Reviews for Parc Hotel Alvisse

Review 1:smells bad when we first enter the room. some stains on the wall, very disgusting.

Review 2:should be good in summer time when you have opportunity to cycle around.

Review 3:Internet in the room didn't work unless I was right next to the door. The indoor pool was nice, but there were only 10 spots to lay down, for a hotel with 100's of rooms, this seemed a bit strange.

Review 4:We were looking for a relaxing hotel, away from the center, and this was perfect for that. Free parking, nice and helpful staff that spoke english very well.

Review 5:No drinking facilities in the wellness center or in room, where a kettle with coffee and tea would be a welcome addition.

Review 6:Decent room, great bathroom. We enjoyed the wellness center the most, as it was spotless, modern, and spacious.

Review 7:Exceptionally clean, very helpful and friendly staff. Fantastic value for money, spacious rooms with powerful showers. Excellent facilities, spa, pool, we even hired our own bowling alley for 10 euro. Great location, close enough to airport to save on taxi fees, but bus right into city centre for 4 euros a day. Good variety for buffet breakfast, not over crowed. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but enjoyed wine and cocktails from the bar, they were lovely. Luxembourg city is magical for the Christmas markets, but would make a great mini vreak for anyone seaking a oess touristy break, with 3 other European countries less thsn hour hour awsy by train, thus is a great base. Hughly recommended and enjoyed. Thank you Alvisse for a wonderful weekend!

Review 8:Took 1.5h for room service to prepare a salad and a glass of water (which they dropped also, soaking half of the meal). No apology, staff barely spoke english.

Review 9:very nice pool, decent bed/room

Review 10:Staff a bit grumpy and could smile more Shower design a bit strange - you end up with quite some water on the fllor. Pity as the bathroom is otherwise quite nice.

Review 11:Nice WIFI Large free parking Possibility to swim until quite late

Review 12:Breakfast was not set up, but guests had to sort themselves out. The room was average good, but not four stars. There is slight problem, if you use public transports to get to the hotel, due to it being slightly outside the city area, but for taxi customers it does not matter.

Review 13:Very nice swimming pool and sauna, probably the only one in Luxembourg with these nice facilities. Very nice and elegant restaurant.

Review 14:We hang the "do not disturb" sign on the door, but the cleaners still did enter while we were outside the room.

Review 15:The breakfast and restaurant was amazing. we really enjoyed the swimming pool!

Review 16:Had a smoking room. No tea & coffee making facilities in the room.

Review 17:Traveled by car so plenty & free parking was good. About 5km from Lux city centre (but take account of traffic at rush hour).

Review 18:Very good quality in everything, wellness open - long hours, even bathrobe and extra towels provided in rooms. Quiet despite of many celebrations/parties downstairs

Review 19:Electrical appliances not really holding ! Soft, soft mattress... Room too hot and no AC Parking unavailable due to party event hosted by hotel

Review 20:Location, large rooms, nice shower, facilities

Review 21:Only downside is the bed. Why not just a proper double bed instead of 2 singles that get separated during the night.

Review 22:I like the location and the rooms and like the staff and have been here plenty of times. Had booked including dinner this time. Value for money!

Review 23:Strictly not recommended for any trips: the hotel is a very badrenovated, not honest reception management (we have received triple(extra) charges on the credit card). This hotel looks like a hospice forhomeless's people, but for huge money..

Review 24:we checked in a bit late night (10pm), we went in to the room and found out that the room had not been properly cleaned. We complained to the reception and luckily we got a new room with better facility. Thanks for that

Review 25:breakfast, swimming pool, gym and location. It's not too far from the city center. Good bus connection with bus stop just in front of the hotel. Friendly and helpful staffs. Big outdoor parking lots. Location is close to the nature, perfect way to start your biking tour towards city center.

