Reviews for Hotel Diana

Review 1:The breakfast was good but the coffee was a little weak! So nothing really to complain about!

Review 2:Very obliging staff. Got a good off season weekend deal at a very reasonable price.

Review 3:Room was a bit shabby (e.g., needs paint job). Had a roll away bed that we didn't need and just took up space.

Review 4:Superb help at desk. Large room w/ couch. Easy walk to city sites.

Review 5:Hotel Diana is in an ideal location for the main sights of Ravenna. The staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble; they made us feel so welcome. Breakfasts were most enjoyable too. We would love to return someday.

Review 6:Great location, short walk into the heart of the city. For those coming with a car there is parking on the public square nearby. Hotel has character but rooms are still modern and clean. Will definitely return.

Review 7:Everything was great.

Review 8:The hotel is in a perfect location. We walked from the station with our luggage, checked in, and walked a short distance to San Vitale and the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia.

Review 9:Generally an excellent little hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was very nice and the overall value was great. We liked the relaxed atmosphere and the central location.

Review 10:Staff was really excellent. Hotel was within walking distance of the major Unesco Heritage sites in Ravenna. Room was clean and comfortable. Good value for the price.

Review 11:I didn't think much of the breakfast coffee, but this seems to be a common problem in Italian hotels.

Review 12:The location which is a short walk from the Piazza del Popolo. The room was very quiet and peaceful and it was nice having a balcony.

Review 13:WiFi lacking.

Review 14:Location is great! Staff friendly and proactive. Breakfast is excellent, one of the best we have ever had. The garage is very convenient for 10 euro per night and we could leave the car for half a day after we checked out.

Review 15:the remote control for the air conditioner didn't work, but we were given a replacement room very promptly.

Review 16:desk clerk was very helpful and friendly

Review 17:Directions to the hotel did not indicate that sat nav SHOULD NOT be followed through historic city centre as cars cannot be registered to cancel parking tickets. The hotel is on the edge of the restricted zone and although the sat nav takes you through it, there is a way of getting there outside the restricted area. Be warned.

Review 18:Staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 19:Directions (from central station) could have been better and no room safe, but these are very minor criticisms.

Review 20:Convenient for the main "Gothic" attractions of Ravenna. Knowledgeable staff offer good advice to the visitor on location and entry prices. Excellent breakfasts.

Review 21:The hot water for show is not hot enough.

Review 22:The locations is perfect, near to the center of the city while in a very quite zone, you can go to all importain momuments in the old town by walking.

Review 23:The room and hotel were lacking in character and the breakfast was only moderate - no fresh fruit and generally bland.

Review 24:Location. Friendly and welcoming staff. Room spacious and bed comfortable.

Review 25:Street noise (cars and people) was very bad if you weren't used to it or were a light sleeper.

Review 26:Large clean and comfortable bedroom, huge bathroom. Garage next door for parking (10 Euro / night) was good value even in April as on-street parking seemed very scarce. Helpful desk staff.

Review 27:Smaller, very personable hotel very well placed in the centre of historic Ravenna. Filippo, the manager, did a wonderful job -- efficient, personable and excellent under pressure. He helped me retrieve baggage that airline had lost, without which my entire vacation would have been impaired. Other staff were very personable too. Breakfast had a vast choice of interesting options. Clientele (including Italian families on vacation) was well behaved and interesting.

Review 28:The location is excellent and near the historical sites. Rooms were clean, well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. The windows blocked street noises very well. The staff was courteous, friendly and gave helpful recommendations. They welcomed foreign visitors and made us feel at home. The breakfast provided had many options and well presented.

Review 29:Their bag storage is simply an unlocked copy room on the periphery of the main desk attendant's view. It's free and nothing happened to our bags, but it was a little worrisome to me that anyone could walk in and take a bag without the staff noticing. They need a lock on that door.

Review 30:The staff at the Hotel Diana were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was nice, though there was some strange bright green monster-looking art on the walls in the bedroom. We didn't mind and slept fine, but it was a little strange. The wifi worked great, and the breakfast was excellent. We didn't even know that breakfast was included so were very pleasantly surprised that it not only was, but it was delicious. Easy walking to everything in Ravenna. Would definitely recommend.

Review 31:Complimentary tolietries would have been welcome, especially with the current restrictions on liquids in hand luggage.

Review 32:The twin room was roomy and easy to move around. There was a good selection of quality foods for breakfast. The location was centrally located and convenient for all the city centre sights. The staff were so friendly and helpful and Philip and Reka on reception really raised our visit from good to excellent. I wouldn't hesitaste to recommend the hotel and considered it at the top end of s 3 star rating.

