Reviews for Borgo Di Pietrafitta Relais

Review 1:Without a GPS, we had some difficulty in initially finding the hotel, which proved to be a few kilometers north of the town. Unfortunately the dishwasher did not function properly. Not a big issue though.

Review 2:Fantastic setting & facilities. Spacious apartment accommodation. Excellent breakfast provided. Very beautiful part of Tuscany, could easily have spent a few more days there. Daisy was extremely pleasant & helpful in every respect.

Review 3:Nothing

Review 4:- Arrived around 9pm and now working schedule, but the host left an envelope with key and very detailed way to reach our house- minor problems to our reserved room and we were given free upgrade to a very very nice villa - surroundings are fascinating - nice pool, tennis table - great breakfast - very customer oriented

Review 5:Poor breakfast

Review 6:An amazing place with a magnificent view, such friendly & helpful staff, clean & comfortable room, free parking area. During our reservation we mentioned that we are on honeymoon, and they had already put flowers & wine in our room, as a welcome gift. It was so nice!!! If we ever come back, it is more that sure we will choose Borgo!!!!

Review 7:We booked this place online and this place was nothing like shown in thepicture. The place had too many bugs.Very dirty and they have nocleaning service or change of towels available. Very bad customerservice. They say pool is open till 1 am but they shut off the lights at8 pm. Reception closes after 8 pm and no one is there to assist in caseof emergencies. During a storm all the water seeped in through closeddoor and Windows and no one would come to help clean. The concierge hasno idea about restaurants or anything in the area. Overall the worsthotel stay and for the ridiculous price we paid. Please consider the bedand breakfast instead

Review 8:The staff is ok but we felt a little lack of welcomeness and desire to help us discovering this wonderfull countryside. Rooms are really really hot due to their location.

Review 9:The location , the swimming pool and the town character

Review 10:We did not get access to WiFi in our room when we arrived. Staff told us that a week before a storm damaged the installation and they did not know when it will be fixed but we could use the connection at the réception (5 Mn walk from our place). When we start asking whether it will be repaired in the early days of our stay, the staff answered us that none was arguing anything the week before and that it was not a need for us to get WiFi in our room. We argued that we reserved through booking.com because website granted free wifi everywhere when the hotel didn't. The staff told us to make a complain with booking.com because they where not informed of services granted by the website. On Monday, the hotel staff came to setup the wifi in our apartment. Many thanks to booking.com! Then, you should not be scared by spiders... And not small ones! You should not pay attention to sanitary pumps noises and people walking in the apartment upstairs...

Review 11:Borgo di PietraFitta is located in an amazing place. The swimming pool gets a great view. Unfortunately when you arrive at the critical hour to enjoy the place, not sure you will get a place where to seat dispite instruction of the hotel not to use more than one umbrella and two seats...

Review 12:I did not realize the rooms did not have A/C. We ended up not really needing it but it would be nice if it was pointed out.

Review 13:Good location and beautiful view and grounds. Something different is exactly what I was looking for.

Review 14:There was a misunderstanding about breakfast. We stayed in 7 different hotels / resorts / apartments during our holiday, and I probably researched 50 more. At some, breakfast was included. At others, it wasn't, but I simply didn't recall which was which. At every other place we stayed, we were told clearly at check-in what the breakfast policies were. Not here, unfortunately (and my wife speaks Italian). I even went back to the office to ask about breakfast after we'd moved into our room, and my understanding after talking to the lady at the front desk was that it was included with our apartment (for which we paid 780 Euros for 5 nights, by the way). When it came time to check out, they wanted to charge us 7 Euros per person (2 of us) per 4 breakfasts, for a total charge of 56 additional Euros. Sorry, but the breakfast wasn't worth 7 Euros, and we would have fixed our own in our apartment's kitchen (as we did at the next place we stayed) had they been clear about the price. Rather than quickly offer to cancel the breakfast as a gesture of goodwill, the lady at check-out insisted on charging us. I refused to pay. What had been an otherwise very nice stay ended on a sour note for no good reason, in my opinion.

Review 15:Very easy to get around Chianti as well as to reach Siena, Florence, Arezzo and Crete. Excellent base for exploring the beautiful area with scenic views, parking and a nice pool.

Review 16:There was a problem with the shower. Besides, two days after we arrived we found some papers under the bed that were not ours.

Review 17:The nice comfortable room, the beautiful place where the hotel is.

Review 18:Lovely views, friendly knowledgable staff. Beautiful buildings in the Borgo, comfortable B&B accommodation. What more could you want in the centre of Chianti with easy access to a multitude of wonderful places.

Review 19:We liked our room, but this is beautiful building overlooking a wonderful panorama but the rooms are on the wrong side!

Review 20:But a most comfortable bed and facilities were very good. This would be a wonderful venue for a wedding!

