Reviews for Cefalù Sea Palace
Review 1:I didn't like that when we arrived they made sure to tell us that they are closing for the season the very next day. Therefore we were not able to use any of the amenities the hotel offered and what we were paying for. I tried to also order room service (some espresso) and they told me that it was unavailable and they're places down the street.
Review 2:I liked the property, location, and facility.
Review 3:The staff was excellent and helpful. The location was right on the water with a very nice beach. Restaurants are in walking distance. The included breakfast was very good.
Review 4:Nothing really
Review 5:Very helpful, friendly staff throughout hotel. Hotel was immaculately clean and well maintained. Overall facilities are excellent including public areas, pool & private beach. Breakfast was very well managed, great quality and diversity. Lunch at the Beach restaurant was lovely. Great hotel bar. Superior Room was very comfortable, spacious and great sea view. Overall location was excellent - right opposite beach, short walk into the lovely town Cefalù but also quiet.
Review 6:Swimming pool umbrella snapped off in the breeze on last day andended in the swimming pool with our passports/money and phone inpockets of clothes hanging on it. When we looked at, it was not madewith a weather resistant stainless steel bolt - the cheaper bolt hadgone rusty.
Review 7:The location of hotel and friendliness of the staff
Review 8:On arrival late at nigh in the dark we couldn't find the car park as it was not clearly signposted. It is difficult to manoeuvre in and out of especially in the dark, driving on the other side of the road!
Review 9:The hotel, the private beach and the staff were all excellent.
Review 10:Only the evening restaurant, very bland and boring, not up to the standard of everything else in this hotel. Needs a breath of fresh air, a chef with up to date ideas.
Review 11:The staff. cleanliness, comfort. Proximity to the centre of historical area, and above all the beach.
Review 12:Unfortunately they were building the beach bar when we stayed which was noisy and we weren't warned about. The roof restaurant was also closed. They cleaned the floors so often I slipped down the stairs going to breakfast, I recommend the lift!
Review 13:Great location for town and private beach so close
Review 14:Breakfast was quite poor for its star-rating. Wifi patchy. Can imagine it feeling claustrophobic at high--season around the pool. We didn't use the beach as there was still a lot of construction happening for beach bars for when it inevitably gets much busier in July/August.
Review 15:Service of all staff was excellent. Rooms were huge and clean. Cefalu is a lovely town and we really enjoyed our stay here.
Review 16:I booked this hotel because it says there is a spa there and Sauna &Jacuzzi but no where did it say that you have to pay!! So if you want togo to the Sauna or the Jacuzzi you need to reserve 2 hours ahead!! Andyou pay 25 euros!!! For one hour!!! Without doing any treatment, nomassage. Just the Sauna & Jacuzzi :-0 Crazy! If I had known all ofthis before, there's no way I would have booked this hotel. There isa hotel few meters closer to center on the same road and cheaper.
Review 17:The receptionist who checked us in, didn't give us a map or told usanything about Cefalu or the area. He wasn't nice at all! But thereceptionist from the next day was super nice and helpful. I wasn'tfeeling well and he really helped with everything I asked for (Thankyou!). The location isn't so bad but there are other hotels that arecloser and cheaper. Parking. Good breakfast.
Review 18:The panoramarestaurant upstairs was not open, although there was nice pictures on your booking information. We didn´t use wellness area because it looked like closed. There was not indoor pool at all. The outdoor pool was opened on the 3th day of our stay.
Review 19:The nice town of Cefalu and nice italian people.
Review 20:After changing room to a better view we were quite happy with our stay. The staff is professionnal and helpful. The hotel is quite beautiful and just a healthy walk away from the quint little town of Cefalu. The beach facilities are very enjoyable.
Review 21:Breakfast in large room - sterile and industrial. Room was expensive for what you received.
Review 22:Easy parking and close to historic section of town. Good Wi-Fi.
Review 23:The hotel could have been a bit more accommodating with our request for late check out. The hotel was not busy on the day, but this is a small comment on what was a very enjoyable stay. The late checkout was granted.
Review 24:Everything!
Review 25:We stayed there nine days and would have appreciated a bit more variation at breakfast.
Review 26:Extraordinarily clean everywhere! Friendly and helpful sicilian staff. Very good glutenfree meals. Positive atmospere. Nice beach nearby. Transfer on excursions. Quiet area.
Review 27:No tea or coffee making facilities in the room.
Review 28:The hotel was close to the beach and old town. Very good breakfast and excellent Sicilian buffet evening. Free beach towels, sun loungers and parasols. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Review 29:All staff were wonderful, helpful, accommodating. Breakfast great. Had lovely stay there.
