, some of the staff had little Customer skills. The pool was full of flies and the pool area was sadly lacking of any maintenance.
Review 33:The buildings Breakfast The cat was great!
Review 34:The villa is beautiful and very well maintained. We were well taken care of throughout our entire stay. Silvia got in technicians fo fix the wifi once she heard that we could not connect in our room. She even left the office door unlocked during the night so that we can submit an important report. Franco showed us beautiful sights of San Gimignano by allowing us access to a private tower. Breakfast was scrumptious (especially the croissant) even though there was only one other couple for 2 out of our 3 days at Villa Casalecchi. Last but not least, the 'talking' cat was so cute and made the stay very enjoyable.
Review 35:Lack of elevator. Would be difficult for handicapped. Premium rms much nicer than regular.
Review 36:Fabulous grounds. Comfortable old mansion. Good breakfast.
Review 37:Didn't have wifi reception in our room.
Review 38:the team is excellent, very warm and helpful. The view is breathtaking
Review 39:Great location and wonderfully welcoming owners! Clean and well equipped and great value.

Review 43:a classic Tuscan villa experience with an exceptionally warm welcome
Review 44:The atmosphere and location are fantastic, you feel as if at home in a beautiful manor house. Very good value for money.
Review 45:Beautiful location and setting, old world ambiance with subtle yet efficient service and a warm welcome.
Review 46:Everything, also nearby castellina in chianti, nice place to visit in the evening for dinner.
Review 47:WiFi was not working
Review 48:gorgeous place in every way
Review 49:The Villa is amazing. The owners are very friendly and love children. We wished we had booked a much longer stay.
Review 50:Too many mosquitos at the outside restaurant. WiFi at the annex works only if you are lucky.
Review 51:Very nice and kind staff
Review 52:big rooms, big bed, very beautiful villa and pool, very welcoming staff
Review 53:Wifi connection was sometimes very bad or not available! The provider was very bad, although the owners tried their very best to solve it!
Review 54:Heaven
Review 55:All very good
Review 56:Hospitality of the management Beautiful building
Review 57:Internet and breakfast were poor...
Review 58:Location and atmosphere were amazing... Extremelly suggested.
Review 59:The villa is beautiful and nicely decorated; its location, the shared rooms inside and outside are a great oasis in the hot tuscan summer!
Review 60:No complaints
Review 61:The pool, the view and the location were fantastic! Great food! Great value!
Review 62:If you want to escape into the Tuscan countryside then this is the place to be!
Review 63:being transported 100 years back in time
Review 64:None
Review 65:Very peaceful location Friendly and very accommodating staff Nothing was too much trouble
Review 66:There was nothing not to love!!
Review 67:The villa was beautiful, staff friendly and attentive, nice breakfastand accomodating to your every need. Umberto is a perfect host and makesyou feel like a family guest, providing a wealth of information. Roomsare spacious and beautifully appointed with villa antiques. We can'twait to return!
Review 68:The Manageress was rude and unhelpful; dinner was of poor quality and greasy; selection at breakfast was inadequate; and the overall accommodation was in need of some modernization.
Review 69:Proximity to Siena
Review 70:This is not 4 star accommodation. The rooms are very dated and the beds and linen are old. The pool is surrounded by weeds and the whole pool area is in bad condition. It's not a nice place to hang out and relax. Overall we found the staff lovely but the hotel very dated and rundown.
Review 71:The mattress on this occasion was a little too hard
Review 72:Stayed at this hotel many times. Love the peace and quiet, rarely felt so relaxed. Pool is a good size. Castellina is lovely with good restaurants and markets. Right in the middle of some beautiful scenery with Siena and Florence an easy drive away. Would definitely recommend the area and the hotel
Review 73:Although the staff were very professional, helpful and polite, 'warmth' wasn't their forté.
Review 74:Our family room was rustic but spacious. There were always plenty of towels / blankets and amenities for our family of four. The included breakfast was perfect with a variety of fresh items to choose from and the dinner we did have there was delicious! The pool was beautifully kept and a refreshing temperature...not too hot or cold. The service was attentive and polite and the front desk staff were very helpful.
