Reviews for Palazzo Galletti Abbiosi
Review 1:Excellent location and could walk to most of the historic sights. Lots of sitting areas within the hotel to relax. On-site parking. Great breakfast with a very frothy cappuccino!
Review 2:The electrical appliances had issues.
Review 3:The staff and director were so helpful. I was locked out of an airbnb paid B & B and found them! last minute.
Review 4:We were a bit disappointed when we found out that our room (it was actually a small flat) wasn't in the hotel but in a building on the other side of the road.
Review 5:Wonderful breakfast, the "room" was big and clean. Excellent position, near Sant' Apollinare Nuovo and the centre.
Review 6:We had a very comfortable stay. The on site car parking was extremely convenient. The staff were friendly & helpful. We would definitely stay again. Very nice.
Review 7:Avoid the annexe rooms - we were in 'C', which was more like a basement than a ground floor room. Didn't help that the central heating boiler is situated literally in the middle of the room and fired up @ 6:00am!
Review 8:Excellent location - main hotel was an excellent restoration of an old house with great common areas
Review 9:Air conditioning controls were erratic (maybe only in our room), and water was no more than tepid for showering.
Review 10:Spacious, clean and comfortable room in a beautiful property. Well located close to the train station as well as the central pedestrian area of Ravenna.
Review 11:Small room was extremely small, just enough space to manoever around the bed.
Review 12:Very good location just across from San Apollinaire Nuova and a few blocks from train station. Terrific full breakfast.
Review 13:Bit formal, unlike the smaller hotels. But a lot of people like the private, formal atmosphere.
Review 14:I felt it was luxury living. The large hotel is within walking distance of the train station, very formal atmosphere. A very nice first single room. Then I opted to stay another night and they moved me to a less luxurious room, still OK. Great breakfasts.
Review 15:Nothing
Review 16:This hotel is situated in the center of Ravenna and easily accessible to all major sights. We enjoyed the bicycles that were on loan for free. The breakfast was wonderful with all kinds of breads and fruits. The room was spacious and very comfortable. As we came by car it was great having the car safely parked in the courtyard. We recommend this hotel!
Review 17:Not clearly stated how to approach the hotel by car because of one way streets around + closed roads
Review 18:Great location, fantastic classic architecture+special mood and environment, one of the best breakfast we have had, polite staff,
Review 19:Great location, walking distance to many of sites. Very helpful staff. Provided good city map. Helped with parking pass and calls to police to avoid tickets for driving on restricted roads. Good breakfast. Bar available.
Review 20:Internet connection was annoying, as you had to sign in every time - but it was free. Rooms, called superior, in the annex were a bit soulless - large but anonymous and a bit cold.
Review 21:Lovely hotel, good location, helpful staff.
Review 22:The location could not be better for visiting the wonderful mosaics in Ravenna. The hotel itself is very handsome. Breakfast was moderately good and staff generally helpful.
Review 23:Bedroom was cramped. Ac was weak.
Review 24:Location is excellent, very close to the heart of the old town. And bang opposite San Apollonare. Staff incredibly helpful and pleasant. Free parking. Great character and ambience. Lovely chapel and spacious public areas. Great breakfast. Super high ceilings! Free use of bike.
Review 25:The parking situation is confusing. They only have free parking for a few cars. Then you are on. Street or paid garage
Review 26:Room was beautiful. Breakfast a real treat. Very accommodating.
Review 27:not easy to find, look out for 2 flower pots outside
Review 28:stayed in separate apartment, ideal location, close to piazzas and restaurants, wonderful breakfast
Review 29:Convenient location for the centre and visiting the mosaics. Beautiful building with a gorgeous courtyard. Large selection of items for breakfast, though mainly sweet.
Review 30:I didn't have any.
Review 31:It was a great surprise from the moment I entered this place. Two woman at the reception were very kind and helpful, speccially with the parking issue because the parking area at the hotel was full. Excellent accommodation and superb breakfast.
