Reviews for The Bedouin Meditation Camp

Review 1:Bathrooms were not very clean nor were the blankets. However, as this camp IS in the middle of the desert, it is kind of expected. Don't let it spoil your experience - the place is made by stunning views and welcoming beduins! Definitely recommend.

Review 2:Nothing can beat the surroundings of this camp - it is a must see and it is worth every penny. Very friendly staff with great sense of humour. Amazing dinners!! One of the best experiences in life... We spent two nights in the camp with a jeep tour - stunning views. Please, visit Jordan: safe, very welcoming, friendly and absolutely beautiful.

Review 3:The bathrooms could be cleaner and the prices charged for dinner -especially for vegetarians-: lower. I didn't appreciate the fact that we were convinced into taking a jeep tour by being erroneously told that the rock formation that my boyfriend wanted to see was very far from the camp's location.

Review 4:I liked the traditional feel and the location of the camp. If you dream of getting to Wadi Rum, being in this camp will itself be a very scenic experience.

Review 5:the owner was not that friendly as all other Jordan people we met. During the desert tour the information of the guide was not very interessting. The breakfast was a little bit tasteless.

Review 6:We could check in even if it was 9 pm. They prepared food on the first evening just for the two of us, which was amazing. The landscape in Wadi Rum is very nice.

Review 7:Unfortunely there wasnt many people staying but that didnt reflect the place at all.

Review 8:Everything. The tour guide was so chilled out but also informative. There was no pushiness. The food was great. The facilities were very clean. Really enjoyed everything.

Review 9:In this amazing place, the dinner under the common tent was a great experience, especially the exchange with Agab, the owner's oldest son. He shared us very openly about the life and habits in the desert, his own life etc. Good breakfast.

Review 10:It was too cold for me (December is freezing) Maybe I was just unlucky, but there were just 2 other ppl and after the Jeep tour we were dropped in camp, then 3 hours later served a quiet (delicious) meal of chicken rice and lentil soup. Then all the staff and guests went to bed at about 7.30. It wasn't bad, but maybe a bit boring. And it was too cold for me to go off and wander alone.

Review 11:The surroundings were gorgeous.

Review 12:Dinner meals are offered, but expensive. Listing mentions WiFi, but it is only at the office, which is in town whereas accommodation is the desert. Water from showers was ice cold and both genders appear to share the washroom facility (stalls for each toilet and shower).

Review 13:Had a quiet nice sleep with a great view of the stars. Accommodation and washroom facilities were surprisingly decent, for the desert.

Review 14:We were told to call a phone number prior to our arrival. But the numbers did not work and since we arrived in darkness it wasn't such a pleasant experience. The people at the entrance of Wadi Rum told the taxi driver to "take the money and go." They did come to pick us up (at an additional 20 JD). The bed did not look as if the sheets were clean.

Review 15:The scenery is beautiful! Don't forget to watch the stars at night!

Review 16:Wadi Rum in general: when you arrive at the Wadi Rum gate, some pirates will stop you and tell you you need a ticket and they will call your accommodation. Don't stop, but drive till the rest place. It is about 7k from the interance gate. There you can ask the tourist police to call you accommodation.

Review 17:- Staff is extremely friendly and make you really feel like you belong in the family. - The jeep-tour was amazing. Mohamed, our guide was awesome. He told stories, explained everything in good English, took beautiful photo's of us, was a good relaxed driver and most of all very welcoming. -The dinner was the best we had in Jordan. I miss it already! -watching sunrise, sunset and the stars with a clear view of the Milky Way, was the most amazing thing. -possibility of sleeping in the open air on a rock underneath the stars is not to be missed in any case!

Review 18:Nothing really, if one thing the lack of sheets, which was sad to be sent for cleaning, was a minus.

Review 19:Started with a great tour around the desert of wadi rum and arrived at the camp just for an amazing sunset. Overall a great stay, super friendly staff and way better food then expected.

Review 20:Nothing springs to mind.

Review 21:All staff were extremely welcoming without being pushy. Pleasantly surprised to be met as we arrived. Camp is in amazing setting. Facilities are clean but as would be expected a bit basic having said that you wouldn't expect 4 star bathrooms in the middle of the desert. Highly recommended to children. My son and daughter were treated to a midnight scorpion trail to their delight. Absolutely fabulous 4by4 safari. Thank you so much.

Review 22:Watch out!! No WIFI although it says so in the description

Review 23:Excellent location and customers service.

Review 24:The position was excelent, we could see the sunset and the dawn. It has been a unique experience.

Review 25:Need to pay extra. Expensive.

Review 26:Good trip.

Review 27:There wasn't enough for breakfast.

Review 28:The whole camp experience in the desert was amazing! Evening meal was wonderful.

Review 29:Washrooms were clean but could have been maintained a bit better.

