Reviews for Hotel Colle Etrusco Salivolpi
Review 1:The room was small but cosy and spotless. It was off season so didn't have a chance to use pool or garden. The breakfast was good. Soft boiled eggs in addition to the usual items.
Review 2:No problems.
Review 3:The staff was amazing -very professional, always helpful and resourceful. They were gracious at all times. It was great to be able to walk into town so easily. The breakfast was terrific. We needed to leave early one morning, so the staff started the breakfast time early for us!
Review 4:Nothing, really.
Review 5:In the center of Tuscany, in the beautiful Chianti region, everything worth seeing is less than one hour away by car. Lovely, relaxing place, quality breakfast (gluten free food as well). Nice staff, clean rooms, lovely garden. What else would you need?
Review 6:Rich breakfast. Cozy and lovely room. Receptionist is very warm and helpful, providing good dinner recommendations. Within walking distance to the downtown.
Review 7:Chose as was close to Castellina in Chianti where we attended the wedding of our friends, beautiful hotel/setting,highly recommend. About 15-20minute walk to centre. Staff very helpful too.
Review 8:The room was a bit small (but perfectly comfortable).
Review 9:Large garden where you can sit out in the sun or under the shade of the trees. Swimming pool. Friendly and efficient staff. Good position on the edge of Castellina in Chianti, with an excellent restaurant 5 minutes walk away.
Review 10:Staff very friendly and couldn't do enough for us.Close proximity to restaurants and Town.Great location for exploring the region.Good road links.
Review 11:No problems although being pedantic, the pool area was okay, but could do with a face-lift to be more "user-friendly".
Review 12:The hotel is in Castellina-in-Chianti, and so ideal for our return visit to this favourite town.
Review 13:- Quiet hotel located between Firenze and Siena and at walking distance to the centre of Castellina (in the middle of the Chianti region) - Large and comfortable bed and fine bathroom with good, quiet airco in a rustic Tuscan design room. - Pleasant garden with good swimming pool. - Breakfast is good (but unfortunately only 3 tables in the garden). - Only B&B, but in Castellina there are good restaurants and also near the hotel, like Il Fondacio Dai Dotori (a 10% reduction for Salivolpi hotel guests). - Friendly staff. - Safe parking and free wifi.
Review 14:very small comment - would have preferred the option of proper cappuccino at breakfast rather than self service machine - otherwise nothing else detracted from our stay
Review 15:good location, excellent facilities, helpful and friendly staff, grounds and swimming pool
Review 16:cut off from everywhere else..castellina is ten min walk but not much to see or buy or do...it was not communicated that you should get a car and do self drive as all neighbouring villages need a cab to commute and the rates charged by cabs are a rip off...180 euros for two villages of approx 20 mins /30 mins distance is not justifiable
Review 17:lovely garden close to the breakfast area, comy reception area, room..
Review 18:I would certainly recomend this hotel but you do need a car
Review 19:The staff were extremely helpful. Sivia, on the front desk gave us maps , information etc. She managed to book us on a tour of the local vineyard with just five minutes notice. Because the staff were so friendly there was a lovely atmoshere in the bar at night.
Review 20:Because it's a little outside the village, there are not a lot of eating options within a kilometre. That wasn't an issue for us, but just something to note if you like being steps away from restaurants and coffee shops.
Review 21:Just a kilometre outside the village of Castellina, this small hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Chianti Valley. The staff are friendly, the rooms are comfortable and the breakfast options are good by Italian standards. The location is lovely, with lots of small roads and trails to get lost walking the countryside.
Review 22:Nothing
Review 23:The staff is very friendly and polite, the place is excellent and also breakfast is very good. There's free WI-FI everywhere. We hope we'll come back soon!
Review 24:Cant praise this hotel enough; the room and the hotel property was simply gorgeous and beautifully maintained; Silvia at the hotel desk was so warm, informative and helpful, the breakfast had a good variety and was delicious, cant find a single fault with the place! We had a little mishap while arriving by train to the place and Silvia was very helpful with arranging a taxi transfer to the hotel. Great place for relaxing in the picturesque countryside of Tuscany.
Review 25:We stayed as a group of five family members in three rooms and had a wonderful time. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and the location and rooms were quite excellent. Thank you'
Review 26:The Hotel is in the beautiful position on top of the hill with panoramic views. The staff is very friendly and helpful - all questions are answered. There is a very nice restaurant in 5 min walk and a lot of other places to eat and to drink in the village.
Review 27:None.
Review 28:Beautiful surroundings, peaceful countryside, away from the bustle of cities. Ideal to relax, yet gives you access to all frequented locations if you are in the mood.