Review 32:Check-in to the Hotel was a bad experience. Staff keep talking on the phone and kept ignoring guests at the desk.
Review 33:Fantastic value for money. Great place to stay.
Review 34:On booking.com photos they show Thé main building. And they dont explain clearly about Thé sub building and it is away from Thé main building and completely Somewhere else. When you buy you choose according to photos but you stay Somewhere apse if you are not on Thé main building
Review 35:Difficult to reach by car because of one way streets and restricted zones. Promises free parking, but lot was full when I arrived. Had to pay 2 euros for unlimited street parking nearby.
Review 36:Excellent location in the center of town and can walk to all churches and restaurants. Good breakfast and some coupons for area restaurants.
Review 37:The room we've got was a bit gloomy ; humidity spots on the walls ; the room we've been assigned upon arrival was not of the type we've booked - in the end we've got a room corresponding to the category booked but the manager suggested that is doing us a favour....
Review 38:The lovely garden and the breakfast
Review 39:This is very good hotel for staying in the Ravenna city center. The location is perfect and everything is possible to visit on foot. Breakfast is also very good and the rooms are comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. If i will suggest hotel in Ravenna I would again book this hotel.
Review 40:Parking place is very small and if you decided to go by car to visit for example seaside, be sure when you come back will be no parking place at your hotel, but, for 8 eu nearly you can park your car for one noght. One bottle, 250 ml of cold water in a bar coast 4 eu.
Review 41:The hotel is situated in the center of Ravenna: across the road you can visite St.Appolinare Nuovo, all others sightseengs are also in a walking distance (not more then 15 min.) Room was quite, clean, freach air. Nice breakfast with many frech froots. Hotel staff was welcome.
Review 42:- we were given the room at the ground floor, which was dark. The noise of street traffic didn't allow us sleeping well. The extra bed, which was put in the room for our daughter (12 years old), was very uncomfortable.
Review 43:- the selection of food at breakfast, especially variety of fruit - charming internal garden of the palace
Review 44:The bed was very narrow, and was also too. Long to fit against the available wall space. So that left a gap of a meter between the bed and the wall on one side and the rest of the room on the other. I was a little fearful I would fall out of the bed if I turned over in my sleep. Otherwise my stay was very enjoyable and the staff were superb. I. Also appreciated the bikes that were available for guests. If they could just fix that bed problem ...
Review 45:Our room was on the first floor that let to the parking area. there was no window, just a large door. Plenty of light but not too much privacy if you left the curtains open. Not that big a deal!
Review 46:Very comfortable and nice sitting and lounging areas. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was abundant with fruits, cereal, cold cuts, cheeses and bread.
Review 47:Not a bad experience, but finding the flat, depending on spoken instructions of receptionist, was difficult. If possible, it would be better for one of the hotel staff to accompany the guest to the flat, on arrival.
Review 48:Location and elegance of main hotel. convenience, size and cleanliness of flat.
Review 49:The hotel is a very pretty building with all facilities. the room was spacious (with very high ceilings), clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was very nice also for northern people (ie. not only sweet). The location is also excellent.
Review 50:Waited outside door x20m with no answer on arrival. Then led 1km away to a room with shared bathroom even though we booked one with a private. No breakfast served even though it was promised. The evening of departure looked for 2 hours for someone to pay by foot and phone. Never found. Frustrated forced to call Booking.com in desperation. In the morning before leaving woken up with someone looking into our open window. Turned out he was the one to pay. Cash only even though visa was the option we selected.
Review 51:Pleasant people
Review 52:Ask for the large room on the courtyard side with amazing windows and extremely high ceilings. Get the kind help from desk "hostess" Virginia. Easy walk to mosaics in churches and to the train station. My wife says to be sure to bring your taffeta gown for pix on the sweeping marble staircase; I'm not kidding.
