Reviews for Rahayeb Desert Camp
Review 1:The linen was not clean, not what we expected for VIP services. Lights out at 11pm was a bit surprising. :-(
Review 2:Location on the side of the mountain and under full moon was breath taking. The manager was very accommodating.
Review 3:The lack of ventilation in the room would probably the only thing I could complain about.
Review 4:The tour that we had with the safari was amazing. He took good care of us and showed us all around and made sure that we had a good time! The camel ride back was also a nice touch!
Review 5:should provide a fan or Air cooling for summer season ,, i enjoyed my stay but the only thing bcoz its a summer season so its quite hot inside the tent so i think its a plus point and u make your clients more happyand comfortable
Review 6:Its a quiet and peaceful place and the staff are very welcoming and friendly
Review 7:Not a bad experience but the prices are a bit high among other wadi rum camps. They don't sell juice only fuzzy drinks. They make a little fire out of food when they should make a bigger one to add to the mood! If you order Argeeleh and its past 11, no more staff for help after lights out.
Review 8:It was very enjoyable, I don't feel an urge to try other camps at all. Location amazing, stars amazing, camp clean and comfy! I love it.
Review 9:Didn't appreciate being charged for tea when most people just help themselves. Felt dependent on staff who weren't really keen on letting us visit the surroundings.
Review 10:Great location and atmosphere. VIP tents were well equipped and it was a great experience to spend a night in the desert in this camp.
Review 11:The noise the camp had 50 school children booked in at the same time, the noise was horrendous , unable to enjoy the desert solitude, camp should've made the school as seperate booking, and it was expensive compared to the other camps!
Review 12:Location amazing, jeep ride in wadi rum amazing
Review 13:Very commercial, catering for large groups. Lack of evening atmosphere.
Review 14:Tents were comfortable and clean. Food was good. Camel rides and 4x4 safari reasonable prices. Friendly staff.
Review 15:Booked a VIP tent to enjoy the private bathroom - but this only works if the generator is on... and it was switched off as soon as we entered into the tent. So this was in effect useless and money not well spent.
Review 16:An isolated site with good facilities for a desert camp.
Review 17:We made a tour in the desert and we thought that we could have seen more. The driver was driving too slow and only showed us the closest stops around the camp. We booked a 3 hours tours and only made a 2 hours tours. Because of that we agreed with the driver that the amount payed should be less. Either way we would have liked to see more.
Review 18:The camp host and the location
Review 19:Staff was friendly and helpful. though we had booked a tent with shared bathroom. but when we arrived, we decided to get a tent with attached bathroom (though they charged us extra, still it was better). we stayed there for a night. food was really good. we went in Dec'14. So, it was very cold. and its better to go there during spring and summer seasons.
Review 20:None, really there is nothing.
Review 21:It would be hard to explain all the good emotions that my wife and me had during our stay at the Rahayeb camp. The tents are absolutely clean and beds were surprisingly comfortable. Toilets and bathrooms are clean and always supplied. The area is wonderfull, quite, just amazing nature around. But the main reaosn for this place to be so good is the personnel. People that are working there are doing absolutely everything to make you feel like you are in a fairy-tails. Thank you very much for the pleasure to share New Year's Eve with You.
Review 22:it wasn't a true bedouin experience (including a fake wedding party on new years eve), trying to hard to please western tourists (pasta for dinner for example). Stayed at other camps in Jordan as well so saw the difference. Food ok but not freshly prepared (bread), tea in plastic cups etc. Location outside Wadi Rum desert.
Review 23:It's very comfortable, so if you are not a big fan of camping this slightly upmarket camp may work well for you. Also we were surprised by offering us the second night free of charge, very nice gesture, thank you
Review 24:the staff is very very kind and welcome it's highly recommended to take the sunset tour with the staff the dinner is very delicious! meat was cooked in a special traditional way, which is vey yummy!
Review 25:- There`re no activities with ATV in this camp, but this is not a big problem!
