Reviews for Mohammed Mutlak Camp

Review 1:Our stay with Mohammed and his team was the highlight to our entire trip to Jordan. They organised everything smoothly and were very flexible with the content of our tour (we opted for a 2 hour 4WD ride and a camel trek back to Rum Village). Brilliant hosts and lots of lovely food around the camp fire. The best location of all the camps we passed. We couldn't have hoped for a better and more welcoming experience.

Review 2:Nothing

Review 3:If you are looking for experience of the pure nature, this is it! I will never forget the starry sky and Shisha time! Food and tea are both excellent! Tent inside is a little shabby, but you know, it is in the middle of a desert! Remember to take a shower before the sunset, otherwise it would be cold and dark.

Review 4:I liked everything in the camp but we weren't informed about the 5JD each to pay at the entrance of the protected area, guys there are cheeky and try to get more creating you. But the camp was cool.

Review 5:Kind People and nice food. The sky from the camp is the most amazing spectacle ever. We were lucky, there was no moon and millions of stars were on top.

Review 6:Outstanding experience! This family run camp offers not only accommodation in simple tents located in the vast desert absolutely out of all civilization with breathtaking sunset view but also full day desert experience with local guide in jeep, on camel or by walking. In the evening they prepare for you traditional bedouin dinner. You will sit by the fire drinking tea, listening to traditional music and talking with the hosts and other guests. You want to escape from reality? Go for it!

Review 7:I personally don't like riding in the back of a pickup truck and would have hoed there were other types of desert vehicles with back seats.

Review 8:The experience was wonderful! The accommodations were comfortable and the meals were good.

Review 9:Great location, friendly staff, and our kids (3 and 4) had a blast playing in the sand and taking the jeep tour. It is a bedouin camp, so it isn't supposed to be luxury, but then again meals were cooked for you and your needs were met.

Review 10:The staff was great, ride with camels to the camp is available, but optional. The cook was a very funny egiptian, food was great. 4x4 trip around desert with stops at interesting places. Never seen so many stars before. Beautiful place

Review 11:Maybe they shall make us pro actively aware how precious water is there, i.e. that we shall spare water from the toilets, and showering is not a necessity.

Review 12:- Serious and honest camp site management - Clean toilets - Comfortable beds (one person bed) - Pleasant staff - Evening around the fire and food excellent - We stayed 2 days, had arranged price before and we had no bad surprises - Water in bottle on demand, free - This review is provided in the context that it is a camping site in the desert, not a hotel. For a camping site, we really liked it.

Review 13:since i only stay at this tent for one night, i perfer to stay at camp in the second day morning rather than leave for jeep tour and never return to the dessert.based on this, i didnt choose mohammed's jeep tour, which he quoted me 70jd for 3hour tour, which is also relevant high.then, when i left the camp to the nearby village for a texi to another city, he charged me 15jd. otherwise, he would not have brought me to village, which is only 15mins away from his camp. it was very unpleasant stay,i would not recommend this camp. cause many of these people deaperated for money!

Review 14:unique experience in dessert.

Review 15:Not anything to do with the camp itself but there are a number of men at the "visitors centre" who will try to get you to pay a 5JOD entrance fee - this is a total scam.

Review 16:The staff are incredible and went out of their way to make me feel welcome. I don't know if it was just the group of people who were there that night or if the atmosphere is always so great but this was bar far my best night in Jordan.

Review 17:My three nights in Mohhammed Mutlak Camp was perfect. Clean nice arranged camp, everithing there you need. Nice food cooked daly fresh by the camp cook (Thanks again). One day did a guided hiking with the local Guide (Mohammed). Was really worth the price. About price: There where no surpises in proces at the and, no pushing during the stay to spend more money etc. The guys who take care of the camp and tours are keep im Mind as friends. Hope you all read that and like to say a big thank you to the crew of camp mohammed mutlak. Hope to visit you soon again. There is still a lot to see in Wadi Rum. Best wishes for all of you.

Review 18:It's really an unforgettable experience in Wadi Rum. The camp is in deep desert of Wadi Rum. You can see the sunset directly out of your camp. The view outside the camp is excellent. The guide is really nice. He is not overenthusiastic to the tourists but will explain detailed if you ask questions. His English is good. The people in the camp is also warmhearted. Arabian tea and a traditional Bedouin food are delicious. We book a double room and one day tour including 3 meals for two people. It only cost 110JD.

Review 19:Staff were super friendly and helpful. Make sure to book extra excursions with them becaus it is worth while. Food was fantastic and camp was cleaner then most hotels I stayed at during my trip.

Review 20:Shower was basic, only taps, no showerhead, but to be expected for the location.

Review 21:Great sunset/sunrise viewing area, bring your own alcohol if you like. An intimate experience, especially in low summer season. Great jeep ride, private tour, around 3 hours. All the hosts were extremely accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. We even had special desserts brought to celebrate a birthday in our group.

Review 22:Nothing major at all. Like all such camps, everyone gets up too early for our liking. Mainly because the tents become unbearably hot once the sun is up. Also, being in the Wadi Rum protected area means that you are reliant on the camp to transport you to / from the main village which feels a bit restrictive.

Review 23:All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful, especially the tour guide who was very laid back and we had a lot of laughs with. The facilities are basic (you are after all in a desert camp) but functional. The food was great and the rooms (well - tents) were spacious. No one minded us bringing in our own alcohol.

Review 24:Open fire in the communal tent with ventilation meant that we all smelt of smoke for what seemed like a week!