Review 53:Room was very noisy if you wanted to leave a window open. Decor in rooms rather charmless - though we loved the Madonna over the bed!
Review 54:Excellent location and breakfasts. Staff were pleasant and helpful.
Review 55:-Excellent position -The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful - breakfast - nice variety of salty and sweet products - the rooms are a bit too small, but clean and equiped with everything you need. - wifi worked properly
Review 56:The room was comfortable and clean. Given its location in town, every place in the city center is close! Don't miss the breakfast: it is very good.
Review 57:The hotel is situated perfectly for the centre albeit if arriving by car you need to stop on the side street before the ztl zone and ensure there us space in the car park . If you go into the ztl zone which is immediately outside the front door, just advise the friendly receptionist who will notify the police to waiver the fine. Then into the staff who were excellent , pleasant and helpful throughout the stay. The breakfast was extensive in choice and well prepared. The only minor issue was the wifi was not strong throughout the hotel albeit the hotel advises of two specific hot spots.
Review 58:Our Room (# 19) had 2 problems: 1) only one bedside table, only one reading lamp. 2) the toilet seat will not stay up for male guests...( ! )
Review 59:Enjoyed the location and liked the staff. The breakfast was above average and the staff in the dining room was courteous and efficient.
Review 60:It was great to have free bikes, but they could do with a little maintenance. The shower leaked all over the bathroom floor.
Review 61:I found the staff very pleasant and helpful. The room was really clean, a little wear and tear on the furniture. Breakfast excellent.
Review 62:Driving to the destination proved difficult as one section of the street was only on-way (in the opposite direction). There was some noise from the room above our annex unit, but not too serious.
Review 63:Great location within walking distance of attractions and facilities. Helpful staff, very spacious and comfortable room (Unit C in Annex), nice breakfast, on-site parking
Review 64:Breakfast not impressive in terms of choices, tables quite wobbly. Room a bit tiny.
Review 65:Outstanding look from the outside, very close to train station and city centre. Staff quite friendly.
Review 66:One of the few hotels where there was nothing that we could fault, especially for the price.
Review 67:Staff were very helpful and friendly, the room was beautiful and the location was perfectly set amongst the monuments, station and town centre. Couldn't be happier, shall certainly return.
Review 68:No use of Wi-Fi in the adjoining building where we stayed.
Review 69:Large rooms and excellent beds , bathroom kitchen facilities. Very convenient for us to walk to the monuments. Excellent breakfast.
Review 70:The rooms are not all connected so you either have to cross the road for some, or go out through the car park. It was pouring with rain, which made that horrid, but that was not their fault.
Review 71:Very large room, lots of hot water, excellent coffee at breakfast and real fresh fruit, plus lots of other Italian pastries.
Review 72:Would really recommend this hotel, with its quiet elegance and wonderful central position, it's the ideal place to explore the wonders of Ravenna. The breakfast buffet was great, fresh and varied.
Review 73:Our friends were staying in a triple room - Annex-this apartment is 200 metres from the hotel. Not convenient. Our room had poor heating. For two days the staff was unable to maintain it. The room was cool, and the floor is cold. Helped really warm blankets.
Review 74:Good hotel for exploring the city centre. Old building with high ceilings and beautiful frescoes. Parking for about 10 cars. Not very comfortable, but the place has always been. Good bar, tables and chairs in the courtyard. In the lobby is spacious. Normal breakfast. Triple rooms in the main building are very large. The hotel is always quiet, although all rooms are occupied.
Review 75:The Deluxe-Appartment has a problem with humidity, there is fungi on the wall and this is smellable through the whole flat. We wished we would have taken the triple-room of the central building.
Review 76:Beautiful place, very central with a nice garden, big appartment, quiet for a good sleep, very good breakfast, helpful staff, special thanks to Salvatore.
Review 77:Spacious, comfortable and clean room, very good bathroom, reliable wifi, excellent breakfast, friendly staff. On the edge of the historic centre of Ravenna, almost opposite Sant'Apollinare Nuovo and under ten minutes' walk to the railway station. Recommended.