Review 26:WiFi reception only near the room door, bed was too soft for our liking

Review 27:Excellent staff, friendly and knowledgeable, enjoyed the pool, sauna and steamroom

Review 28:the quiet room we had wasn't quiet at all if you open the window, there was a particular smell in the bathroom There was any controll for the breakfast so in fact anybody can come in and have breakfast

Review 29:price room with breakfast included and parking for free - spa facilities

Review 30:Doors to room - no door closer. Slamming doors, very poor noise insulation. Kept awake till gone 1am by screaming child and drunk people coming in. doors to corridor from room offer no noise insulation at all. Bathroom smelt like it had been cleaned with an old musty cloth/vinegar. (NB: to be fair on hotel - had we have raised I am sure they would have resolved this but only there 1 night). Restaurant offered little for lower budget leading us to eat elsewhere and bring food back to hotel room. ?offer something else for those on lower budget? Bed very spongey - perhaps a bit too soft for some. Gym a let down - plenty of space available but wasted, rowing machine slides around on floor, running machine would not start, cross trainer knocked etc. Room for better/more equipment.

Review 31:Location - bus stop outside. Lots of parking. Nice pool if not a little cold. Nice Sauna. Didn't realise dressing gown and towels in cupboard till after use of sauna/pool - leave on bed? Nice room overall. Spacious bathroom. Nice bar area. Most staff friendly although room for a warmer/smiling welcome when checking in.

Review 32:- Wifi signal was ok but not stable during the time I stay at the hotel. Sometimes it took a long time just to check my mailbox.

Review 33:- Friendly staff and very nice room. - Breakfast was excellent. - You can take a bus to go to the city center easily. There is a bus station right in front of the hotel. There are 3 bus lines so the location of the hotel was not a problem.

Review 34:A very nice hotel with great facilities. We only stayed one night as part of a road trip through Europe but we were impressed, both with the hotel and Luxembourg City as a destination. We had the extensive buffet breakfast and managed to squeeze in enough time to use the spa/pool (all very nice indeed). The bar actually had a little life too, unlike many British hotels! It's a bit of a walk to the City centre but worth it if you have the time and the weather's good. Alternatively there's a bus stop right outside. Overall, highly recommended and we'd certainly return.

Review 35:Even if the bathroom is nice equipped, there is a poor design as the water from the shower floods the room. There was a large spot on the carpet telling you that you need to be careful when taking a shower. Some of the guest needed politeness lessons since they were coming directly from the pool or shower dressed in bathrobe and putting their swimming underwear on their table in front of the other guests (I'm not joking!!!) while all of them having their breakfast! Come on... Some of the other guests was there in business trips, dressed in the suit and wearing a tie. It is needed a fair dressing code since the hotel is not on the beach. Be aware of the bus timetable you get from the reception. The buses are not coming very frequently.

Review 36:Very nice environment with a "lot of green", few minutes to city center by bus. Large and comfortable rooms with large and modern bathroom. Good wifi connection in all areas. The hotel has 3 parking areas but when is fully booked all are very crowded with no free slots. For the swimmers there are 2 pools: one inside and one outside. Also you can choose to play tennis on one of the back courts.

Review 37:Having driven 6 hours and arriving at 4pm, the hotel had no catering facilities or room service and could not provide food until 7pm. At dinner my soup was cold and whilst I asked for no onions with my salad, they didn't bring any salad at all. The music in the lounge bar was very loud at times. Breakfast was non appetising.

Review 38:Lovely clean room with very comfy bed and clean modern bathroom. Plenty of storage.

Review 39:Air conditioning was needed. it was so u comfortable hot I felt like sleeping in the foyer Also had to park in car park C as there was a wedding on. Not convenient when you have luggage.

Review 40:The pool was great. The rooms were nice but far too hot.

Review 41:Breakfast. It's ridiculous how many croissants people take.. When your too late, they are gone. Also, breakfast is till 10:00, but 9:45 they take everything away.

Review 42:The swimmingpools and bedcomfort

Review 43:The room was freezing cold with the air con stuck to on- when I told the hotel, they gave me an extra blanket! When I tried to speak to staff about it, they weren't bothered. They then promised me a free night's stay after I tried to raise this with the manager (she wasn't interested unfortunately) but then they failed to honour this promise.

Review 44:The entrance was big and clean

Review 45:They allow dogs and we had one next to our room that was barking - not nice. They could also have more sun chairs available.

