Reviews for Relais Villa Madruzzo

Review 1:The access is a bit complicated due to location but manageable.

Review 2:Very nice environment, comfortable room, excellent service in restaurant and very delicious food!

Review 3:Quiet lovely location. Only a 15 minutes bus ride to Trento City Center. The on premise spa was wonderful after an exciting day at the Christmas markets. Most relaxing atmosphere.

Review 4:Really nice hotel close to Trento city centre. The breakfast is just amazing with lots of organic food and all veggy type of milk :-) The staff is really helpfull - if you think of visiting any monuments ask for the free guests visitor card which allows to most of the amenities in Trentino.

Review 5:First time in Italy and I had a fabulous stay! Our room was really nice and the large bed was very comfortable. I was really pleased with all the services. Attention to detail is paid everywhere you look at. Besides all the services you get from a top hotel, you get caring services such as freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast and TV with channels in many different languages. The food at the restaurant is exceptionally good. Everyone at the hotel is lovely and they will do everything they can to make you feel welcome and special. I had a great and relaxing time at the wonderful SPA. The views from the property are beautiful!

Review 6:This was not my first time at Villa Madruzzo, and every time I go there I have an over abundance of nice things to say. I love this place because one can really feel how much they care about hospitality. Service is excellent, all the staff are lovely, courteous, helpful and professional, they make you feel looked after. The facilities are spotless clean, both public areas and rooms. The rooms are modern and very nicely decorated. Food is excellent too, breakfast has lots of options including pastries, cakes, cheeses, hams, yogurts, eggs and more!. The menu at the restaurant for lunch and dinner also has fantastic options for food from the region and everything is delicious. I would definitely recommend Villa Madruzzo to anyone visiting Trento!

Review 7:We had a very pleasant stay at this beautiful hotel. Management and Staff made us very welcome, they are very well informed and always ready to help. The rooms were very clean and views from the hotel are fantastic. We also had a lovely meal at the restaurant. Will definitely recommend. Thank you for making our holiday a special one.

Review 8:It is one thing to tick all the boxes in terms of facilities, but it was the staff here that made us come back. Friendly and charming, yet always professional, they made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We had originally booked for one night, but liked the place so much that we changed our plans and stayed a second night, then diverted on our way home in order to stay a third night and introduce our adult son to the place.....and, unusually for us, we ate at the on-site restaurant all three nights!

Review 9:Pricing especially in the excellent restaurant is extrordinarily fair. I have hardly gotten any better value for money. Also, the staff is extremely helpful and friendly!

Review 10:Nothing

Review 11:A wonderful hotel in a fine position. Every aspect of the hotel was excellent - position, historic building, facilities, comfort, restaurant, staff, price. Intend to return.

Excellent hotel! Staff were kind and nice and willing to help with anything you ask We asked for tomatoes or salad for breakfast and they happily agreed. Very polite and they enjoy it important to pause. They decided to upgrade us to a suite without we ask, simply because they were able to and initiative. We took the new building is very pleasant with stunning views and a completely new equipment and very comfortable. We had no problem with parking free parking spaces .

Review 13:Would recommend adding a small workout facility as part of the spa.

Review 14:Fabulous hotel, beautiful facility with terrific grounds and lovely views. The staff is terrific, very friendly and very helpful. Nice restaurant, great breakfast options. One of the best overall stays we have had anywhere.

Review 15:The size of the single room is indeed very small. Some parts are not comfortable.

Review 16:Beautiful property with a rather good restaurant (and a long winelist!). Great vistas. Very professional and service-minded staff.

Review 17:I would rather they had charged me an extra 10Euros for the room and included use of the spa rather than expecting me to request use and pay extra 5Euros each person for its use.

Review 18:Very attentive waiters in the restaurant

Review 19:Being outside Trento there were limited dining options and a 40 minute walk in. A solution to this was walk in and 10 euro taxi back or spend the 10 euro's on extra gelato to fuel the climb!

Review 20:The location, though outside the town was spectacular with a view across the valley. The rooms were pleasant, the leisure facilities excellent event if there was a 5 euro charge per day per person. The breakfast and staff were outstanding.

Review 21:We come here often, and still the impression is super. Very professional staff, very nice rooms and wellness, excellent restaurant. Great place the stay !

