Reviews for Kalbarri Reef Villas
Review 1:The Villa was not clean. There was dirt and rubbish under the cushions and underneath the couches. Towells had stains. The Fridge did not work and a foul odour in the Freezer. Had to wash all utensils, crockery and plates before using. BBQ area was filthy and unusable. Pool needed cleaning and the chairs/tables in Pool area were either broken or dirty. Outside Gardens was overgrown and dead in some areas. Outdoor Furniture under Gazebo's again either dirty or broken. Paid $190 per night which was absurd for the condition of the place.
Review 2:Rooms not clean. black mould on shower-curtain. crockery stained. Had to buy our own crockery and wine glasses. only two small pieces of soap available no shampoo or shower-caps. Noisy aircon. Tiles missing in pool area. Place looks old and is in desperate need of modernizing
Review 3:Kalbarri is a beautiful location and we spent most of it outside the "resort". Beds were comfortable
Review 4:The shower didn't have much flow and the water temperature was hard to control
Review 5:The staff were very friendly and everything was nice and clean. New aircon unit in the bedroom.
Review 6:wasn" t impressed with the cleaniness of our villa. cups were badly stained, tiles in the shower were dirty. cutlery& utensils were dirty.
Review 7:i liked that we were close to everything.
Review 8:Sign on fridge stating there is a $40 fee if cups/cutlery is not washed and rubbish removed from the bins. This put us off coming back, not because we want to leave a mess behind and we wouldn't but its not something we've never experienced an expectation like this before. Also, checked the mugs and they all had tea stains which suggests they don't check the the condition of the facilities prior to releasing the room to the next guests. This was also evident in the bathroom cabinets where i found old cotton buds.
Review 9:Good location, nice staff and fairly comfortable.
Review 10:Bit cold (it was winter) as louvre windows were a bit drafty-even when made sure they were fully closed. Oil heater downstairs didn't do much to cool the all tiled area but upstairs had excellent air con units to heat. The louvre's would be excellent in warmer weather.
Review 11:Beautiful grounds that make the apartment feel very private. Excellent location, literally up the road from the river front and a short walk to shops, restaurants, pub, etc. air con in rooms to heat and cool.
Review 12:Overall the stay was pretty poor. On arrival , which was expected the room was not at al welcoming. It could easily have been made so. The coffee table was on the couch. The dining chairs were on the table and wet when taken down. The place was dark and dingy. The bin was placed on the bottom stair step. The light switches were not easy to find so it was pretty dangerous initially. There was one small column heater for downstairs which was totally inadequate on a very cold day/night. The cups were filthy. No heating in the second bedroom.
Review 13:The villas were close to the beach
Review 14:Kitchen crockery, cupboards, equipment needed to be cleaned before using. Small 3 bar oil heater to heat a 80 m2 lounge/kitchen/dining area totally inadequate, especially in winter. We needed blankets in this area to keep warm. BBQ area only one of three gas burner working. We used a clothes dryer and was told quite rudely by the manager quote ' These dryers are out of bounds for guests and if I had known you were using them I would have taken the clothes out' end quote.
Review 15:Closeness to river, beach and facilities. Someone always there to answer any questions.
Review 16:Stair hazard for littlies and the bedrooms are upstairs. There was a baby gate, but only one so we had to keep moving it from the bottom to the top of the stairs and it only had one bolt. No bath.
Review 17:Easy to find, clean, parking out front, good shower and friendly, helpful staff.
Review 18:When we arrived there was no one in the office to greet us we had to wait until the manager got back from doing her shopping with her Daughter in tow.The rooms were very dark and dingy, there was no air con down stairs thank good we only needed to sleep there for one night .
Review 19:i was worried about the stairs and my nearly 2 yr old who loves to climb. The room we were in there was no tongs for the kitchen.
Review 20:the comfort enough space to move. Kitchen perfect Bed was a bit hard
Review 21:Excellent Location - Close to shops / Restaurants and the beach. Recommend the Black Rock Café for excellent food. Visit to Natures Window is a Must Do...
Review 22:Although the accommodation was dated, it was clean and roomy.
Review 23:The staff were friendly and helpful. The grounds offered a peaceful setting for relaxing with friends and family. Would definitely recommend to friends and family as it is value for money and a great place to suit the family.
Review 24:The building is old, we had stayed there in the 70's, not that we realised that until we arrived!!
Review 25:The location is good and the staff were very helpful. It was value for money.
Review 26:Villas very central to everything, and mostly within walking distance, we came up on the bus from Perth. It was 25 years ago when I last visited Kalbarri, and I was so pleased it has remained so unspoiled by big business. We are 2 mature aged Ladies and thoroughly enjoyed our 8 nights there, and the days....