Review 46:Very nice hotel, near to city center (10 minutes by car), free parking, very good facilities (indoor and out door swimming pool), excellent food (outstanding). We had great weekend there.

Review 47:We couldn't sleep at night because there was a loud intermittent noise from the room below us, like a huge fridge working. We asked for a room change and after they had told us we had to wait until 2 pm for the rooms to get cleaned, they never notified us.

Review 48:We really liked the surroundings of the hotel and the breakfast services.

Review 49:The wifi in the hotel has got a lot worse even having a technician to check this he said it was very bad. Also, not being able to eat in the bar area when it was raining on the terrace therefore we could only eat in the restaurant, which we did not want to do. The restaurant menu does need to vary as it has not changed for a long time. Also having a bar menu would be very helpful.

Review 50:Good facilities.

Review 51:Beds were extremely uncomfortable because mattresses were lumpy and pillows super thin. WIFI was not reliable at all. If u depend on WIFI do not stay here.

Review 52:Breakfast was great. Size of rooms good. Housekeeping very nice.

Review 53:Wifi not 100%, petty I know but in this and age communication should be considered a given..

Review 54:Great location, private, secluded but just 5 minutes from downtown.

Review 55:Room service is limited during the afternoon-evening, even though literature in room states room service is available 9AM - 11PM. We had to wait until the hotel restaurant opened at 7PM to order room service. My wife found out that not everything is available on the menu, either. The restaurant advertised Infusion Vanilla tea, but room service claimed it wasn't offered. These might be little things but after a long day of traveling you would expect room service to be available all day.

Review 56:Nice, clean room with a very comfortable bed and accommodating bathroom.Breakfast was great as there were a large variety of foods and drinks offered.

Review 57:We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. Overall we did not have a goodstay unfortunately. The mattresses in our beds were extremely soft. Ihad enquired via booking.com with the hotel prior to our stay whetherthey had firm mattresses which they confirmed (!). However both mypartner and I could hardly sleep due to the soft mattresses. I askedabout this after the first night, and was told all mattresses were thesame. Our television also had a fault, which meant the top half of thescreen was obscured on all channels. I complained about this 3 times.Nothing happened. Furthermore the air conditioning didn't workproperly and we couldn't cool our room down. All of this was notaddressed during our stay, and we have not been offered another room oran apology by any of the staff members I spoke to. This is highlydisappointing for an expensive 4 star hotel. We will definitely notreturn. As I checked out, I reiterated all of the above, and the memberof staff did once again not even apologise let alone make any otherattempt to compensate me for my bad stay. Instead, she had to inform methat by some error on their behalf, I had not fully paid in advance (asconfirmed by booking.com when I booked) and I still owed them eur 100.Overall this was a terrible experience.

Review 58:The hotel is nicely located, amongst a forest. The outlook is quitenice. The parking is great, there are a lot of spaces and they are free. Our room on the 3rd floor was spacious, the bathroom was new and verypractical. We also used the outdoor pool which was nice. None of thismakes up for a bad bed, and a broken tv and air conditioning unitthough, and unfriendly and unhelpful staff.

Review 59:I wrote to the hotel about my preference for a firm bed, due to my previous back injury. They actually took the trouble to place a plank below the mattress to make it firmer. I sincerely appreciate their effort. The room is clean and spacious. Free parking.

Review 60:Gym, WiFi was slow in evenings.

Review 61:Pool is great, sauna, steam room only limited thing is gym no equipment one set of dumbells. Breakfast great as was the room.

Review 62:There was no air conditioning and it was very hot. We had our windows open the whole time we were there, which made for a very noisy night.

Review 63:The pools, breakfast, location and room were all great. It is a really nice place to stay.

Review 64:Frist day breakfast was in the restaurant. This was excellent. The rest of our stay in a convention room. Very noisy, crowdy and not cosy at all. Prices dinner high

Review 65:Great hotel. Nice and clean. Good room. Excellent location with busstop in front of the hotel to the centre. Takes only 10 minuten. Good breakfast.