Review 26:- The staff was realy nice with us! - The dinner in the camps was delicious! - Clean bathrooms
Review 27:Staff were smoking marijuana openely. Someone called Imad. A disrespectful person. Montaser which is the camp manager agreed with us on 48 dinars all inclusive for a VIP camp since he said there were hardly any customers at that camp that night then to charge us 80 dinars the next day, my sister was there once agreement took place and he bluntly lied the next day. Staff were circulating our tent the whole night, which was intimidating for me and my sister, we could hear foot steps on the pebbles. No electricity, no wifi. I don't recommend this place, it's very runned down nothing like you'd see in the photos, and staff were extremely rude and unhelpful.. Rather try sun city or captains desert camps. Very shameful and gives Jordan a bad name... Ontop of the marihuana being smoked openely.
Review 28:Wadi rum as a whole with it's beauty during day and night was a great experience. Can't say Iiked much about the camp itself, the staff were disrespectful pot heads, and lied when it came to money agreement the next day when we came to settle the bill. Food was nice, chef was a hospitable person. All other staff disrespectful and rude money hungry people.
Review 29:We had a big problem with the Bedouin in Wadi Rum who advised us our camp is outside the protected area & the owners are taking guests into Wadi Rum without paying the entrance fee or using the local guides. It was not good - we left the camp.
Review 30:Staff trying to rip tourists off
Review 31:Dinner
Review 32:Nothing
Review 33:Excelent facilities, comfortable rooms, toilets, etc. (in the middle of the desert). The food is amazing and the lounge area is a real hit
Review 34:It was marvelous!! I recommand +++++
Review 35:NOTHING
Review 36:ALL WAS FANASTIC.. A TRUE EXPERIENCE IN A DESERT WITH A BIT OF COMFORT REALLY NICE PEOPLE NICE FOOD AND NICE PLACE
Review 37:Dramatic location, friendly staff.
Review 38:Location, friendly staff and every evening there was live local music after dinner. They know how to make people satisfied andhappy .
Review 39:Food was too spicy for kids (but adults loved it)
Review 40:The views. The kids loved climbing the rocks and dunes...and the camel ride.
Review 41:There was no internet service although it's mentained in your website which was a real problem specially in the absence of mobile network
Review 42:Excelente atendimento e acomodações!
Review 43:Dinner was served pretty late (around 9:30pm) so if you have young children make sure to carry some snacks with you to the resort as food is only available as a buffet when the resort management decide.
Review 44:Very luxurious accommodation with private shower and toilet (we had the VIP tent) which made our stay pretty comfortable as to what I was expecting (sleeping in a tent). The food provided at breakfast and dinner was very good.
Review 45:No punctuality of meals & arranged tours Electricity available on generator for a few hours only No internet & weak telecom signal
Review 46:Friendly & polite staff
Review 47:Where to begin...?! All the staff were really welcoming and friendly. Montassar and Sayeed(spelt wrong possibly) went out of their way to make our stay entertaining and lovely. The VIP tent was nice and any problems were quick to be rectified. They were really good at meeting our needs regarding transport and tours. The food was nice. We were extremely sad to leave after such a wonderful time. Thank you Rahayeb Desert camp(especially Montassar and Sayeed). We will not forget you and will recommend your camp to others.
Review 48:There seemed to be a fault in the booking as I was expecting the price quoted by booking.com but was charged a double room occupancy even though the manager had seen my printed booking details on the day I arrived.
Review 49:Amazing location
Review 50:This people are thieves. They did not provide any night entertainment they had promised. Plus they charged us 70 jd for food cost extra.. I will request booking.com to ban this place from the website. To all other people pls do not book this place...
Review 51:The Staff was very friendly but service a little poor and not very organized. VIP-tent didn´t look like in the pictures in internet. Three beds no table or seats in tent, no decoration, more like army camp.
Review 52:We liked the location and the food. The daytrips into Wadi Rum are great. Staff very friendly.
Review 53:We were staying off season, and the one patio heater in the dining tent wasn't enough. 2 would have been great.
