Reviews for Grand Hotel Trento

Review 1:The hotel is a bit dated but the rooms are very clean and comfortable.

Review 2:The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I would go so far as to say it was the best service I have received in all of Italy. The hotel is in a great location and has very easy access to the train station and downtown.

Review 3:Deserves the rating earned. Great location near the station and near the main touristic points. Classical Style Hotel but very well kept.large rooms ,lobby and corridors. Many options at the breakfast buffe. Staff very gentile. Would return and highly recomend.

Review 4:This facility was wonderful. The hotel is situated right next to the old town. Our room was excellent and the entire facility was first rate. Breakfast was generous. While we ate at the restaurant only once, the food was delicious and we regret not eating there more often. Old town has been turned into a boutique shopping area with many good restaurants.

Review 5:Shower drain was not working well, it may be systematic problem because the size of the drain is relatively small. There was ironing board in the room, but it did not work. The appearance of the room is rather old-fashioned. Breakfast is disappointment. The automatic hotel gate turn around very slow.

Review 6:Spacious room, large desk, wifi ok.

Review 7:Female reception staff were open and warm, however, a male at reception was aloof and lacking in hospitality skills.

Review 8:Very comfortable and pleasant hotel located close to the railway station.

Review 9:Everything is great here at this hotel. It is only a few hundred feet from the train station, the room was huge with closet space available, a big bathroom, and comfy beds. Awesome breakfast and super nice hotel staff always ready to help! Excellent Wifi connection in the room-flawless!

Review 10:None

Review 11:The hotel was located very near the train station and the staff was very helpful in providing information. The rooms were clean and spacious and the breakfast was great.

Review 12:Better toiletries would be more appropriate for a hotel of it's stature.

Review 13:We were very lucky to get an upgrade to the Presidential Suite, which was fabulous! Great facilities, incredible views, delicious food (best scrambled eggs we have ever had), excellent location.

Review 14:On the Sunday, many people came down late to breakfast, but no account was taken of the delay that this caused. Breakfast had to be bolted down, because the staff were keen to put breakfast things away promptly. I think a little bit more flexibility would have been in order.

Review 15:The location close to the train station and historic centre is superb. The architecture and design of the hotel are very impressive. The staff are friendly and efficient;the facilities generally of a very high quality. Most rooms have great views, with vistas opening towards the mountains.

Review 16:The location for the city centre is very good, but the noise from the park outside after midnight is disturbing. There should be an effort made to reduce the noise.

Review 17:The rooms are a good size; they are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is good and the service is professional.

Review 18:No wall outlet at bedside, WiFi only stable on the balcony or on ground floor, no hotel slippers.

Review 19:Friendliness of staff, garage at the hotel, nice room, good breakfast.

Review 20:Been travelling in Europe for seven weeks and comparing the hotel rate, with what was delivered, this is has got to be the best best hotel ever. Totally awesome.

Review 21:Constant mechanical humming noise in room made it difficult to sleep (room 616). The breakfast looked better than it really was...please decent coffee not milky weak cappuchino from a do-it-yourself machine.

Review 22:The impressive hotel lobby and comfortable bed. Convenient for the train station for those on Sur Tyrol mobilcards.

Review 23:Ambience, quality of room and food, friendliness of staff, central location - all excellent. Fantastic value for money. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough.

Review 24:the hotel had a lovely welcoming feel about it. We had a meal in the restaurant - food was superb and staff very attentive. We would definitely stay there again.

Review 25:Why no bar on the rooftop terrace?

Review 26:Beautiful facilities, a beautiful and spacious room, an amazing mountain view from the balcony. The breakfast was excellent and the hotel bar, while pricy, served us perfectly executed examples of Negroni and Aperol Spritz (with "free" chips and small sandwiches on the side). The location was perfect, it was only a few minutes walk to the immediate city centre. The garage is a plus also.

Review 27:We got the suite of the hotel on the 5th floor for our honeymoon. It was a very nice, clean and big room. The suite feels very luxurious. We enjoyed the city.

