Reviews for Hotel Canali
Review 1:The location was a bit too far on feet but if you take a bus or come with your own car this hotel is PERFECT!!!
Review 2:the staffs were excellent!!! Since we had to leave so early at 6.00am in the morning and the breakfast buffet was not open yet, they kindly offer coffee and some croissants for free!!
Review 3:Although it is four-star hotel rooms are relatively simply furnished (but clean).
Review 4:Very friendly staff, good location 10 minutes walk to the city centre.
Review 5:I wish the hot tub was working or hot!
Review 6:Amazing, super friendly, extremely helpful and sweet reception lady made my day. She was what made the hotel something to rave about. ;)
Review 7:free car parking, although lucky to have find a space, imagine impossible peak season. Helpful multi lingual staff. Wi-fi inclusive & adequate.
Review 8:The hotel is 1km, maybe less, from the train station. We requested a taxi at 7am. When we came down to check out, they told us 'the taxi driver' had taken someone else and would be back shortly. We asked them to ring another taxi as we could see it still outside loading another person (in a large van) still and it was now after 7 - but they did not. The taxi returned ten minutes later and drove the two of us and our small bags to the station (thankfully our train was delayed) in about 1 minute for the price of €12. The driver was clearly a friend of theirs, which is really not okay. We could've easily fit in with the first person, they could've told us the price, they could've called another taxi. I find these things very disrespectful, particularly that being late did not seem to concern them. We also left an item behind and have a photo of it when we left (yes, we took a selfie when we left the room...don't judge me!) but they claim not to have seen it. It's not worth enough to fight over, but we weren't too pleased about it. To be clear, overall, this is a lovely place with lovely staff. The last part just bothers me a lot as it soured the end of the visit.
Review 9:Just about everything and the staff are lovely. I would've said perfect but two major dislikes happened a the end of our visit. I'd still recommend it, though.
Review 10:The location was far but it's only 10 minutes walk to Rapallo beach!
Review 11:The hotel is nice and comfortable. The stuff was very helpful & friendly. The style is cool like our granny's old homes! The breakfast was so good!
Review 12:Being under the stairs and sitting area there was a bit of noise during daylight hours but generally at night it was quiet.
Review 13:Jnr suite was quite large. Good breakfast. Parking was adequate, although I'm glad they moved my car into the street for me. Staff were lovely and helpful. Hotel wasn't too far from town. It was pretty quiet when we were there as far as street noise.
Review 14:view on sea only from the balcony. Walter pipe in the Bathroom very noisy (from other rooms !). Wifi didn't work in the evening.
Review 15:Clean hôtel located near the arbor.
Review 16:It was difficult to fault.
Review 17:A gracious art deco hotel. Beautiful view from a lovely dual aspect bedroom. Wonderful breakfast. Very clean. Helpful staff.
Review 18:Great hotel, this was our second visit and we would stay again. Friendly staff and good breakfast. Within easy walking distance to the centre of Rapallo.
Review 19:Parking insufficient. The hotel expects you to leave your keys at reception and they'll shuffle around cars. Noise insulation could be better. You better pray for quiet neighbours.
Review 20:Nice surroundings, walking distance from city centre and coast, good breakfast.
Review 21:The hotel is super cute! Rapallo is close to Margerita and 30 min drive to Portofino. It's a great way to stay close by without spending a fortune. I really liked the area and regret I didn;'t stay here for longer. What a pleasant surprise!
Review 22:Had to leave keys for car as Car park is small, the open areas of the hotel could have been cleaner (i.e. stairwell.) Hotel could possibly do with some modernisation. Bed wasn't to my comfort.
Review 23:Staff where really friendly and informative. Breakfast was ok, short walk into Rapallo town.
Review 24:Walls between the rooms were quite thin, still some road noise quite late at night.
Review 25:Excellent staff team including Sonia and Antonio who put up with our poor Italian vocabulary. Good location away from the main bustle of the seafront. Pleasant gardens for sitting in.
Review 26:10-15 minute walk from centre, up a steep hill. Small, poor quality shower ,'tired 'furniture.
Review 27:Beautiful building in a quiet location. Some modest investment would change this from a good hotel to a great hotel.
Review 28:The outdoor green carpeting cheapened the hotel.
