Reviews for Albergo Cappello

Review 1:Having walked from the station pulling suitcases following Google Maps incorrect directions, we found this charming hotel on the edge of a lively square with a welcoming restaurant in the street and were greeted by the wonderful Simona who looked after our cases until the room was ready and we had a very nice lunch. Then it got better.

Review 2:Hard to find any faults, but we suppose the shower could have worked a little better, and a few extra pillow would have been nice.

Review 3:The location is perfect - a short walk from the beautiful Piazza del Popolo and most of the World Heritage mosaic sites. Incredibly beautiful renovation of a historic building, furnished with much style and sensitivity. Love the cozy bar, the wonderful sommelier Andrea - who chose fabulous and reasonable wines for us - and the lovely small restaurant with its terrific local cuisine. The staff are friendly and so helpful - they even took care of parking our car, which was much appreciated. Glad we stayed three days!

Review 4:Friday and Saturday nights a near by bar can have very loud live Music until late at night. It was loud in our Suite, which faced the street, even with the Windows and shutters closed.

Review 5:The Young receptionist was very helpful and friendly. She also made very good coffee for breakfast. The air conditionning in the room worked very well.

Review 6:Nothing.

Review 7:A truly wonderful hotel in all aspects: comfortable room, full of character and history, delicious breakfast, delightful staff, ideal location, excellent restaurant....

Review 8:Nearest long term public parking was some way from hotel

Review 9:Located in centre of Ravenna, close to all sights Good restaurant at hotel spilling onto street

Review 10:The staff were exceptionally kind and thoughtful. The restaurant in the hotel was also excellent - we had a light lunch, simple with good quality ingredients, and even ate there in the evening - very good fresh products, well cooked. Excellent location. The decor has its own style which may not be everyone's taste but it adds to the personality of the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay.

Review 11:Breakfast was a huge selection of sweat things but very little salty choice and virtually no vegetables.

Review 12:Excellent location, very friendly staff and a superb old building!

Review 13:There is an elevator but some small stairs crop up in unexpected places as a reminder of the building past.

Review 14:In a nicely refurbished old building the hotel is superbly located both for visiting the city and surrounded by restaurants. It is in the middle of a "no drive" zone but the hotel once contacted will arrange for a permit to drive right to the entrance. There is no parking but two different solutions are offered.

Review 15:The signs on the road on we're goid - but went past the hotel - perhaps a sign on the market building or one overhanging the sidewalk to see as one approaches

Review 16:Restaurant was fabulous - great service from Linda - nice dining in garden outside - perfect central location

Review 17:A little further from the station (.7 km) than I thought. No views from room other than an old contention hall.

Review 18:In the city center on a street lined with shops. The room was huge as were the public rooms. Decent restaurant on site.

Review 19:Ravenna is a beautiful small city with the most amazing ancient mosaics, and the Albergo Cappello is a terrific place to stay while you are visiting. This is a gorgeous old palazzo and our high-ceilinged room was so grand that we felt as if we were royalty. We ate dinner at the hotel bar/restaurant, which was simple but excellent. We were walking distance to most of the important attractions. And the staff was very helpful throughout: When we arrived we emptied our car, then a staffer brought it to the parking garage and returned with our receipt. While it cost 13 Euro to keep it overnight, parking was very limited in town and the staffer retried our car from the garage before we were ready to go.

Review 20:What's not to like?

Review 21:The perfect little palazzo, in that inimitable Italian style: high ceilings, huge chandeliers, frescoes and decorated beams in our large room. This family-run hotel is cosy and welcoming, with a wonderful restaurant for outdoor dining - even in early September - bliss after a busy day of exploring on foot and by bicycle (provided for free by the town). The location is unbeatable, in the pedestrianised centre, two minutes from the main piazza.

Review 22:The service and the cheerfulness of the staff was very welcoming. We felt our every need was considered and felt very cared for. The restaurant was also fantastic!

Review 23:My room had no wifi access. I was locked out of the hotel when i stepped out early morning (6:00 am) for a coffee. There was nobody at the front office and my keys would not allow me access. I had to stay out on the street for almost 50 minutes with neighbours and passerby's trying to help me. I was allowed in when the front office staff came at 7:00 am.

