Reviews for Magione Papale Relais

Review 1:If I really had to point out any negatives at all, it might be a lack of light. Not in the room, but in the restaurants. The restaurant where breakfast is served is completely dark. You wake up on a sunny day and you feel closed inside. Would appreciate the possibility to eat on a terrace outside if the weather is nice, which it was at our stay. Apart from that, it was just perfect.

Review 2:Loved the style of the place, the hospitality of the personnel and the gourmet dinner which was amazing.

Review 3:An unfriendly staff member at front desk, Room was quite minimal compared to photos on booking.com site, Room rate and prices for dinner far too high for the quality offered. As seen with some other Italian hotels in this category: they pretend to be high-end, but it is the the details that they are missing out.

Review 4:Nice looking hotel from the outside, green and open surroundings, huge dining area

Review 5:The facilities were superb! Breakfast was good and appreciated. Staff were so courteous! I loved the two rooms we had next to each other for my teenage children and my wife and me! A lighted multicolored showerhead was a fun whimsical finding!

Review 6:Could have tea and coffee with biscuit in room would be good

Review 7:Beautiful surroundings Rooms good and breakfast and the dinners we had were great Worked really well for our family But would be the same for a couple. Was also great we could have 18 for lunch.

Review 8:At a 100 euros per night, including breakfast, there are no dislikes.

Review 9:We only stayed for one night, and our primary object was to dine at their lovely Michelin rated restaurant. Hence, everything at the hotel itself was a bonus, and what a surprise. The warmth and efficiency of staff was excellent, the surrounding gardens and out-door pool relaxing and Eco-friendly, so much indeed that we will return next summer for more of everything.

Review 10:They had a wedding and did not inform us in the morning that we would not be able to use their restaurant and garden. Very annoying as we were omly informed in the evening om the way to their restaurant. Thats bad service. We could have planned our day differently

Review 11:Liked the large garden and pool area. Staff friendly. Hotel very clean.

Review 12:Both restaurants

Review 13:None

Review 14:It all

Review 15:Room lighting and insulation of noise from other rooms could be better

Review 16:Lovely hotel and grounds with good value excellent Micheline-starred restaurant

Review 17:Almost impossible to find using our Satnav

Review 18:The Michelin starred restaurant

Review 19:Just a note that the restaurant and bar are closed on Monday, our only night here.

Review 20:Staff were helpful and room was fine.

Review 21:Nothing.

Review 22:Everything. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful setting.

Review 23:Beautiful facility, great room, friendly service

Review 24:architecture

Review 25:Excellent restaurants: the traditional restaurant is very good, but the gourmet restaurant is a real treat.

Review 26:breakfast choice a bit limited

Review 27:horse stables just next to the hotel very calm, clean and quality hotel

Review 28:Good hotel with delightful and beautiful large garden with pool to relax by. Helpful and charming staff.

Review 29:Driving through L'Aquila is like driving through a war zone - crumbling walls and bridges. What hadn't fallen down with the earthquake looked like it was going to crumble any minute. This area is totally unsuitable for a disabled person or anyone who is not as sure footed as a mountain goat

Review 30:The staff were kind and helpful.

Review 31:Location poor. When we arrived there was a wedding so the restaurant, bar, large wooden deck, pool were not available. We had a pre dinner drink in reception and dinner in a small uninspiring sectioned off area. Breakfast was in the same area as the wedding guests we assume were using the restaurant. We then found out they had another wedding therefore all the facilities would be " out of bounds" for us again. Complained to the manager who was busy preparing for the wedding. He shrugged his shoulders, mumbled someething and carried on. We were dismissed! Cancelled our booking for that night and moved on. Very dissapointing.

Review 32:Very little.

Review 33:Receptionist Marco wasnt helpful at all. Everything we asked him the answer was negative. The receptionist lady was very nice and helpful. Food at the restaurant not so exceptional as expected.

Review 34:Children play ground. Beautiful Hotel

Review 35:The bar/restaurant is closed on a Sunday , and as the location is not central there is little else to do . Would be better in the Summer by far .

Review 36:Beautiful hotel , good staff .

Review 37:The restaurant and bar, which we had planned to use, were closed for aspecial event. We ultimately found a place to eat but it was not asconvenient.

Review 38:During our weekend stay the restaurant (and garden), highly recommended on several sites, was not available due to two consecutiv weddings. Very desappointed about the lack of communication/honesty. Such things are known well in advance and cannot be kept from the clientel!

Review 39:Not much, the staff was very helpfull with any question we had.

Review 40:The staff helped very much with restaurant recommendations and places to see in the city. The rooms and hotel were very clean. We also enjoyed the breakfast.

Review 41:We had a car so had no problems but without a car the location is too far out of town.

Review 42:Very modern facilities in a nicely renovated building this hotel had a touch of class about it. Staff were very helpful, the breakfasts good and the waiting staff for dinners were excellent.

Review 43:Need a car to go anywhere.

Review 44:Great hotel proving all that you need for a great stay. Staff was very nice and let us stay a little longer with no complains.

Review 45:The room was a little small and the spiral staircase up to the mezzanine bedroom was extremely narrow. Woe betide you if you are a little larger than average you could easily get wedged in the staircase!

Review 46:The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. Loved the outdoor dining area and the pool was lovely.

Review 47:We stayed at the hotel on a Sunday. The hotel restaurant was closed. We were given two restaurants that we could not find. Because Aquila is still in restructuring, we almost did not get dinner that night because it was almost impossible to find restaurants open in the area.

Review 48:Room, Breakfast, Cleanness, Confort

Review 49:They charged 1.5 Euro for tea in the afternoon. The shower was quite small, as was the TV. They only provided shampoo (not conditioner).

Review 50:My room was comfortable. The hotel was small so it felt intimate. They had SKY TV

Review 51:We stayed at the hotel for a family wedding, the wedding was at the hotel, the whole experience was wonderful - the setting, ceremony, food, staff, hotel were all fantastic.

Review 52:Food(dinner) was not as good as expected. Rather an ordinary meal for a restaurant of this class.

Review 53:We loved it!

Review 54:Lovely room. Good play area for children. Excellent dining.

Review 55:Very friendly staff and very clean and nice hotel....high recommendly

Review 56:Very clean and nice. Front desk staff was very helpful. Excellent breakfast.

Review 57:Very nice hotel with a superb restaurant next to it. We really loved this place.

Review 58:Nothing

Review 59:The hospitality and the location. The restaurant

The Fine Print