Review 29:This hotel is a very convenient location to village center. The staff were very helpful and courteous.
Review 30:car park is an experience!
Review 31:very old fashioned hotel, but do not change the format. spotless and a little out the way but very good and reasonable location for the abled.
Review 32:Our room with a balcony was comfortable and large. Terrace and sitting rooms are comfortably furnished and delightfully quiet. Staff were efficient and welcoming.
Review 33:Parking is "tight" but is to be expected in a crowded Italian town!
Review 34:The terrace for drinks and then breakfast is very comfortable and classy.
Review 35:The Hotel Canali canali is located 10 to 15 minutes away on foot from the city centre, uphill (so, good view!) and a very rich breakfast. The staff is very helpful and know well the area - So can give you excellent advice!
Review 36:Superior room not up to standards (old furniture, dusty) Bathroom with a bath but no shower (drain upper room leading through the bathroom - really noisy) Small hole in one of the upper windows Parking facility really small
Review 37:Staff is nice and helpful Good breakfast Good base for daytrips in Liguria
Review 38:The hotel charged us like a 4 star hotel but facilities and services, including location, are very bad. Everything seems to be half-way designed: unstable WiFi, simple breakfast, poor hot water
Review 39:Quite location
Review 40:Our room was small but as a last minute booking I was happy to accept that. I wasn't willing to accept that it was filthy with a musty smell that wasn't pleasant. The toilet wouldn't flush and when this was pointed out to staff they said the man would be in at 6 to look at it. He never came and we had no further contact. There were no tea facilities in the room and view was like looking out onto a council estate. Parking is sparse and you need to leave your keys with the reception so that they can juggle the cars around. This isn't comforting when you have a hire car and the tram them in like sardines!! Also you need to be aware that you will be charged extra for items at breakfast. 5euros for bacon, 3 euros for soft boiled egg etc!! All in all I wouldn't recommend this as a 4star. It was a 2 at the very least!!
Review 41:There isn't really a lot that I can say good about this hotel. The staff were moderately polite.
Review 42:- Shower was not hot enough (I had the handle all the way to hot, but it was still cold and the pressure was very low) - The lock of the room was very basic, and the door handle did not work. Did not feel to secure.
Review 43:- Very good and fast wifi - Friendly and very nice staff. They really go all the way to help you. - Location a bit of outside of the city centre, but still within walking distance. Great to enjoy the place with family and kids, and have a quiet times in the evening.
Review 44:You must left your car keys at the reception. the bathroom was very small and there was no room (or shelves) to put our personnal belongings. Saturday morning at breakfast, we heard the same (bad) cover song again and again for one hour (ain't no sunshine). There is nothing left to eat if you arrive after 9:00 Soja milk is available at breakfast but unfortunately one of the waiter doesn't speak or understand english..
Review 45:There is a private and free car park but it's very small. We came in the low season, I don't know if there is room enough in the high summer season. Soja milk is available at breakfast..
Review 46:Although location was good for us may not be be best for walking fromtrain station with luggage. Take a taxi.
Review 47:The decor was very nice. Felt like staying at a villa. Public areas werecomfortable and inviting. Excellent breakfast with good selection.Morning cappuccino was well done. The staff especially Antonella at thedesk and Antonio in the breakfast room were helpful and courteous. Wewill return if ever in Rapallo again.
Review 48:Parking! Getting into the hotel in my wheelchair was difficult because of the disabled parking space being occupied by a 'non-disabled' guest and a motor cycle!
Review 49:Lovely breakfast and terrace.
Review 50:Old and because of that no good comfort. The owners should I invest in their interior instead of taking the money. On this location this hotel can be top 5 star if they gave it a big makeover...A really big makeover. Breakfast not special at all, very basic. You pay a lot because of the location but the hotel is not worth it.
Review 51:Location close to centre Rapallo nice belle epoque look from the outside
Review 52:I had been so impressed by this lovely boutique hotel. Single room on the small side as was the shower! I would opt for a double room for single occupancy; not a major complaint .The staff were so pleasant and helpful in every way. Within walking distance to main town, station and to some very good restaurants. Hope to have the opportunity soon to revisit. Thanks for every thing.
Review 53:Wifi is only available at the lobby. Rooms are rather old fashioned.