Review 30:The location is excellent, and the staff were friendly and efficient
Review 31:Location beach front
Review 32:Next to a superb beach. Very helpful staff.
Review 33:Private beach, close to hotel.
Review 34:Bit pricey
Review 35:Quality, free beach lounges/ towels/ umbrellas. Right on the beach
Review 36:location close to the beach. Close to the centre of town yet not in it , allowing for some relaxing time if required. beautiful scenery.
Review 37:No tea/coffee making facilities and plastic cups in bathroom
Review 38:staff
Review 39:Everythig was perfect and Gino was fantastic. Great place to stay, I will come back for sure!
Review 40:Close to the sea, an easy walk to restaurants and shopping. Very helpful and pleasant staff. A perfect way to end our Sicilian vacation!
Review 41:pure quality of internet
Review 42:Location, frindly staff
Review 43:Nothing everything was super.
Review 44:The relaxed atmosphere, with very pleasant staff.
Review 45:No good real Italian coffee at the breakfast, only from a machine.
Review 46:Almost everything was perfect. We liked our stay very much.
Review 47:Nothing
Review 48:Everything was perfect !
Review 49:Great location, friendly staff
Review 50:Bacon & eggs at breakfast were cold on a couple of mornings. Rooftop restaurant was mainly fish (we don't like fish!) so felt unable to eat there.
Review 51:Very friendly reception staff. Great location. Spacious & modern rooms. Good choice at breakfast.
Review 52:Nothing.
Review 53:Great hotel! Terrific location--at the end of the promenade, away from the bustle of the town, but a short stroll. The staff were wonderful. Excellent value. I wouldn't stay anywhere else!
Review 54:Wifi in room is not working. Only at Lobby.
Review 55:Right next to the beach. Short walk (less than 10 min) to the old town on a nice by the beach walkway. Big and clean room and bathroom. Nice swimming pool. Convenient to park a car on street in front of hotel or in hotel private parking lot.
Review 56:Our stay at Cefalu Sea Palace was very disappointing. We arrived for our honeymoon at Cefalu Sea Palace at the beginning of March and we were only one of two rooms booked at the hotel. There is no wifi in the rooms and our cable internet was very spotty and slow. You need a Phd to figure how to turn on any of the lights in the room. For the $450 a night we paid for our room, the level of comfort and luxury was very much lacking. There was no coffee machine or iron in our room. The gym is not heated and most of the machines were nonfunctional. I understand it is the offseason, but if a 5 star hotel can't offer its clients top-level service in March, it shouldn't be open in March.
Review 57:The staff is very friendly and the hotel is very clean.
Review 58:So very disappointed with the Club Room (garden view) attributed by Ivan the Incredible upon check-in. Room #316 is cramped (no more than 17m2), has a makeshift open balcony that offers no shade whatsoever from the sunshine, overlooks the hotel's waste disposal area and a very noisy generator. Seems the hotel has ten or so of these sub-standard rooms that all overlook the waste disposal area etc. Fortunately, the 1st and 2nd floor rooms' balconies in this section offer some form of overhead protection from the sunshine while the 3rd floor rooms are totally exposed making it necessary to keep the curtains closed all day long. The rooms to be avoided are #315 & 316 on the 3rd floor, #213, 214, 215 & 216 on the 2nd floor and #113, 114, 115 & 116 on the 1st floor.Pamela agreed a move the following day but her proposal was #216 again in the cursed section of the hotel. Alas, it was very difficult to get the girl to understand that I expected to be attributed one of the 30m2 Club Rooms (garden view) as per my reservation. #206 was finally offered and while the room almost corresponded (there was only a shower but I was not concerned that the advertised bath was missing) with what was reserved there were ugly traces of water damage on one section of a wall and a skirting board partially hanging off on another. This in a room that is billed €250 a night in high season. I chose not to complain as I was there to relax and did not want to waste any more time changing rooms (or hotels!). I also found that the shower-room ventilation was totally inadequate.Breakfast is served in an enormous institutional style function room the focal point being the restaurant cashier/manager's most untidy desk positioned just beside the coffee machine. It sure lowers the tone of the outlet as does the fact that from just beside this desk one gets a view into untidy back-of-house facilities that guests of a ****L ought not see.