Review 29:The B&B grounds are fantastic... beautiful garden and pool area. Less than 10 min walk to Castellina centre which is full of restaurants and little shops. Staff was very helpful and hospitable. We like travelling to Tuscany and this would definitely be a place we consider going back to.
Review 30:The room is not so big, but the rest is perfect.
Review 31:Castellina does not have turistic attractions, but it has good restaurants to eat at night and the location is good for a base to visit other cities. The hotel is very good, clean and has a wonderfull breakfast.
Review 32:Perfect location for a wedding proposal - well, at least my boyfriend thought so!! :D Staff was very helpful giving us tips on things to see and do around Castellina in Chianti. Our room was beautiful and breakfast was delicious!
Review 33:It would be a bit far to walk into town for some people
Review 34:Great atmosphere and friendly and helpful staff and fantastic breakfast... would definately stay here agin
Review 35:Nothing.
Review 36:The staff were there when we arrived and helped us plan our next days. They were bang with everything they suggested. We extended our stay for 3 days!
Review 37:Nothing really
Review 38:The hotel is within walking distance to the centre of Castellina, with a good restaurant right next door. Cosy, individual rooms, beautiful garden with pool and terrace and very friendly staff. In the evenings they run a little bar so you can have a drink without going out. Excellent breakfast and overall a very relaxing atmosphere!
Review 39:There really is nothing not to like except if you don't like to walk, there is a bit of a stroll into town. For us, this was a great way to burn off a couple of calories after eating some great food in town.
Review 40:Ideally situated midway between Siena and San Gimignano. Also close to Radda and Castello de Brolio. An easy walk into Castellino in Chianti, where there is a great selection of restaurants and small shops. This is a quaint little medieval village. The staff is incredibly friendly and willing to assist you with your itinerary or anything else. The breakfast buffet was great and again, the kitchen staff was helpful and friendly.
Review 41:The bed mattress was not the most comfortable but was good enough for 2 nights.
Review 42:The hotel was perfect for a Tuscany setting, rustic yet very comfortable and close to Castelina in Chianti's center. Breakfast accommodations were super. The receptionist was very kind and informative about the towns nearby that we could drive to and do some wine tastings and explorations. Great stay!!!!!!
Review 43:Beds were a little uncomfortable
Review 44:Everything, fantastic stay. Great restaurant just 60m down the road. Fantastic breakfast for only €7. Staff friendly and helpful. We had car trouble and also got lost. Receptionist kept in contact with us and waited till we arrived safely. Great pool, great views, just a perfect Hotel
Review 45:The only negative part of the trip is that I had to leave. I could have stayed another week and Silvia would have had a new place for us to visit each day.
Review 46:The staff, especially Silvia, was wonderful. She gave us a number of interesting excursions and her dining recommendations were excellent. The hotel is close enough to Castellina in Chianti to walk to town . This is the second time I have stayed there and just love it. Easy access to Seina, Pisa and Florence
Review 47:Wonderfully helpful staff. All were friendly and polite. Very clean . Good sized room. Good range of breakfast products. One restaurant within 60m and you could walk into centre of Castillina in10minswhere there approx8 more eateries.
Review 48:Our mattress was very uncomfortable but the issue has been quickly solved. So we can only recommend this hotel!
Review 49:Staff were very friendly and gave us loads of tips and helped us with bookings. They were also very accommodating as they offered us an option when we complained about the mattress. The room was lovely, simple but spacious enough for us. Breakfast was good and the homemade pastries were so yummy! The location is great as it is very close to the center of Castellina in Chianti, a charming village where you can find all basic services and some good restaurants. There is a restaurant just 200 mts which is also delish. Definitely recommend it as a good basis for travelling around Tuscany and Chianti more precisely.
Review 50:There was nothing I did not like- delightful from start yo finish!!
Review 51:We went to this hotel out of the blue for two days to go to a wedding nearby. It was amazing!!!'The surroundings were beautiful and vet relaxing, the staff could not do enough for us, pool was huge and very clean, the breakfast delicious, and the price was fantastic value for money. My favourite stay on a multi- destination Italian trip!! Will definitely come back if I can!!

Very willing to help and this made our trip as we have a small child with food allergies and they went above and beyond our expectations to make sure my daughter had something to eat. Review 76:Nice location to visit the places in the area

Review 89:spacious rom friendly staff
Review 90:We liked everything about the hotel and village.
Review 91:The shower in our room was a bit small (not a major issue). I believe other rooms there have bigger showers.
