Reviews for Sun City Camp
Review 1:The planks set up to cross the sand to get to the rooms kept tripping me.
Review 2:The staff called the day after I made the booking to make sure I knew how to get there. When the found out I was an American woman traveling alone in a rental car, they called to check on me when I hadn't arrived by sun set. The room was great, the dinner was awesome, with plenty of vegetarian choices.
Review 3:No snacks available for sale.
Review 4:Wonderful location with the opportunity to explore. Staff were friendly but professional. Very tasty food considering the resorses the chefs were working with.
Review 5:mattress very soft, food can definitely be improved in terms of variety and quantity, especially for breakfast. Tents are very close to each other so it can be very annoying if you have noisy neighbors
Review 6:Excellent to have private toilet and shower, easy to reach with sedan car but still it feels you are very secluded
Review 7:The check in was mentioned as 13:00 but we arrived at 14:00 and there was no lunch available for us . We left from Petra little after breakfast at 9 n after travelling through the hot weather we arrived during lunch time and they said they don't have lunch for us and gave us Arabic bread with cheese . The single tent double tent and triple tent r all the same size . There was no power until 17:30 and we were asked to sit in the common area until then as the tents are too hot to sit in . No fans in the common area either n it was uncomfortably hot during first week of May. Free wi Fi was available only after 17:30 n in the common areas . The other camps had clearly mentioned their facilities but this was supposed to be a luxury camp and we spent the maximum during our entire stay to spend one night here . It's understandable that it's in the middle of the wadi but least they can do is mention that lunch will not be available and also no electricity until 17:30. We decided to leave and they did not charge us .
Review 8:Excellent experience, very well equipped for a desert camp. All people in the camp are very nice and will go the extra-mile to please and make you enjoy your stay. Just make sure that you start charging camera batteries/phones or the like as soon as you arrive as the lights out is at 10:45 pm tops and generator is going to be switched off. You still have light in the tent but no more power.
Review 9:It was extremely cold in the room at night.
Review 10:The room looked beautiful - all you'd want to stay in. It was relaxed, comfortable and enjoyable. The activities were great to do. I loved seeing the sun rise on my camel ride no matter how cold it was.
Review 11:The peace and tranquility of the desert and the silence particularly at night are amazing. The staff at the camp brought us extra matresses so we could sleep outside under the stars which was wonderful (although the desert does get pretty cold at night). The staff are all funny and charming, and the operation is run with courtesy and efficiency. We particularly admired the way all the people running the camp managed to combine being open, warm and friendly with maintaining their own authenticity and dignity.
Review 12:We had an amazing experience in the SunCity camp . Rooms were comfortable and had baths inside . Great food served for dinner and breakfast. Drivers are available for a ride in the desert of Wadi Rum.
Review 13:Wonderful camp in jordan.great staying. We had an excellent dinner (make sure not to eat before because there is a lot of good food) and then they put a fire pit with some music. One thing I was really astonished was the night view with millions of stars. Living all my life in big cities I could not believe what I saw.
Review 14:Location,hospitality Mr.Tareq gentleman & all other staff polite always smiling welcoming all the guests' delicious food zarb.I advice for visiting Sun City camp ⛺ Wadi Rum.
Review 15:Just amazing. I've been there once and definitely will do it again. loved the whole atmosphere, tents, food. I strongly recommend to give it a try and experience the unforgettable visit there ! The dinner was really yummy. At night there was an oud player, after we finished dinner w had our tea staring at the stars there the whole thing was really awesome. Next day we went for a walk then put our blankets on and sit next to the fire waiting for the breakfast which was also good. I absolutely enjoyed every second there its simply a Jordanian atmosphere very relaxing and mind clearing area. The service also was great everybody was very helpful actually.
Review 16:sun city camp were really amazing and beyond what I expected : so beautiful landscapes, incredible colors (I had never seen such a pure, blue sky before), peaceful atmosphere, etc. The guides were very nice and competent. We kept asking them questions, which they answered kindly; they are concerned about making people discover their environment. They cooked for us delicious meals and shared their tea and chicha ☺The night in the camp was a weird moment (in a positive sense !) : so quiet…It was in July, but not too hot. Prices are quite moderate and there are various formulas (camel ride, hiking, etc.), described on the website, so one can choose what he/she wants to do. I would recommend it to anyone yearning for peace.Thank you very much Sun city camp .