Review 54:Stayed for just two nights with little kids. The hotel resembles the 1920s design, which is OK from the outside, but a little bit disappointing inside the rooms. Everythink looks fab from the outside, even the enterior is ok, but the rooms are a little bit run down. Private parking is available, but it is a challenge (well, you are in Italy). The breakfast is awesome. City enter is a 15 min walk. They have a jacuzzi.
Review 55:This is not a four star hotel. The decor is dated and the carpet needs replacing. They had one staff member serving at reception with three groups trying to check in as well as others waiting to pick up and drop off keys. We had a non-smoking room booked but were put in a smokers room. The rooms are dark.
Review 56:The room and bathroom a good size. 10 mins walk to the town centre.
Review 57:The room was rather primitive for our taste. No mattress or pillow protectors which is standard in most hotels we have visited. No kettle, fridge did not work, we were unable to keep our bottled water chilled. The location was far away from the centre which required a driver or a cab to go into town.
Review 58:Liked the staff and the breakfast
Review 59:Carpet In hallways horrible and musty smelling. Breakfast was ordinary and not really 4 star. Staff pretty disinterested and no where near as good as another hotel we stayed at in Rapallo. Quite far from main centre of Rapallo. Overpriced for location and quality. Not to mention noisy construction across the road.
Review 60:On site parking. Wooden floors in room. Bathroom was large and modern.
Review 61:Air con was not working. Noisy location-builders yard opposite and scooters buzzing up street at all hours.
Review 62:Good staff and room maintainence. Easy walk to town centre and sea front.
Review 63:The hotel was within walking distance to the centre of town and it had parking at no extra cost.
Review 64:Very good breakfast. Nice garden.
Review 65:The shower was a trickle and the hot water did not work properly. It took over 30mins to take a shower.
Review 66:Staff were both efficient and friendly all speaking excellent English. The elegant terrace was a very pleasant place to relax with a drink.
Review 67:Nice location & building, great staff. Enough parking, OK breakfast. Wifi worked fine.
Review 68:It was convenient walking distance to many places, so good location and pretty gardens.
Review 69:nothing
Review 70:staf
Review 71:- big breakfast buffet - comfortable bed - nice staff - 5 minute walk to the ocean - very quiet
Review 72:Very small shower
Review 73:Parking for car
Review 74:No bar! Couldn't get a cocktail!
Review 75:Attractive hotel with good terrace, gym and Turkish bath.
Review 76:Every thing was good
Review 77:Do not pay extra. The hotel is not on the ocean you just see a lit bit of the ocean far away
Review 78:Noisy location
Review 79:Friendly staff
Review 80:Breakfast and staff were positives
Review 81:Sorry that the hot tub was not working!b
Review 82:Uphill on the way back from town!!
Review 83:Lovely location in nice garden. Walk through park to sea. Friendly staff. Good room with double aspect.
Review 84:very small shower cubicle no restaurant
Review 85:hotel style friendly staff good breakfast very clean nice terrace nice views good price/value ratio
Review 86:No hot water first thing in the morning.
Review 87:Very helpful staff. Printed out train schedules for us.
Review 88:Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Good value for money in an expensive town
Review 89:Did not serve lunch or dinner Not suitable for disabled persons
Review 90:Not a lot
Review 91:Bit noisy on roadside if windows left open at night.
Review 92:Good size room with views.very helpful staff.many areas to relax.parking on site.good breakfast.
Review 93:Nice and helpsom staff.
Review 94:Shower very small Too far from centre of town - steep hill
Review 95:Attractive hotel with nice sitting rooms and terraces
Review 96:The mattress could have been a little better as it was pretty hard.
Review 97:Loved the charm of the place and the room we had was wonderful with two balconies! We enjoyed the walk down into town and back by the park. Staff were very nice and accommodating.
Review 98:Would have liked a shower instead of the hand held one over the bath, but managed ok not a big deal.
Review 99:We found the location was great. We had no transport but the train station was handy so were able to take off for the day. Lots of restaurants to choose from. Had fun going up in the cable car and going for the hike through the woods where it was nice to get away from the crowds for a change. Lovely church up there and a nice place to have lunch. Wonderful views of the coast line. our room was very nice the best we had had. Plenty of room with a nice little balcony where we had a sea view. Delicious breakfasts with great choice. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Review 100:Beware of buying food and drink if you visit Portofino. We were charged 9 euros for a small bottle of beer!! (4 euros for a pint in Rapallo)
Review 101:Great place to stay, with a 10-15 minute walk into town. We had a balcony with a view of the sea. The staff were very helpful and polite. We absolutely loved Rapallo and will visit again.
