Review 1：Hotel is located next to an open fronted restaurant which has a very loud live disco running from about 9pm to 1am. Despite using ear plugs the music, if it can be called that, reverberated throughout the hotel on our side(directly next door). We contacted the night manager who informed us it would cease at 1am. Which it did. Next morning, Friday, we asked the front desk if this was to be a nightly occurrence. Later that day we were told there would be no loud music that night. Wrong! 9pm more of the same. We phoned reception and luckily the house manager was on duty and he immediately offered us another room on the opposite side of the hotel where we enjoyed a relatively quiet night's sleep. Not the best of experiences. Apparently this has been the case for some considerable time. I would recommend when booking to ask for a room on the opposite side to the cafe/disco.

Review 6：Palau is a great location for exploring the La Maddalena Archipelago and Costa Smeralda. Hotel was conveniently located directly opposite the marina/port. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and beautifully decorated in Sardinian style.

Review 7：Some of the staff are surly and unhelpful. The wifi constantly drops its connection. Really irritating. The Friday market meant access to the hotel was severely restricted. It would have been helpful if the hotel had warned us.

Review 10：Spacious room with enough space to store your luggage. Well cured breakfast and most amiable staff. There is a large paying parking facility in front of the hotel. The hotel has a beach towel service. Plenty of good restaurants close to the hotel.

Review 17：Great location in downtown Palau, a short walk from the docks and right next to the area where they set up a market. Room was spacious and clean, staff were very friendly. Breakfast was good- standard European continental fare. Parking was available nearby.

Review 18：The man at the front desk (JJ?) was so caring!!He kept phoning every phone number we had (even to the US) to say we had left our passports: Throughout our stay, he went far to assure we had everything we needed.Added to this is a good price and a good room with great beds and wifi. Highly recommend!

Review 24：Friendly and very helpful staff. The room was very large and quiet with plenty of space to unpack everything. We had a small balcony with comfortable seats as well as a very comfortable sofa in the room - very much appreciated after a long day sightseeing. The staff gave recommendations of places to go on the islands and the less crowded beaches. The hotel is ideally located to walk a short distance to the ferry to La Madellena or any one of the many day boats oddering day trips. When we arrived we were offered free car parking as it was October - the car park is small, so not all guests will have a space at busy times, however there is a large car park in front of the hotel. In the evenings there are plenty of restaurants to choose from within a short walk of the hotel. The breakfast room isn't large enough for all to eat at once - but we had no real problem (few minutes wait one day). We hope to return - we stayed 3 nights this time, but next time we are likely to stay longer as there is plenty to see and do in the area.

The hotel served a good breakfast, it is located in the middle of the village, just by the port an all restaurants and stores. There are several nice beaches a few minutes’ drive away. I do not know if this is positive or negative, but there is a large parking space just in front of the hotel. 1€ pr/h from 8-20. Ruins the view, but there is always available parking close to the hotel.

The conditions in the hotel are ok, but I was especiallyamazed by stuff - everyone was helpful and friendly. I really feltconfortable during my whole stay. The stuff from bar and reception werereally nice and made my day. Also, the prices in the hotel areunbelievable good (Capuccino 1.5 Eur, bottle of good wine 15 Eur etc) soyou can spend with no stress the whole day in the lobby. I recommendthis hotel, especially if you want to have to spend more time inside thehotel then outside.

Review 109：I stayed at La Vecchia Fonte for a week. It has an excellent harbour location which is a good base for getting to nearby islands (harboour literally across the road) and also for getting to nearby Porto Cervo (30 mins away) and only 40 mins for the airport. The hotel is spotless and I was travelling alone and they made a real effort to show me where to go and make me welcome (Anja was excellent on the front desk). It does not have a swimming pool but you really don't need it as their is a good beach tens mins away and stacks of seriously lovely beaches within an easy drive.
