Reviews for Bedouin Lifestyle Camp

Review 1:Attalah and their staff are very friendly and helpful. The camp is very nice with delicious dinner. The jeeb and camel tour is quite good and the landscape is beautiful.

Review 2:The food was great. The bathrooms were clean. The staff were friendly, helpful and respectful. They sang and played the Oud beautifully, and made all the guests dance! The tents are not really tents, but small, simple one room houses made to look like tents. The jeep tour was great, we visited lovely sites, and the timing of the trip was good.

Review 3:Seating by the fire on a cold night watching the stars and enjoying the silence! Very nice people that make sure you experience the most of your trip in Wadi Rum.

Review 4:-

Review 5:Had a wonderful stay with Atallah and his staff. The first day we stayed at the camp and didn't do anyting. Then we had a nice evening with a good bedouin dinner. The second day we did a full day jeep tour, it was very nice and fun to do. We even did sandboarding! Second night we slept outside in the desert under the stars, it was magnificent.

Review 6:My husband said the mens bathroom could use a little TLC.

Review 7:The people were very friendly, the guide was good and the food was excellent. Overall an interesting experience - in a positive sense!

Review 8:The communication with the camp via mail and phone was really easy, they also took care of the transportation to Wadi Rum and back to Aqaba. The program we did there (full day keep tour plus camel ride) was totally worth the price (the price even included the overnight stay). The tent we slept in was really comfortable and we even had the possibility to charge our phones etc., the bathrooms were very clean and modern. The English speaking tour guide was also very friendly.

Review 9:Prices a little higher than I liked...but in the end, I guess I'm learning Jordan is just an expensive country!

Review 10:I absolutely loved the breathtaking views and open landscape of the desert. The camp was clean and people were very friendly and welcoming.

Review 11:Not much to do during the day unless you buy a Jeep trip into the desert.

Review 12:Experience the night in the desert (although we had a sandstorm during the night and it was not so confortable to breath the air). During the evening we had a lovely stay with local bedouins who sang for us and cooked dinner. We also did a 2 hours jeep tour and enjoyed the sunset in the desert. All in all, a good stay in the desert (no hotel alternatives in Wadi Rum!).

Review 13:didnt know that the house was the office. no signboard whatsoever outside the house. i guess the safari trip was quite expensive

Review 14:the experience staying in a tent in the desert

Review 15:The kitchen was a bit dirty when I had the chance to look into it but bear in mind that water is scarce in the desert so this may be excused.

Review 16:We were travelling to the camp by rental car with three kids aged between 10 and 15. They all loved it and rated it as their nicest experience of the many different things we did during our short stay in Jordan and Eilat (Petra, snorkeling with dolphins in Eilat). They loved, we all loved, staying in the desert, having an original dinner with oud music under the stars, the breakfast in the desert, the jeep trip on the next day with a 30 min camel ride on the next day... We had a very nice and kind guide, Mujadeh, during the day who was not only taking us around but also cooked for us at lunch time, let us decide when to leave the places. One thing that I appreciated a lot was that once the price for accommodation and the trip was settled there were no extras in that someone would be trying to sell uns this and that on the way. I had made this experience in other countries where you would not be able to enjoy the trip but end up bargaining all the time. Despite the fact that we were handed over from one person to the other from our arrival at Wadi Rum until our departure the next day, it was all always very organized and we were taken care of. Never would we be standing somewhere not knowing what happens next. Overall a very interesting, very pleasant and holistic experience for the entire family.

Review 17:No claims.

Review 18:Location of the camp (under a big rock), where we spent a fantastic night. Dinner with Atallah, his friends, other tourists. Beduin songs under the accompaniment of the oud music instrument (never had such an experience before).

Review 19:Loved it! I've met amazing people there and had the time of my life exploring the desert with a great guide. The food is amazing. The camp is clean and comfortable. Great atmosphere and spectacular views.

Review 20:Nice facilities in the desert but the excursions provided were very expensive 40jd per person. There were 4 of us. They were asking for £150 or 160jd. Considering my flight to tel aviv was £188 rtn this was extortionate.

Review 21:The bbq food was nice. A little expensive 60jd for 3 chickens. To feed us 4 and 2 other Japanese guests. Tasted nice but expensive.

Review 22:No hot water but that is standard.