Review 28:Great location, very clean rooms, good breakfast buffet. They had a pet friendly policy which made our stay very pleasant. The staff were polite, helpful and efficient.

Review 29:nothing except for the heat in the region.

Review 30:The rooms were comfortable, we didn't know how to insert the cardkeys in the slot to switch on the lights, were informed of the way by phone. We enjoyed the wide variety of breakfast. I checked if the eggs on the counter were boiled or not, which was a good idea since they were raw. Some guests took them to their tables without boiling them. Wonder what have become of them.

Review 31:The rooms was beautiful. We received a great and thoughtful upgrade. The location is terrific and the back garden was delightful FO breakfast. The staff was helpful, cheerful, and professional. Just a wonderful stay and we'll be staying at the Grand Hotel again next year when we return to Trento.

Review 32:Staff at the reception at night was not the level you would expect in this really professionally managed hotel.

Review 33:... then take this hotel into consideration. Excellent value for money, stilish rooms and bar in a really nice hotel. WiFi works well and fast, also in the room. Breakfast fits for all preferences, although the coffee is poor compared to Italian standard. Good parking area, easy access also for bigger cars. Good spot for hiker and biker - you will find a lot of like-minded friends there.

Review 34:They have a wonderful terrace on the sixth floor with a great view. It would have been great to have a bar there instead of having to transport drinks from downstairs. The SPA area is unfortunately closed on Sunday so make sure you don't plan any massage or sauna at the hotel on that day.

Review 35:It's a classy hotel overlooking Piazza Dante, a three minute walk from Trento train station. The lobby looks very old-school (marble, chandelier, mirrors, wood etc.) but without going over the top and more importantly without actually looking or smelling old. The room was nice with a view of the mountains, a very comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom. Breakfast was open buffet, tasty and varied (it's possible to eat inside as well as on the terrace). We also tried the restaurant which did not disappoint with some very good pasta and desserts.

Review 36:Nothing.

Review 37:Very comfortable, quiet, hotel with excellent air conditioning. Within 200 metres of the station and the old town. Its summer prices, mean the best hotel in my first week in Italy wasalso the cheapest.

Review 38:There was a small mix up at check in which was resolved quickly and professionally by Michaela.

Review 39:Very friendly and accommodating staff who did a great job in making a good impression of the hotel and the beautiful town of Trento

Review 40:The TVs were hard to use and the Wifi in the room was poor; better wifi in the lobby.

Review 41:We had a beautiful room with balcony; the restaurant served very good food and the service was friendly and not pushy.

Review 42:Great position, secure parking, fabulous breakfast, lovely bathroom. As a family of four we had two interconnected rooms. Staff very polite and helpful. Air con extremely useful in the summer heat.

Review 43:As we stayed here at an extremely hot time of year a swimming pool would have been lovely. The pillows on the bed were very uncomfortable. But these are minor things.

Review 44:The hotel is in a great location, easy to find and only a short 5 minute walk to the old city. It's clean and very comfortable. Breakfast selection is wide and accommodates all tastes. Staff were extremely helpful.

Review 45:No really bad experience but the underused basement "beauty" facility could be more fruitfully converted to a gym. No pool. The breakfasts tended to be a bit samey, so for a 6 night stay, boredom can set in. The dining facilities and menu seemed to be geared to corporate conferences rather than local specialities. Management could ask itself why the bar and roof terrace are so underused.

Review 46:Location very good. Parking underground very convenient whereas street parking very difficult. Hotel is very well appointed and reception staff helpful. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Decoration varies from traditional to verging on bling, but it was ok by me. Air con quiet and welcome in 35+ outside temperatures.

Review 47:Although breakfast was good, the two coffee machines were faulty and everybody got boiled water or mildly brown boiled water. The staff couldn't fix it even after 1 hour neither did they serve coffee by other means.

Review 48:Good location, good for business visit. Free underground parking.

Review 49:Slightly erratic WI but not really too much of a problem.