Review 30:Very good hospitality, felt as if I was at home At the camp you will be treating to the ever flowing 'Sulaimani tea' in the dining area and chatting to fellow wanderers and hosts and an excellent Bedouin style dinner, The camp is located beneath a hill which is a good location for both the sunrises and sunsets. Rooms (tents) were good, well maintained and had charging points (square pins).

Review 31:We spent two nights and two days here. Everything was great. The position is amazing, you have such a beautiful view of sunset and sunrise! Overall quality is very good, I mean, you are sleeping in the desert and they still provide you with everything you need (showers, toilets, electricity, water, excellent food cooked under the sand, tea, a bed to sleep on). That is all you need to experience a few nights in the desert and to turn your stay there into something you will never forget. The guys who work there are really friendly and their hospitality is super. The first day they brought us around with the Jeep for an entire afternoon, and the second day they did the same thing in another part of the desert for the entire day, cooking lunch for us. We will never forget how beautiful it was. Be open-minded, enjoy the calm and beauty of Wadi Rum, get to know a little bit how they live and enjoy every single precious moment there.

Review 32:If you want to book this camp. Do it early. We pay 40JOD for a twin tent, which is overpriced. Also remember to bring enough snacks and drinks. Otherwise you have no choice but to buy overpriced items from them, since it is in the center of the desert. The phone number they left here is wrong, tell your taxi drive to go to the Wadi Rum visitor center. Moreover, the prices you pay to booking.com is not includes jeep tour. The price for jeep tour is 50/60JOD for one jeep. A jeep can take up to 6 people. So it is better to wait for a while to share jeep with others if you are alone/couple. Our stay was the new year's eve there, so it was very crowed. A lot of people booked this camp in Petra around 35JOD include the jeep tour. But they slept in a big tent together.

Review 33:Nice view of Wadi Rum.

Review 34:No lights in the bathroom and tent but just in the common aerea.

Review 35:The location in the desert.good price, for 35 jd you can have breakfast and dinner and jeep exercursion of 6 hours about.

Review 36:I liked everything and I have nothing negative to say…

Review 37:EVERYTHING was great! The place is wonderful, the tour was fun, even the group of people that did the tour with us was super cool (we all came on the same bus from Petra), great value for money; however the best-best part is the people that work/live there, they are AMAIZING!!! The hospitality that they offer comes from the heart! The entire experience was marvelous (nothing fancy, but adventurous, fun, safe and beautiful for sure!). You just need to be open and relax….

Review 38:the mattresses are like rocks

Review 39:loved the staff, so friendly and relaxed and good to spend time with...the actual campsite is ideal for lovely views and peace and quiet...overall very good value for money!

Review 40:nothing, everything was great

Review 41:great hosts, especially Ahmed, who was our tour guide. best value for money i ever got, with an all day jeep tour around the desert, dinner and bf, plus sleeping in tents. food was great, Zarb was so delicious after all day around. they also had a little music show after dinner... definitely coming back to wadi rum again, thanks guys!

Review 42:Nothing.

Review 43:Good atmosphere surrounded by red desert. Owner Zedan was great person.Friendly,Kind. Staff was kind and flexible. We arrived their office in the afternoon, but they arranged jeep tour for us.And that tour was really good. Camping tent was so tiny, just two beds, but enough to sleep.

Review 44:Amazing adventure, the staff was so friendly, the landscapes awesome and the adventure unforgettable. Camel riding on Wadi Rum desert makes you feel like bedouin. Have to come back

Review 45:Breakfast was poor (old bread, jam and hummous and a bean stew (foul))The rubbish had not been disposed of and this attracted many flies around the camp. You can see other camps from the campsite (five minutes walking) so don't expect complete isolation.

Review 46:Staff were lovely, spoke great English and we found them very helpful.Dinner was delicious. For 35 JD (50 US) per person per night including dinner and breakfast and a jeep tour of Wadi Rum, you get great value for money. Don't expect luxury. The sheets etc may not be changed daily and the blankets are old but clean. We brought our own sheets The desert scenery is beautiful.

Review 47:Nothing, really nothing.

Review 48:Absolutely the best place in the Jordanian. Everyone full of hospitality. Zedan's brother is the perfect guy, who can help you, arrange everything. And what does he say that is right.

Review 49:There was not much communication on meal times, tour times etc. a bit more instruction would've been good.

Review 50:There was a good group of friendly travellers there. The tent was simple but comfortable. Toilets were in good condition and clean. Food was simple but plentiful and good. The location was incredible. Very laid back staff. Free lunch on the tour.

Review 51:Assuming that you are expecting to sleep in a tent in the desert, and assuming you are clear that this is not meant to be a "luxurious" experience, the camp was excellent. The staff was terrific, the location was fabulous, and the trips and services offered a good value for the money.

Review 67:I love dinner buffet. The quite atmosphere The scenery.

Review 68:The chicken, the tents, the camels

Review 69:The location was outstanding, the staff friendly and helpful, the food, given the place, plentiful.