Review 23:The gorgeous desert landscape. Camel ride with Abdullah. Jeep tour, hiking, dune boarding and sleeping under the stars with Awad, our fantastic guide and cook. Listening to traditional music and drinking "Bedouin whiskey" by the campfire. Meeting Attalah, our gracious host, and his lovely family. Learning about Bedouin culture.

Review 24:Don't provide towels for showers. Very minor... but a small mat or something outside of the tent to minimize sand brought into the tent. Bring your own sheets(mattress cover, sheet and pillow case)

Review 25:Very friendly staff. The dinner was good and it was traditionally cooked (chicken) in the ground. The tent had a light and even an outlet, allowing me to charge my phone. Fantastic jeep tour.

Review 26:I loved hanging out with the people and seeing the desert. We got to ride camels and snowboard down sand dunes and have traditional meals and listen to traditional music. Such a cool experience!

Review 27:Totally not the price per bookings.com when you arrive there so I felt mislead and was far more costly than planned although was the prices quoted on their on website. You only pay at the end so a bit vague sometimes what you are paying for tours and other stuff booked while in camp, as all done verbally and can be confusing.

Review 28:Staff were normally friendly and helpful. Desert a dream to be in and sunset sitting on a rock in a peaceful and quiet setting lovely. Also enjoyed that it was not overly commercialised and stayed true to the culture.

Review 29:The food could have tasted better, and perhaps there should be more entertainment at night, but this is camping after all :)

Review 30:Atallah was very friendly and welcoming, and extremely professional. The staff were great as well. I loved this camp because if was very secluded and relaxed, the location is great, clean tents and beds, and overall the experience was wonderful. The price is more than what you pay on here but it's still reasonable. I will definitely be back.

Review 31:The manager (Attalah) seemed more worried about selling us services rather than us having a good experience. He told us he had booked us a bus then the day we arrived he told us there was no bus, and suggested a taxi instead. In general he wasn't friendly to the only 2 tourists he had that night. There was no hot water in the showers.

Review 32:The location is close to good spots in the dessert. The bedouins were amazing, really friendly and made our stay unforgettable. The tents were in perfect condition. Comfortable bed and all was super clean.

Review 33:I was looking to see a lots of stars in wadi rum but, full moon that night. Also great to see such a big and bright moon, but Too bright that is hard to find the Milky Way....

Review 34:They helped to arrange a half day trip in Wadi Rum. It was so fun! The driver was very nice and friendly. Everything was great. Dinner also good. Toilet ok. At least not dirty. They replied emails very quickly and efficiently. Strongly recommend!

Review 35:The price is evetually more than what the booking states. You will go for a jeep tour and have dinner with everyone. With a 2 hour jeep tour and dinner + breakfast included it was 35 JOR per person.

Review 36:The staff was awesome. Very helpful and friendly. Wadi Rum is of course amazing.

Review 37:The only think to improve, the breakfast. The Bedouin dinner was excellent.

Review 38:The Camp very clean and comfortable, many things to do there. Fantastic staff, honest, friendly, professional and funny!

Review 39:Attallah and his team were very welcoming and helpful. We had a delicious traditional dinner by the fire, singing and dancing to Bedouin music. The jeep tour was a great way to visit key spots in Wadi Rum in a short time.

Review 40:nothing

Review 41:Attallah and his stuff was really nice and helpful, they provided a lot of plankets for the night, the food was great and i really enjoyed the baduanied music, dancing and tea

Review 42:That it was only one day/night. Gonna be back for sure.

Review 43:The holistic approach from the guys. You can get whatever package you want - starting from just-the-lodgings and ending on the all inclusive trip around the deserts of Wadi Rum with sandboarding, lunch and whatever you wish to actually have. Lifestyle camp guys are not pushy, they're helpful and cool. Everybody should actually get a feel of the camp, especially in the winter when there's no such scorching days but the stars are easily visibly :)

Review 44:Attalah (the owner) insisted too much to write reviews about his camp, which in the one hand is ok, but on the other hand I think that this is the reason, why this camp has such a good rating, rather than because is one of the best. But still I think that this camp is totally OK.

Review 45:Place, sitting around a fire while bedouis were singing and playing instruments. Nice atmosphere.

Review 46:Nothing to mention here, as this is a desert camp that offers more than expected to be found in the desert, like running water, electricity and clean sheets on a comfortable bed.