Review 50:Excellent location, comfortable bedroom and quiet with good bathroom . The staff were pleasant and the garden evening dining was a delight ...especially the local ducks! The bar was really beautiful and the bar staff most helpfull.

Review 51:Decor could use an update.

Review 52:We did not expect this level of accommodation for the room rate we paid. Continental breakfast was very good. We only stayed one night. Wish we had booked at least 2.

Review 53:Only thing that could be improved upon was the water pressure of the shower

Review 54:Locations of the hotel was perfect. The room was excellent and the under ground car park was a great facility to have.

Review 55:No irons...maybe they should have irons and require deposit to use. They did have press board but not the same. Still, everything else is perfect!

Review 56:A very elegant hotel that was most impressive on all levels! Would definitely stay here again!

Review 57:Wi-fi too slow, breakfast plentiful, but very monotonous (for 4-stars hotel), air-conditioner too noisy and can not give good temperature (it was time when outside was about +36C).

Review 58:The excellent position of this hotel, clearness, good staff, comfortable rooms, close to the city centre and the train station.

Review 59:I need to provide my email address and agree to receive the information from this hotel, in order to get the WiFi password.

Review 60:The location and environment of the hotel.

Review 61:There was no coffee making facility in the room

Review 62:Everyone was very nice and the hotel is very central. I came down late for breakfast on the first morning but nobody cared. Take your time! This is not just a hotel but also a venue and the place is very impressive.

Review 63:A four star hotel experience for a modest price. Beautiful rooms and facility, excellent and professional staff, a free upgrade to a junior suite and an amazing complimentary breakfast, we will always stay here for future travels to this area.

Review 64:suites provide tea and coffee making facilities but no milk!!! Reception advised us that they don't provide milk!!

Review 65:upgraded to a suite. Excellent service in general

Review 66:Great location - 5 min. walk from the city center. Very spacious and quiet rooms. Delicious breakfast. The guy at the reception recommended us very good restortant. Safe parking. И ако имате късмет (като нас), може да срещнете в хотела волейболния отбор, воден от Радо Стойчев :))

Review 67:The staff was amazing, they were elegantly warm. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing, full of alternatives. Location of the hotel was so good. I like everything about the hotel, I think :D

Review 68:Beds were a bit too low to the ground.

Review 69:Great location, convenient for walking old-town Trento. Breakfast was good and plentiful, and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

Review 70:nothing

Review 71:Everything.. This was my 2nd stay within 6 months.. and once again the staff were very friendly and helpful (and speak good English !). Room was perfect, evening meal and breakfast was very good with large varied menu.. Thoroughly good value for moeny ..Recommended

Review 72:All was perfect!

Review 73:The hotel is very nice and comfortable. It's situated close to the centre of Trento. The staff were so kind and helpful. We had a wonderful time there and we were able to visit Riva del Garda, Limone sul Garda, Bolzano etc, easy to reach by car.

Review 74:Really poor breakfast (instant juice; instant coffee from coffee machine - you must ask the staff for real coffee then you get one; you do not want to grab the spoons at the buffet because they where quite fatty and dirty). Room temperature could not be lowered below 23°C (way too hot). I really have a problem if in a four star hotel the majority of the staff is not able to understand school level English. What I write here repeats in the hundreds of evaluations below. Since people visit still the hotel the management seems not to care what people say...

Review 75:Very clean. Reliable room service. Checkout without hassle. Nice floor in main entrance.

Review 76:The breakfast is amazing. There is a wide variety of foods and the breakfast staff is always accomodating. This hotel is by no means the most expensive in Trento. As a matter of fact, I think it is one of the cheapest around. I have stayed there 3 times and had a wonderful experience each time. We had a small balcony that was standard with our visit. The bed is a little hard, but I slept very well. The room is large as well as the bathrooms.

Review 77:Excellent value. Not much more than some 3 stars I've stayed in but very nice stay for the price. Good location across nice park from train station. Great breakfast.

