Reviews for Wadi Rum Night Luxury Camp
Review 1:nothing at all
Review 2:Incredibly kind and helpful staff, amazing and abundant food, incredibly cozy, clean and luxury restroom and tent, unforgettabel location
Review 3:weather/very noisy wind found a discarded purse behind tent
Review 4:food very tasty tents are definitely luxury amazing middle of the night moonlit sky and view of the surrounding mountains accepts credit card for payment friendly staff
Review 5:no mobile / phone reception, which is actually nice for a change, but forgot to make arrangements for next day pick-ups - staff was very helpful though to sort things out..
Review 6:very well looked after and designed place - with careful attention to detail!, Particularly liked the warm long coats available for everyone - did not want to return them...
Review 7:The weather (and of course we know this is not at all due to the camp;))
Review 8:The staff was friendly and helpful, the food was fantastic and the room was comfortable, bathroom clean - all very well
Review 9:Camp is within the desert, a few km away from the village. No real free shuttle to the camp as linked to the obligation to take a tour with the same driver. Not announced ahead by the hotel. Tough competition among agencies and drivers!
Review 10:Camp personnel very helpful.
Review 11:The atmosphere at dinner was quite flat; it would have been nice to have sat round a bonfire afterwards but perhaps this was cancelled due to the cold weather.
Review 12:This has to be the most comfortable way to experience a night in the desert. The bed was great, a large, warm blanket was provided, along with towels, toiletries and a torch. The shared bathroom facilities were spotlessly clean and had hot water. We liked that we were left to fill our time in the desert how we wished, with no pressure to do tours; the camp is in a good location for walks in the dunes.
Review 13:Breakfast wasn't great and was expecting a nice Arabic/Turkish coffee instead of a horrible instant one.
Review 14:The diner was very nice. The accommodation was spot on, toilet/showers were very clean. My kids absolutely loved it.
Review 15:The tent was beautiful and very well made, it didn't even feel like we were staying in a tent. The shower facilities are very good too though a short walk away from our room. The sky is adorned with stars at night and we saw a few shooting stars too.
Review 16:Didnt like being ripped off by the complementary driver sent to the entrance /village to take us to the camp. He offered us a private tour for 70JDI got him.down to 30JD, but only spent 15 minutes taking us to a dune and the Spring of Lawrence, which were on the way to the camp
Review 17:Beautiful location, tents, stylish bathroom. Pleasant staff.
Review 18:During the booking process I left my details and ask to be contacted but this never happen and when we arrive at the Main gate of the Wadi we had some missunderstanig with the local beduin.
Review 19:Beautiful location, nice food and nice personnell.
Review 20:No downside to this place .. absolutely amazing...will go again with more friends...
Review 21:Compliments to Our guide Mohammed and the owner Ibrahim Amra who hosted us with such hospitality and catered to every need...The place looks just like advertised ...comfortable beds...plush luxurious tents ...clean facilities ..what you see is what you get ...thank you for making our stay
Review 22:There was absolutely NO cold drinks. They claimed that the refrigerator is not working. It was like a joke: 36 degrees hot weather and no cold drinks at all. Food was very ordinary, nothing special, not even close to a beduin dinner as it was advertised. The funny "space tent" in the middle of the camp was spoiling the entire scenery.
Review 23:Location, the environment, the feeling of sleeping in a tent in the middle of an historic desert
Review 24:Nothing but it would be perfect if they call you before you arrive to arrange a driver towards the camp.
Review 25:1. The availability of the rest and shower rooms. 2. The location is outstanding. 3. The food (breakfast and dinner) was so good. 4.Staff treats you like a family member.
Review 26:Lots of one night guest, not enough information when arriving about camp and how things work
Review 27:Property is kept well, everything is in excellent condition
Review 28:Breakfast and coffee was not good. Did not like camel milk. Camp itself could have organized activities such as samdsurfing and camel riding rather going through separate contact.