Review 47:We enjoyed everything. The beduins are lovely people. The place is really authentic and one should think that a desert camp experience is evaluated only throughout the desert experience, and about this I have to make a special note about the tour guide who was well above expectations, with decent English language command, willingness to explain and discuss with us about life in the desert and a very open and sincere way of being...Thank you, Mahmoud! All the team is nice and makes its best for the visitors to have a good time.

Review 48:very cold at dawn time, I didn't know you can request more blankets!

Review 49:Everything from the jeep adventure, watching the sunset, climbing, staying in the camp (singing and dancing at night), the food, the people....truly amazing experience.

Review 50:They give you one of the best experiences you can ever have in your life. They are in every tiny detail ! We want to be back there as soon as possible !!!

Review 51:all was nice!

Review 52:Very nice place to stay. 4x4 tour was excelent. You can book a taxi to go to Petra or to the border if you would like. Great to be there.

Review 53:Nothing

Review 54:Prefect night in the desert For 35 jod we had 3 hours tour in the desert one good dinner one night in tent and one breakfast. Perfect location

Review 55:the 15JD dinner wasn't worth at all,as the two nights I stayed there they served the same food and I being a vegan didn't have much choice.also I was made to pay extra 5JD to the cabbie (After his phone conversation with the camp). whom I had booked for 35JD from Petra, when I tried to enquire as to why it was so..I quite didnt enjoy the phone conversation! I thought the guy was rude.

Review 56:The location is nice.comfortable tents,nice tours.

Review 57:Need more maps of rum and actually have guides to go with guests onroad trips.

Review 58:Being outside in Rum valley, we had our own truck so we did not feelstuck,,facilities are nice considering that you are in desert. Food wasgood, plenty of water, tea. We lucked out with Full moon and towardsdawn when the moon was setting, the stars came out in full force.Beautiful night

Review 59:Don't be fooled by the cheap booking price....this is only the price to sleep in the tent. All activities cost extra and they are all very overpriced for what you get! We spent 1.5 days doing an overpriced jeep tour around the desert. I think 1 day is quite enough because there are only a few spots of interest. Food at the camp is very basic. Showers did not work properly and sometimes there was no water at all. At night time it got very cold in the tent and noisy because there were more than 50 guests, some of whom got up at 5am shouting outside our tent!

Review 60:Some nice landscape to see and the camp is very close to a good spot for watching sunset.

Review 61:The owner was extremely rude when we declined to sign up for his overpriced tours. We had just wanted to enjoy the desert and hike a bit. If he does not want to provide just a room as we booked, then he should not have that as an option. We planned on adding the dinner, but was quoted a ridiculous price and declined. Basically after being dropped off at the camp, we were never spoken to again. The information on transportation was conflicting. If you have a facility 10 km from town, it should be included in the price. Otherwise you have no customers. Although we were not asked to pay for transport, but were made to wait several hours and originally told we would have to wait until afternoon (after arriving on the 8:15 bus). Check in time listed as 7:00. We were also asked to pay for drinking water although it was provided to those who purchased a tour. Breakfast was not adequate.

Review 62:There is not a more beautiful desert setting. Quiet, peaceful, miles of red sand and incredible rock formations. The camp was neat and clean.

Review 63:The whole experience was awesome. Atallah( camp manager ) arranged for the travel to reach the camp, good tour in the Rum area, very well arranged - lunch, tours, guides, camp location, the great evenings - its all too good. Sand surfing, bedouin style cooked food, camp fire, traditional music, sheesha, sleeping under the stars, clean camp, everything very well arranged, completely worth it. A perfect 10 for the experience.

Review 64:We booked online for our desert camping experience, and were impressed by the quick and efficient response by return phone call from Atallah at Bedouin Lifestyle Camp. On arrival we were greeted with tea and hospitality at Atallah's house, when we had the opportunity to plan our trip. Our party had very differing needs with family members ranging in age from 13 to 82, so the flexibility of Bedouin Lifestyle Camp in planning our activities was much appreciated. Our 6 bed tent was clean and comfortable, and the clean and very well maintained toilet and shower block (especially the ladies side) was very welcome. Highlights of the trip were dinner under the stars around the camp fire (with good food and entertainment), and the jeep tour and camel ride the following day. We got exactly what we wanted from our trip which was an authentic camping experience in a beautiful desert setting. Definitely to be recommended.

Review 65:Wow, what a stay. The loction has to be one of the best, protected from the heat of the sun by a huge rock mounten overlooking the entire wadi rum area... The definition of tranquility!!! Amazing, great staff.

