Reviews for Hotel Porta Rivera

Review 1:Is a bit far from the downtown but just next to the train station. Is a bit loud as you are next to the train station.

Review 2:the place is very nice for a short stay. Staff is very kind and the place is clean and comfortable

Review 3:The wifi had been working well up until the last evening...at about23.00 it wouldn't work anymore and it said ''accountexpired'' - this was very frustrating; breakfast was in the barin the train station with a voucher of 20%; the room had no fan (or aircon) - at least a fan is necessary in summer; also I would recommend asmall fridge in the room; housekeeping knocked on the door way too earlyboth mornings...at 09.45 and 08.45 (if I remember correctly)...it'sok if it's near check-out time, but this wasn't the case.

Review 4:The location is right next to the train station, literally steps awayto the right as you exit and then a 15/20-minute walk (climb) pastthe Fontana delle 99 Cannelle to the centre; the staff were veryfriendly, helpful, pleasant and welcoming, the room and bathroom werespacious, comfortable bed...It is devastating seeing the destructionto the town of LAquila following the 2009 earthquake :( ForzaL'Aquila - Strength to L'Aquila and its inhabitants...it willbe beautiful again :)

Review 5:There is no air conditioner so it is hot in the summer. WI-FI is a bit slower.

Review 6:The room and bed are quite large. Also there is supermarket in the neighborhood. Staff are kind also.

Review 7:Porta Rivera is very close to the Train Station, but only a few restaurants with limited hours nearby, no shops etc. Very nice staff, adequate accommodations for a pass through trip through L'Aquila. So sad to see the devastation from the earthquake.

Review 8:I didn't realize breakfast wasn't included. I was given a coupon for a discount at a nearby restaurant that didn't open until late morning so there was not place to get breakfast close by.

Review 9:It was very clean and quiet.

Review 10:Wifi was slow and dropped out. Cafe machine and fridge in passageway. Cafe machine not needed and put fridge elsewhere.

Review 11:Nice to train station. 20% discount at train station bar/cafe. Helpful reception.

Review 12:Breakfast discount available in station bar - but closed so no breakfast..... a bit noisy from the corridor when other guests move around

Review 13:Good location near train station, clean and new rooms, large bathroom well equipped

Review 14:clean place with good location more similar to a hotel rather than hostel but cost like the last :) the room was beautiful with tv (decoder), big and clean bathroom and shower! definitely worth the price stuff was more than kind only negative point is the breakfast but com'on.. what else u can ask in this price?! absolutely recommended

Review 15:Breakfast isn't really included (there is a coupon) and is in the train station. Very short walk. Not a deal breaker. That would be my only very minor complaint.

Review 16:Easy to find - right next to the train station. Staff was more than accommodating. I had a tire blown out and needed I'd stay here again. Nice little outdoor seating area. Big room and huge bathroom. I had a key problem at 1am and the guy was there in 5 minutes to help me. I can't say enough about the staff.

Review 17:I wish they had a breakfast, at least coffee and pastry.not a big deal all as there was a bar literally 50 feet down the street.

Review 18:Courteous staff, very neat and clean-would definitely stay again and recommend to others

Review 19:Breakfast was served in a coffee shop in the train station.

Review 20:The hostel has free private parking, secure doors, clean rooms and a location close to the 99 - fountain.

Review 21:'Breakfast included' meant a pastry and coffee at the station bar (very busy & only 4 tables to sit). Rooms very basic (my partner described ours as 'totally depressing).

Review 22:Easy access to station; good sized bathroom; nice outdoor area for sitting.

Review 23:a few restaurants available but road to them is rather dark.

Review 24:In front of the train station, yet quiet, a supermarket nearby,

Review 25:It was cold and no central heating allowed

Review 26:Staff we're very friendly and helpful

Review 27:The room is too warm for summer.

Review 28:Friendly Staff. Good Price. Clean.

Review 29:no breakfast available

Review 30:very comfortable and nicely decorated

Review 31:it's located near the railway station and far from bus station (but it is statement and not complaint)

Review 32:kindly staff, spacious room

Review 33:Very nice staff !

Review 34:Location, cleanliness in room and Others spaces, staff kindness. And price!

Review 35:Room was in an old train station; Regional trains still working from 6am; Low frequency; No elevator into the rooms;

Review 36:Free parking lot; Important l'Aquilla sights within 20 min walking radius; Good and cheap restaurants within 10 min radius; Great espresso in the cafe of the train station; Special prices for inhabitants of the hotel;

Review 37:a bit warm in the corridors/rooms, but in five minutes it's cooled of with fresh mountainair. You'll won't have any rumour of the trains, because they only leave/come a few times a day and not (late) at night. the wifi is bad with bad weather, but very good with good weather.

Review 38:next to or better ón the trainstation you'll find this nice hostel/hotel. Beautifull views from the stationrooms on the mountains and only a 15 (back, down the hill) to 20 (towards the centre, hill up) minute walk to the impressive city center, which you now, five years after the quakes, can still best describe as a ghostcity, with all the ruines and closed roads in citycentre. definitively a plus to a cultural holiday despite the fact that this city is still picking up the pieces of the quake. The hostel is a good starting point for doing that! The staff was very very friendly, the breakfast was a very good croissant and coffee/tea at the stationbar. If you come with train it's ideal and the travelling (we did it towards Terni) beautiful through the mountains.

Review 39:I feel 40€ is a bit expensive for a single person room. They should have a dormitory as it is a hostel.

Review 40:Location next to train station. Good staff, very good looking women work at the front reception who are also helpful and welcoming.

Review 41:I relied on Booking.com reviews when I booked this place and I am amazedthat anyone thought this was a good value or great place to stay. It isa hostel, but the reviews certainly made it sound like more. For theprice, we should have had a room that was bit quieter, a bit lesssterile, a better shower, a decent breakfast. We paid 15 Euros more thenight before on the Adriatic for room on the sea with a balcony.Extremely poor value for the money.

Review 42:The staff was accommodating. We were quickly moved to a room that wasfarther from the entrance. Any room near the breakfast room and on thestreet side is noisy. There is no sound-proofing at all.

Review 43:Good location near the train station. Large comfortable rooms.helpful staff, good wifi. Breakfast was nothing special, but quite adequate for what was required. Good and secure parking.

Review 44:Very good position near the train station (although it's not so convenient for the center or the bus station), nice staff and room services. Breakfast was correct.

Review 45:Limited breakfast

Review 46:Everything was great! Friendly stuff!

Review 47:position is terrible (ex-railway-station), but out of city breakfast is italian minimal

Review 48:It's new and clean, nothing special

Review 49:we liked that it was across the rd from the train station, walking distance to the 99 heads fountain and that breakfast was included.

Review 50:Position, staff

Review 51:The staff was helpfull. The room was clean and comfortable.