Review 29:Peaceful and restful. Dinner was excellent. Very clean
Review 30:I think it's a bit expensive, the tents and sleeping accommodation are superior to other camps but for that rate I expected better food and I didn't expect definitely soap diluted with water in the bathrooms. Anyway the whole experience was superb.
Review 31:I liked everything about it, starting the luxurious tents, the comfort of the bed, the shower was perfect, actually one of the best in Jordan although it's in the desert :-). The food was so so .. I can't say it was perfect or bad, it was fine, the rice and chicken were tasty but the salads were a bit tasteless, the breakfast too, but I didn't care as I loved the whole experience. Muhammed the manager was nice and welcoming and after dinner we stayed with him talking while drinking tea (that he calls bedouin's whiskey :-) the tea was great by the way, he told us interesting stories about the life of bedouins and petra. The chef Raafat was also very nice and was caring enough to ask after each meal how was it and I always told him that it was very delicious for the effort he was making.
Review 32:Everything was perfect, and thanks a lot for the hospitality of the manager who made sure everything was up to the standard. This camp was the highlight of my trip to Jordan. Staying overnight in such well managed camp made it really worth visiting wadi rum. It's the best camp to stay with in wadi rum
Review 33:Nowhere to hang clothes, nor the towels after the shower. It's a Muslim country - take your own beer/wine.
Review 34:The stars. Lying back, staring at the night sky was magical - fantastic. Amazing that, in such a remote location, the facilities are so good. Dinner was very good, and tasty. Breakfast was wholesome. Full marks for the food that they prepare with such basic facilities. The tents are spacious and comfortable. The staff are friendly, willing and helpful. It's a unique experience that you really should try - certainly glad that we did.
Review 35:It wasn't explained that we had to pay to enter wadi rum and it would have been nice to know in advance.
Review 36:The scenery was spectacular and location was really out of the way and natural
Review 37:no water in toilets very bad ventilation design in the the tent (we never slept because of hot weather we never slept till morning when we asked to change the tent when we arrived into better location with possibility for better ventilation (we were the only guests in the camp and all the tents were empty ) we have been told that no body there to prepare a new room
Review 38:location
Review 39:Warm welcome and thoughtful team, beautiful set up in the desert without anything pretentious or too put on. Stunning location - beautiful to just enjoy, as well as walking distance to some great sites such as rock inscriptions, giant sand dunes and beauty at every turn. Did I mention the food was lovely?
Review 40:no bad comments at all
Review 41:Very clean! The staff are extremely helpful and polite, very comfortable beds! Dinner was delicious. Star gazing around the campfire was an incredible experience! The bathrooms were clean and smelled great! Take a flashlight with you as they turn the lights off late at night (in case you need to make a trip to the bathroom)
Review 42:Everything was fabulous, from the location to the quality, the facilities, the staff and the food. Could not fault a thing. Even the drive to the camp in the rickety old truck was one of the highlights. Simply superb!
Review 43:We stayed 2 nights and there ia nothing we did not like. Service, Food, Hospitality of the crowd etc. Was simply magnificent taking in consideration you are in the middle of the desert... We went hot air ballon, drive in camels, jeep trip, bbq in the desert with an amazing jordanian that tought us about life in Wadi Rum. For people that like outdoors as we do, and enjoy the magnificency of amazing places on earth. Wadi Rum is a must and this camp was beyond expectations! Thank you for the increible time
Review 44:Nothing to report.
Review 45:The owner Mohammed upgraded me for free, very nice person as well as the staff. All friendly, clean. Just had wonderful time, the food was great, had a lovely stay.
Review 46:We loved this camp. Seriously, we couldn't stop recommending it tothe other tourists we ran into and telling our other friends just incasesomeone ended up going to Wadi Rum.The campsite is beautiful, clean and calm. Pure silence and serenity which is what we all needed after so many days of travelling. The staff are very helpful, we arrived pretty late, at around 9.30pm, but they left out dinner for us which was much appreciated as we were starving. The food = mouthwatering! We spent the night with the other campers around a campfire drinking bedouin tea and enjoying stories. The beds were possibly the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. Our friends had a double bed but you could easily fit four people in it with enough room to move! Our stay was amazing and it's been a while since we've left Jordan and we still can't stop talking about this camp! My family want to go to Jordan now just so they can stay here! Thank you to all the staff who made our trip unforgettable.
