Reviews for Etna Hotel
Review 1:We found all the hotel staff (especially at reception) very helpful and charming. Some nice touches - including a selection of Sicily guide books at reception - in a variety of languages - for guests to borrow. Good variety and quality of food for breakfast.
Review 2:Everything!!! Location was excellent. Restaurant on-site was very good. Grounds were very well kept. Staff was superb. The woman at the front desk was very helpful and helped us get a tour organized to tour the North side of Mt Etna....last minute.
Review 3:The fridge was missing, having been removed , but not replaced, some time before our arrival. It should have been replaced some ago, but hasn't been. Booking.com said it had a fridge
Review 4:the buildings and grounds are lovely and the setting for meals was superb.
Review 5:This is a lovely hotel, very quiet and calm, with a great swimming pool and views of Etna. The breakfast is superb with everything you could possibly want. Giarre is a good location for exploring the region. We had such an enjoyable and relaxing time here. We will definitely be back. It was the best hotel we stayed in during our time in Sicily. The staff were particularly friendly, helpful and welcoming.
Review 6:The shower broke straight away but was mended immediately. That's it!
Review 7:Beautiful location, great views of Etna. Lovely pool with cafe service. Fantastic restaurant onsite, a real treat all round.
Review 8:Lunch at the pool was not good as the ingredients seemed to be Lidl's and also the beef tomatoes (from a tomato growing area were green, hard and tasteless). This is a small and petty negative as the rest of our time here was great.
Review 9:Maids cleaned our bedroom/bathroom beautifully each day - wonderful. Swimming pool lovely. Reception ladies and the male staff around were always extremely helpful even charging up our car battery. Parking on site always available.
Review 10:Giarre is not the best holiday destination except for visiting Etna and Taormina.
Review 11:The hotel grounds are beautiful and you can see Mount Etna from the pool. Very clean, comfortable rooms, large enough for the family of four. Nice breakfast, great staff.
Review 12:Nothing - all went very well
Review 13:The pool was a big plus as was the friendly and professional service by the Pool Bar attendant - Dario. All staff were nice and friendly. The Restaurant next door was also delightful and a really big plus.
Review 14:The bikes available to guests were poor, they had not been well maintained and had no gears!
Review 15:Breakfast was excellent as was food by the pool and in the restaurant. Grounds were beautiful
Review 16:From the pictures we expected our 'superior' double room to have a nice and comfortable look, with a nice view over a garden or a pool. We had instead a gloomy, ground floor room with no windows, directly facing the breakfast patio. Moreover, the hotel restaurant has a subpar quality.
Review 17:The swimming pool and its view over Mt Etna is truly breathtaking.
Review 18:The rooms could do with a 'refresh' and slightly less institutional paint colours, but generally the hotel provided good value-for-money.
Review 19:This Hotel set in an old building just off the main road is delightful. We were warmly greeted and our ground-floor room faced out onto the pool (there was a hedge for privacy) and beyond the pool to a view of Mt Etna. The room was adequate, but not 'flash'. the best things were [a] the staff who were unstintingly helpful and friendly; [b] the restaurant and breakfast buffet which both served well-prepared delicious food. there was no problem for my veggie wife and plenty on the menu for her to eat.
Review 20:Nothing
Review 21:The hotel is very charming and rooms are very nice. I was only one night, but it's a place to stay longer. The staff is very friendly and they have also a good breakfast, that is included. I was travelling with my motorbike and i could let stay it in a safe place in the hotel. Thanks for the hospitality.
Review 22:I did not get the room I booked.
Review 23:I liked the layout of the hotel and the fact that it's in an old winery. The pool area was very nice. It is a very quiet part of town.
Review 24:You need a car to reach other places for food or drink or to go to the beach. Pretty hard matrassis.
Review 25:Beautyfull, nicely furnitured rooms. Romantic old building. Nice and friendly staff. Fantastic view of Thema etna. Good restaurant. Very quiet place.
Review 26:The staff in the restaurant was fantastic in catering to a gluten-free menu. Fantastic gluten-free pasta! The pool was a wonderful way to cool off after a hot day in Taormina.
Review 27:This hotel has incredible views of Etna ,it was the 6th hotel we stayed in during our journey through Sicily and our children's favourite with a lovely breakfast and wonderful resturant
Review 28:the enviroment around. i mean the town. one of the room was in front of the car parking
Review 29:i liked the garden, the pool, the yard. the staff was very nice and willing to help
Review 30:The room was invaded by mosquitoes on our arrival, insect screens are non-existent. Breakfast was poor and on a first-come-first served basis, meaning that they don't top up finished items. Air conditioner was very noisy and inefficient.
Review 31:Location is very close to main attractions in this area, namely Etna, Taormina and Gole Alcantara. Room was spacious, and view was great (first floor room). Receptionist was very nice and helpful. Pool area was nice. Parking is free and safe.
Review 32:Very friendly and helpful staff ,particularly Massimo and Lucia. They go to extra length to help you. Lovely people.
Review 33:Lovely hotel, great pool, friendly staff and family or excellent
Review 34:A little street noise.