Review 66:They asked us 25€ to keep our baggages for few hours after checking out. Staff spoke poor English (for a 4-stars hotel should be mandatory). Parking slots not enough for all the clients.

Review 67:Comfy and very spacious rooms. many choices for breakfast. Clean

Review 68:Swimming pool water was rather cold but maybe it is standard in Luxemburg. When didning in the restaurant our order was brought not complete. We had to remind the waiter to bring us rice and salad after the rest of dinner went cold. The staff at the restaurant were very nice so it makes it hard to give out about them. However taking into account the fact that the dinner was rather pricey, the expectation is to receive the whole meal at once and not in 15 mins intervals...

Review 69:Staff were very friendly and nice. Hotel provides facilities to keep busy in case of bad weather (swimming pool, tennis court, bowling, etc)

Review 70:A bit too cold water in the swimming pool. Outside pool was closed due to bad weather, but it must be nice to use it when weather permits. Everyday the same choice of food for breakfast although croissants were fresh and tasty. I would like to see more options, like pancakes. Beds a bit soft, but if I needed to choose between hard-rock bed or too soft one, I would go for the first.

Review 71:Swimming pool and sauna facilities were very nice and clean. We were given a late check out option that was just perfect, so we didn't need to rush out. Very friendly stuff, all from receptionists to bartenders and housekeepers.

Review 72:Kettle or tea/coffee making facilities in room would make it perfect. Bad smell in bathroom throughout our short stay. Observation: Modern style of shower not ideal as the open end causes flooding of floor.

Review 73:Complimentary bathrobes were an excellent touch. Lovely swimming pool.

Review 74:- the shower head had white and black mold - one of the stuff at the reception was unfriendly - weird smell in the room - poor breakfast - view from the room (was facing the ugly terrace)

Review 75:+ in general it was okay + free parking + swimming pools (indoor & outdoor)

Review 76:A "double" bed was just two single beds pushed together, not very comfortable.

Review 77:Very nice hotel, good sized and lovely rooms, great breakfast.

Review 78:The restaurant was not 4 star standard. Shower head was corroded with calcium. No electricity to room could not be fixed that day, necessitating a change of room at 7pm upon returning after a long daysightseeing.

Review 79:Location.

Review 80:staff at restaurant were not paying attention to orders (forgetting, waiting etc) A lot of noise due to construction early morning

Review 81:Good bed good food convenient location

Review 82:They charged the minibar, what I did not used the reception said they will check and get back to me, never happened, asked for separate invoice for me and business partner, after completed all the names and billing address the invoice was issued still on my name, the 400€ deposit hold it's still not released from my card (30 days after check in) even after several emails sent.

Review 83:The stuff started cleaning up after the breakfast too early, when people were still eating (9.30)... We could hear some noises (from the kitchen?) during the night...

Review 84:1/ Wake-up call 10 min. to late ! (10-7-2015)(06.00h !) 2/ ordening drinks at the Bar .... young bartender just forgot me ! 3/ Lamp in room (next TV) never worked ! 4/ "Waiting-line" at the coffee bar / Breakfast !!!

Review 85:One hour we had to wait for food to arrive, and upon complaining we were told something would taken off the bill. But it was not when we went to check out, we had to ask again. This hotel has far too many events (weddings/conferences) and non hotel guests enjoying the pool, which means the staff can't cope with the paying hotel guests it seems.

Review 86:Great rooms, buffet breakfast, close to town by car, spa and pool area

Review 87:Despite what is implied on their website, this is a large functional hotel, suitable for work conferences etc - it's not somewhere to go for a relaxing break. -The outdoor pool is open to the public: on a Saturday in July expect to share it with hundreds of people. There's also nowhere to lie out other than the grass. - The gym was very small and had no air conditioning - Not all bedrooms have air conditioning. - Breakfast (delivered to my room) was a croissant and 2 bread rolls that I suspect were left over from the previous night's dinner. The coffee was undrinkable.