Review 47:It's certainly not roughing it.
Review 48:The staff were very helpful and friendly. They were local guys, so knew the terrain well. I was surprised at how nice the toilets were considering the location.
Review 49:The telephone is in another tent, so they might not hear the call sometimes. You better call the camp in advance to make sure they can pick you up on time.
Review 50:1. Great tour guide introduced by the camp, Mzied Atieg. He was born and raised in wadi rum. very professional and knowledgeable! provided us a good deal and took us to the most important sites without any extra charge. Really really enjoyed the tour! Highly recommend this guide. Just ask the camp manager, and he would know this guide. 2. modern facilities compared to other camps (we visited another camp before and I have to say this Wadi Rum Luxury Camp is second to none) 3. very professional and friendly staff (they played arabic music after dinner) 4. Unforgettable night while sitting around the fire, listening to the local music and enjoying the full sky of stars!!! Like in a dream!
Review 51:shared bathroom no water in bathroom, but after owner was informed he fixed the problem within minutes bathroom in filthy condition due to no water
Review 52:nice tents, location, setting prompt response of owner to fix issues nice and tasty dinner bring yr own beer, wine if you like
Review 53:Confusion over the jeep ride. For jeep ride book it thru camp only. Don't bother taking from the person is picking you from city. These people are not from the camp. 40 JD for 3hrs is the rate for jeep ride.
Review 54:Very clean and good propertygood and helpful Manager.
Review 55:Picturesque location, stylish and comfortable room, attentive staff. Please, note there is no roaming or internet at the hotel. A luxury escape from civilization.
Review 56:The jeep we started our tour of the Wadi in broke down leaving us stranded for and hour. The box lunch was a little sparse and dinner was not served until 8pm. That made for a long hungry afternoon after hiking a good part of the afternoon.
Review 57:The tents were great and the beds comfortable. The people were friendly and seemed happy to accommodate our needs. I like the Bedouin people.
Review 58:There was a problem with the hot water.
Review 59:We loved the decoration of the tent. Toilets and showers were very clean. The dinner was delicious! Best food we had in Jordan.
Review 60:The breakfast could have been richer to help us get to the lunch time. One of the staff members (and only one) was bit too nosy trying to secure his own deal of driving you around in the desert and I felt really uncomfortable when he sat on my dinner table to eat and sell his tour guide services. I prefer more privacy.
Review 61:There is no other heaven on the earth like this. Waking up every morning in the stunning views after sleeping well in a safe and luxurious tent is a blessing. Highly recommend this to everyone; families, solo travellers, groups and couples. You will never forget the sights and sunsets you are about to experience here. Staff works hard to make you happy. They have solar panels too!
Review 62:Little things could be improved, but the price allows the criticism. Shower was cold for women but they fixed it afterwards. We agreed to be picked up at 9am and finally they cAme fot us at 10am, just a short delay but you Don't want to spend time waiting on vacations. Anyway, the best place to stay at Wadi Rum.
Review 63:Location and extremely nice staff. The dinner was amazing and the tea around the fire after dinner was cozy. Rooms are comfortable and exceptional for being the middle of the desert.
Review 64:The bean bags together with a blanket were just perfect for star gazing - we spent at least half an hour outside even though we were absolutely exhausted from our day!
Review 65:We had to pay extra for driving us to the camp and stay per person total 45 JOD while I expected everything to be inclusive in booking price. Showers didn't have hot water.
Review 66:Very friendly staff, nice place. Tents had a very clean facilities. Organizators offered night shisha tea, fire camp and sun rise trip on the mountains which was unexpectedly great!