Review 21:Slow Internet and poor breakfast.

Review 22:Very good staff, ready to help. We wanted to make a picnic outside, and they provided us with grill, lights and carbon to make fire. Also they gave us wine glasses. We had a very wonderful evening with a picturesque view on toscanian vineyards and a beautiful sunset! Also liked swimming pool and the hotel itself. Clean comfortable room with a good bathroom. Free parking area. If I go to Toscana again, I would definitely choose this place to stay!

Review 23:Staff were excellent and friendly. Room exceeded our expectation with great bathroom. Wine tasting was a bonus and breakfast was very good. Country property at its best.

Review 24:Our room looked nothing like that in the internet photos. It was very plain and basic. We had a "room". Perhaps an apartment would have been much nicer. For the slight difference in price that might have made the difference. Front desk had limited hours...9:00am-7:30pm whereas other places have earlier/later or 24/7. Property needs a little attention...eg. grass cutting, light bulbs need replacing outside eg.in pool area. It would be nice to have a bar opportunity there. They have a beautiful wine cellar that is unused except for a weekly wine tasting area... (Wednesday in September after we left)...and is overlooked by the breakfast area. They should open it daily 4-8 or so for guests...even if on the honor system. Also, I thought there was a restaurant on the property. There is not. There is a restaurant at the entrance to the property they send guests to. The property has good "bones" but has the feel that it needs a little more attention by the owners... that perhaps they have become disinterested. It was not bad but I would not return nor would I recommend it.

Review 25:Front desk staff was very helpful and friendly.they gave us lots of help with travel questions/suggestions. Very quiet and location close to Castellina in Chianti was good. Pool area was very peaceful. Location to Chianti region and wineries was food. Breakfast area was very nice. Room was clean and property was very quiet.

Review 26:The grounds were beautiful and picturesque! Plenty of greenery and rustic Tuscan buildings. Pool had an amazing view! Breakfast was simple but delicious! Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend to others.

Review 27:double room: too small, thin walls, damp smell breakfast: unvaried, tasteless old fruit. Could offer boiled eggs security: alarm code on front door from 6pm - replace with better lock or card entry

Review 28:apartments were comfortable but not regularly serviced nice location, view and swimming pool

Review 29:Location too remote. Management unhelpful and facilities poor - we were in one of the hotel rooms there was no bar, restaurant or anywhere on site to get a drink or snack - not even tea or coffee facility in the room. We had travelled by scooter for nearly 5 hours and all they could offer us was a small bottle if water!

Review 30:Stephanie on reception was very helpful in driving us to the local village for something to eat and arranging for the waiter to bring us back - off her own back - NOT THE HOTEL.

Review 31:Excellent location with great view of the valley. Beautiful location for breakfast. Close supermarket.

Review 32:The whole setting and area

Review 33:Very hot time of year, no air con.

Review 34:Location close to so many villages. Pool great!

Review 35:amazing pool, such friendly staff, great restaurant reachable on foot from the hotel

Review 36:No AC in the room, wifi was breaking down...

Review 37:Pool

Review 38:Such a beautiful setting, very quiet and peaceful.. Just loved our time spent in this stunning villa.

Review 39:Barbecue area needs some more care. It could be so nice place but is a bit neglected.

Review 40:Friendliness of staff

Review 41:We liked the view, the rooms and the location. Breakfasts were very good, the place was clean and the staff was excellent. We had a great time there...

Review 42:The breakfast was awful, the only time in Italy we have been unable to drink the coffee (filter only). Frozen bread, almost empty preserve pots VERY poor standard.

Review 43:Great location. Nice pool.

Review 44:Would like more choice at breakfast. Limited to check in times if you have an evening flight.

Review 45:Beautiful setting, pool was stunning and location was great. I'd definitely return and had a wonderful time.

Review 46:Nothing!

Review 47:We loved absolutely every minute of our time there. The apartment was wonderful and the manager Cinzia was super nice and helpful. I would go back in a minute! It was heaven on earth and the location is perfect for exploring Tuscany.

Review 48:Front desk person was not especially helpful or friendly. The amenities on the website and brochure were greatly over stated. The guest room was dark with a small window and no view. Overall, not a good value for the money.

Review 49:Morning breakfast in the wine cellar was lovely. The property has a lot of history and charm.

Review 50:We stayed in small apartment that was nicely furnished and in good condition. Location is very good in "the best part of Tuscany". There are lot of beautiful small villages and towns to visit nearby. View from the villa and pool is macnificant.

Review 51:Borgo di Pietrafitta Relais is idyllically situated, surrounded by a beautiful landscape and with only a short drive to the beautiful little town of Castellina. The apartments are spacious and charming, and well equipped with all you need for a comfortable stay without spending all your cash in restaurants. The staff is wonderfully helpful and friendly. Be sure to try their own wine.

