Reviews for Hotel Villamare
Review 1:Everything was superlative, from the lust tropical garden to the fine cuisine! The proximity to the beautiful beach at the shallow turquoise sea was a plus ! I liked the manner in which the dinner was served every evening, it was like a ritual that I never experienced before at any hotel..
Review 2:The swimming pool was only open for quite short hours.
Review 3:The hotel is small with comfortable rooms and lovely gardens. The staff are friendly and helpful, with good English. It is a good base for visiting Eastern Sicily by car. The nearby beach is excellent.
Review 4:Evening meal small choice, fixed price 4 course €35 each. Food ok. Better value in nearby towns. Lots of rules for swimming pool, closed in afternoon!! Weird... Breakfast good continental choice, hot food was always cold. Flies on food, not good. Owner more concerned with visiting friends than guests.
Review 5:Bedroom comfortable, good air conditioning. Lovely gardens, quiet and peaceful. Good location for Noto and Siracusa, nice local beach, but even better nearby.
Review 6:Lovely garden enclave a few steps from the beautiful fontane bianchi beach. Attentive, helpful staff. The owner Elisabeta seemed genuinely concerned about how our stay was going. Very good breakfast buffet and fixed price dinner, especially the antipasti bar. Don't hesitate to stay here.
Review 7:The internet dropped in and out a lot and the place was a bit far from places.
Review 8:The reception staff were more than helpful. Angelo, the waiter, was always there, always smiling and always charming. The gardens to the hotel are fantastic.
Review 9:Bathroom and bedroom a lesser standard than expected
Review 10:Pleasant attentive staff excellent restaurant with superb cold buffet breakfast and attractive dinner menu.Quiet sandy beach only 2 min walk away
Review 11:We felt the food was not at 4 star quality and was poor value for money. Also, not having a bar/lounge did not encourage meeting fellow guests.
Review 12:The lavish garden, with exceptional friendly staff ,allowed us to have a very relaxing holiday.
Review 13:Room dark and cramped. Wifi required long login and password, and renewal every 3 hours. Took over 24 hours to get TV working. Tiny shower. Not the hotel's fault but the beach and nearby streets are seedy and full of rubbish.
Review 14:Nice staff. Tranqil setting. Good chef.
Review 15:Staff was very nice, room was clear but not the most modern! The hotel is very close to the beach, and it has a beautiful garden where you can take the breakfast! It was the single hotel (out of 10 that we tried in Sicily) where we found a continental breakfast, with eggs, bresola and cheese, not only the traditional italian sweet things!
Review 16:- WiFi connection system is pretty weird you have to ask for new login and password after every 4 hours of using the internet. - one of the staff members (owner/manager lady?) was not too friendly, but we talked to her only once
Review 17:- almost all of the staff was very friendly and helpful - very close to the sea - nice terrace with the room - the sea is very clear and clean and warm (beginning of October) beach is half empty - free parking on the hotel territory - nice garden around the hotel
Review 18:Some of the rooms are a little on the small side
Review 19:The friendliness and level of service offered by the staff was exceptional. Cuisine also very good and good value.
Review 20:We stayed at Hotel Villamare for six nights at the end of an eleven day tour of Sicily. The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms clean with plenty of choice at breakfast. The location was ideal for a beach and various trips out. Fontane Bianche Beach was just outside the back gate. It was quite busy but we still found sunbeds and the beachside cafe do a good selection of self service food. We drove out to Noto where the architecture is breathtaking and, at Cafe Siciliana, sampled some unusual but amazing flavours of ice-cream. With the hotel staff's help, we booked a boat trip from Marzamemi. From there we traversed the border between the Ionian and Mediterranean seas while snorkelling at various points along the way. Summer fires prevented a trip to Cava Grande so instead we visited further along the river. There we spent a fantastic day swimming and canoeing in water clear and chilly enough to have come from the cold tap. If you want a reasonably priced base that's clean with a pool and nearby beach but with a few sightseeing opportunities within 30 minutes drive then this should serve you well.
Review 21:Balconies could do with opaque sides for privacy. Dinner expensive and garden dining not as convivial as we would have hoped. Could have been the diners rather than the format!
Review 22:Great location for exploration of South East of the island. Hotel staff charming and very helpful. A/C in room good and very necessary in Sept Great beach.
Review 23:No see view. No private beach. Services and restaurant are not 4* standard, making this hotel overated and overpriced.
Review 24:Just 50m walk to the beach. Great pool and garden.
Review 25:Owner invited personal friends (maybe not paying) and eat with them inbig table near our, making noise and getting all the attentions of theonly one waiter. The result was that paying people (200 euro x night)wait 2 hours for dinner. Nobody give instructions where to seat, butalways trying to 'sell' extra wine, granita... Allora...