Review 67:Unfortunately my guide for my wadi rum tour was extremely unprofessional . Making inappropriate comments, staring at me while he was driving, forcing me to drive the tour truck. He took my sunglasses and wore them, grabbed my camera and took videos. Kept asking me to lie down in the sand with him, insisting I use his hand as a pillow. I could go on and on listing his odd behaviours. Please keep in mind I am a female traveling alone. I felt scared and very uncomfortable. So uncomfortable that I Insisted he take me back to the camp. I was in tears most of the night. I couldn't beleive the way this driver treated me. What a waste of money. After dinner I just wanted to hide in my room and get out of wadi rum as soon as possible. I have nothing but bad memories from wadi rum. I wanted to complain to the manager the next morning but unfortunilty he had left the camp to do something in the village. . Thank you Fayaz for being so kind but you need to train these drivers how to treat your guests. Very upsetting.
Review 68:The manager at the camp was very professional and kind. The tent was so beautiful. Comfortable bed . Stunning views
Review 69:The credit card machine was not working which they should have let me know about before hand as we did not have enough cash. That said - they were very helpful trying to make it all work out without too much hassle
Review 70:The staff were excellent - friendly and helpful. The food was amazing given that it is a camp in the desert. The rooms were spacious and comfortable.
Review 71:The Wadi Rum Desert itself makes the trip worth it! The dark Night with those Gigantic Mountains shadows and the Sky full of stars make you feel you are living a dream in another Planet! The Staff was second to none! Friendly and helpful! The Arabic Food was delicious and the Tents were extremely comfortable! The Owner, and our Bedouin guides were beyond to make us feel welcome and take advantage of the beauty of the surroundings! Don't miss to go and see the dusk and sunrise, you will be impressed of the Colors and magnificent composition of Clouds, Mountains and Desert!
Review 72:Poor breakfast and in a luxury camp will be great To have room with private bathroom
Review 73:The staff is great, the location is wonderful, the room is very comfortable.
Review 74:Breakfast was fully arabic, which means you eat the same things you eat for lunch or dinner. They should intorduce some variation and especially some cakes/sweet biscuits
Review 75:Nothing.
Review 76:Excellent Staff. Very responsive to our needs. The owner took the time to direct the site manager to provide assistance to our needs. We wish we stayed an extra night.
Review 77:The bathrooms could have been cleaner. Also there was no water upon arrival but it finally came on in the evening. Whew!
Review 78:The location was outstanding. The dinner was very good, the breakfast only so so. Tea by the campfire after dinner was a nice touch. The tents were very comfortable.
Review 79:After paying for a 3 hour desert tour at the Amra Palace international hotel in Petra (same management) we were told that we have to pay an extra £30/- to see some of the sites ( some of the most important sites were not overed in the original package). We felt this was a bit of a rip off!
Review 80:We booked one night at this luxury camp set against the backdrop of the hugely stunning Crags in the desert where the famed Lawrence of Arabia lived!! One of the best places we have ever visited!! The sheer expanse of unspoilt beauty is an absolute joy to savour!! The staff were outstanding going that extra mile to make our stay unforgettable!! The 3 hour jeep tour across the desert was stunning to say the least!! Don't miss to climb the rock Bridge!!
Review 81:Nothing to report. Really nothing. Go there and see with your eyes.
Review 82:All excellent, even better than the expectations. Very clean, beatiful location, friendly staff, even normal wc & showers with hot water in the middle of the desert!
Review 83:It is amazing to think you can have such great facilities in the desert. It was so peaceful, a once in a lifetime experience. Thank you to the staff who were so kind and helpful.
Review 84:If I was to ask for some small changes it would be to have dinner start at 7pm not 8pm and the same for breakfast to start at 7am not 8am.
Review 85:We were very welcomed to the camp and the rooms were as comfortable and luxurious as the photos showed. The tents were positioned in such a way that one felt the beautiful space of the desert around them. The dinner was delicious and there was ample food. And being able to sit outside our tents after dinner and watch the night stars was beautiful.
Review 86:Nothing