Review 52:internet is working only close to reception and ONLY during business hours of the reception, e.g. in the evening internet wi-fi is not possible in the apartments they could offer also a bit of salt, sugar and coffee, so you do not need to bring whole bunch of these tinny things for vacation. Shop is nearby but still it takes you 30 minutes to it and back

Review 53:nice apartment good equipment friendly staff

Review 54:Could have an iron in the apartment, Mosquitos were a pest and was askedto pay for wines that were charged to our room even though we hadn'tbought any. In the end we weren't charged but left us embarrassed andleft a slight negative in an otherwise fab holiday.

Review 55:Location on a Tuscan hill was beautiful. You're left verymuch to yourown devises so nobody disturbs you.

Review 56:Amazing hotel, pool incredible and the complementary wine tasting held at the hotel was fabulous! As the the food, breakfast great (fruit, coffee, toast, cake, yogurt), restaurant 5 min walk from the hotel just divine. You need a car around here as lots of small towns and wineries to check out. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Review 57:Borgio di Pietrafitta is a high quality, old-world, rustic yet renovatedplace, perfect for just chilling by the pool - sort of like a mini-village with old-style mini-townhouses - but a couple of minor drawbacks(for us and maybe not for others and this may be a minority opinion) inthat our unit did not have any views from the living room (some ofcourse do), no door opening out onto the terrace - perhaps designed thatway to keep house cool in summer - the view from the table outside wherewe ate breakfast and some nights dinnner was fine - but then there was aprivacy issue as you were in full view of neighbours dining on theirterrace as well - also if you need wifi on holiday - and many would sayyou don't - but we had some work to do as we are travelling for 6 weeksin europe - you had to walk up to reception. In short we intentionallychose Chianti region and Castellina over Greve. But for novices, thecountryside around Greve, Radda and closer to Siena is more scenic. Ourview faced west and our days were 35 to 40 deg C. Borgo di Pietrafittawas very nice - the problem was more regional - having been to Provence,Chianti lacks a lot - in France and even Austria - there a musicaltreats in village square etc Tuscany shuts down for a few hours inmiddle of day. I am a cyclist so Chianti was perfect for this - Goodstaff, a nice social wine and cheese tasting session late on oneafternoon - overall, most people would love this place - ourneighbouring guests were from Bavaria and after a day increased theirbooking from one week to two

Review 58:Good unit with facilities - reasonably well equiped kitchen - good bed -quiet locatiob

Review 59:Sean on reception who was working when we arrived friendly. I had contact with other two staff both females, one I asked why we had no private sitting area she was not helpful and did not offer to move us even though there were empty units available. On checking out the girl on reception did not ask us if we enjoyed our stay she was very ungracious. The accommodation was fine - however it was spoiled by the fact that we had no private outside sitting area. The hotel itself needs a bit of a spruce up in reception area. The reception area is not inviting. The grounds need tidying up. The BBQ area needs weeding and some Sean on reception who was working when we arrived friendly. Review 60:Views

Review 61:Remember, this is a housekeeping apartment with the basics being a small bag of clothes washing soap and dish detergent. Remember to bring cone-shaped coffee filters if you plan to make American style coffee. (There is an espresso pot for your caffeine fix.) There is a market in the town with everything you need, however it's closed on Sundays so plan accordingly. The hotel offers you the option of having some groceries there when you arrive. It was the perfect 4-day break between Rome and Venice.

Review 62:After our warm welcome, we were shown a lovely, immaculate 2 BR apartment with a full kitchen, sleeping spaces for 6, and a convenient clothes washer. Our unit was also handicapped accessible and overlooked a gorgeous view and the hotel's infinity pool. We traveled with 2 other adults (family). The setting was serene (we never heard or saw the other guests) and restful, the staff responsive and helpful. It was convenient to many local towns, with great restaurants and delicious wine.

Review 63:My only complaint, and maybe it was we were the first of the season to arrive, was the email communication. I felt that more attention should have been paid to it. In spite of this we will definitely return.

Review 64:The location was great, less than an hour drive south from Florence (between Florence and Sienna). The views were fantastic, the infinity pool beautiful, the villa very comfortable, and the staff very informed and helpful. Oh, and there is wireless if you go to the reception area...a pleasant surprise. We plan to visit again.

Review 65:Having to go off the premises to eat and drink. No bar to buy drinks and snacks

Review 66:Location is unbelievable Swimming pool is beautiful

Review 67:Location is fantastic, authentic Tuscan accommodation in beautiful surroundings.

Review 68:Wasps around the pool

Review 69:The place

Review 71:Fantastic building well converted to b&b accommodation with excellent swimming pool with great views .