Review 22:Fantastic hotel with 5 star service. Staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Dinner was excellent and very good value, try the gnocchi or cheese crêpes...delicious! Breakfast was super, lots of choice. We arrived late for breakfast 1st morning and waiters brought plates of cakes, cheese, eggs and bread with coffee despite having cleared away everything. Room lovely, clean and modern with big comfy bed. Can't recommend enough! Will stay again when in area. Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful stay.

Review 23:You need a car to get into Trento. It is quite tricky to find the hotel. You have to pay extra to use the pool.

Review 24:Very comfortable and quiet. Excellent dinners and breakfasts.

Review 25:Everything was just perfect ! Congrats to the team !

Review 26:Beautiful location, excellent restaurant with great wine choice, and super friendly and helpful staff

Review 27:Absolutely fantastic Place for a good price. Staff was exellent and very nice hotel in all. Rooms were very clean, nice old building and the restaurant had excellent food!

Review 28:Pillows were too hard for my taste . Shower was good but not great.

Review 29:Wonderful service people at the reception desk. A particularly wonderful and funny waiter in the dining room. A lovely outdoor setting for cocktails.

Review 30:The only issue I had was the AC did not cool the room well. However, the weather was unseasonably hot, so maybe it works OK in more normal temperatures.

Review 31:Loved it all, especially the pool and spa area. Restaurant was good with reasonable prices and excellent service. We received a bottle of wine as a gift when checking out!

Review 32:Our son is vegan and I asked if the rice and mushrooms were plain and without cheese or milk products. The waiter confirmed there were no dairy products in the dish. The dish had a cheese sauce base to it and he was unable to eat much of it. When I mentioned that it had a cheese base and we had checked before ordering it, the waiter just shrugged his shoulders and took it away. There was a corporate event on and we got the feeling that we were not important and they wanted to hurry us out of the restaurant. (I asked in both Italian and English so there was no misunderstanding!).

Review 33:Nice hotel in lovely surroundings.

Review 34:Sadly there were no bath robes and we didnt get a third pair of flip flops for our kid. The rooms are kind of dim as well (2 small circular lights on the ceiling)

Review 35:The rooms in the annexes are OK but don't have the charm of those in the main Villa

Review 36:We came for a second night after we slept in a room in one of the rooms in the new annex which was OK but not more than that. We decided to stay the night after without booking it in advance. We arrived quite late on Saturday evening, the reception lady offered us a premium classic room in the main villa at the same price, which was wonderful. The staff is very warm, hospitable and helpful. Breakfast is great. We want to thank Michael - one of the breakfast waiters, who was outstanding. He took really good care of us in both breakfasts and we saw that he did it for all the guests he attended!!! We were also offered site visit card who was really useful and saved us a lot of money. The Relais Villa Madruzzo, leaved to its good rating.

Review 37:quite hard to find without a GPS (but then my fault if I didn't have one)

Review 38:Make sure your room is in the more comfy wing - a big plus ! Great view from the balcony !

Review 39:Rooms not huge, but adequate.

Review 40:The hotel is just out of Trento on a hill so has wonderful views overlooking the city. The staff are fantastically friendly, the spa and pool (5 euros) are great and the restaurant is excellent (not cheap, but excellent value for money). Breakfast is vast and good. Wi-Fi good. Very clean well furnished rooms.

Review 41:Dining was a bit hit and miss. Some courses were good but others quite disappointing. Service was hit and miss with the exception of the younger waiters who were customer focused.

Review 42:We stayed in the Belvedere wing. The room was lovely and the pool area was excellent.

Review 43:2 km out of Trento - so you need a Taxi or car.

Review 44:Located on a hill overlooking Trento in a lovely old family stately home. Rooms are clean and good. Facilities are great, especially the Spa (10 euros per person - Pool, sauna, Turkish Steam, sun beds etc). Breakfast was very good. The restaurant is not cheap, but is excellent value for money; one of the very best restaurants in Trento. The staff are all brilliant. Highly recommended !

Review 45:The first supper we had left much to be desired. The best part was watching the waiters scamper about accomplishing nothing. Food was not to the standard we had become accustomed to after 2 weeks in Italy. Front desk staff were not helpful at all.

Review 46:The physical facilities were excellent. The property is in a spectacular setting. The breakfast was extensive and well displayed.