Review 59:I have issues with their health and safety. They serve all drinks aroundthe pool in glass,Ash trays are Glass, No Life Guard in attendance forSwimming Pool,Umbrellas left up in High wind and blown over nearlyhitting people. The Mini Bar Fridge in the room was not operative thoughthe light was on in the Fridge. The desk was told on the day of arrivalbut was not replaced...,The heater rail in the bathroom to dry towelsdid not work. Not a Four Star hotel...Just 5 Star Bar prices . PoorBreakfast. Could be a great Hotel but the lack of servicing Brokenbuttons to power the water jets around the pool and poor managementreflect a deterioration of better times. I was given a room upgrade freeof charge on arrival or were they giving me a rejected room?. We willnot be back to this hotel but will definitely come back to this charmingIsland full of great local people who make you feel welcome.
Review 60:Excellent location,clean.quiet.good size rooms. Pool spotless
Review 61:The restaurant was very poor, the food was like a canteen and the main waiter wasn't very good however a couple of the support staff were ok. The pool area was being cleaned at 10AM when people wanted to sit there after their breakfast, the cleaning should have been done earlier.
Review 62:The rooms were very good and comfortable
Review 63:Coffee at the breakfast - they have coffee machines withdisasterous coffee
Review 64:Excellent location right on the sea Private parking Very close to theold city Good breakfast Nice pool - though it is not heated, so in Mayit was very cold to get into
Review 65:I have been staying at this Hotel for the past 4 years and as so I must say that the b'fast has deteriorated. It is more like a 3 star rather than a 4 star.
Review 66:The location is great.
Review 67:Beach towels cost 3 Euros (laundry charge) for the second towel (firstone is free). At two other hotels we stayed at, beach towels were free.
Review 68:Location right across from private beach, easy and pleasant walk totown, proximity to restaurants, lovely swimming pool with loungers, ability to get drinks easily from the bar near the pool, good balcony, nice views, pleasant staff, decent breakfast in spacious breakfast roomor terrace, good sized bedroom with nice bathroom, hotel easy to walk tofrom train station, internet computer on reception desk for quick, freechecking of email and so on.
Review 69:The booked "sea view" room did not have a view of the sea. We were toldby the Manager that is where they put people who use Booking.com orpackage tourists!
Review 70:Private beach
Review 71:1. Wi fi only works around the reception desk. 2. Breakfast was okay, but the self serve coffee machines were terrible. 3. A very efficently manged facility, but too much empahsis put on the guest to clean up, e.g., buckets at the breakfast table. 4. The decor of the breakfast area lacked character. It was like an old school cafeteria. 5. There was no simple dinner service. 6. No competition in the town of places to stay. It was a 3 plus, but not four star hotel.
Review 72:1. Nice walk to the old town. 2. Nice beach. 3. Good parking. 4. Friendly reception. 5. New hotel.
Review 73:Half the rooms overlook the carpark so ask for facing the sea or the pool.
Review 74:Nice, clean, modern hotel with comfortable rooms and nice staff. Great location right by private beach and ten mins walk to the historic town centre.
Review 75:Dinner not very exciting, we preferred to walk to restaurants in village - better value and menu. Excursions they recommended were in two languages, predominantly in German which was very frustrating. They should have been divided into smaller coaches with single language spoken. But this wasn't the hotel's fault, but they recommended them.
Review 76:Lovely position, short flat walk to main village. Own private beautiful sandy beach, right opposite hotel, complete with umbrellas, beds, towels and trattoria. Nice spacious bedroom with balcony and sea view.
Review 77:It is expensive, especially evening meals, which are very basic Italiantourist style but reasonable quality. You are not allowed to take yourown food and drinks into your room but this rule is not advertised onthe web site, so you arrive with fresh fruit etc. which is then wastedif you are staying for a week as we did. The pool and spa are freezingcold, far colder than the ocean was in September.
Review 78:It is modern and clean, with good facilities in the rooms and (by normalItalian standards) friendly helpful staff in all areas. Breakfast ismore than adequate and the restaurant area is large, bright and clean. There are two (yep, 2) really good coffee machines in the breakfast areaso you can have real espresso, not just drip-filter pots. Internet isfree, fast, and reliable, which should be the standard in all hotels inthis modern world. The location, with its own private (sandy) beach, 10minutes walk from the old town, is superb. Parking is open air, but alsofree, which is important when most people arrive in a hire car.
Review 79:Queuing for coffee in the morning because there is just one machine for a lot of guests Towels instead of carpets Dirty and crispy duvets
Review 80:Location is good , close to the village. Direct access to the beach. Rooms and terrasses are big enough but decoration not at the level of 4 stars Hotels.