Review 17:Sun City Camp was everything we hoped it would be, and better. Everything was superb and well worth the price. We arranged for a two-day, two-night jeep excursion that also involved a little trekking. Our guide, Mohamed, was simply amazing. He was informative, kind, and had a wry sense of humor, too. It was a pleasure to spend time with him. The best part of our time was those daytime explorations throughout Wadi Rum-- but our return to camp every night was welcome and relaxing. The food was top notch, too, and those stars in the nighttime sky? They can't be beat. Our time in Wadi Rum was a true highlight of our Jordan adventure, and I'd love to return.HIghly recommended.
Review 18:People here are really nice, the camp rooms are clean, and the food is great and locally.made and served in front your eyes. The views in suncity camp is quite nice, too. The staff can drive the trucks/jeeps into the desserts, where you can do a whole lots of crazy things.A bit more details: We were here for 2 days in the camp. 1st day was terrible weather, so nothing really happend. The staff tried hard to find things for us to do, such as making fire and singing/dancing in the camp living room, making traditional chicken meals for dinner, and taking us to watch the star tracks by night. 2nd day, we were driving all over wadi rum, climbinging the Um Fruth bridge, seeing the mushroom stone, discovering ancient graffittis, etc etc.Highly recommended Suncity camp
Review 19:I had a wonderful tour and overnight stay with Sun City Camp . The jeep tour went for 6 hours (half day) and took in all of the major sites, my guide was very knowledgeable about the countryside and history. The camp is very well set out, with flushing toilets and very nice deluxe 'tents'. The dinner provided was delicious. It was a highlight of my stay in Jordan sitting under the stars with my Bedouin guides smoking nargila and listening to me talk and sing songs. Highly recommend this tour and this camp.
Review 20:The communication with said couldn’t be easier, he answered all our e-mails right away, helping to arrange taxis from our Petra hotel to the camp and from the camp to Aqaba at a fair price. The facilities of the camp are excellent. We booked a half day tour and really enjoyed the time with our wonderful guide Mohamed. The dinner was delicious, the breakfast too. We would never forget the time with the Bedouins around the fire, their heart touching music, the stories shared by mohamed, the million stars and the quietness and majesty of the dessert. Thank you said .mohamed.Lena and the entire team!!!HIgly recommended this camp.
Review 21:The owner (Mr.Mohammed )from Sun City Camp are friendly and always at your disposal. It was a pleasure to share time spent in Wadi Rum with them.If we would return to Jordan one day...we would not hesitate a moment to book some another arrangement from their big offer. Higly recommended sun city camp
Review 22:nothing
Review 23:The best camp in jordan.Tareq was very accommodating of this unusual desert schedule, took me on a lovely tour of some great desert sights, and then because I was the only person in his camp that day, I joined another camp nearby that had only one guest for a joint dinner that was really delicious. Tareq wanted to make sure I was happy with everything, and even brought me beer before dinner. One thing that I really appreciated was that Tareq never tried to push extra expenses on me. I had agreed to a price beforehand (which was a very good price) and he never suggested anything would cost more, not even when the trip to Aqaba ended up requiring some extra work to help me get a ferry ticket before going to the boat. Tareq is a great Cam Manager and I highly recommend his camp.
Review 24:Cash payment only for accommodation. No credit card facilities.
Review 25:Interesting desert stay and experience. The staff were friendly and the food was enjoyable.
Review 26:Due to desert conditions, the rooms were really hot during the day, however you need to expect that you are experiencing bedouine life. We were not able to do the ballon ride as promised.
Review 27:The ambient was very romantic and got to experience desert life.
Review 28:Great camp , I loved it . The facilities were extremely very good , rarely to find in the desert , it was a 5* camp ... The staff were really friendly and helpful .
Review 29:when we tried to check out, they would not accept credit cards, despite it being stated clearly that they do. They wanted cash payment, which we did not have. It took awhile before they finally resolved it by declaring we were no-shows, and getting it paid through Booking.com.
