Hotel Kalura sells fast on our site. With panoramic views of Caldura Bay and Rocca of Cefalù, Hotel Kalura has direct access to a private beach and platform off which to swim. It offers a pool with diving board, a tennis court and a scuba diving school.
Mediterranean-style rooms at the Kalura are air conditioned and include satellite TV, a safe and minibar. All have a balcony and most overlook the sea.
Breakfast can be enjoyed while admiring the Sicilian coastline. Local specialties are served at the restaurant, along with a list of over 80 Sicilian wines.
In spring and fall, there are walking and cycling tours while yoga, art and photography classes are available from March to November. There are bikes to rent and free sun umbrellas and deckchairs at the beach and swimming platform.
The property is one mile from Cefalù center. Free parking is available and guests are a 10 minute drive from Highway A20.

Review 1：While the hotel is excellent for swimming and water sports it it not close to the town center. The walk is only 20-30 minutes but is not comfortable and we took taxi on a way back.

Review 4：Our room with the seaview on the last floor had very low ceiling between the room and the bathroom and although it was very well marked we butted it every time we wanted to go to the balcony or to the toilet, especially in the night.

Review 5：The hotel is beautifully situated, not in the center of the town, but this is what we were looking for. The walk to the town takes app. 20-30 minutes and is very nice along the sea side on one hand and the Rock with a lantern on the other. The hotel itself is very well equipped, with nice pool and the private beach. The beach is concrete with no sand, but thanks to the rocks in the sea the water is spotlessly clean, green and blue, just beautiful. We had very nice 3 days in Cefalu, in Hotel Kalura.

Review 13：No lift to the last floor. Hard to carry luggage up the stairs although female staff member did help. The lift that went to the floor below jolted significantly as it stopped. The top floor room's ceiling was a bit low for my 185 cm husband.

Change room and luggage storage was available after we checked out but still wanted a lounge by the pool. Plenty of parking.

Review 15：The use of facilities does not make sense: ping-pong, tennis and basketball cannot be used during yoga classes which are located just next door because of the noise, but yoga classes last for periods of 4h so that you can never enjoy these activities or just during a two hour break during lunch; the rooms are very noisy you can even hear your neighbor going to the toilets, that's a problem; finally, rooms are available at 3PM and you must leave by 11AM, this is not sufficient time to enjoy your room compared to the price you pay

Review 17：I did not like cups and plates which were served for breakfast. Lots of them were not clean - traces of grease and lipstick. Really disgusting. I did not like very much the bathroom door in our room (319). It did not close. They tried to repair it but without any success. I suppose that this could be in any room in the hotel.

Review 29：We stayed in one of the apartments nestled in the hill just above our own cove. This is a 10 minute walk from the hotel with beautiful views. A great place to bring the family. The kitchen is perfect. It's an easy walk to the quaint town of Cefalu.

Review 30：If you plan on sunbathing, this is not the place to go. Given its location facing east, the sun disappears at around 4pm. Combined with a check-in time of 3pm (we could have the room at around 2.30pm, to be fair), this gives you rather little time. Too few staff at breakfast; you are required to clean your table by yourself after eating - something I didn't expect at a hotel in this price range.

Review 32：The room on the photo is only ONE refurbished room, we had a very poor and non-refurbished and very outdated room. The breakfast is not the best one either, it's a bit like a huge working canteen. It's quite a long walk to the center and you really have to go there as the center of Cefalu is really nice and there are no alternatives for restaurants in the near surroundings. No Wifi in the room!!!

It was a bit of a walk into Cefalu, which we knew from reading the reviews but did not mind. Fantastic local pizzeria half way to Cefalu if you are too tired to walk like, we were one night. Breakfast was great, large variety of food and all of decent quality. The pool area was nice too, plenty of sun loungers and the giant chess was good too.

There were three lots of melted cheese found on the steps at the rear of the hotel leading down to the private beach....which were never cleaned up during our stay The small gym did not open until 09.00 and additional/stronger air con in there would have tempted me to use it. It had only three pieces of equipment.

Review 58：The rooms close to the divingcenter were noisy / mechanical noise most of the day. The pathway from hotel Kalura to the town lacks streetlights on major parts. The beach can be improved by building a bridge from the shore and some meters out.

Review 65：Hotel is set in a high position to the east of Cefalu with fantastic sea views. Room was comfortable, clean and bright with good facilities. Plenty of choice at breakfast in dining room overlooking the sea. Steps down to rocky cove with loungers and umbrellas and good facilities. It took us a good 25 minutes of pleasant walking to reach the old town of Cefalu.

Review 68：This place is all show with no effort put into the rooms. There is NO wifi in the rooms and the A/C didn't work. When told that, they sent a repairman who said he'd come back in a day. NO help, as we were leaving. Pool far from rooms, charge for pool towels [and pet] and unruly water polo group of 25 year olds crashing the ball into us.