Review 66:Recommandation: Fix a price for the bus back to Petra or Amman or to other places - the bus company is cheating on tourists

Review 67:It was just amazing! The view, the location, the very delicious food, the stuff, the evening-"entertainment" - full of romance! We made a full day jeep tour with Fayez in the deserst and it was just fully wonderfull.

Review 68:Price of tours

Review 69:As with all of wadi rum the activities are expensive but the accomidation and location was beautiful. We stayed two nights and spent the day wondering in our own. Was within wakjing distance to cave carvings and a spring. Dinner is amazing and they cooked us lunch as we didn't do a tour which was also very good.

Review 70:Pricing is not clear - make sure to research before you arrive.

Review 71:It was a great experience.

Review 72:EVERYTHING!!!!

Review 73:There were a lot of cats roaming camp as we ate

Review 74:People, keep your, food

Review 75:Breakfast could be improved.

Review 76:Beautiful location, friendly staff, relaxing experience. Clean facilities. Good activities on offer.

Review 77:Pushing staff Always waiting, changing, no timeline

Review 78:Views

Review 79:With a bit more detail, the rooms could have been cleaner.

Review 80:Hotel was clean and a great value. Rooms were spacious.

Review 81:I was impressed by the hospitality of the people, the location of the camp and the condition of the rooms.

Review 82:Food, music, staff.

Review 83:Attalah last heart breaking joke about bus at the time of departure . Do not miss it .

Review 84:Outdoor seating area, bathrooms

Review 85:family type experience

Review 86:All the things!!

Review 87:I should have stayed for two or three more nights

Review 88:very hospitable people

Review 89:The staff specially Attallah the Jeep tour food everything

Review 90:No thing

Review 91:Great full day tour I spent with Attalah who drive me in the desert with Bedouin lunch ..

Review 92:Staff Food Music Location

Review 93:Hidden expense / cost Entry Fees Transportation cost etc. Breakfast is not good

Review 94:Good Location Basic facilities.

Review 95:No complain

Review 96:Clean bed, big dinner, nice staffs

Review 97:Pricing is not transparent on booking.com, even if it is not expensive.

Review 98:the whole outdoor experience and the very friendly crew.

Review 99:The arrangements were good and the staff was very helpful. The place is clean and has all the basic amenities.

Review 100:Our guide Fayez was super nice and really knowledgeable. The camp is very organized and in a good location. Food was delicious and plenty of it!!!

Review 101:Slept Outside under the stars, bathrooms very clean and modern, Great experience

Review 102:Staff was quite good and helpful. Very nice and comfortable place to stay. Awesome memories and wonderful experience.

Review 103:never judge the place with a hotel standard. It is in the middle of desert. the food is so tasty and you should see the milky way at the night

Review 104:There's no real office in Wadi Rum, only Attallah's living room. When we arrived I was very ill, but Attallah's only interest was pushing the most expensive tour. Our jeep driver/guide spoke almost no English and after getting bogged in the sand twice, the jeep broke down completely at the end of the tour (another jeep brought us to/from the camp). I would recommend to look for a tour operator that offers better value for money.

Review 105:Even though you can book this accommodation separately here, it really comes as a package from Wadi Rum. Immediately after booking Attallah will email you with the various packages on offer. Initially we went for the 4-hour camel ride, overnight and jeep ride back. Unless you're a bedouin, I wouldn't recommend a 4-hour camel drive to my worst enemy, as already after 45 minutes my legs were sore and sleeping. Luckily for us, upon arrival in Wadi Rum everything was open and we could switch to a one-day jeep tour instead of half-day camel ride. Bathroom facilities in the camp were above expectation, there was even a shower and solar power to charge batteries (didn't use either though).

Review 106:It's ultimately a dessert so with young children be aware of the mosquitoes and better bring in your repellents. Bedding is pretty much basic, i.e. mattress on the floor. Food quality can be improved a lot and a lot of flavor can be added

Review 107:Washrooms are good, new and well maintained. The Manager of the camp is a wonderful person who is wiling to work things out for you. Good value for money.

Review 108:Triple room tiny for 3 people. Dusty (you are in the dessert...)

Review 109:Jeep tour, dinner, good ambiance, great scenery, location. Manager very responsive. Good balance dessert experience vs comfort

Review 110:The beds are very hard, the toilet area is limited, but you need to understand that you are in the middle of a desert.