Review 54:Beautiful location that wasn't too close to other camps. Excellent staff and welcome to the camp. I would recommend this experience for anyone traveling in Jordan.
Review 55:*Dinner price is unresonable.. 15jd *I arrived at the dinner time. The manager was in busy. He was probably hard to concern all the people... Anyhow I felt he treated us unkindly... late to prepare for our room, and delaying requiry about carrying out to publc parking lot.
Review 56:The facilities were so much good to be rest comparing other camps.. I was in WadiRum before with other group, it's second times.
Review 57:The personnel are fantastic - friendly and extremely efficent. Everything was perfectly organized, the evening dinner could not be better. A great place to see Jordan's fabulous nature.
Review 58:The VIP room decoration , atmosphere are far from the pictures showed on your website , no chairs or carpets on floors and walls as shown on booking . Cleaness is poor , No towels when we arrived . No real management in this camp
Review 59:Location of the camp
Review 60:The tent was not what was shown in the pictures on booking.com. However, on my persual, they accommodated us in one bigger and properly covered + floored tent that was under renovation but had beds inside.
Review 61:1. The staff was cooperative and friendly. 2. They spoke good decent English. 3. The dinner was very good and enough for everyone staying in the camp. 4. The staff was trying their best to entertain all guest.
Review 62:Travelers should also know that the Camp is outside the Visitors Center and that what you visit is the Disi desert area ( Wadi Rum 2 ) I was upset at first, only to discover that Disi is an awesome place worth the visit and that if you have an extra half day you can also do the Wadi Rum 1 Visitor center area after you check out the Camp. Important: Last week of September 2013 the Camp is under major renovation and construction works that can disapoint someone.
Review 63:The location is great. The desert tours are awesome. But on top of that is the kindness of all the staff members. I'd like to give them a 10+
Review 64:Camp under construction ..bull dozers in the desert during the day !Maybe the camp should have been closed for 2 weeks while these changeswere being made. Difficult for woman traveller alone ...
Review 65:Spectacular location. Wonderful opportunity to ride camels in thedesert. Sleep under the stars Excellent traditional dinner
Review 66:Everything. The camp is poorly maintained, toilets in tents are dirty and not maintained well. The food was average and overpriced. The bed was uncomfortable and the bedding was of a very poor quality and appeared dirty/used. Way overpriced for what is offered.
Review 67:Wadi Rum is a great location to experience the desert.
Review 68:We struggled and had many problems with the payment since only cash is accepted, no credit card and no ATM working around. Make sure you bring your own clean bed-sheets and pillow. We've sadly noticed that the stuff actually sleeps in the guest-tents when they're free without changing the bed! Far too expensive, ok for one night only.
Review 69:We've enjoyed the location and the food.
Review 70:It was impossible to get costs out of the guys until we got there andthen you haven't much choice but to accept the costs. £44 for a 2hour 4x4 tour around the wadi for 4 of us and £15 for a one hour camelride each person!
Review 71:We enjoyed one night here and had a great welcome. Evening meal wasoutstanding and local entertainment made it a special night.
Review 72:the rooms are very basic and did not look like the pics on our booking on booking.com
Review 73:The staff where friendly and very helpful. The food was amazing and the location was breath taking!
Review 74:The Tent was very small and it was entirely different from what is shown in the pictures. The tent I booked was double or twin tent. If you see the pictures on the website it is a big tent with a side table. Howerver, the tent which was given to me has only one doble bed.
Review 75:Their food and Hospitality of the Camp was really good.
Review 76:nothing
Review 77:Amazing staff, super friendly and well organised. They made us feel at home. Great buffet dinner and breakfast. Beautiful location in Wadi Rum desert. They came and picked us up at the parking and drove us to the camp that is a bit isolated and far from the main road. We chose the vip tent with private bathroom and it was really nice. We absolutely recommend this camp.