Review 33:Great people work there, willing to give us endless help, flexible about checkout time, offered very useful local information. Good basic room, nothing wrong with it, not fancy, glad there was an elevator, pleased with the location.

Review 34:Room very small. Walls painted in dark blue - not cosy. Towels only for one person. Light in the bathroom not working. Water in the shower warm but never hot.

Review 35:Hotel located in the center. Staff very helpful.

Review 36:There was an automatic light in the area just outside the bathroom which came on whenever one of us went to the toilet in the night. I'm not really sure why it was there, unless its part of some new fire regulations, but it would have been better if we could have turned off this facility

Review 37:This hotel was well situated for the sights of Ravenna. We had a lovely big room in the new part of the hotel with a nice big bathroom. Breakfast was a help yourself buffet and was excellent.

Review 38:The room was rather cold, even for those used to a much colder climate. This seemed to be due to the lack of sunlight on this face of the building. Although a matter of personal taste, I did not like the striped paint on the bedroom wall and radiator and would prefer a more neutral decor. This is an older building and there are a flight of steps to negotiate part way along the bedroom corridor (possibly where two buildings have been joined together) At night, we struggled to see the small illuminated globe with the hotel name on it.

Review 39:The hotel is well located very close to the centre and an easy walk from the train and bus station but in a quiet backwater. Arriving late in the evening, the receptionist was very welcoming The room was very quiet as it overlooked the garden. It was spacious and well maintained. An excellent continental breakfast was served. Notwithstanding minor criticisms, I enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay again.

Review 40:Double room was quite spacious. AC worked well in one of the 2 rooms. Bed comfortable. Staff unbelievably helpful. Breakfast buffet varied and plentiful. They gave us a discount because the AC in in one of the rooms didn't work.

Review 41:Breakfast was good, but an Italian breakfast. One has to get used to the sweets. Wifi was not operational due to technicallities.

Review 42:Comfort of the room was good, location of the hotel very good, staff excellent: very helpfull.

Review 43:Nothing.

Review 44:Breakfast was good. Rooms were newly done and clean. Attitude and helpfulness of staff was great. They were very helpful. Lobby was attractive and welcoming. Parking lot was close with plenty of spaces, but not free. Easy to get in and out.

Review 45:Very friendly and helpful staff, especially the manager. Excellent buffet breakfast. Wonderful location close to city centre but with easy access to other places. Convienient and low cost, with voucher parking nearby.

Review 46:It did not bother us, but there was limited elevator accessibility. So you had to carry your bags up to the lobby.

Review 47:It was our first time to Ravenna, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We used two of their recommended restaurants, and we had excellent meals. Breakfast was served buffet style, like in many hotels, and the food was very tasty and continentally diverse. Our room was 105, and it was very clean. However, it was not a luxury room, but the bed was firm and the bathroom was surprisingly large. It is a 3 star hotel, and we got a lot of value for our dollar. I would go back again when I returned to Ravenna.

Review 48:Room a bit old-fashioned From the room window we could look at... the emergency stairs

Review 49:Very central, perfect for a visit to the nice city center of Ravenna Very gentle staff Good breakfast (with large choice of honey!)

Review 50:Breakfast was ok. It was a busy morning so seating was hard to find. Some fruit was either unripe or had mold. Danishes were a bit dry as compared to cafes. Great options for cereal however and many variety of jams and honey.

Review 51:Staff and rooms were great. Comfortable and quiet. Easy to find and an easy walk to the sites. Several options for parking. I would rebook.

Review 52:Nothing

Review 53:The staff were all excellent and made us feel at home The location was central but quiet and peaceful I would certainly recommend this hotel to everyone

Review 54:It would be have been perfect to have tea / coffee making facilities in the room.

Review 55:Friendly and extremely helpful staff. Excellent location.

Review 94:good location and only 5 minutes walk to Popolo Piazza. Staff is very friendly.

Review 95:hallway was a bit noisy at night

Review 96:helpful staff, air conditioning, excellent breakfast, great location, parking available

Review 97:The staff are warm and friendly and go out of their way to ensure their guests feel welcome. Very ccomfortable stay.

Review 98:There was none!

Review 99:Perfect hotel! Close to the very city center (5-10 mins of walking) with the friendliest staff which helped us with parking and gave an advice about very good restaurant with local food and people. We also rented 2 bicycles for free at the hotel - the city is really convenient for cycling. The hotel is as nice as the city =)

Review 100:bed was very hard. woke up both mornings with sore backs. breakfasts were ok but nothing to rave about.

