Reviews for Alberi Del Paradiso
Review 1:Too far out of town to walk in. Did not always want to connect with mini bus which went in at 18.00, too early for dinner in town. Got badly bitten by some insect and still getting bitten now home. Did we bring back some uninvited guests? Time will tell.
Review 2:Ambience of hotel best of the three hotels we stayed in on our visit to Sicily. Other two were chosen by a tour company
Review 3:Great location, easy to find (very ample parking for a change in Sicily!), free shuttle to and from downtown Cefalù so you don't have to worry about driving thru narrow streets, wonderful restaurant, and above all an extremely attentive staff that makes you feel at home from the first minute (Thanks Angela, you are awesome!).
Review 4:The mattress was too firm for old bones Evening meals appeared pricey - we went into town
Review 5:The feeling of space in our room and around the hotel; the garden and mature trees surrounding the hotel: delicious breakfast buffet which must have suited everyone. Out of town so quiet but close enough to walk in and back
Review 6:A little way out of the centre but shuttle buss available. Easy 10 min walk downhill, stiffer walk back.
Review 7:Quality of the Rooms Layout and facilities of the hotel Reception area Swimming Pool Staff Restaurant
Review 8:The hotel is fairly expensive compared to the rest of Cefalu. We booked the hotel based on location but the hotel is atleast 15 minutes walk to the beach (steep uphill on the way back) and 20 minutes to the Duomo.
Review 9:The classic double room was infact an annex to the hotel, it was a charming little cottage with a mezzanine bedrrom area and a lovely balcony. A room upgrade would not have been worth it, as the "sea view" rooms are smaller and the hotel is perpendicular to the sea.
Review 10:Room was right above the kitchen exhaust system. Shuttle bus runs rarely and service stops at 7PM in high season as well, and hotel is about 30 minutes walk up the hill from the city, so you have to decide where you want to have dinner! Restaurant is heavily overpriced compared to the quality and quantity of meals served.
Review 11:location amenities and staff great! Eco-friendly air conditioning (wall/ceiling cooled) basically without fan noise. Breakfast with wide selection of continental type meals. Outdoor pool is fabulous with plenty of sunbeds, private beach is also spacious, however a bit far from the city centre (but only 5 minutes walk from the nearest large supermarket and shuttle bus takes you there anyway).
Review 12:NOT a 4 star hotel... You have to pay 10e to use the jacuzzi (insane!!) and also you've to pay a deposit to get towels for the pool (never seen that at a 4 star hotel before). Located uphill and away from the town. Very impractical. Swimming pool area is full of trees so you cannot sun bathe due to the coverage and millions of mosquitos hanging around (didn't get bitten anywhere else on the holiday).
Review 13:Wifi was good. Parking was good.
Review 14:The location and grounds of the hotel were excellent. The staff were always pleasant and provided very good service. Pool was in a good position. Very relaxing holiday we would recommend the hotel.
Review 15:We had a problem with mosquitos and when we reported it we were given a repellant plug and the room was sprayed which sorted it out however it's best to make sure you have insect repellant as there is a lot of water and foliage in the hotel grounds.
Review 16:This is a lovely hotel with fantastic views of the old town and the Rocca. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the breakfasts were excellent. The gardens are beautiful with water running through them which was very soothing.
Review 17:The hotel is about 15 minute walk to centre of town. This didn't bother us as we timed trips around the shuttle bus, or got a taxi. This may bother others. Room was basic but we were happy with it.
Review 18:The staff were excellent, organising dinner reservations, taxis etc. The shuttle bus brings you to the private beach (this beach is beside the main beach) so perfect location.
Review 19:There is nothing we didn't like. If we had to say anything at all, the shower screen in our room (317) needs changing as every time you have a shower the bathroom gets flooded!
Review 20:Everybody was friendly and accommodating especially Davide, the barman. He couldn't do enough for you. The breakfast was amazing, such a wide choice. They provided free transport to and fro the centre and beach.
Review 21:Leaving Paradise ....
Review 22:The people / staff are what makes the place so special. The location and facilities are great too - especially the swimming pool!
