Reviews for Wadi Rum Discovery
Review 1:There were no negatives worth mentiioning.
Review 2:Everything about Wadi Rum Discovery (WRD) is exceptional. Choose WRD over any other experience and will be happy that you did.
Review 3:I cant compliment enough the staff (brothers) and the campsite. It is the perfect choice for your stay. Campsite is clean, warm and looks lovely. The brothers are funny, make jokes and they lighted up our day. We had an amazing tour, designed according our wishes and basically saw and experienced what we wanted. The price is really good and the dinner was excellent, one of the best I had in Jordan. The family is very honest, never tried to "rip" us off and they were genuinely trustworthy. I would recommend this camp because of its location, service and almost a guarantee you will be there alone to enjoy ;)
Review 4:The camp was sheltered by an amazing gargantuan rock feature which allowed for the customary changes in desert conditions. Comfortable traditional style Bedouin camp with access to running water. Hot water to come as they fix up their solar panels. Family-run business which takes good care of their guests
Review 5:The owner is a great person with a lot of respect for the guests n is willing to go out of his way to help.. the location is great n considering that the camp is in the middle of a desert, the facilities are really good... Overall ... A high value for money..
Review 6:Having just returned from a 10 day independent tour of Jordan with its wonderful history and charming people - a night spent in the desert at Wadi Rum was the highlight.
Review 7:I have nothing but good memories of my stay at wadi rum discovery. Fromthe great communication and help to get to Wadi Rum to the two nights atthe camp and a whole day off riding a camel, it has been such arewarding experience, I will most definitely be back at Ayesh's campnext time I am in Jordan.I have been at Ayesh's camp in mid-january for two nights. I felt taken care of since the beginning, with a good email communication for booking my stay and answer my questions. I was travelling alone from Tel Aviv via Eilat and Ayesh offered to organize a driver for me from the Aqaba border to Wadi Rum. Ahmed, the driver, was a nice fellow and called me right when I was passing the border to ask me where I was and then helped me finding a working ATM in Aqaba before heading to Wadi Rum and meeting the guy that would drive me from the village to the camp. Ask for him to Ayesh if you need a ride from the border, or even if you are in Aqaba and do not want to take the bus from there! I spent the late afternoon walking near the camp and relaxing after the long trip, enjoyed the dinner with the other guests at the camp and ended up sleeping under .stars
Review 8:We had a wonderful time for 1 day and 1 night In Wadi-Rum with the a great support of our guide Suliman and the hospitality of Ayesh. They both spoke very well English and had an enormous knowledge of the area and the local population. By jeep we visited canyons, sand dunes, water reservoir and a beautiful sunset.
Review 9:Ayesh can arrange a trip tailored to your needs - 4x4 ride, mountain climbing & trekking. Having read other reviews about the noise from other camps and even from the roads - the experience at Ayesh's camp is a world away from all of this, and you will not hear another sound......... we had the luxury of being his only guests that night and felt incredibly privileged.
Review 10:The staff: 2 young bedouins boys which don't like being there. One don't speek english, and the other stay all the night seing vídeos on his iphone Not very clean and degraded installation
Review 11:Localization Food was good, prepared in the ground
Review 12:One should take some light for rooms to make sure no spiders or any thing before go to sleep. Also some cooler, because there was no cold water
Review 13:Staff is good. Clean. Very good tea. Delivered what promised.
Review 14:We would have wished for the bathroom facilities to be a little more clean. The water pressure wasn't great. But we thought this was understandable considering the location of the camp, in the middle of the desert. So this was both very minor to us. The desert experience is definitely worth a mediocre shower :)
Review 15:We really had a fantastic experience in the desert, greatly thanks to this camp; it's wonderful staff, great location and nice atmosphere. Being picked up from the wadi rum village parking lot worked out great, since we had local SIM card and the owners called us to ask when they could pick us up. The sunset 4wd excursion we decided to take was very fun and reasonably priced, although it doesn't seem much different from what other camps offer. The tents were comfortable and especially the communal spaces of tents, carpets and pillows were nice. The best part for us were the guys running the place. The cook, driver and guide were all so so friendly and fun that we spent a few hours sitting around and chatting before we went on our sunset drive. Dinner was also excellent, even for vegetarians like us!
Review 16:The room was hot though outside was cool. The toilet was really stinky. I know it is a camp but it definitely could have been better if some cleaning was done.
Review 17:They picked us up from Rum Village to the camp even we were late (9.30pm) and even brought us to buy some food as we were starving. They also organize desert tours.
Review 18:The uncertainty of costs: extras are always behind the corner! We spent 25 jod for the jeep transfert from the village to the camp: since there is no other alternative for reaching these camps, this additional cost should have been mentioned since the beginning
Review 19:The landscape and the friendliness of the bedouins
Review 20:IT WAS GREAT AT ALL.
Review 21:Wadi Rum the highlight of Jordan trip.
Review 22:Wadi Rum great place and I will. comeback again ib few weeks.