Review 92:Tuscany is beautiful (an understatement), and this B&B is situated outside a perfectly charming little Tuscan town, Castellina in Chianti. We loved it here! The staff was the warmest and most welcoming of our stay so far in Italy, and the atmosphere is lovely and relaxing and charming. There are three buildings comprising an authentic 1600s farmhouse, but renovated enough so they are comfortable while maintaining an authentic feel. The garden, next to the main building and accessible to the bar, has a terrace surrounded by lovely flowers, a few shade trees, and chairs and chaise lounges throughout. The pool looked fine although we didn't go in. We wish we could have stayed longer! Next time we visit Italy, we hope to come back to Hotel Salivolpi and stay for at least a week. We see it as a perfect place to relax and enjoy the Tuscan beauty while being within day-trip driving distance of other sites of interest like Florence, Siena, and even the beach!
Review 93:A little out of town. Need to drive but only 2 minutes.
Review 94:The hotel was very idyllic and quiet. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Sylvia at the front desk is excellent! She help pie set up tours and was able to answer every question we had about the area. I would definitely recommend to all my friends.
Review 95:- nothing
Review 96:- very charming Hotel, ideal for relax - great place to have a good rest away from the city rush and crowds - really kind and helpful reception service, making us feel like at home - tasteful breakfast with a nice service - good connection to Siena/Florence
Review 97:Coffee at breakfast was weak by italian standards.
Review 98:Wonderful little town. Best hotel in the village. Very nice breakfast. Just like being at home. Staff very nice, scheduled a wine tour for us.
Review 99:My husband would have liked a restaurant on the premises as walking was difficult for him and there was no comfortable chair in our room. However, we were close to the lobby and the sitting area.
Review 100:I liked the outdoor patio, lovely gardens, the peaceful and quiet nights, the gracious and helpful staff, our ground floor room, and the big bathroom. Also, there were good restaurants close by. The views were lovely. I enjoyed the walk into town. We were given very good information for a trip each day that we were there. The Chianti region is spectacular.
Review 101:Hotel was excellent. Staff were more than helpful and enthusiastic about making your time in Chianti the best it could be. Rooms were clean, wifi coverage was ok, breakfast was excellent. Location was a short walk from the town centre.
Review 102:Did not like that the hotel did not have WiFi available in the rooms, every other hotel, B&B and other accommdation has this service forfree, yet it was only available in the reception area for €2.00 atyour hotel.
Review 103:Location to Castsllina in Chianti, proximity to Florence,Siena and theTuscan region. Very helpful staff in guiding us where to visit whilst inthe region.
Review 104:There was nothing I didn't like.
Review 105:This facitly was in a beautiful setting in a scenic village with nice restaurants. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The property itself was peaceful, clean, and just great to relax there. I would happily return.
Review 106:Swimming pool was too cold for swimming.
Review 107:Amazing location outside of a small Tuscan town that is not too touristy. Staff were amazingly helpful - really fantastic. Breakfast was excellent as well (except for the eggs). Rooms were very clean, well maintained, and quiet.
Review 108:Good hotel in the middle of the chianti region. The staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel is perfect to go around the region to discover small towns and vineyards.
Review 109:N/A
Review 110:Such a friendly welcome. The Receptionist kindly arranged for our two rooms, for two couples, to be in the same area. Both were so friendly and interested in us as guests.
Review 111:Breakfast not included in the price, 7 EUR / day / person.
Review 112:Really nice place to stay, countryside, pool, garden, wine, all you need is there. Quiet place, not far to the centre. Tasty breakfast. Helpfull and friendly staff. Great starting point to Chianti travelling.
Review 113:The room was very small, bed and pillows uncomfortable and the bathroom was very dated (the tiles with flower design must be from 1980s). I think this hotel is very expensive given the dated bathrooms.
Review 114:It is a very friendly place. The receptionist seems to be able to speak every language imaginable with guests which we found incredible. She gave us good advice as to where to go and where to eat and we were allowed to use the parking space even after we checked out. The hotel has a nice well maintained garden with beautiful views on the mountains.
Review 115:Great location, a cute gem in the heart of tuscany! Close to Chianti Castle and other sites. Close enough to walk to village of Castellina in Chianti. Next door to best pizza / italian restaurant in town. The inn is a converted stone farmhouse with excellent decor and has great courteous staff!
Review 116:Room close to receptionist were noisy and rooms above were also noisy, not a big problem though. Dogs barking in the area at night were also somewhat of an issue.
Review 117:Very clean, quaint rooms. Location was perfect for Chianti touring.