Review 24:Excellent location and comfortable room.

Review 25:The location is great, right in the middle of town. Rooms have character. Staff friendly and helpful.

Review 26:Location, room size, cleanliness

Review 35:Bed too hard

Review 36:Room size, bathroom Close to everything, able to walk everywhere. Staff very friendly n helpful. Definitely recommend Albergo Cappello

Review 37:Noisy room; thin walls and noise from back street. Shower needed a good clean as mouldy.

Review 40:The bed was super comfortable - excellent location!

Review 41:I went to Ravenna only to stay in the Allbergo Capello. It is my favorite hotel in Italy.

Review 42:Service food options

Review 43:Location

Review 44:the ro0m was a bit warm - we were able to cool by opening the window.

Review 45:brilliant location within walking distance of all the main monuments. Charming small hotel - helpful staff - easy parking nearby ( first go to the hotel and they give directions)

Review 46:The typical European breakfast was fine, they even provided scrambledeggs, except the eggs were always cold and thus unappearling.

Review 47:We left our car in the nearby parking garage and spent two wonderfuldays exploring Ravenna on foot, made so easy by the hotel'swonderful location. The room was moderate size but had a verycomfortable bed, and the staff was very helpful in suggesting places toeat and how to get around the city.

Review 48:Albergo Cappello is ideally located in the beautiful town of Ravenna - right in the centre but still an easy walk to the station and all sights. the rooms are amazing! Large, comfortable and so comfortable. the staff were freindlyvand helpful. Will definately stay again!

Review 49:My very short stay there.

Review 50:Excellent hotel right in the center of fantastic Ravenna. All the sights are within easy walking distance. The hotel itself has everything you need - quietness, comfort, caring personnel, and also great restaurant, which is considered one of the best in the town. Big, spacious room (they provided me with even bigger one than I booked) - in fact, a bedroom and a sitting room. And the interiors of the hotel which is located in an ancient palace is worth a look. And the staff - they are all so nice, welcoming, warm-hearted.

Review 51:No complaints.

Review 52:A charming small hotel located in the historic center of Ravenna withineasy walking distance of all the major sites. Friendly professionalstaff who are eager to assist with guests' needs. Excellentfacilities including the restaurant and bar.

Review 53:Access by car slightly limited. Service at restaurant, whilst very friendly and helpful was slow at times.

Review 54:Right in heart of old Ravenna in mostly pedestrian precinct area. Fabulous place to wander around. Beautiful rooms elegantly furnished and extremely friendly staff. Very good hotel restaurant with excellent wines.

Review 55:The tv in the room was not working.

Review 56:This is an excellent hotel and very good value for money. The room wasfine, the breakfast was excellent and the staff couldn't have beenmore helpful.

Review 57:We loved everything about this place, so nothing to add here.

Review 58:This is a wonderful hotel in a really convenient location. The staff are lovely, our room was spacious, comfortable and chic and the bar and restaurant are also very good. Highly recommended. They also managed to serve scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast which was highly appreciated by us Brits.

Review 59:Everything! I would say that it was a lux boutique hotel. And don't worry about parking. Garage is near by and we could live our luggage although it was a pedestrian zone.

Review 60:We had a room in the modern part of the hotel not as we saw in thepicture in booking.com. It's was extremely hot in Ravenna and humidand the air conditioning was very poor and there was no fan and as aresult we hardly slept at all.

Review 61:Situated well for all the sites of Ravenna. Very near Basilica StVitale. Main building old and interesting

Review 62:Wonderful historic house with beautiful rooms (junior-suites).Very warm and welcoming staff, who went out of their way to assist with different services.Excellent breakfast!

Review 63:Can't think of anything!

Review 64:We loved this hotel - not just the comfort and charm of the rooms and common areas but the staff were superb - especially Monica at reception. She was consistently charming and helpful - a very special person!

Review 65:Nothing

Review 66:Superb location in the pedestrianised part of the old town. Gracious and roomy. Full of original features, ie, panelled and painted ceilings, numerous beautiful chandeliers, art work and reference books.