Review 23:Good maintained resort with a nice view. Free shuttle service to the beach and center is well organized, but you can also walk to the center which costs you 15 minutes. Private beach has good comfort. Friendly staff who gave good personal care. High class diner and breakfast. Swiming pool and spa are nice.
Review 24:Wi-fi connection not great though still working reasonably. Lovely restaurant with good service but we didn't find the food that great.
Review 25:Though a bit away from the centre, nice surrounding up on the hill with a lovely view. Good facilities and very well air conditioned room. Friendly and polite staff. Breakfast very good.
Review 26:Slightly too far for walking into town
Review 27:Great hospitality supported by a fabulous pool, spa and breakfast room.very comfortable king size beds with very efficient air conditioning and power shower. Hourly free transport to their private beach and into the town in the evening made it a very relaxing stay.
Review 28:It was a good 15 minute downhill walk into town and a lot longer coming back! In an evening you will need to get a taxi. The service in the hotel restaurant wasn't brilliant but the food was.
Review 29:We had a room with a sea view which was very good. The rooms are very well equipped - has tea/coffee making facilities which is rare.
Review 30:The setting in beautiful gardens and the free minibus service into town. A good way to combine relaxation interspersed with culture. You can take the train to Palermo.
Review 31:Restaurant choices outwith breakfast rather limited and quite expensive. Journey back up the hill after courtesy bus hours is a 10 Euro fare for a less than 5 minute journey .
Review 32:Very helpful and courteous staff throughout. Lovely decor especially in public areas. Charming pool deck area with nice teak loungers. Courtesy bus to tpwn centre and beach at mostly convenient times.
Review 35:The hotel has too much vegetation in the grounds which equals mosquito bites especially at the pool. The hotel has a shuttle bus that goes to the beach and town but it doesn't run frequently enough and the last bus into town is around 6 - 6.30pm. Not ideal if you want to eat dinner in the towns excellent restaurants. Finally the location is out if town so it's a 20 min walk into town if not taking the bus but it involves a lot of steps (downhill) so the return is a bit of a slog and unadvisiable if returning in the dark. Best bet is a taxi which costs about 10 euros.
Review 36:We really liked the hotels private beach and facilities. Also the customer service provided by reception during our stay was excellent as they answered questions, booked restaurants and even printed our return flight boarding passes.
Review 37:A more frequent Shuttle bus into the town during the day. Better explanation on arrival about the service operated.
Review 38:Lovely Hotel in beautiful grounds. Helpful friendly staff.
Review 39:Choose the road carefully, the other one is really narrow.
Review 40:A peaceful lush setting for a mature taste. Great service with the shuttle and we managed to gear rooms for very good value around 120€ as well. would have stayed longer for that price. Check out the sister hotel on the other side of the rock as well!
Review 41:Menu did not vary from one day to the next. Wi fi was tempormental. The beach facilities were not operational which was not made clear on booking?
Review 42:The quality of the food was very good.
Review 43:Typically fitted out italian hotel with tiled hallways, bring your earplugs to block out the noise of others but overall good value for money, absolute beachfront, a sandy beach for sunlovers.
Review 44:Breakfast quality was great and the staff were highly attentive with regard to parking of our vehicle. Quiet spot out of season but still many restaurants are open for your consideration.
Review 45:Breakfast is mediocre for a 4 star hotel. The junior suite bathrooms shower over bath tub needs an overhaul, shower curtain does not work, evidence of rotting bathroom door is enough to justify this. Lovely hotel but just don't think its worth €180 a night.
Review 46:The entrance and the grounds
Review 47:20 min walk up hill from Cefalu to the hotel. Restaurant food was average, but breakfast very good.
Review 48:Staff very welcoming and helpful. Spacious and clean room, nice balcony.
Review 49:The only problem we had was - how to find it! The directions are vague and for a first timer, it was hard to find. Thank God for the shuttle!
Review 50:We loved the location, the staff, the breakfast, the room, the entire package. What a lovely, lovely place. David and Roseanna outdid themselves. My friend loved it just as much as I did and both of us would recommend it highly.
Review 51:No swimming pool or private beach as promised and no-one told us these would not be available (as slightly off-season). Airconditioning didn't work and "deluxe" room small.
