Review 1：Not being able to stay for a few more days...

Review 2：Lovely traditional hotel that oozes charm. Friendly staff, well located and great food, can highly recommend.

Review 3：The use of the Wellness Centre to shower and change before a late departure (i.e. after having checked out) was not properly explained. It would have been nice to have had an opportunity to help ourselves to ice cream as one of the dessert options at dinner rather than have to order it.

Review 4：The lovely location, excellent accomodation, courtesy and good service.

Review 5：Three things: a) the Wi-Fi connection (for us) did not function in our room - only outside it for some reason; b) Our room had a lake view, which was lovely, but it was a long walk from the room, after the lift, to get to the restaurant or the front desk; c) the restaurant meals looked expensive, so we did not dine there, other than for breakfast.

Review 7：Not a lot. Better breakfast variety could be considered. Also not the hotels fault but most guests were elderly and the ambience was a bit sedate. Some guests might wish to know this.

Review 9：Only fault I have with the whole stay is I felt the cleanliness of the room we had was lacking. Our room also seemed dated compaired to the other rooms we seen guest leaving. Also I informed reception that our bath room was giving out a strong smell of stale urine. I did inform reception each morning of this and they never resolved the situation or offered an alternative room. I'm not a great person for complaining about matters I just tend to mark it down as bad luck and never return. However this was not the cheapest of places to stay and I would not have expected the lack of attention that was given to the matter. We were told that they could not smell the issue in question therefor that was the end of it.

Review 15：Everything was lovely, friendly well run hotel, very clean, good food. Older style premises but we like that. Would certainly go again. Staff went out of their way to make sure our stay was a happy one.

Review 16：We had one our best holidays ever. Hotel was in a magnificent setting with every room you sat in whether for cocktails, breakfast or dinner over looking the lake, which had a very calming effect. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much for them. You didn't need a car and if you don't like guided tours just outside the hotel gates you could hop on a ferry to visit everywhere on the lake. So top marks for location, convenience, staff and facilities.

Review 17：Food/drinks at the snack bar outdoors & drinks prices in the formal bar reflect those of a 5* establishment. Lunch in the restaurant finishes at 14.00 hrs & the a la carte is the only one which can be used if you book B & B. Plastic cups & plastic bin in the bathroom unacceptable for this type of Hotel & should be replaced by something in line with the Grand Hotel. No cosmetic mirror & poor lighting in bathroom. The pool does not allow for "swimming" as it's much too small. Nothing else offered as "sports" (table tennis or similar) entertainment in the Hotel but this might not fit into these surroundings. No WiFi in the room. As smoking is permitted on the room balconies, this only suits smokers & we were unable to use our balcony & had to shut our door due to that. This was rather unpleasant as the lake view rooms are very expensive (but actually not very spacious). Hardly anything to do in the village other than going on a boat trip (pier right next to the Hotel), the botanic garden/poet's house but very relaxing for a few days.

Review 18：Wonderful, huge, old style place with sweeping corridors, grand layout/furnishings of all common rooms which are spacious, beautifully presented bar with live music & a very decent drinks list. Own waterside promenade with covered, comfortable evening aperitivo area right next to the lake with livreed service. Superb a la carte restaurant. All staff excellently trained & welcoming. Special occasion Hotel (mostly guests over 65 travelling with tour companies).

Review 19：No bad experiences as such, the buffet breakfast was somewhat uninspiring and the a la carte menu quite expensive, we tended to eat out at the local restaurants.

Review 20：Location right on the lake shore, nice spots to sit out and catch the sun. We had a lovely room with a great view of the lake.A good effort was made to provide nightly entertainment in the bar, I thought the jazz night was best as I love Jazz. Some of the other acts were mediocre.

Review 24：There was no wifi in the rooms - only public areas. We couldn't eat in the restaurants for dinner as they were very overpriced. The bar was also very pricey. Not the staff's fault but some of the other guests were so rude to the staff and came across that way with us also. The hotel is Grand - in 1990! - The main clientele are 60+ in age and many were returning there other year on year or for a 40yr anniversary etc. For me to return, the prices need to be reduced in the bar and restaurants, wifi needs to be put in all rooms and the place needs just some simple modernisation to the decoration.

Well there you have my review of Grand Hotel Gardone. We visited the hotel in the middle of May and the weather was prefect, the views were an artists dream and the best bit - it was early in the tourist season! The Gordone Riviera is one of the jewels in Italy's crown, make it a "must do" on your bucket list. Our stay at GHG was idyllic, we had a junior suite looking over the lake and with bars, pizzerias and a large selection of quality restaurants 100 yds from the hotel it is somewhere special to visit. Reserve a table on the lake side for breakfast, can't think of any place better to start your day. We will definitely be back here.

Review 30：Parking should be included in price. You pay enough already. Restaurant prices lowered. And menu revised. Wi-fi should be accessible in rooms. Towels need to be softer and better scent. Should have free shuttle. We were there for 30th wedding anniversary. At least a Bottle of wine should have been sent to our room

Review 37：The location is absolutely incredible. Waking up with the sunshine glittering of of the lake was like heaven every day. The waiters in the hotel restaurants were great, and the bartenders were incredibly friendly. Lots of stuff nearby (if not next door!)

Review 46：Both me (63) and my daughter (39) enjoyed the stay at Grand Hotel. The staff was perfect, both in the restaurants, bar and reception. Fantastic oldfashion junior suite, where we could reach the palms from the romantic veranda and still could see the sea! Perfect beds with 'feather-cover' like in Norway! Very good food both at the hotel and in other rest. near by! We have to come back!! This was september 2014.

Review 47：Smoking allowed on balconies means smoke cannot be avoided on one's own balcony and bedroom. Loud music played in adjacent bedroom - it should not be allowed.

Review 53：Stayed three days at GHG to celebrate our 39th in luxury. Loved the hotel. Elegant, comfortable, wonderful food, superb room with balcony overlooking lake. A fabulous location for a special treat.

Review 54：We ordered a junior suite facing the lake. Front window to the lake was blocked by tree, the balcony was on the side of the hotel. Furniture was old and very tired. Bathroom lighting poor, shower had curtain, water leaked on floor. They did move us to a room with a front view of lake but rooms badly need updating.

Review 56：The location cannot be beaten....and is very old school which is great....however the rooms are being refurbed, and we got 3 that hadn't been....the rooms were expensive so a little disappointing .....however so many things made up for this.

Review 57：The staff are amazing especially Barbara and Massimo....they have been there a long time we have met them before ......we were welcomed back like old friends....Barbara who manages the reception was so kind,helpful and so gracious.....it was High season it was a full hotel.....but everything we required for our guests and the bridal party wasn't too much bother..I have travelled extensively to many countries and she is without doubt the most professional.....Massimo is an institution in the Piano Bar......Barbara says the day he leaves The Grand will fall down.....he makes fab martinis always remembers your name, flirts like mad with the ladies and flatters the men......fantastic.