Review 27:Office is closed from 12 - 2pm. There was a barking dog at the premises. Accommodation is a bit tired and could do with renovation, but is excellent value. For a one night stopover it was fine.
Review 28:The location was great -close to the beach and restaurants. The pool was excellent and so were the gardens. Staff were great, and was fantastic value for a one night stopover. We would go again.
Review 29:A bit dated with some mould in the bath walls, otherwise it is clean.
Review 30:Great value for the price. The kitchen is well outfitted. The pool is quite nice. Short stroll to the beach and IGA.
Review 31:Downstairs toilet a pain
Review 32:I liked the service the staff and the facilities
Review 33:All of it very nice
Review 34:Not very clean however OK for family beach holiday
Review 35:Upstairs balcony was good
Review 36:Clean comfortable good position
Review 37:Nice relaxed time
Review 38:Out dated, don't know how we where meant to do the dishes, no spare toilet paper.
Review 39:nothing
Review 40:everything
Review 41:Dead cockroaches and bathroom cleanliness
Review 42:Plenty of room
Review 43:Furniture on balcony could do with updating-table wobbly and old plastic chairs
Review 44:Proximity to the river
Review 45:Sands in lounge
Review 46:staff were fantastic. very helpful. location was brilliant. room was a good size
Review 47:Nothing to dislike.
Review 48:Spacious and comfortable - what a fab area! Would definitely return!
Review 49:The lounges in the villas are very dark. The villas are quite dated (1970's) and the kitchens and bathrooms, although entirely functional, need updating. The large bedrooms need a power point adjacent to the bed. Old spring mattresses need updating.
Review 50:The friendly and helpful staff, the generous size of the villas, cleanliness of the villas, the convenience of the location, the first floor balconies and the excellent swimming pool. Landscaping around the villas was also good.
Review 51:There wasn't anything we disliked. We were touring on holiday from Scotland and only wished we had booked more than 4 days.
Review 52:We have stayed self-catering all over the UK and Europe and always had to buy some last minute item except at Kalbarri Reef Villas. Not having to provide towels or bed linen was a major plus. Have never had so many items provided in a kitchen - anywhere!
Review 53:The cigarette butts under the outside furniture! Not ours, because we don't smoke. This is not a dislike but a suggestion: a lot of electricity could be saved if the wooden ceiling timbers in the lounge were painted in a light-reflective colour. The timber is beautiful, but needing the light on during the day is not very economical nor environmentally friendly.
Review 54:We stayed 5 nights and loved the closeness to the Murchison, sitting on the balcony among the palm trees and frangipani. We enjoyed Maureen's friendly and happy demeanour and Zaffie's (Maureen's chihuaua-x - we love dogs!) enthusiasm. The beds were excellent, rooms clean and everything we needed was there.
Review 55:Unit 6 stairwell light needs you to be working for safety reasons. New white dinner setting for kitchen would make it feel a bit more updated and a sandwich toaster would have been appreciated for simple lunches. Small changes only but would have tightened up first impression
Review 56:Loved the interaction and welcome by office manager Maureen. It had such a great vibe. Very comfortable and clean. Would not hesitate to stay again or recommend
Review 57:A spacious and comfortable stay in a 2 bedroom apartment located just off the Esplanade so quiet and restful location. The downstairs living area of the unit could be brightened up with modern use of colour and improved contemporary lighting.
Review 58:The decor was really daggy. It appeared to have been untouched since the seventies. The apartment would be so nice with some TLC. Drasticly in need of a make over.
Review 59:The apartment was located in lovely gardens. Car parking was excellent - close and secure. The view was pleasant.
Review 60:Not enough crockery ie only four dinner plates. Not enough wine glasses ie two glass, two plastic.
Review 61:Swimming Pool very good. Good location close to river foreshore and supermarket. Good air conditioning and ceiling fans. Pleasant tropical gardens and lawn surrounding villas.
Review 62:They said they had wifi but we had zero signal in villa 4. Pool hours are only up to 6:30pm which is very early in WA summer.
Review 63:Nice layout, good kitchen, lounge etc. Very clean rooms. Private garden out the window was cool too.
Review 64:Personal greeting and assistance during the period the electricity in Kalbarri failed. Kind and attentive staff. Would definitely stay again.
Review 65:Bathroom facilities adequate but need refurbishment
Review 66:Comfortable beds
Review 67:Value and location
Review 68:no upstairs bathroom.

Review 80:I loved the location and not forgetting very friendly locals they makeyou feel welcome,i will be going back.
Review 81:The heating in living area was inadequate. It was freezing and we had to wrap in blankets to watch tv.
Review 82:Location