Review 88:- The indoor pool - The food in the restaurant at dinner was surprisingly good - International tv channels in room - Power shower

Review 89:The outdoor pool is open to public for a 6eur fee and is so overcrowded not letting space for the hotel guests to use the pool. The parking lot is not sufficient when there is a sunny day and people come for the outdoor pool. The rooms doesn't have air conditioning!! It is extremely hot in the summer days. Many people in the breakfast and food sometimes not well cooked.

Review 90:Location - 3km from city center.

Review 91:The outside pool was very crowded as it's open to the public. The inside pool was empty so we mostly swam there.

Review 92:Loved the pool and the breakfast. Room very comfortable; stayed cool although it was very hot outside. Happy to have a mini-fridge. Nice location; close to city.

Review 93:The room they first gave me was full of cigaret smoke. I refused it and got a change. Shower fixed on the ceiling, hard to take a shower without wetting your hair. Glass shield too small: the whole bathroom gets wet when showering.

Review 94:free parking, lots of space. Personnel very friendly and ready to help.

Review 95:Not many breakfast options for gluten-free, internet a bit slow and quirky, pool closes way to early to be usable by guests on short visits

Review 96:Excellent condition, well decorated

Review 97:A bottle of water in the room and extra towels in spa would make our stay brilliant :)

Review 98:Swimming pool and spa zone are excellent. Great deal of choice for the breakfast. Nice friendly staff. We were allowed to check-out 1 hour later.

Review 99:The restaurant, terrace and breakfast were good. The comfort room was ok but the bed was too soft (85kg), 2 single beds put together and caused rolling into the middle constantly. The gym was a joke, 6 machines of which 4 out of order, unacceptable. The outdoor pool was closed while it was 24degrees. Indoor pool and saunas are nice though. Check out took me forever, 2 pax at reception were so slow... Staff from restaurant and bar were amazing

Review 100:Smoking outside our room filtered into our room. Gasp!!! Can't breathe. Should have moved to the end of the hallway where smoke wouldn't be trapped between 2 buildings.

Review 101:We asked for a quiet room with no smoking. Quiet until doors started slamming.

Review 102:No kettle for boiling water in the room. The beds were too soft. When we checked in on 12th June afternoon, the one staff at the reception, not wearing a name tag, was unfriendly. Not only I thought he was rude, my husband noticed the staff had an attitude towards me. And he gave us only 1 key card instead of 2, which we later found out it was standard to receive 2 key cards. It was inconvenient if a guest stays in the room and the second person wants to enter the swimming area, door only to be opened via a key card. Furthermore, the key card for one of the rooms was not activated, so I have to go down the reception again to get it activated. I later went to the reception to get a second key card. The staff at the reception spoiled our mood.

Review 103:The building looked old outside but the interior looked new and modern. The facilities with sauna, fitness room and swimming pool is great cos' we didnt want to go elsewhere. Prior to arrival the service staffs arranged for us triple bed rooms with two adjoining beds as requested at no extra charge. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.

Review 104:The setting and spa facilities and the staff were so helpful. Food was good and reasonably priced - away from hustle and bustle but good bus service into centre.

Review 105:My husband left his credit card on arrival as a guarantee. The entireamount for the room was blocked on his credit card during our stay. Atcheckout I was however asked to pay the room again. 3 days after, theamount corresponding to the price of the room is still blocked on myhusband's card, although already paid and debited from my account. Iam very unhappy with this situation and with the unhelpful reaction ofthe reception staff when I asked them to check. In my extensiveexperience of travelling (please see the 47 reviews I have given onBooking.com) I have never run into such a situation

Review 106:Wifi very slow, Sunday's breakfast was completely unworthy for 4star hotel. Very noisy night (Saturday>Sunday). Staff didn't bother to ask how our stay was, or why we left 1 day earlier.

Review 107:Nice swimming pool and sauna, good location just outside Luxembourg-city, good bus links to city-center. Nice, clean room. Good dinner at fair price.

Review 108:Little far from the center of Luxembourg City No restaurants or any shops near by

Review 109:We travelled with 2 very young kids. We did not request for additional beds. However, the hotel chose to provide us additional bed for the kids. It was a very good gesture from the hotel. Thank you for the same. Really appreciate it. Free parking Internet Speed and connectivity Activities within the hotel

Review 110:Sometimes i prefer coming down to take my breakfast back to my room. But staff seems not comfortable with that....