Review 52:Staff were fantastic, very helpful and friendly and accomodated our every request
Review 53:Breakfast,lack of toiletries,no restaurant until last evening, no coffee option in room (only teas) really cold dining room for breakfast ( great in summer presumably.) Quite a treck and tricky to locate.
Review 54:Obliging staff. The same super chap on reception and at breakfast. He seemed to be running everything single handedly. Hotel was clean and fresh.
Review 55:The walls were paper thin and we could hear our neighbors loud and clear talking to each other. The beds were also very, very hard. We were traveling on the off season so many amenities were not available but that was to be expected. It was a long walk into town but really not that bad, the shuttle is great but ended service at 5:00 pm.
Review 56:The staff was great, very friendly and accommodating. We had a great view, the breakfast was very good, the free shuttle was convenient. The inside of the hotel is very pretty, the use of the spa after my massage was great.
Review 57:The hard floors meant other guests' nocturnal movements echoed around, but this was a minor quibble. The pool was freezing cold at all times, despite the hot weather.
Review 58:An excellent choice for a relaxing stay. My wife and I had a great week late season in October. The hotel was busy but not full. Staff were very helpful and pleasant, the food excellent. The free minibus to/from the beach and town was great. We only had breakfast, as we had dinner in various restaurants.
Review 59:- Location is up on a hill, not really far from the barrio but a bit tiring to walk back on the evening. By the way there is a free private shuttle from the hotel to bring you in the center. Shuttle stop around 8pm so if you dine as you will probably do in the old town, you have to come back on your own. (Taxy or a walk over the hill). - Wellness area is not included in the room price.
Review 60:Elegant Hotel with gentle staff, Free private car parking, Nice swimming pool, Good and free Gym room, excellent breakfast.
Review 61:The personnel where welcoming, very kind and efficient. The location was quiet and had a beautiful swimming pool. The food was some of the best and the cocktails outstanding. The free shuttle service into the town was a brilliant addition.
Review 62:After rooming, we complained that the bathroom especially the toilet seat was not properly cleaned. Receptionist promised to take care while we had dinner outside. They changed towels and cleaned the floor unfortunately they forgot to clean the toilet seat, so we did it ourself just by wiping it of with a wet paper tissue the bathroom smelled as if the floor was covered with urine disgusting ... we complained about that as well but without solution
Review 63:nice showergel comfortable mattress beautiful view from the balcony fresh orange juice at breakfast
Review 64:The hotel advertises a "shuttle" to town and their private beach. However, it doesn't run very frequently and fills up, which means you will be walking down the hill (around 15 minutes). Also, it stops early, which means you will end up walking back up the hill after dinner or taking a short taxi ride. The walk back is well lit in the late evening/at night, but it felt very deserted. I did not feel entirely comfortable walking back after dinner and wish the hotel would have an after-dinner shuttle.
Review 65:Wonderful hotel; the hotel has nightly music at the restaurant that you can hear from your room if you choose a garden or sea view room. Note that "sea view" is partial sea view from very far away. The hotel is not in town, not near the beach.
Review 66:Location in poor area , Breakfast staff could be a little surly Spa not very open due the the weather, Turkish bath stopped working , but did give a reduced price for one part of the party Pool shaded by to many trees .
Review 67:Receptionist very helpful Gluten free breakfast was good but good do more on show
Review 68:Gorgeous setting. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food and drink was great. Loved the extra nibbles you got with every drink you ordered. Only slight issue was it was quite expensive. Location for us was perfect.... Loved the walk to the beach/town centre every day. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Review 69:The restaurant is a little overpriced.
Review 70:If you are looking for a bit of seclusion this place is perfect. Great facilities, lovely staff and nice rooms. It is a 20 min walk from the city centre, and 15 from the beach. However except for when we were very hot, tired and drunk this wasn't an big problem, and this place was much nicer when compared to the beach front hotels nearer the town like Cefalu Sea Palace.
Review 71:I have nothing negative to say about this hotel - the only problem might be the location which is about 1 kilometre from the centre up a hill.