Review 111:Bedouin Lifestyle Camp is surely a special experience. The people are very friendly and helpful in solving your problems (if you have any). Of course it can't be compared to a 5* resort on the coast of Tel Aviv, but given the circumstances and just for one night it is a nice experience. Good food but average to poor beds. The second day we did a 5 hour jeep safari, which as such was impressive, but lasted actually only 4 hours. After that we did a 40-45 minute camel tour, which actually was only slightly more than 30 minutes. This happened to be enough ...... fun to do, but we need some more practice. We did not bring enough cash to pay, but this was no problem since we could pay to a taxi driver in Aqaba. Very good service !!! In summary, a nice experience and good value for money.

Review 112:The location is so remote that it is hard to arrange transportation to the pick up point. Better to rent a car (taxi is around 70 jd from Petra or Aqaba). Did not like the high pressured sales pitch at the beginning when you meet the host for 'tea'. His goalvis to sell you different tour packages while you are staying in the camp.

Review 113:Wadi Rum desert is amazing. Strikingly beatiful, and amazing star gazing at night. So much to hike, climb, and explore during the day. The dinner and campfire at night with dancing and bedouin music being played live made a fantastic atmosphere for the whole desert experience.

Review 114:Paid extra 70JD for half day of activities, the walk with the camel was a ripoff we spent 20 mins walking on the street in the village! The guide gave a really poor explanation to the different sites we went to see. A bunch of French tourist putted on songs like MACARENA etc all night (not what you expect from a night in the desert)

Review 115:They have really clean bathroom (if you thing that you can have a shower and go to the WC in the middle of the desert)

Review 116:Not enough sheets so we had none for our bed. Not enough plates so people had to use plastic ones for the meals. Toilets are pretty gross. More camping than glamping. The way its priced is a bit strange - you really need to buy the 4wd-camping deal they offer because there's nothing to do at the campsite and most people can't go out into the dessert (leave the campsite) on their own so don't think its just 20jd or whatever per night - its 65JD per person to do a night and 4wheel driving ...

Review 117:The inside of our tent was nice. The location is good.

Review 118:Excellent location Nice and clean rooms Great Food Helpful and jovial guide This is an amazing destination. We had a great experience traveling with our guide (Mujahid) who knew the best locales within the desert. He helped us a lot in exploring this beautiful place and also prepared a delicious lunch over the fire. In the evening we spent some very good time with Atallah and his staff in the camp which was very cozy and welcoming. We had got in touch with Atallah before we arrived in Jordan and he was very helpful in planning/arranging transportation for the whole journey at good prices. We were in Jordan for a very short trip and we managed to cover additional places with Atallah's help. Overall Bedouin Lifestyle camp is highly recommended place to stay not only for its amazing location/services but also its great personnel who are very friendly and attentive to your needs.

Review 119:The beds/pillows are not the most comfortable, but you're basically camping so whatever.

Review 120:They have a lot of different tour packages available, so if you're on a budget and willing to take a shorter tour, you can. The staff is very friendly and capable. The bathrooms are pleasantly clean!

Review 121:There was nothing that we didn't like. But, people booking an overnight stay at any camp in the Wadi Rum desert should, of course, not expect that the comfort remains relatively basic. It seems that more and more camps are beginning to create tents equipped with facilities like individual bathroom. We personally find it an absolute aberration as this is completely denaturing the desert and goes against the purpose of the experience.

Review 122:Staying at the Bedouin Lifestyle Camp was an amazing experience. We were warmly welcomed by Attalah, the camp manager. Even before our stay, we received an e-mail with useful information and directions on how to reach the camp. We were picked at the Wadi Rum visitors centre and brought to Attalah's office where we could choose the activities which we wanted to do on the next day. We chose a one day package with jeep and camel where our overnight stay and meals we also included. In the evening, we had a lovely Bedouin dinner and sat by the fire together with the camp staff who was playing Bedouin music and singing. Our guide to the desert, Fayz, was very nice: knowledgeable, friendly and kind-hearted. All in all, this was a great experience that we would recommend to anyone.

Review 123:There didn't seem to be much hot water (perhaps I was out on the timing) but we knew that this is basically camping - not a luxury hotel!

Review 124:The location is spectacular, the fellow visitors are interesting and the staff are friendly. I thought that the presence of a US volunteer indicated that this is a worthwhile project that helps the local community.