Review 30:our first night there, when we were almost the only guests, we got the royal treatment. But the second night, when there was a crowd, the service was middling, the food looked recycled, and everything went downhill.
Review 31:No wi-fi available and no credit card payment possible like announced on Booking. Very very very hot on summer!! I suggest coming another time of the year and book the room through an agency and not directly through Booking.com.
Review 32:Tends with shower and excelent food.
Review 33:Wifi
Review 34:Dinner was amazing, location, peacefulness, staff
Review 35:The room we slept in do not look like the photo as advertized.
Review 36:Dinner was excellent!
Review 37:Nothing
Review 38:The camp is very nice, It has a good location to make excursions and is easy to reach when you arrive. We appreciated to have our own bathroom with shower and hot water, cleaned towels and you have the electricity also. Our bed was very confortable with a soft blanket. We have eaten the best lamb in our life but the cuisine in general is great! We have smoked scisha in front of the fire during the night. The staff is very kind they try to satisfy every requests you make. We had an awessome excursion in wadi rum that is pure nature and beauty. It is amazing!
Review 39:Everything perfectly organized. Trip through the desert on camels, 4WD car. Rock bridges, scenery, sunset. the camp is very comfortable & romantic. Amazing starry sky and sunrise from under a nearby rocks . Great hospitality and good food.
Review 40:extremely dirty, really bad choices for vegetarian food, flies on the food, bad coffee-tea, staff very young and not well trained, rooms were filthy, bedsheets not changed after the previous guest left, hair near the sink, and whole night we had headache due to bad smell coming from the toilet. the wardrobe had an inch of dust on the shelves so did the whole room. shower was not working and only a drizzle of luke warm water was coming out of the tap. lot of staples lying around dangerously in the bathroom.Toilet seat was wobbly. the manger just sat there smoking instead of dealing with the customer complaints and let the untrained staff deal with it. most of the facilities advertised on your website were absent like wifi etc. There was no hygiene and zero entertainment at night. we were traumatised after spending only one night in the camp. never again.
Review 41:the location
Review 42:Unfortunately was the water not warm at all. The Train line passes close by the camp. Luckily trains did not pass too frequently as you assume by the noise that they almost run through the tent. :-)
Review 43:each tent (2 or 3 beds) do have an own wc, bath which is extremely comfortable especially for wadi rum and ist climate..
Review 44:The very noisy train passing by 4 times in the night at less than 1km of camp
Review 45:The quick reply to emails prior to arrival The food The service Quality of accomodation in remote location Kindness of staff Manager availibility
Review 46:There were a lot of things that is said that it had that it did not. 1. Wifi - NONE 2. Hot water 24 hours - No, we even tried different times of day. 3. It list a coffee shop, there was none. 4. No robes or slippers in the tent or luggage racks. 5. Close to a rail line. 6. They shut off the electricity during the night and it doesn't come back on till around lunchtime. So no electric for mornings. 7. Had to pay for beverages with dinner. They should have been included in the price of the tent.
Review 47:The food was great, it was in a peaceful location. The location is about 10 min drive to the gate of Wadi Rum to if you want to stay in Wadi Rum reservation this isn't for you. Rum Village is another 5-10 min from the main gate. They are refurbishing the bedding. So maybe the new tents will have the items that is listed. However, ours did not.
Review 48:Great camp in wadi rum with some facilities that don't exist in other camps in wadi rum , we enjoyed the dinner , it is best out there ... We have joined their tour by 4x4 it was really amazing
Review 49:There is hot water at the tent just few. Hours during the day, cause they use solar heating system. We went there during the winter and the nights are freezing!! We had to face a extremely cold shower!! Be prepare for that!!
Review 50:The camp is very well located, the staff is very very helpful, the experience trying the food, the shisha, sleeping in the desert is perfect there! The jeep tour guide Abdala was amazing!!
Review 51:Wadi Rum is amazing. Staff were the best and the traditional meal was excellent. Your guide Mosa wAs brilliant.
Review 52:Generators a bit close to the tents, facilities a bit smelly.
Review 53:Beautiful wadi, nice comfort for desert conditions. Helpful and friendly stuff.
Review 54:No music or camp fire experience after dinner.
Review 55:The staff. The private bathrooms.