Review 78:The only reason I didn't give it 10 was the fact that we were not able to have a complimentary tea and coffe tray in the room

Review 79:The sheer quality of everything and the outstanding sevice

Review 80:the room service guy got in the room and used the phone to speak to the reception without asking me if he could enter my room

Review 81:the air of a relatively old but good hotel

Review 82:Rooms - a little too hot. Turn down the temperature!

Review 83:Very friendly staff both a front desk and breakfast room. Excellent location right beside the old quarter.

Review 84:I wish they had a pool :)

Review 85:Provided us with an early checkin and late check out for free. We had a small child and this was very convenient. Great location in front of a park and not far from the city center.

Review 86:wifi access is through social login and it quickly becomes annoying to sign in if you have multiple devices and you on/off your wifi. It would be great if the hotel made a simple username/password for wifi which then never expires during the stay.

Review 87:Situated next to train and bus station and 5 mins from piazza duomo makes the hotel location excellent. Breakfast was good, hotel was clean and staff friendly.

Review 88:That we had to leave.

Review 89:Well, everything. This waqs our sixth stay at GHT and we will continue to stay whenever we travel to Alto Adige (Sud Tirol). While the facility is in a fantastic location, has great amenities, a wonderful bar and a superb restaurant, it is truly the outstanding staff that makes us want to return time after time.

Review 90:none

Review 91:we arrived by train and found the hotel right across the station, just two minutes walk but still very quiet. we had a lovely room on the fifth floor at the back of the hotel. the hotel in general was great, including all the staff. they were all helpful. we were there over the new year and also attended their organised gala dinner. breakfast was more than enough and evening meals were exquisite. we strongly recommend this hotel and look forward to going back.

Review 92:Fantastic hotel! It was fully occupied when we visited and it ran like clockwork. Great breakfast. lovely staff. People complain about tinned music but it really is not an issue! Trento is a lovely town.

Review 93:I was very surprised that even the sauna cost extra (10€/h!) because the description suggests in my opinion even in different languages that it is included. The staff told me to complain here directly. Without the use of this small part of the wellness center included, I think the hotel it isn't a good deal. I would prefer a more explicit information.

Review 94:close to the station and city center, perfect breakfast

Review 95:We stayed in a twin room (two single beds). I found my bed too narrow and the mattress quite uncomfortable. Pity because a room of that size has enough space for larger and more comfortable beds.

Review 96:Excellent location just two steps from the city centre, very rich buffet breakfast, large and very clean rooms, helpful staff. Very good value-for-money overall.

Review 97:They forgot to clean our room by mistake. But when we complained about it, they immediately apologized and arranged the cleaning at 5 pm! So, even if this little incident, they were amazing.

Review 98:Everything! The hotel is absolutely amazing. It is really close to the train station, the breakfast is really good, the bed and the shower are good as well. We spent a great weekend at this hotel. I totally recommend it!

Review 99:Meaningless and complicated registration process for the use of the free wi-fi. Expensive parking. No curtain in the shower.

Review 100:Perfect location, well-maintained hotel, elegant old-style facilities, spacious public areas (reception area, lobby, dining area), cosy and warm room, clean bathroom, nice view of the park from room window, good breakfast.

Review 101:11 euros for the parking, but then the day after I could leave the car there until I wanted.

Review 102:I picked up my wife at Verona's airport and then decided to visit the xmas markets in Trento. I chose this hotel due to the good booking rate, position and tariff. All was good and met our expectations. I would surely recommend to friends and come back when in Trento.

Review 103:The price i booked was quite high (30-40% higher than its normal price) but normally their price is reasonable.

Review 104:Very spacious and nice room with good breakfast, easy parking arrangement and close to main square (ard 5 min walk).

Review 105:suprisingly, noise became an issue; such as a working TV in the room next to mine, or when a baby started crying in one of the neighbouring rooms at around 6am, which woke me up.

Review 106:Breakfast was quality stuff, loved it. And sauna downstairs was simply an amazing facility - good, good, good!