Review 47:The hotel has a lot of history and the rooms are quite impressive, with a large bathroom. Love having lots of windows that we could open for fresh air. Bed was firm, water hot, wifi Ok at first but stopped during the night and could not reconnect. There is a restaurant in the hotel where we had some lunch on arrival and it was the only place we had to pay a cover charge per person for a very average salad, no dressing available other than oil and vinegar. Also very busy with staff running around which was quite unsettling, they were a little invasive and it was difficult to relax. So we ate dinner in town. Breakfast was average too. Parking is available on site, 4klm if you wish to walk to town centre, downhill going in but uphill all the way back! Overall it was OK, just not wow!

Review 48:At first I was offered a mansard room in the old villa. It's built into the attic and is lit only by a skylight and tiny window. The room I did get in the newer part has less character but was functional and had a beautiful view of the valley below. The gravel parking area below and driveway had crunching rocks under tires during the night, disturbed sleep. (The reception has heard this one before). And to use the swimming pool and hot tub should not be an extra charge.

Review 49:The old villa is beautiful and full of character. Peek in at the circular old chapel, now a private dining room. Staff was uniformly skilled, helpful, and friendly. Dinner on a set menu of regional specialties was good value and enjoyable, as was the local wine (Nociola) for a reasonable price. Breakfast was abundant and good quality but oddly laid out between two of the three dining rooms.

Review 50:Difficult to find. In Trento the directions are not clear and a poor phone signal did not help either.

Review 51:The quality of the meals (dinner and breakfast), professionalism of staff and overall comfort

Review 52:Most of the staff were delightful & went out of their way to assist, the room, which was upgraded, was spacious & comfortable with appropriate decor, the restaurant superb, location/view amazing. Unfortunately we were only in residence for one night. Fabulous!

Review 53:This is a lovely place to stay. The staff are excellent, the food is very good, the rooms are very well appointed, prices are very reasonable - even the minibar has sensible pricing! This, combined with an historic old building and sensitively built new accommodation in an idyllic setting makes this place special.

Review 54:Restaurant food a little "packaged", very firm (hard) bed

Review 55:Friendly and attentive staff, picturesque location, good facilities, clean, spacious and well equiped rooms

Review 56:Even though the location is not in the centre of Trento, staying on the hills was lovely with great views and serenity. The breakfast was a fantastic spread! Also had a fantastic spa and pool area.

Review 57:Nothing.

Review 58:Everything. The Relais Villa Madruzzo was beautiful. The room, the pool, the breakfast, everything was wonderful. The staff was the best! We enjoyed our short stay immensely.

Review 59:I HAVE VISITED VILLA MADRUZZO FIRST TIME,PLACE IS VERY NICE.RESTAURANT IS EXCELLENT, STAFF IN RISTORANT IS VERY HELPFULL,GOOD MANAGERE.GREAT SERVICE AND GREAT FOOD.EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT.GRAZIE

Review 60:I stayed here before and this time my room was a bit small, with little room to open my suitcase (wouldn't fit on the suitcase rack).

Review 61:Breakfast is always a treat! And dinner is also very good.

Review 62:that we had to leave after 3 days to return to home

Review 63:staff service and attitude the beautifull "old" style restaurant old has to be read as luxurious and high comfort our modern art room with beautifull view the staff hospitality positively influences the guests value exceeds the money

Review 64:We were unable to use our foreign (USA) electrical adapters for recharging some of our items. The hotel staff provided one for us as well, and it did not fit the receptacles either, so our laptop lost all power eventually. We had hoped to enjoy a delicious dinner, only to learn that the restaurant was not open at all the day we arrived.

Review 65:The Relais Villa Madruzzo provided a quiet, restful venue after a long day's travel. Our room was modern, well-equipped, and offered a delightful view. Upon our arrival, the staff graciously prepared a meat and cheese platter and offered us a glass of wine, despite the restaurant being closed that day.

Review 66:The facilities like swimming pool/spa are open from 8AM to 9PM, but as I was attending a local conference I couldn't make any of those times. Likely not an issue for normal guests of the hotel...

Review 67:Great place. Nice rooms, excellent food, friendly staff.

Review 68:Parking place was sometimes full, but this was not a big deal.

Review 69:Large, modern and quiet rooms (in new building). Very good dining possibilities against reasonable prices. Extensive breakfast. All staff is multi lingual and very kind. Dolomite mountains and Garda lake both within a one hour drive.