Review 101:staff was were friendly and very helpful. great restaurant recommendations and helpful with reservations. room was clean and basic.

Review 102:Very friendly and helpful staff. Our bedroom (room 211) and attached shower suite was large and comfortable. Particularly pleasant light breakfast with a vast selection of different honeys. Good restaurants and osterias within a few minutes walk,

Review 103:I have travelled for more than 40 years and I have never encountered a hotel where everyone tried to make one's stay as perfect as possible. In fact I would sum up our stay there as perfect, quite amazing for a 3 star hotel. The next time we visit Ravenna we will certainly stay there again.

Review 104:All was good. The only thing negative was that the photo I saw online when booking the room didn't relate to the actual room we got. The photo I saw of the room was one of the reasons why I booked in that hotel. The room we got looked older. The staff were very receptive to my issue, and told me about a possibility of changing rooms on the next day, but then I decided to stay in the same room, as it went fine.

Review 105:Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent location near the main city attractions, staff was very helpful indicating a very cheap public parking place (about €2) and even took care of renewing the ticket for us on the following day. Room is big, comfortable, big toilet. Would recommend this Hotel to anyone. And great selection of breakfast.

Review 106:Staff ready with good recommendations of things to see and places to eat. The breakfast was excellent, one of the best we've had in four weeks in Italy, and the location is very good, near all the top sights.

Review 107:Nothing really. The room needs to be updated a little in appearance but apart from that I have no complaints.

Review 108:Very helpful and friendly staff. Good choice for breakfast. Good sized room. Located close to everything. On a quiet side street.

Review 109:The hotel is very clean and comfortable, with friendly staff who provided all the help we needed. It was within 15 minutes walk of the railway station and 10 minutes of the incredible mosaics!

Review 110:The room was very dark, the beds were uncomfortableFinding the hotel was difficult using our GPS Toiletries offered in room were very limited, just a few packets of body wash, shampoo, not even mini bottles.

Review 111:I had requested soy milk since my family is allergic to dairy and I washappily surprised that they seemed to have bought a container of soymilk for us specifically and gave us the whole container to use atbreakfast time the one day we stayed there.Centrally located The breakfast items were limited but the hotel offered numerous types of honey that I found interesting and unique. Staff was willing to help us with restaurant recommendations and directions how to find the marina.

Review 112:My access card had to be re-programmed each morning.

Review 113:In a quiet area but close to everything. Staff very friendly. Everything clean and convenient. Breakfast quite varied and good.

Review 114:Try to get down to breakfast early as our first day everyone turned upat about 9.00 and it was chaos. The waitress did everything she couldbut there is only so much one person can do faced with so many peoplewanting to eat.

Review 115:The hotel is ideally placed close to all the main attractions and shops, but close enough to the station if that is how you arrive. We had a carand used the hotel car park which was right next door. The staff wereall very helpful and friendly, approving our choice of restaurant on thefirst night and letting us know how to get there. The hotel was in aquiet area but this is Italy, so be prepared for some loud conversationsat odd hours of the night!

Review 116:We had to put sticking plaster over the censor to stop the light switching on each time one of us got up to go to the toilet in the night.

Review 117:Excellent location, quiet room, very helpful staff, good varied breakfast.

Review 118:The orange juice did not contain real fruit, however breakfast was full and varied though, with a lot to choose from, eg. excellent jam with lots of fruit in it.

Review 119:We vere surprise to find the location very near a cheap parking lot, few minutes walk from the hotel. Walking distance to mosaics and good restaurants

Review 120:Noise from the adjoining room. The part of the hotel we stayed in seemeda bit tired. Service facilities for the maids in the hall way. Wallsneeding ppaint. Carpets a bit worn. Some of my relatives would not havefit into the shower.

Review 121:Very good staff. They allowed us to check in very early because of ourtrain schedule. Nice breakfast and breakfast room. Clean bathroom andgood sized bedroom with comfortable beds pushed together, Europeanstyle. Computer to use downstairs and free Wifi. Elevator. Nice quietlocation in town with very quiet windows and roll shutters.

Review 122:The hotel is next to impossible to locate, even with the directions provided by the hotel. There were many street repair projectsand construction projects going on that made it a very stressful task to find the hotel. The rooms were extremely small and ours was located adjacent to an outdoor gathering spot that created a lot of noise. The rooms on the smae hallway were occupied by very noisy people and the night was not restful. Given our experience, it is doubtful that we would ever stay there again or recommend it to anyone.