Review 107:Shower was a little leaky from the doors. Some noise from the extractor on the roof during the breakfast service.

Review 108:A lovely room with a balcony and a great view. Clean and comfortable room. A lovely breakfast with yummy scrambled eggs.

Review 109:The menu for dinner is too expensive. Also, there is a tax for any meal delivered to your room!

Review 110:Very good breakfast, all the staff is really kind! We had a wonderful stay!

Review 111:Cost for WFI.

Review 112:Great breakfast to start day. Within walking distance to older part of town and train station. Only spent two nights but would return to this hotel if we return to spend more time. Needed more time to explore more of Trento.

Review 113:THE PARKING IN THE HOTEL IS NOT FREE. THE WIFI IS A LITLE COMPLICATED. NEAR THE BED AT THE HEAD AT TWO SIDES OF THE BED THERE IS NO ELECTRICAL POINT TO PUT THE SMARTPHONE OR IPAD.

Review 114:THE ROOM THAT WE RECEIVED WAS VERY BIG AND CONFORTABLE.

Review 115:- WiFi Internet connection some time doesn't working properly - there is coffe machine for breakfast, but if you ask espresso they will do.

Review 116:- Position - cleanliness - breakfast

Review 117:Lovely hotel, very traditional- I was only there briefly so didn't sample any of the facilities really, but the room was lovely (very spacious bathroom!) and the staff were all very helpful. Right opposite the station so handy if you are arriving/leaving by train.

Review 118:Like many large hotels, this one lacked a certain warmth and character. Still, everything ran with excellence and precision.

Review 119:Large, well-run hotel near the heart of the historic center of Trent. It featured comfortable, scrupulously clean rooms and a huge breakfast buffet. The polyglot staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Review 120:I found the constant 'musac' in all public areas hugely frustrating. There was nowhere to sit that was not subjected to it. I would suggest that they create quiet zones so that people can sit without having to put up with noise.

Review 121:The Sleeping Cushions was hard and uncomfortable. That is the only complaint that we have.

Review 122:The fact that we could walk from the station was excellent. The walking distance from the shops - excellent. The Hotel was spectacular inside. Breakfast was a real treat . We will definitely stay there again.

Review 123:Everything was just perfect. The staff was incredible, very helpful .The room are big clean and beautiful. Breakfast was very good. We alsoate dinner and it wad very special.

Review 124:Parking garage stalls very small with little room to maneuver.

Review 125:Close to park, shops, castle, churches, city center, rail station. Staff very kind, friendly, and helpful.

Review 126:The inside of the hotel is a sight to behold. Everything about the hotel was fantastic. The breakfast was excellent, nothing too much trouble for the staff. The room where the bar was situated was stunning and available for sitting around all day and night probably, Trento is a lovely town and we were there for the half marathon which started off from the Grand Hotel so good fun. Loved every minute of our 4 day stay and would love to stay there again.

Review 127:No nothing - everything was really good

Review 128:Amazing communal spaces - the design of the lobby, bar etc was very special. Bar open until 12 a.m.Parking under hotel easy to access and most direct of our overall trip and easy to find on same square as train station. Great value - cheapest hotel we stayed in of 7 on our holiday and by far the best standard. Outside seating available at breakfast and good raneg for breakfast. Auto control of lights etc in bedroom which was very clean and spacious. Beds had small luggage tables at the end which took cases off the floor - why cant all hotels have something as simple as this! Cross the road and about 5 mins to central square - you're not conscious of being at the station area as the hotel is across a park from the station.

Review 129:The fact that the water from the shower flooded the room every time as there was no screen. Also the touch lighting system beside the bed was difficult to operate at night.

Review 130:The hotel was very comfortable and our room was quite large and nicely decorated in a traditional manner. Sleeping comfort was good as was the breakfast. We had trouble with our WiFi connection and A/Cond but staff member, Harrison, came and fixed everything promptly. Parking was situated beneath the hotel and was very convenient. We would stay here again on our next visit to Trento.