Review 72:The hotel is very smart and clean with pleasant professional staff. My room was very comfortable and the level of cleanliness was first class. The swimming pool looked really nice though I didn't use it as I prefer swimming in the sea which is great in Cefalu. The breakfast is of good quality with plenty of variety and the evening meals in the restaurant are of very high quality although a little pricey.
Review 73:The poor reviews I've read are mostly founded on fact but the good points out way these.
Review 74:The beach, the shuttle bus, the tennis court, the receptionists, the pool. And the old town with many good restaurants.
Review 75:Room was directly above kitchen so was noisy in the evenings and as bfast kicked in. It was very warm in Sicily at the time of the visit and the particular room bewing above the kitchen had the added feature on heated tiles on the floor coming from the ovens. The AC didn't have a chance.
Review 76:Good meal!
Review 77:Centally controlled aircon in bedroom. Incredibly small shower. Ants inbathroom. Dated bedrooms. Breakfast poor quality products used. Hotel isoverpriced and should rate 2/3 star
Review 78:Staff, terrace bar and restaurant.
Review 79:The scenery, the interior decoration and fitting, parking free on site and the 15 min. walk to and from the restaurants downtown and last but not least the excellent breakfast.
Review 80:Not a lot we didn't like, just think that as a for star hotel the pool towels should be part of your stay not deposited, also more pool staff to circulate during the day for guests to order drinks.
Review 81:Location of hotel is perfect for getting to the center of cefalu, hotel staff were very attentive and nothing was to much trouble, also liked that there was entertainment in the evenings of our stay.
Review 82:A steep walk up to the hotel though there is a hotel shuttle service inthe daytime. Taxis expensive at 10 Euros for a short journey
Review 83:Quiet, luxurious and fantastic breakfasts on the terrace overlooking thesea. Lovely pool.
Review 84:We booked the club room, yet it comes without a balcony, something which wasn't clear to me moment of booking.
Review 85:The staff understands customer service from the moment of check-in to check out and everything in between. If younlook for tranquility, luxury and care, this is a great place to spend some time.
Review 86:What is there not to like? Room service in the morning (cleaning the rooms) was a bit slow but that did not spoil our stay!
Review 87:From the moment we walked in until the moment we left the hotel we were treated very kindly by all the staff. Excellent service!!! We were sad to leave ;-) The beautiful live music being played downstairs in the restaurant in the evenings added to the lovely ambience of the hotel. The swimming pool is to die for amazing and we spent most of our time next to the pool - with bar servive!!!
Review 88:leaving
Review 89:the friendly welcome, a bowl of gorgeous fruit waitinng in our room was a nice touch to recognise our honeymoon, very helpful reception staff, fantastic barman, really good breakfast, many, many choices, the views over the town and to the rock,
Review 90:Nice hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good wine selection. Seafood was good and the massage was not bad. Not the best but certainly not the worst.
Review 91:A very steep walk takes you up to the hotel or you can try the shuttle only once per hour until 7 pm but you must book in advance. I booked a club double room but was offered something that looked like a basement. The only alternative they offered was to add 50 euro per night and get a junior suite. We took that offer to at least get out of the basement feeling the first room offered. The junior suite was clearly not a junior suite, just a tiny double room with no extra amenities. Toilet is inhabited by small ants. Terrible planning of bed and doors so you cannot move around normally in the room. Pool area is small and not cleaned from leaves.
Review 92:The view from some parts of the hotel is the only good thing about this location. Breakfast is good except for the lack of good bread. The hotel's beach is nice.
Review 93:Long hike to get back from the town center to the hotel, but one gets used to it. Unfortunately the shuttle is only available till 7.00 pm.
Review 94:Good hotel with great facilities. Staff was very kind.
Review 95: Ants in room – Reported - said they will take care, but till end (3 nights) we shared our room with bunch of them Air condition – Reported – even after the switch was properly configured according to their recommendation you can’t much feel it Tennis – need to pay 12 euro for the balls, why? I would expect in this range of hotel not to try and milk charge from their guests Beach/Pool towels – if you want to replace 2 euro each, why? Same as previous remark… Room without a balcony, and no facility to dry wet cloths
Review 96: Nice pool Very good restaurant (not cheap but worth the money) Very good breakfast – this what I would have expected from this type of hotel (need to take care of the bees though) And that’s much of it
Review 97:We were happy with the walk back to the hotel but it is very steep and I would imagine some older guests may find it quite a struggle.