Review 78:The food which was prepared beautifully was very nice with many salads and meat cooked underground. The chilled out style of all staff was just perfect for the surroundings. Late night camel ride was quite surreal with an incredible full moon. Whole experience was incredible you just have to go with the flow. I would recommend at least 2-3 nights.
Review 79:No hot water in VIP tents before twilight.
Review 80:Atmosphere is unique and it is an experience that everybody should try. It looks better than the camps we saw from the distance. I recomend VIP tents.
Review 81:Uncomfortable bed but, given it was a tent, was excusable. No fire in the evening.
Review 82:Excellent location close to Wadi Rum. No fees to pay into Wadi Rum if using their desert jeep safari. Lovely Bedouin dinner cooked in a hole in the sand. Excellent jeep safari. Very friendly staff.
Review 83:The shower-head holder was broken in the room rather annoyingly. Ratherfoolishly, we didn't properly think about food in the desert, soonly booked breakfast instead of full board - we ended up paying a lotmore for lunch and dinner (10 and 15 jd per person respectively per meal- quite expensive). Drinks were also pricey (2 jd for a can ofCoke/water) - a bit exploitative since we were in the desert. Thecamp doesn't have a price list for anything, so always double checkhow much everything is. For example, we were told our 2 hour camel tour(all tours can be booked through the camp) was 15 jd per person, butwhen it came to check-out, they told us that it was 15 jd per person perhour, so we paid double what we thought. We also booked a 3.5 hour jeeptour for the desert, which didn't end up going on the route werequested and which they tried to charge us 75 jd for (we had agreed 50jd - they accepted this after we queried it). Saying that, we did have alovely time on both tours and the guides were funny. Some other thingsto consider: one night is probably enough to see/do everything. Westayed for two and found it a bit of a stretch filling the time. Bestthing is probably to come late afternoon, dump your things, relax a bit, maybe go on a camel tour to watch the sunset, and then do a longer jeeptour the next day early morning before checking out in the afternoon. Ifpossible, hire a car or taxi, as it's slightly tricky getting out ofthe desert on public transport. The camp's driver dropped us off inthe nearby village of Diseh, and the bus we got from there only droppedus off at the Desert Highway. We had to wait for another bus to take usonwards to Aqaba - bit of a problem as there aren't any busschedules as such. The other option is hitchhiking. We ended uphitchhiking to Aqaba in a truck with a sheep in the back! The family wehitchhiked with were lovely though.
Review 84:We stayed in the vip tent, which was about as luxurious as you can getfor camping. The tent was spacious, nicely decked out and came withadequate blankets for the cool nights (we went early May). The ensuitebathroom was clean, and handy if you can't be bothered to make thetrek to the nearby communal toilets (in top condition). The camp isabout a 10 minutes drive from the visitor centre (call ahead to notifythe camp, who will then send a driver to pick you up for free), andclose to several of Wadi Rum's attractions. The food was plentifuland top-notch, too. It's all buffet format; for dinner we haddelicious lamb cooked in the traditional underground zerb ovens. All inall, a pleasant stay.
Review 85:Cleaning services have to be improved as the bathroom of the tent wasdirty and the linen weren't changed since previous usage. Excursionorganized by the Camp are good but the Jeep was missing the roof and wetraveled through the desert sitting under the sun. For this reason wesuggest to take the official visitor centre's drivers.
Review 86:The atmosphere and experience it's definitely worth doing it. Thefood was amazing and the staff very friendly.
Review 87:When we arrived in the afternoon we did not get our booked VIP tent, only a standard one. It was very noisy, because a bulldozer was working until sunset and startet next morning at 8.30 o'clock. So we had no dessert feeling. The possible dessert tours from this place were only in Diseh, not in Rum. There was no water at all when we came back from our dessert tour.
Review 88:The dessert tour for 4 hours was very nice. We also enjoyed the good dinner buffet, except the expensive alcohol free wine.
Review 89:We didn't get the VIP tent that we'd booked for and were told it's due to the weather (???). No price lists for dinner, drinks and tour until we got the bill at the end.