Review 71：The warm welcome from the lovely lady in reception who assisted us throughout our stay and spoke excellent english. The most amazing views from our hotel room which simply took our breath away. The rooms were clean, modern and nicely decorated. Breakfast was very good with an array of pastries, cereals, cheese, fruit etc with the added bonus of sitting on the terrace listening to the sea birds. We preferred the self service option at breakfast as it allowed us to have it at our own pace. Lunch was also very tasty with generous portions, good wine and efficient friendly service. The rock beach was a wonderful area for snorkelling or to simply relax on a deck chair and the large swimming pool was a great alternative option with ample free sunbeds and a poolside bar. The hotel is located outside the lovely town of cefalu which has a sandy beach. We did not have a car so we used the local bus which has a stop directly in front of the hotel and was always on time! When returning late at night we used a taxi at 10 euro. All the family enjoyed their stay at Hotel Kalura as it has a wonderful sense of calm and tranquility but with enough activities on offer for all age groups so that you were never bored. A wonderful holiday with spectacular sea views. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay such a pleasurable one!

Review 72：It was all good, except the single rooms that 2 of us had, needed updating and were quite small. My sister paid more and had a much nicer double room with a sea view.

Review 73：The spectacular sea and mountain view, beautiful flowers in the hotel grounds and the private beach. The staff were very attentive and professional, but at the same time friendly. There was a peaceful atmosphere which suited us because we wanted to 'chill'. Cefalu was close by and is a lovely town. I think you could walk, but we drove there.

We can easily go to Cefalu Downtown and the Rocca by walking, we can also book cruises to aeolian islands, departure from the hotel. About the restaurant: Certainly the best restaurant of Cefalu! Do not miss it!!!! We had a wonderful time at Kalura Hotel and we plan to go back very quickly.

Review 84：Our room was small in the annex. Nowhere to open a suitcase and wardrobe awkwardly positioned. Walk to and from main hotel short but a bit "industrial" past untidy equipment and machines.

Review 94：The "private beach" consisted of a concrete platform next to a piece of the sea with a rocky bottom - there was no way you could stand on the ground inside the water. The room had sand on the floor and the view was of some trees, so we couldn't really see the Mediterranean. The location was actually not very close to the center of Cefalù. Overall, I think the hotel was way too expensive for what it offers. Not worth that much money.

Review 99：We loved the Hotel Kalura! We were there for our honeymoon and the staffwas wonderful. Special thanks to Angelo and Claudio for making our tripmemorable. The room was spacious (rm 209) and the view was spectacular.We ate dinner there twice and we were not disappointed. Fresh seafood,delicious pasta and wonderful caponata. The breakfast was very good too--a typical European breakfast with prosciutto, cheese, mortadella, breadsand pastries.

Review 100：The rate is a bit overpriced. Bathroom needs to be remodeled and furniture needs to be updated.

Review 105：Breakfast was really bad. Firstly, it was supposed to be served until 10am and when we went down at 9:30am, alot of the food was gone and they were not refilling anything until I asked! It was like a canteen and not a restaurant in a hotel with everyone walking around with trays!! They only served fruit from a tin and the rest of the food was of poor quality for breakfast. I also found one of the reception staff very cold, however the younger lady was nice!

Review 107：You have to pay for a sunbed! It's only 5 EUR, but still, seems unecessary. Menu doesn't change so if you're intending to eat at the hotel there isn't too much choice (especially for vegetarians). It's about 1.8km's from town - it is walkable but it is hilly.

Review 117：We had problems sleeping despite AC , mattress was comfortable but as it was hot and humid we just sweated a lot in bed ...for all the wrong reasons...being older? The staff were ok but some seemed disinterested?..maybe end of season , best staff were the cleaners. The walk down to the private beach is a lot of steps down cliff which is ok if you take it slow and easy, but the steps are in need of repair in some areas and you had to be carefull. The bar service was good but when paying cash very rarely was a receipt given ...same drinks with varying costs arose ? We did not have a car and the walk to Cefalu is about 20minutes , nearest reasonably priced restaurant La Tavernata is about a 10 min walk which we used 4 times. There is a local bus stop at entrance to hotel but service is about every hour so you need to time journeys to suit, taxi cost 10euros . There is no entertainment at the hotel except for a piano playing one night / week . After 10.30 the bar area was very quiet

Review 118：The sea views from terrace , outside dining area , rooms and private beach area are fantastic. The pool area is exceptionally well kept , clean , with excellent water quality and during our 2week stay we did not need to book sun beds at any time . There is no music at the pool and it is located in a quiet pleasant area across the hotel car park . The pool is 25meters long which is great for a good swim and is big enough for many swimmers,there is also a safe child play pool and play areas nearby. The private beach allows access to a safe sea swim area and is also great for snorkelling , we watched a local diver catch an octopus about 10 meters from the shore for his Sunday dinner. The room was always kept clean and the decor was bright ,modern and maybe even Art Deco style ,with two comfortable chairs to admire the views thro double balcony doors with shutters. A safe is provided in the room at no extra cost as is AC. The shower and toilet were clean ,well kept with a large wash hand basin top area . The shower had easy controls and the water was a good pressure for the shower. The balcony with sea views are in the shade after about 1.30 which is good for snack lunch and sun downers . Plenty of sun shade/ umbrellas at beach , pool and terrace