Review 26:Bed. Food.
Review 27:Really nice and fairly small hotel. Less than 100 metres from the beach and the hotel has its own swimming pool in the gardens. Excellent menu with fresh Sicilian food. Only a few minutes walk from the railway station and bus stop.
Review 28:This hotel is a higher quality Sicilian hotel that gives more comfort than the usual hotels. This quality is understated and done with much taste. If you want to visit the Syrakus, Modica or any other areas on the Southeast of Sicily than this is a place for those who want a higher standard. The hotel is close to the fine beach area and the snorkle area of Ognina. The food at the garden is very well prepared and was a real added value. The room had a high ceiling, comfortable beds, furniture and artwork next to the fireplace. The balcony was spacious with a partial sea view. We wish we had booked more days at this hotel.
Review 29:no english at the reception
Review 30:short walk to the beach
Review 31:It was very relaxing, fantastic beach and the breakfast was very good.
Review 32:Friendly staff and the meals
Review 33:Kitchen: poor, fat and not enough vegitable

Review 39:Excellent location
Review 40:small swimming pool. nothing much to do in the local area
Review 41:close to the beach, easy to find. Good location for touring Syracuse, Noto and Ragusa
Review 42:The area of Fontane Bianche was full of derelict and abandoned buildings and shops.
Review 43:Breakfast was amazing Staff were helpful Close to the beach
Review 44:Wonderful breakfast where you can sit outside in the garden area. Sound of the waves form the room and easy walk to the beach.
Review 45:We liked it all!
Review 46:Great food, friendly and relaxed staff, close to an excellent beach, and very convenient to visit the major sites.
Review 47:Very helpful staff. Wonderful garden area allowing breakfast in the sun which was always excellent.

Review 50:The Bathrooms
Review 51:Dinner between Palm Trees
Review 52:The food was lovely and the staff very friendly and considerate. A short walk to the beach.
Review 53:Very nice and friendly atmosphere. The staff was great and we really liked the dinners in the evening in the garden.
Review 54:Beyond our expectations. Very cute, clean, friendly, excellent food in the evenings and breakfast. Great value too. Simply adorable and would gladly return again and recommend to anyone. Also very quiet and peaceful, so delighted with everything.
Review 55:No other restaurants in the local area worth bothering with.
Review 56:A lovely and intimate hotel with a beautiful garden and very friendly and helpful staff. The food is good especially the evening meal, very fresh fish. As long you have transport it is a great place to explore south-east Sicily.
Review 57:They do not serve lunch at the hotel. Room was smaller than what we thought when we booked.
Review 58:Very convenient position near the beach. Small and cosy hotel. Very nice breakfast, including fresh ricotta and almond milk. Very helpful and friendly staff. Big and comfortable bed. They do not officially serve lunch but they can prepare a fresh salad.
Review 59:The breakfast was too sweet. I would like to see more artisan breads such as sourdough, and to have the option of fresh cheeses such as ricotta and cream cheese.
Review 60:Very friendly staff. Quiet location. Personal service - we went over Easter and were given an Easter egg in each room!
Review 61:Exelent place to stay. We like absolutely everything: nice owners, good home-made italian meal, beautiful and quiet private garden with a small pool, good sand beach and famous barocco towns (Modica, Ragusa, Noto) in vicinity.
Review 62:The whole building isn't very big, so things seem to be a bit stuffed.
Review 63:It is 40m away from a sandy beach. Breakfast is quite nice, with a chance to try some of the most typical Sicilian delicatessens (also the waitress was very gentile). Our room had a very nice balcony. It has some private (although not surveilled) parking places. Wi-fi (free) worked well.
Review 64:1) The owner was not kind. 2) The breakfast was poor and the same every day without any local products, which are very nice. 3) The rooms No 14 and 15 are makeshift built with no view at all and without any isolation. 3 sleepless nights. 4) We received a note from the management because we put our own water and fruit in the mini-bar.
Review 65:The hotel is clean and the staff good.
Review 66:Very nice clean and comfortable hotel. Rooms, hotelrooms and garden was nicely decorated and there was an owners toch everywhere. Staff was friendly and homie. Location is good when you are by car, sea is just a few steps away. It was a lovely stay.
Review 67:The hotel is staff are very friendly. The hotel is great as a summerresort. Food is good, and Fontane Bianche is well located between anumber of great towns in the early especially a place called Noto.
Review 68:Proprietor, staff, amenities and food all excellent. A good base for exploring the South East.
Review 69:Good staff, nice breakfast, spectacular environment and furnishment, loved it so much! Quite and unique. A piece of heaven. Very recommend.
Review 70:Excellent place to stay, so quiet, and nice, food was amazing also the wine ;) Hotel Team made us feel like home!