Review 70:Everything! The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and very comfortable, and the restaurant was excellent. And last but not least, it was quiet!

Review 71:We arrived by car. I don't think it is suitable for travelerswithout a car.

Review 72:Very fine rooms. Great facilities and cheap, pool with sauna for only 5euros a day. Very good breakfast, and very helpful staff. We had freeparking space in the public area (you can also rent a private space for10 eur per day)

Review 73:Staff could be more organized. It is not a good idea to refer guests to the tourist info point when they ask about free time activities in the area.

Review 74:We enjoyed the location and the comfort of this hotel. Excellent food in the restaurant and the jacuzzi with a breathtaking view of the mountains is a nice extra.

Review 75:No complaints but a small deception, given the high standard of this hotel: the cheap quality baguette and shelf bread from bread basket should be replaced with that great hard crust fresh made bread and focaccia which is famous in Italian cuisine- the best I ever tasted.

Review 76:Absolutely loved the room, great staff, very professional and helpful. Good location with excellent view if you take a room in the new building; Great food, had dinner on three out of five nights there- no complaints about serving or the taste of the food , great breakfast too; Very high standard of cleaning Waitresses and manager are all the time around, from dawn to dusk asking you if everything is fine; Excellent value for money.

Review 77:It would be great with some more electric sockets in the room

Review 78:Nice location if you arrive with car, nice garden and the breakfast is amongst the best! Great staff and really nice rooms, especially in the mainbuildning!

Review 79:Beautiful estate with a mix of classic style and contemporary facilities. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Make sure you try the hotel restaurant... the food features thoughtful interpretations of local specialties and is very well executed at a reasonable price.

Review 80:We stayed in the contemporary rooms and they are comfirtable and stylish. The breakfast and lunch we had in the restaurant were good quality and well priced.

Review 81:The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast on the terrace was a daily delight. Trento is a lovely small city surrounded by mountains.

Review 82:The air conditioning in our room wasn't up to the hot weather we had one day. Although in a beautiful location, the hotel is pretty far from the city, involving lots of driving.

Review 83:The hotel is in a park-like setting, away from the city. The meals are super, and they have an excellent local wine list. We enjoyed large rooms in the old part of the villa, with antique furniture. The front desk was very helpful.

Review 84:Nothing at all - we didn't want to leave.

Review 85:Very comfortable and spotlessly clean rooms. Facilities for making hot drinks in rooms and fresh fruit. Excellent staff - very helpful and kind. Lovely restaurant with delicious food and knowledgable waiters who are happy to speak English. Verandah to eat in with nice atmosphere, when the weather permits. Proper coffee served at breakfast!

Review 86:Leaving

Review 87:Room was very clean and comfortable, only booked a standard double, but we had a sitting area, two tv's two mini bars and two matching shower/toilet rooms. All the staff were courteous welcoming and very helpfull.

Review 88:This was my second time at Villa Madruzzo and I had another wonderful stay. This place is exceptional. The hotel offers modern facilities as well as classic elegance. The room, bathroom, spa and hotel facilities are fantastic and cleanliness is remarkable. The owner is extremely attentive, professional, and kind. The staff are also courteous and friendly. Everyone at the hotel goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. I took the opportunity of trying other options from the restaurant menu that I hadn’t had on my first visit and everything was exquisite. Overall excellent experience!

Review 89:Only that we will only be able to visit rarely.

Review 90:Simply the best hotel we've stayed in anywhere. We returned to Trento specifically to stay here after we stayed in the hotel in 2009 and found it bigger and even better. The service, attention to detail, decor and comfort levels made it an unforgettable experience. The indoor swimming pool and spa area is superb and the restaurant is excellent.

Review 91:Location

Review 93:I've been in the new building, beautiful bedroom but with a bed without traditional sheets, only a quilt

Review 94:breakfast wifi parking SPA area staff

Review 95:I really liked the SPA area. It's really a nice place to relax after a long working day. Also the restaurant is one of this hotel plus

Review 96:Location, view, food

Review 97:Could provide a complimentary bottle or water (or two) with the room. Not that expensive!

Review 98:Very friendly and helpful Staff. Very big room

Review 99:The property was a bit difficult to find.

Review 100:Very good value for money, including a discount for dining in house.