Review 75:This was very beautiful villa with relaxing atmosphere not far from Castellina in Chianti lovely city. We had nice and quiet room with a view to the pool. Breakfast was very good and dinner delicious as well. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely come back again!
Review 76:What a beautiful stay... From the moment we arrived we were welcomed like family! The room is luxuriously equipped! The Countryside views are spectacular!! Peacefulness abounds! We highly recommend!!
Review 77:The beds in the sattelite appartments were very uncomfortable, very hard. Lucky they were able to move us to the main building where the rooms and beds were better. We were expecting more of a view, not much to look at. The grounds need a lot of work. Could be a lot better, has potential.
Review 78:Peace full, quiet, staff were very nice and eager to please. Nice quiet place for a mature couple and friends. Your next question depends on who I was recommending it to. Food was good.
Review 79:Could be a bit cleaner. The rooms smelled a bit musty, perhaps due to not being a very busy place. But after opening the doors to the lovely air and views, everything was good!
Review 80:Lovely old house in the country, just outside of Castellini in Chianti. Definitely must have a car to get here, its a bit out of the way if you are trying to get here without transport. But the house is worth the trip! Its over 200years old and very well preserved. Must visit to see the hand built and painted interiors of the house. Lovely quiet location, very romantic. Wife loved the place!
Review 81:It was an amazing experience....Dinner, views, friendliness of staff and the rooms were very private. The staff was very nice and helped accommodate every ounce of the trip. We traveled with another couple and they unfortunately had gotten sick prior to coming, which the hotel made special arrangements for foods and needs to comfort them. I travel for work and leisure all the time and couldn't ask for a better place to unwind and get away.
Review 82:All was good.
Review 83:Quiet location. Beautiful grounds. Friendly hosts. Very good breakfast and fine supper a la carte. Well located between Florence and Sienna.
Review 84:The "stables" building certainly does not match four stars. There is a big issue of cleanliness there - floor cleaning was not done everyday and there was dust from probably several weeks under the beds. At breakfast there was always lack of something, one had to ask the staff, while everything should be supplied continuously.
Review 85:Very friendly landlords - Birgit was so kind to lend us her own laptop for the whole duration of our stay, when it turned out that ours did not get wireless connectivity for some reason.
Review 86:Villa Casalecchi was very quiet and peaceful after our stays in Rome and Florence. We relaxed driving in the Chianti countryside knowing we had a comfortable place to stay. The hotel staff was very friendly and helped with any needs we had with guides, etc.
Review 87:We loved the peaceful space and the old villa. Umberto and Madame were gracious hosts-very helpful and friendly. Food at the restaurant was good. Location was good-just a short drive from village of Castellina and Montevarchi/Regellio for shopping
Review 88:The pool was very cool! - too cold.
Review 89:The originality of the place! In many ways an update of the premises(especially the rooms) was needed, but still it was a positiveexperience to "live" in this old Toscan house in the country side. + Theevening restaurant was marvelous!
Review 90:Poor breakfast. Not concurrent restaurant (after first visit we tookdinners in different restaurants in Casteliani di Chianti).
Review 91:Very nice location, good pool, nice views and good wine. Verycomfortable place for the base, if you trip for different locationsin Toscana).Good big apartments (we lived separate building with apartments).
Review 92:Needed more coathangers. Loan of Iron and Ironing board would have been good.
Review 93:Central Location, extremely friendly and helpful staff, proximity to local town, views.
Review 94:A stylish oasis of peace and tranquility in the hills of Tuscany withinstriking distance of Siena. The staff were friendly and efficient and weenjoyed an excellent dinner in the charming dining room overlooking theterrace area.
Review 95:The friendly attentiveness of Umberto (the proprietor) and his staff was special. It was a very peaceful location with beautiful views & grounds, and is great for visiting the hill towns of Tuscany, wineries, etc. We would return there anytime.
Review 96:wonderfull and excellent place.very quiet.
Review 97:There wasn't much choice at breakfast unless one got up early.