Review 78:Wifi is very weak and often didn't work in the room without big interruptions. If you prefer it quieter to sleep ask for an inner room. Both streets it faces are busy. The only negative we experienced with the courtyard room was smoke coming into our room from those smoking outside in the courtyard. It would be nice if they didn't allow smoking in the courtyard but as so many guests probably smoke we doubt that would happen. We would still recommend and return to this lovely and comfortable hotel.
Review 79:Easy 3-4 block walk from the train station. A great value for all they offer. Wonderful breakfast, cozy courtyard and a superb value for the money. Good restaurant suggestions from the desk staff.
Review 80:Bathroom had a slight musty odour which may be due to moisture or damp somewhere under the floor, as some of the grout in the floor tiles have rust-coloured stains. But otherwise clean and quite acceptable. Not a problem in the overall.
Review 81:Wonderful room for size, spaciousness and making you feel good. Would definitely stay again. Good staff at reception, helpful, no fuss. Good breakfast. Car parking a bonus. Excellent value too. Could not have asked for more.
Review 82:Nothing.
Review 83:*great location! Central to all great UNESCO buildings *fantastic breakfast with so very many choices *clean and modern bathroom facilities *very reasonable price *very helpful staff *wi.fi good
Review 84:The room was nothing like what they promote. Room was run down, bathroom poor with an unbearable stench which they claimed to know nothing about. Room is promoted as having air conditioning but they switch it off of an evening which forces you to open the windows and given its in the city centre you get very little sleep. If you mention it to them they claim it was an error yet complaints on the internet go back years on the fact they switch the internet off to increase their margin.
Review 85:We stayed in a spacious, comfortable apartment outside of hotel. Location excellent and hotel provided free bicycles which we used to visit the Unesco sites around the city.
Review 86:The receptionist was the only member of staff on at night. That meant running reception and the bar. I got stuck in the lift and had to be released by a fellow guest.
Review 87:Good fir sleep and for breakfast. Brilliant for convenience to the attractions of Ravenna and it has car parking!
Review 88:Single rooms are rather small, though adequate
Review 89:Location -- close to antique center but walkable from train station Breakfast room staff quite attentive Expansive public rooms/spaces
Review 90:Nothing, really.
Review 91:Wed reserved a double room, but we actually got an apartment-sized suite, with our own patio. That we got such a lovely room may be a quirk of scheduling, but we really enjoyed it. The WiFi generally worked fine. Among the best B&B breakfasts we have had in Italy over two weeks of travel - eggs, fresh fruit, etc.
Review 92:Staff often on the phone and delays in answering questions at front desk.
Review 93:Very close to train station Very helpful staff (when they were not on phone) Gorgeous breakfast! Great atmosphere and cute little chapel inside. Good place to both work, relax and do sightseeing
Review 94:Our room was too close to the reception, and it became quite noisy in the early morning.
Review 95:Very good location. Charming hotel. Excellent breakfast. Reception very friendly to organize parking space.
Review 96:Air conditioner in room stopped working at 2 am on a 38 degree day. Lady at reception was quite rude at check in. Didn't offer a map of city or provide any information about breakfast times etc.
Review 97:Really good breakfast buffet with lots of fresh fruit. Secure parking in site
Review 98:Rather rude receptionist! We booked a quadruple room and were given a sofa bed as the double bed and it was incredibly uncomfortable. Breakfast seemed a bit chaotic with the two staff members rushing about and struggling to keep up with the demand for coffees etc.
Review 99:Large room with high ceiling. Polite and helpful lady at the bar. Free car parking available.
Review 100:Room noisy (street traffic and plumbing). Mosquito infested.
Review 101:Excellent breakfast. Just across street from one or the churches on the mosaic tour. Nice public rooms and courtyard. Onsite parking. Reasonably priced.