Review 102:Probably not so convenient without a car.
Review 103:We were upgraded to a junior suite when we arrived, a very stylishlydecorated, large room with the best bathroom we have encountered sofar in Italy. Friendly and very helpful staff. They directed us to arestaurant up in the hills above town (Le Due Querce) with greatfood and an even better view along the coast. They also told usabout Comiglia and Santa Marguerita, two towns on the coast thatwere more genuine than the movie-set beautiful, but crowdedPortofino. Parking on site.
Review 104:The location was okay.
Review 105:The staff was very helpful. The style of the hotel was great and more traditional which we like. Our room was massive and very comfortable. The breakfast was amazing.
Review 106:Rapallo rail station and bus services are not close, especially if youhave to carry your luggage. Also a little overpriced.
Review 107:This is a nice warm hotel. Staff were firendly and provided us withinformation to go around. Breakfast was good.
Review 108:Parking could be a bit difficult
Review 109:Great location on the Italian Riviera. 5m walk to the city centre. Very helpful staff. Services up to the 4star label.
Review 110:Lack of swimming pool (although a hot tub available).
Review 111:Friendly and helpful staff. Very informative. Excellent location for beach and town. Spacious, clean room. Small and friendly. Not at all crowded. Good breakfast.
Review 112:Very good location, in walking distance to the town center and beaches, but away from the noisier area. Very comfortable and spacious family room. Friendly staff.
Review 113:A pool would've been nice because it was very hot and the beaches in Liguria are not amazing.
Review 114:Very friendly staff. Staff knows a lot about the area and helps you out with planning trips. Help with parking. Very quiet zone outside the centre but only a few minutes away from it.
Review 115:Very charming and relaxing enviroment with a large veranda and garden. The staff is very service minded and contributes highly to a nice staying. Excellent breakfast.
Review 116:Bed broken and too short Not sound proofed, easy to hear guests in the hallway/outside More like a 2.5 - 3 star hotel, NOT 4! Poor food service. Were informed that breakfast was to close at 11, at 10:20 the buffé was already removed..
Review 117:Location - 15 min walk to city Nice staff
Review 118:The parking is very limited so if you are travelling by car be aware that you must leave your keys at reception to allow staff to 'shuffle' the cars!
Review 119:The hotel was very nice and the staff very friendly.
Review 120:Rapallo itself! We didn't like the cabins along the sea side, blocking the view and entrance to shore.
Review 121:Good location, easy to find. Very helpful front desk. We were disappointed when we learned our room was at -1 floor but all gone when we saw the room. Big and never felt that we were under reception floor. Very good breakfast.
Review 122:Staff were very welcoming and gave us lots of helpful information about the area, trips available and places to see and eat. Room was excellent, double with balcony and sea view. Very comfortable and great location. Breakfast was excellent, lots to chose from.
Review 123:Nothing.
Review 124:Everything.Nothing was a problem for the staff. Great quiet location , 10 minute walk from town centre. Hotel in old world charm\character in very good condition. Car parking
Review 125:Excellent service excellent location pleasant reception girls beautifuland explain celebrating birthdays and we are champagne and treats into acake and a candle at breakfast hotel great location thanks Nipple lifeof booking Naomi helped
Review 126:Rooms rather dated. Small bathroom. Hotel was established in 1929. A lot of things do remind of 'the old days'. We would donwgrade this hotel to a 3 stars. Especially when having stayed in a hotel of the Best Western group before this one. Service by personneel is ok. Willing to go for the extra mile. We requested early breakfast at the day of departure and all was arranged quite quickly. Rapallo wasnot that interesting. They call it the 'pearl of the ligurian sea' but we can think of other places nearby the ligurian sea that are more interesting really and better sand beaches.
Review 127:Breakfast and personnel (willing to go for the extra mile). Walk from Monterosso to Vernazza. Make sure to have some good shoes because the walk is quite interesting sometimes. Stunning views.