Review 23:Don't mind basic sanitation, but it would be nice if the toilet would be cleaned every now and then.
Review 24:Location is wonderful!!!
Review 25:Delicious traditional dinner, kind and nice staff, water toilets and showers (in the desert!!), amazing stars and scenery
Review 26:nothing I could think of
Review 27:the personal touch, the serenity and the location
Review 28:Great desert camping Foods and staff wonderful.
Review 29:Jeep tour Camels ride Dinner Bedouin people
Review 30:NOTHING BUT IT IS CAMPING ASTARS.AND VERY BASIC.
Review 31:Dinner, Jeep tour, Breakfast and Location.
Review 32:Ahmed, our guide tour is the best!
Review 33:Very friendly hosts. Location is simply spectacular and accommodation and food is good for a desert camp.
Review 34:Very friendly staff. Dinner was great. Music and dancing after dinner was lovely, too.
Review 35:No proper toilets. No showers.
Review 36:the people in charge of the place where extremely nice, taught us about their lives and tradition. The atmosphir in the camp is amazing, very intimate and cosy. Dinner and brakefast were good as well. We took the trip the next day with these guys and it was enjoyable.
Review 37:Nothing. I had a wonderful experience but, if you're used to 5 star comforts, stay in a resort in Aqaba and come for a day trip!
Review 38:The whole thing was a fabulous experience. The tents are comfortable (given that this is a camp in the desert), the traditional food in the evening amazing and the hosts wonderful. Thanks to Mohammed and Ayesh and the others for a memorable stay. Sitting round the campfire watching for shooting stars is worth the hardship of basic toilet and washing facilities. When the phone connections went down and he couldn't call for a taxi to take me to Aqaba, Mohammed found one of his friends in the village to take me. That's service!
Review 39:This is a camp and not a hotel and as long as you understand this you should be in for a treat. The location is superb and the staff go out of their way to make sure you have a memorable stay and get a real taste of the bedouin culture with its unrivaled hospitality and the best experience of Wadi Rum. Very good value for money. Do remember to take a torch!
Review 40:I went with my friends in mid April. It was the perfect time to visit Wadi Rum. The camp site really was a definitely a plus for our experience. The hosts are very friendly, genuine, and hospitable. They absolutely enjoyed having conversations with us! Definitely a place worth going back to!
Review 41:It could be an off putting experience for people who do not like insects as there are quiet a few in the area at night - but its part and parcel of the stay!
Review 42:The staff was very hospitable and was really courteous. The setting was perfect with a mountain in the backdrop and clean tents and washroom facilities. The food was ok but the staff made our day by being very courteous and inviting.
Review 43:The bathroom facility can be improved.
Review 44:My third visit with that team. The camp was improved, both location and the facilities. The dinner was excellent as usual. Muhammad our guide is not only very good at his work but is also an extremely pleasant person. The whole experience in Wadi Rum was a pleasure.
Review 45:The staff was super welcoming and friendly. Is possible to make a deal for dinner, breakfast, accomodation and 4x4 tour for very good price. Environment, scenery was excellent, you sleep in the middle of the Wadi Rum desert. Eid was our guide and he was a very nice company. Excelent food. Bedouins are the best hosts ever! I highly recommend this bedouin camp for your visit to Wadi Rum, you won´t regret it!
Review 46:Wadi Rum is simply amazing, and Eid and his crew know how to bring out the best in it. My wife and I spent two days and a night and had two different guides (Ali and Eid), both of whom were a joy to travel with and really helpful (though one had pretty limited English).
Review 47:The resulting stomach upset was unfortunate but I guess could have happened anywhere. Thought the packed lunch option on the jeep tour was poor value as the tour finished in the village shortly after and we could have bought food from the shop ourselves and had food we wanted for less. There was a lot of waste. We were quoted 75 JD for the jeep tour to cover all participants. There were three of us initially so 25 each. Then two more joined but we were still charged the 25. We think it should have been reduced to 15.
Review 48:Stayed one night in the desert camp and took 4 hour jeep tour the following day. No pressure to take any of the tours and pretty good value by Jordanian standards. The camp is very comfortable and the boys stays with you in the evening for a bit of entertainment and friendly chat around the campfire. Camp food was very good but we did pick up mild food poisoning here unfortunately so stick to the well-cooked stuff. Wadi Rum is remarkable and the Discovery boys do a great job of showing you the place.
Review 49:we spent beatiful two days in desert gueided by Mohammed who (WadiRumdiscovery) First day - 4 bridges trip and second day hiking in Jebel Khash. We can recommend Eid for his friendship and open mind. We realy enjoeyd this trip in a amazing scenery.
Review 50:I have nothing but good memories of my stay at WADI RUM DISCOVERY. From the great communication and help to get to Wadi Rum to the one nights at the camp and a whole day off riding a camel, it has been such a rewarding experience, I will most definitely be back at Eid's camp next time I am in Jordan.
Review 51:Staff very friendly, helpful and always ready to take care of guests. Try their desert tours, both jeep and camels.