Review 102:We were booked for two nights and were happy to pay for the first night since we had been in the room for 3 hours. The receptionist was nice enough to call her manager (owner?) and ask about a refund for the second night. He said no. I was too distraught and overwhelmed to argue, yet I felt the kind thing to do would have been to not charge us for the 2nd night. A little compassion goes a long way. Sorry but I can't recommend this hotel.
Review 103:I'm sure we would have enjoyed ourselves there, but when we received a call that my husband's mother was critically ill, we had to leave after only 3 hours.
Review 104:It was a lovely hotel although we stayed in another building around the corner that felt a bit isolated. The breakfast was very good and the service was excellent. We only stayed overnight but it was good. The car park was full so we had to park the car 2 blocks down.
Review 105:The room for 5-6 persons was dark and not att all like the pictures. Thereceptionist was really agressive and unpleaseant.
Review 106:Breakfast and the "library" was beutiful and nice. Personellat breakfast was really fast and polite.
Review 107:Whilst the room was clean and modern it was small with a wardrobe with two low selves but no other storage facilities. The full length window to the courtyard was obscured by car that parked directly outside it right up close. But they never actually disturbed us. Breakfast good and staff very good. Reception staff good but one older dark haired lady unhelpful and surly.
Review 108:Little bit noisy from other rooms.
Review 109:Ravenna is nice and this hotel is near and in walking distance of most sights and centre. Ask for rooms to inner cord if you like to open the windows, the hotel is located at the corner of two city roads. The breakfast service was ok.
Review 110:The first night we had to have the room next to reception which as a little noisy and lacking in character; although it had a good modern bathroom.
Review 111:The staff, our second room, the public spaces, breakfast.
Review 112:the air conditioning broke down and they had no electrical spare ones which would be very handy in such cases. They were very nice about it and gave us a discount
Review 113:Perfect location, nice ample rooms and good value for money. The best are Diego Avvisati cappuccinos that are just works of art. It is the mount everest of capuccinos. Franceso D Eliseo is simply the most gracious waiter we have ever found. Thank you, they made our stay so special!
Review 114:Bit noisy in the morning due to traffic on narrow streets. Ask for first floor accommodation ! Inner court parking free but needs luck to have a place available ( we were the lucky ones :-)
Review 115:Great location, within walking distance of every famous places ( 50 m from San Appolinare Nuovo) ! Very nicely renovated Palazzo, nice salons ! Nice, spacious room with fresco-painted ceiling ! Good quality furniture, flatscreen tv, good internet, functioning AC. Marvellous breakfast, lots of fresh fruit, nice coffee made by the staff from proper coffee machine ! Good english spoken. Helpful staff. Inner court, safe parking.
Review 116:The daytime staff at the front desk seem as if they do not want to help at all. The breakfast staff on the other hand, are very nice and accommodating. It actually appears as if the day shift front desk workers don't care that you are in a city or country that you are not familiar with. With a better staff (or if the current staff is required to take some hospitality lessons) this would be an ideal place to stay in Ravenna...all of the other elements are there.
Review 117:After a while, the 'blissful coolth' became a little chilly and, having altered the setting, we could never get it quite right again! We should have asked for help, but didn't.
Review 118:Beautifully restored old palazzo right in the centre of Ravenna, just yards from one of the mosaic sites and in easy walking distance of the others. Internal courtyard provides easy parking. Air conditioning was on when we arrived, making the room blissfully cool on a baking hot day.
Review 119:Difficult to control rooms temperature, very stuffy.
Review 120:Easy walk from the train station and then to the local sites.
Review 121:Great location for exploring Ravenna tourist sites?
Review 122:great staff
Review 123:Location immersa nel centro
Review 124:Nothing. Good stay
Review 125:Perfect location. Really felt comfortable. Breakfast could have been better but it was not terrible.
Review 126:Large family room was amazing. Buffet breakfast excellent
The Fine Print