Review 90:The tent and facilities were clean and comfortable. Location was good. The dinner was delicious and staff were helpful.
Review 91:Wonderful staff that did take great care of us and was very helpful. The facilities were always clean and the food was a delight. The setting of the place is stunning and there were no hidden costs...it might cost a bit more than other camps but it worth every penny.
Review 92:I wanted to arrange 4x4 vehicle ride in Wadi Rum through camp and I wastold that 2 hours ride is 35jd and that is fixed price by the statewhich I found out later that was not true. So u better arrange anyattraction through visitor center.
Review 93:Dinner was awesome.
Review 94:Be aware that you can not access to the camp with your car (the camparrange the transportation at no additional cost from the parking afterthe entrance in the park). There was a problem with the hot water on thenight we stayed !
Review 95:Nice atmosphere. Excellent dinner (compulsory buffet with 2o jd).Comfortable accomodation (we were upgraded)
Review 96:Dinner is not included, however you do not have any other option to eat. Stuff is a bit slow.
Review 97:Very good and protected location, nice stuff willing to help, good dinner
Review 98:Dinner wasn't included in the price and it was ridiculously expensive. There are no other options because you're in the middle of the desert. The dinner price should be included in the overall price, and water should be complimentary.
Review 99:Beautiful scenery.
Review 100:The food price was not very clear. The location is not exactly inside the Wadi Rum reserve, but close to it. Even though, the place is very beautiful.
Review 101:The staff was very nice and friendly. The food was excellent. The tent was very comfortable.
Review 102:The location where this camp is. It is amazing. It is surrounded by the Wadi Rum mountains. We booked the VIP tent and tents were decorated beautifully. Food was good and they are vegetarian friendly as well. Staff is friendly.
Review 103:We had a great experience being able to stay in a comfortable tend withprivate toilet and hot shower!! The staff was extremely friendly, thefood for new year's eve was superb and they arrange a car to pickyou at the visitors centre in Wadi Rum. The landscape is breath takenand the camp also provides tours in the desert but then you will have topay extra... I enjoyed the camp and the experience and I am very picky!Totally recommend it to everyone.
Review 104:We had several issues: - Some young people came to our camp in the middle of the night (think 1am - 2.30am) shouting and running around the tents. Nobody from the staff told them to stop, and in the morning they said they hadn't heard anything (completely not possible) - They told us we could pay with credit card for the activities but then the last day we realized the only machine in the whole desert wasn't working. The only solution they offered was to drive to Aqaba to find an ATM. We wasted 1/2 a day with this :(
Review 105:Camp is in a good location, it's a beautiful area, and despite the inconveniences it's well worth it to come to Wadi Rum. Loved the place.
Review 106:Location and excellent guide
Review 107:Extremely friendly people. Awesome dinner
Review 108:Good food. Excellent location. Good staff behavior.
Review 109:Mobile telephones (belonging to staff) ringing in the communal area.
Review 110:The staff made us feel welcome. Food was good
Review 111:The tents were filthy, very noisy loud music, poor food choice
Review 112:Location
Review 113:no night life
Review 114:everything
Review 115:Facilities, no fans , ventilation, air cond and lights in tent
Review 116:Rock climbing, sunset, scenery, foods
Review 117:Very pleasant spot in beautiful surrounding, good meal, comfort as expected, incredible landscape.
Review 118:loud music at one of our three nights...
Review 119:The staff are polite and generous, though it's very very hot in July...
Review 120:Toilettes not clean. Poor services, even simple like lamps inside the tents
Review 121:It was fantastic, the staff is very friendly, jeep tour was good and the food excellent!
Review 122:pictures not realistic for the rooms, sand in the bed, overall very basic
Review 123:Helpful and very understqnding staff, amazing location
Review 124:Perfect location, good friendly people, delicious food, activity at night
Review 125:Expensive activities (more expensive then visitor centre) and the staffwas not so helpfull
Review 126:having to wait for 4x4 transport back to village to collect car
Review 127:What can you say Location Location Location The VIP tents are great