Review 81:Theres hardly anything to fault but if I had to I'd say the poolwouldve been more enjoyable if it was a little heated as I found thewater very cold! Also, it wasnt made very clear before the booking that we were able to book transfers to/from the airport with the hotel, should we have known this before hand we wouldnt have had 6 hours waiting time at the airport for a transfer. However, on the return the hotel booked a taxi for us which was very prompt and hassle free so we just wish we had that on the inward journey.
Review 82:I thought the staff were very helpful and friendly, the hotel itself wasvery clean and well presented. The outside area was very spacious andthe facilities on offer were very good. All in all we were very happywith our stay!
Review 83:I was disappointed that laundry service was not available on Saturday or Sunday (in mid August, which is high season i would expect this service to be availabe every day!) Also the gym was not airconditioned and did not have towels or water.
Review 84:great staff - friendly and accomodating, good location, great breakfast, new, clean, free and convenient on-site parking, rooms were modern and beautiful
Review 85:The hotel is a great place for people who like a comfortable, relaxingholiday, without the any noise. Clean rooms, high quality service. Hotelis located in the distance from the noisy get-togethers and very closeto seaside, but in case you want to have fun, you can quickly walk up tothe required places in Cefalu. It's a very good level for 4* hotel!
Review 86:Sadly, our experience of the restaurant was more disappointing. Breakfasts were fine; however, we booked dinner on our first night and found the meal to be very ordinary, expensive for what it was and the service was a little below the standard of the rest of the hotel. We dined at other restaurants in Cefalu, which were far more imaginative and, often, not as expensive.
Review 87:Location is very close to the historic centre of Cefalu, which was perfect for us. Our room was sizeable, quiet and very well serviced. Pool area is laid out well. Reception, bar staff and chambermaids were extremely helpful, welcoming and efficient.
Review 88:It's about 5 mins walk from the old city which is the most attractive part of Cefalu. It's a new hotel and maybe lacks a bit in individuality. However, this was probably the most comfortable place we stayed in during a 10 day holiday in Sicily>
Review 89:Nice modern hotel. Everything is clean, everything is comfortable and everything works! We had a very good value set course dinner in the hotel which was very good. Breakfast was fine but nothing special. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Pool was lovely if a little chilly with no heating. Beach just across the road. Parking easy. Would also be very easy to drive to, provided you don't do what we did which was to overshoot and end up having to negotiate the narrow winding streets of Cefalu old city.
Review 90:The pool was in shadow late afternoon. Beach club wasn't open during the last week in May when we visited and was still being built
Review 91:Great location
Review 92:Great location, large clean modern rooms, fabulous view.all staff helpful and friendly
Review 93:The service was excellent and so was the chef and the staff at the restaurant.
Review 94:Good location and good breakfast.
Review 95:wifi
Review 96:This is a top hotel and restaurant. Breakfast is great. Staff all over the hotel is very nice and kind.
Review 97:Location Staff Cleanliness Beach bar and staff Towels Beach Pool
Review 98:I liked the location, breakfast was good and the room was spacious, though we didn't have the seaview.
Review 99:Poor wifi reception.
Review 100:The location right on the beach. Breakfast had a wide variety. The swimming pool was big and clean. Very beautiful hotel.
Review 101:No tea and coffee facilities in the room, no wi-fi in the room, breakfast is poor.
Review 102:Good staff nice beach
Review 103:Good location, comfortable and clean room, fine breakfast, and the beach.
Review 104:Tea/coffee making facility in room would have been nice
Review 105:Close to nice beach, lifts to all floors, decent sized balconies.
Review 106:Breakfast could be better as for 4 starts hotel
Review 107:new hotel
Review 108:The food for breakfast had nothing exciting
Review 109:The spa
Review 110:lots of things in the hotel were closed in early November. The breakfast was average.
Review 111:New hotel with large comfortable rooms, balcony and sea view.
Review 112:Was a beautiful hotel with great facilities ..only problem was didnt stay there long enough.
Review 113:Severly overpriced! Not worth the money!
Review 114:Closness to the beach.
Review 115:Modern hotel with very good location.
Review 116:OK for us, but some might find it a bit far from the old town.
Review 117:Newer Hotel, very nice room. Large Balconey, Pool area very nice!
Review 118:Dinner was below expectations, WIFI inside the rooms would have been good (lobby only)
Review 119:very frindly staff, very good rooms, nice swimming pool
Review 120:Had a great holiday, no complaints, but would have liked tea/coffeemaking facilities in the room.
Review 121:Smart hotel, fiendly staff, excellent location.
Review 122:Nice roomy room, friendly and helpful staffs.
