Review 5:The hotel is clean, comfy and has lots of facilities, some of which we didn't even get to try. As this is a large hotel the concern was it would feel packed and over crowded but this was not the case. It didn't feel crowded which was nice. Enjoyed the pool and the service. Food was good.

Review 15:I booked a tripple room, 1 queen/double and 1 twin. Looked spacious when booked online. I did not get the room that I expected. Room was compact, there was no room to move around when they added the 3rd bed. It took a very long time for the staff to put the 3rd bed

Review 17:As with most hotels in Sri Lanka it's overpriced for tourists. More information in the room with regards local sights and excursions would have been helpful. Lengthy powercut when we stayed (approx 6 hours) but no discount given on that days charge.
Review 18:Executive floor service was excellent. Breakfast was excellent. Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff in general very efficient and attentive. Gym is large with lots of equipment. Spa pool preferred to main pool. New Year pool party was great fun.

Review 28:Hotel was too crowded and also understaffed to manage the number of guests. Breakfast arrangements were really poor with not enough chairs and the chef was not able to serve the guests

Review 34:I have booked Cinnamon Grand in Colombo to spend Christmas 2015 thinking of my family and I could have a wonderful Christmas in Sri Lanka. I realised that I made a terrible mistake selecting Cinnamon Grand as soon as I checked in.We have checked in on 24th December (Christmas Eve). I wanted to make sure we could have Christmas Lunch in Cheers pub on following day. I was told that I needed to go through Event Desk and book a table. After visiting Event Desk I found out there were no tables available for us to have Christmas meal in Cheers Pub or anywhere else in the hotel that serves the Christmas meal.When I booked the hotel through www.Booking.com about 5 months ago no one has ever mentioned that I needed to book Christmas meal via hotel Event Desk. I thought that we are hotel guests and we should get the first priority for the Christmas meal than anyone else.I have contacted Hotel on 15th December directly to find their plans for the Christmas day and I received a Seasonal Brochure. Nowhere on the brochure has mentioned that the hotel guests needed to book a table for the Christmas meal. I think it is vital that either hotel or booking.com should inform guests what is require when staying in Cinnamon Grand hotel for Christmas.I have been told by the Event Desk that my family and I can have a meal any other places ie: Noodle Bar/Lagoon/Chutneys etc on Christmas day. We have tried few places in the evening, we couldn’t find a table. It was ridicules that the hotel staff made no effort to find a table for us. We went round few times on all possible places, in the end we gave up and decided to have something in the coffee lounge. It was also full and people were arguing how long they were waiting for a table. We manged to sit at the bar as all comfortable seating areas were occupied. “Lounge” of the hotel is similar to “Piccadilly Circus” in London.

This is a luxury hotel in the heart of the capital Colombo. Every aspect of my stay was quite superb. Of course this is not a budget hotel and therefore the luxury came at a price, but for the price it was maginficent.

Review 65:The hotel taxi driver was out of control. We was going to a mall for some shopping by he kept trying to convince us to go to several gemstone shops which we are not interesting in at all. We clearly told him off but he still drove us to the shops he suggested and ignored what we said. We ended up have to give up and asked him to drive us back to the hotel directly. At the end, we did not manage to do any shopping neither go to the place we originally planed to visit. And we still have to pay the taxi fee!!

The Crescat Boulevard, adjoining the property, houses salons, foot spas, a supermarket, foodcourt, fashion/clothing/footwear shops and other F&B outlets, making everything super accessible. I was awarded a room upgrade and the staff were super nice. The room was spacious and the bedding, very comfortable.

Review 86:I'm not sure about the rest of the hotel, however, the ExecutiveFloor has a huge problem in their rooms in that there is an influx offleas. And when I mean an influx, it is an unbearable discomfort that wehave encountered on more than one occasion when my husband and I stayedthere, as well as when my mum stayed there on her own recently.It is a terribly unpleasant and potentially dangerous issue that the Health Department need to be aware of and come and inspect because despite our initial complaint in August last year, it seemingly continues to happen. In a country such as Sri Lanka where dengue fever and malaria etc. are rampant, serious issues like this need to be addressed urgently. Whilst we received a concerned telephone call from the Assistant General Manager of the hotel over my mother's bites recently, the lack of action is highly concerning as someone could be seriously infected, especially those that are frail (the elderly and children, for example). My mother was bitten so badly in her bed that she had to attempt to sleep across pillows to avoid contact with the sheets. I have previously taken photo evidence of the flea influxes in our rooms and sent it to Management and whilst we were moved to the room next door immediately (where there were also fleas but not on the same scale as the first room) the issue has obviously not been resolved to-date and it is a potential health and safety hazard for guests.

The staff at the Executive Lounge ofthis hotel know myself and my husband very well (my husband being aninternational celebrity) and have always treated us with courtesy andrespect. Their impeccable service is one of the reasons we have beenrepeat guests at the hotel. They also treated my mother in the samewonderful manner, especially the terrific Mario who would be an asset toany organisation.
Review 88:I liked everything - location in the downtown, helpful staff, vey well equipped gym etc. Wifi works well in every corner of the hotel whereever you go. There us a restaurant in the hotel called the Lagoon. This is the best seafood restaurant !!

It could do with some refurb in certain areas and a facelift. However the rooms are very comfortable and with modern conveniences. The coffee shop is brilliant and great staff.
Review 91:Hotel asked my cousin to make a full payment before checkin. I was on air travelling to Colombo, and wasn't able to contact. This was clearly mentioned in my booking. So my cousin had to call his friends and gather the full payment. This should be mentioned on the booking.

Review 94:Got a room with no a/c. The was sent to a room that smelled like cigarettes, that was a request that was not taken care of. The price did not match what was advertised. It went from 149.00 to 215.00. Also during preparations for the wedding bad because best man and myself were sweating thru our suits before the wedding. And not room change was done till after the wedding.

We requested the staff so many times to give us the rooms next to each other or at least on the same floor. but they didn't bother giving us rooms together for even one night. Instead they gave us the rooms on two different building which was almost 10 minutes walk from one room to the other.. whats the point going on a trip with friends.. Also the beds were extremely uncomfortable. The pool is also very bad.. no view and the pool is extremely rusted and the tiles leave white color on your skin. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone neither would I ever stay there again. Immature service and staff!