Review 67:There was nothing about this hotel I didn't like, I would have happily stayed longer!

Review 68:What did I like? Everything! This hotel is the best I've ever stayed in and it is excellent in every respect, a "Perfect 10". I stayed in the Green and Gold Suite which is quite beautiful, with exquisite fabric on the bedroom wall. There is a very comfortable seating area and the bathroom is well-designed, spacious and spotlessly clean. The reception team is excellent, friendly and they all speak beautiful English. Ravenna is an amazing city too, I'll certainly be back!

Review 69:Authentic Italian palazzo with amazing Murano glass chandeliers, frescoed ceilings, spacious rooms, and elegant bathrooms/amentities.Excellent location historic center. Very helpful front desk staff.

Review 70:What an incredible find. We were bowled over by this jewel of a hotel. Our suite was incredible, the staff could not be more helpful. The restaurant and bar were 'the' place to be in Ravenna, nothing was too much trouble. I could not recommend this hotel enough it is certainly worth far more than the rate we paid.

Review 71:Not really "a didn't like" BUT - if you like a cup of coffee in your room take your own ( plus milk) as they only provide tea in several varieties. If you cannot take it then buy it from the supermarket in Vis Roma.

Review 72:The ambience, quietness, friendly staff, locality, breakfast, room facilities, free wi-fi. Due to technical problems their new Sky installation was not working for any part of my stay. I was able to negotiate a reduction in my bill to offset this.

Review 73:Internet availability was not possible during our stay.

Review 74:The Albergo Cappello is very well located, being near the centre of Ravenna. Meals available through the hotel's restaurant were very good.

Review 75:We had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. The desk clerk, Max, was super helpful. He spoke excellent English as well as his native Italian and he slid into the French language too. He is a real asset to the hotel! The hotel has old world European style and was very nice and very clean. We would certainly stay there again.

Review 76:Minor criticism- the hot food at breakfast was in fact cold- they don't use anything to keep the food hot.

Review 77:The interiors were outstanding. Beautiful antique furniture, lighting fixtures, carpets, fresh flowers and art books on tables for guests to read. The room was large and spacious. Dinner in the dining room was good and breakfast buffet ok. The staff were helpful and the location excellent, right in the heart of the city, walking ditance to everything.

Review 78:Leaving

Review 79:This is a thoughtful restoration of a Venetian 16th century merchant house; high coffered ceilings and vast spaces of the public rooms make this more of a beautiful private house than a hotel. This, and all the modern facilities one might wish for in bedrooms, bars and dining.

Review 80:Car park was a walk but we found a cheap one for 3 euro per day so notbad Wifi didn't work in room

Review 81:Very good welcome. Great location. Very clean. Good breakfast, friendlystaff. Free wifi and bikes to use. Excellent stay. Quiet room on theside overlooking an alleyway. When buying drinks in evening at the barfree tapas came with them, a nice touch

Review 82:Music in the bar was so loud that you could hear it on the street so we avoided going in.

Review 83:Beautiful hotel and the junior suite we had was spacious and comfortable. Hotel provided many amenities including bathrobes and slippers. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Review 84:It was such a thrill to stay in this historic building, with original features and so tastefully furnished. The luxury of the suite was quite unexpected and at such a reasonable price through booking.com Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Review 85:Room smaller than expected, minibar fridge already packed with bottles and no place to move them, warm temperature in room hard to regulate. Corridor for our room not well-lit.

Review 86:Comfortable room, bathrobes provided, good location for central attractions. Beautiful old building with helpful staff..

Review 87:The light bulb was broken in our bathroom and despite telling staff on arrival it was never replaced during our stay.

Review 88:The lovely furnishings and decor. The excellent restaurant with very pleasant waiters. Kettle in our bedroom.

Review 91:A really excellent hotel - very good room, extremely helpful staff and an excellent restaurant - in a beautiful city, of course, with many historic buildings and monuments

Review 92:We could hear the music from the bar of the Albergo downstairs in ourroom, we had to ask to lower the music to sleep. Internet did not work.