Review 35:Proximity to MT Etna. Great breakfasts and a wonderful in house restaurant. Very clean and big room. Great swimming pool
Review 36:Lovely rooms, excellent restaurant next door. Period property with lots of character. Excellent pool to cool off in at the end of the day.
Review 37:Lovely surroundings. Quiet garden, Etna in the background. Absolutely great value for money. Nice and attentive staff.
Review 38:The restaurant is good but slow although it does not belong to the hotel.
Review 39:The Hotel Team is very nice, the view beautiful and the place very quiet.
Review 40:No other decent facilities. Poor location.
Review 41:Excellent swimming pool
Review 42:Difficulty with Wi-Fi. Traffic-noise in the morning.
Review 43:The old building, the rooms were beautiful, the swimming-pool and the garden too.Very nice restaurant.Good and friendly staff.
Review 44:beautiful property and very well maintained. very cooperative, friendly and accommodative staff. we loved our short stay and will be happy to visit again.
Review 45:This Hotel is an Oasis in a very run down area. Use this hotel as a base for visiting Taormina and Etna, have a dip in the pool, eat in and you will enjoy it.
Review 46:The staff went that extra mile to be helpful. The Hotel had a decent sized pool that you could actually swim in. The restaurant was excellent and very reasonably priced. Super views of Mt Etna from the rear of the Hotel. Very competitively priced for the quality.
Review 47:You cant have lunch anywhere close, except for the weekends. The room we had ('superiour') was only separated from our neighbours room with a door in our hall to the bathroom (though there was a door between our hall and the bedroom, in must add) which was a bit strange.
Review 48:THE very best thing about this place is the restaurant next to it. We came back espcially for them this year (also went last year) and we love it, havent regretted it either (despite the unfortunate event that we had bad weather just those days). During weekends you can also have lunch there, highly recommended! The hotel is fine, too. giarre is not the best place to be, though there are many trips you can plan when you have a car. We had a superior room this year, and though it was much more spacious it wasnt that much better than the 'normal room' we had last year. A bit more comfy perhaps.
Review 49:You def. need a car. There is nothing outside the hotel not much of a sidewalk to wander outside.
Review 50:Awesome hotel!! Great pool. Staff is excellent! Very calm and peaceful. Great place if you have a car. Good middle point from Taormina and Catania. The Gorge not too far away either. Restaurant food is really good, but the prices are a little high.
Review 51:Giarre is not interesting city to visit, so the hotel may be either treated as a place to stay in it itself or as a base to visit neighbouring cities.
Review 52:Beautifull area; coll design of the hotel, which is arranged within some kind of old mansion
Review 53:Giarre is a bit of a one-horse town, and 'Etna Park' is a rathermisleading description.
Review 54:Very nice pool with plenty of recliners in both sun and shade. Staffhelpful and friendly. Room and general surroundings very pleasant. Easyparking on site. Good base for trips to Etna, Taormina, and Catania.
Review 55:We tried to book a room with a volcano view in advance, which they confirmed, but then they moved us to another room. They fixed it, sort of, but don't expect them to stick by any advance booking commitments re: specific rooms, types of beds etc.
Review 56:Setting was gorgeous and the atmosphere of the hotel was relaxed and serene.
Review 57:On the day before we left, we got a parking fine in Giarre. Because theprocedure for paying the fine was complicated, we gave the receptionistthe money to pay it. Three months later we received a statement fromEuropcar showing they had deducted the amount (eur 45) from our creditcard. Obviously someone had pocketed the money!
Review 58:The location near Mt. Etna, the room was spacious and pool was excellentto have with children.
Review 59:Of course the location with view on the Etna is nice but we expected more from the environment were this hotel is located. Giarre is not really an attractive village and not many restaurant options in the neighbourhood. The environment is some what old and polluted. The close-by beach options with small-stone-beaches are fine, even better than sand for us.
Review 60:We really like the friendly people at the hotel, clean rooms, good pool and the breakfast is really good. Even fresh orange jus and real good capucino! Also the restaurant is a good option for the evenings.
Review 61:local town is a bit scruffy but has good supermarket
Review 62:Lovely setting with views of Etna and citrus groves
Review 63:A good location to explore the attractions on the East side of Sicily
Review 64:Only road to beach was full of trafic and not suitable for walking or cycling.
Review 65:Good breakfast, helpful and friendly staff
Review 66:the bootle of champagne offered at the arrival
Review 67:Excellent location for exploring the Etna and visit Toaromina. Friendly personnel.
Review 68:food
Review 69:No bar available.
Review 70:Good views and swimming pool. Friendly staff with good information.
Review 71:no walking possibility to the beach because of traffic/dangerous roads.
Review 72:view on the etna from hotel room
Review 73:As we were 4 adults in a split level room I would have liked a little more privacy.
Review 74:lovely decor and tranquill atmosphere. A relaxed Tuscan feel.
Review 75:Pictures do not always show the beauty of the hotel, is it really nice!
Review 76:Everything is perfect, location, staff, facilities and atmosfer.
Review 77:The place is marvelous, the staff is friendly ( Massimiliano, graziedi tutto!)
Review 78:Friendly and helpful staff, made us feel welcome and we enjoyed it very much, nothing was any trouble