Review 111:Staff friendliness, cleanliness of the environment, Good cross ventilation

Review 112:WiFi practically inoperative; very weak and slow connection. The bedroom was of a good size but rather dull and with poor lighting and no desk for working.

Review 113:Modern reception areas and spa.

Review 114:while the fitness room looks good a number of the machines were not working and very few weights

Review 115:although a little out of town the surroundings are nice

Review 116:Breakfast was quite manic, a bit of a free for all, sit were you can find and eat what was available at that time. Food was good though.

Review 117:The hotel is in a quiet location but seemed to be very busy the night we stayed, The staff were kind and courteous. The room was clean with a great bed.

Review 118:* Construction works at the hotel itself ongoing outside on Saturday morning 7.00 hours... * Staff was not very friendly * Shower in the bedroom: when turned on, it soaked the entire bathroom...

Review 119:* Breakfast was OK * Swimming pool, sauna, hamam

Review 120:a bit far from the city centre, however, the centre is easily accessible.

Review 121:New and clean facilities, nice staff, green surroundings... Excellent hotel to spend time in

Review 122:The mattress felt like a waterbed (time to replace it?). The shower couldn't keep the temperature, had to constantly adjust it (got "burned" a few times). No proper chair for the desk. The wifi was so slow it wasn't usable. Paper-thin walls.

Review 123:Free parking. Breakfast was ok.

Review 124:glass doors to the bathroom might not be the most fortunate choice :D

Review 125:huge hotel, nice staff, nice and clean rooms and great breakfast! would definitely stay there again!

Review 126:Had a problem with length of time waiting for meal in restaurant and meal not cooked as requested. Busy restaurant

Review 127:Great location and easy access to town.

Review 128:The pillows were lumpy! It sounds quite petty, but the pillow is the most important part of the bed for me and I don't think lumpy pillows are acceptable at all in a 4* hotel. The pool area was great but a lack of staff supervision meant that a few disrespectful guests divebombing and running around made it impossible for me to enjoy a quiet swim - I gave up after 10 minutes and went back to my room.

Review 129:Good breakfast - lots of options Free parking on site with lots of space Good location - very pretty surroundings and easily accessible from the city centre

Review 130:The dog costs 18 Euros. I would have preferred that I would have known that before. The booking says that there might be some charges for the dog.

Review 131:The indoor pool area and sauna is great.

Review 132:Fitted carpets and strong room scents I didn't like, but we kept windows opened the whole day and room had good air conditioning, so it was ok. People having allergies should contact the hotel before, there might be some better rooms also. Lack of minibar in our room was surprise. We came very late and child always need something to eat or drink. And you cannot drink tube water in Luxemburg, so at least water should be in rooms.

Review 133:Spa and pool area was very good, breakfast also. We stayed only one night, but impression was positive, Hotel was full of business guests. Typical congress-hotel, not so cosy, but modern and clean. Fairly new hotel, in the middle of woods, place to relax.

Review 134:The distance from downtown and bus schedule. Cab ride to dinner out or sightseeing expensive after taxes added at end.

Review 135:The staff were great, facilities and food good.

Review 136:The bed was actually two single beds close together so there was a gap in between which opened during the night. As a couple you had to sleep in seperate beds. There were no coffee making facilities in the room. The entrance of the hotel smelled like cigarettes.

Review 137:The hotel is located about 3-4km outside the city center but they have a big free parking lot. Also there is a bus running to the city and the bus stop is right outside the hotel. If you travel by car it is very convenient. The breakfast was good with a variety although can get crowded. The staff was nice and friendly. In the ground floor there is also a bar ( a bit pricy) and a vending machine.

Review 138:The bed was not very comfortable (definitely too soft) and during the first night I was in the middle of several other rooms booked to a football team. This was very noisy and inappropriate to put me there by the hotel.

Review 139:Nice pool and fitness area and nice restaurant but I do not know yet if I would stay again (see what I didn't appreciate).