Review 98:Great breakfast, friendly staff, very peaceful location and great surroundings.
Review 99:The bed was a little bit harder than I like but everything else was lovely.
Review 100:We loved our time in Cefalu. This hotel was great. Reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The pool was beautiful. The shuttle bus into town and the beach was great since it's a little far to walk to town. The restaurant made the best eggplant parmigiana I've ever tasted, and I spent two weeks in Italy eating it at every restaurant we went to. Loved this place. Would go back again and spend longer there.
Review 101:Breakfast was just perfect, the waiters were so friendly. I like the environmental safe concept, they changed your towel in case you wanted. The location is great, nice 20 minute walk to the center. The private beach is ok, especially the free mini bus from and to the hotel. The pool and the garden are nice as well. The car parking is free.
Review 102:It's about 20 minutes walk to the main restaurant and shopping area in the old town. Not a problem for us but could be for some. The hotel does run a shuttle though.
Review 103:Attractive building with well-equipped good sized room. Excellent breakfasts. Good car park with shade. Plenty sunbeds by pool.
Review 104:Going home !!
Review 105:Superb holiday in a wonderful location with great people , food , service & combination of rest / relaxation and sightseeing ..... Paradiso !!
Review 106:Arriving to find the driveway & paths with a layer of crushed stone/sand on them was a "shock" This creates a very dusty cloud in the breeze, makes the carpets on the stairs dirty & results in the car being covered in dust should it rain
Review 107:Staff were friendly & helpful. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Room was bright & airy with a nice view over the surrounding hillside down to the sea. Pool area was quiet & relaxing
Review 108:Very very helpful staff, the most accommodating staff I have ever encountered at a hotel. Great location, wifi was strong, pool was glorious, links with le calette were very useful and enjoyed the change! Town centre is lovely. All in all a very peaceful and relaxing holiday!
Review 109:It's a 15-20 minute walk down to the old town - tho' we knew this in advance and the hotel does run a free shuttle service down to their private beach and to the town during the day. A return shuttle to the hotel after dinner would have been great ( but the taxi ride is quick and only 10 Euros)
Review 110:Its a beautiful little hotel. The rooms, gardens and swimming pool are lovely and the staff are attentive. The breakfast was great and I especially loved the green pistachio cake! The historic centre of Cefalu is fascinating with a good selection of family run restaurants. It's an easy train ride into Palermo which is worth a visit.
Review 111:Ants in the bathroom area even though room on 4th floor
Review 112:Staff very helpful, courteous and informative. Received an upgraded suite on arrival! Breakfast substantial and pool area really lovely.
Review 113:They „upgrade“ out room from garden to sea side room, but it was directly under kitchen. You can imagine smell, noise and views… there was not enough free sun loungers by the pool.
Review 114:Excellent breakfast.
Review 115:Very responsive staff, lovely apartments and a hotel, good breakfast.
Review 116:Longe do centro e intervalo muni to longo do shuttle
Review 117:Confit to
Review 118:Mosquitos everywhere and staff could have allocated insect repellent instead of trying to charge for it.
Review 119:Nice location friendly staff
Review 120:Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms were beautiful and very clean.
Review 121:Being bitten by insects by the pool
Review 122:Cocktails in the bar Comfortable bed Nice meal in restaurant Beach facilities & staff
Review 123:Mosquito bites!!
Review 124:Cefalu town/beach
Review 125:Front desk ladies were brilliant, really helpful.
Review 126:Poor quality Air Condition. it is more for show than function.
Review 127:location, view facilities
Review 128:Everything
Review 129:Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Shuttle bus that took you to the beach and central area with the last one running at 7pm.
Review 130:Nothing
Review 131:Lovely helpful staff. Convenient bus to town beach and back. Bar and restaurants and spa excellent. All much better than we had anticipated
Review 132:Standard rooms very small
Review 133:most of it
Review 134:Distance from centre if eating out at night but taxis quite reasonable.
Review 135:Lovely pool area.
