Reviews for Granite Gardens Cottages

Review 1:Handy to everything, yet still in a lovely quiet location. The gardens are beautiful, great breakfast and comfy bed. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Very peaceful and relaxing break. Thank you

Review 2:Having to leave.

Review 3:We found this special place to be peaceful, with a home from home environment, in lush beautiful gardens filled daily with copious amounts of birds and song. The daily round of golf was great. A retreat for young, old and family. We stayed for a week and booked an extra night. Le Grand Paris studio is larger than the other cottages and extremely comfortable. Central to the whole region a very good base.

Review 4:The studio apartment type cabin layout was really well thought out and there was heaps of space. The cottage over looked a small lake and beautiful gardens which had parrots come in of an afternoon. Our host Ivan was really helpful with showing us around the property and giving us directions to wineries, brewery's and national parks. He even cut me some roses when we checked out the next day.

Review 5:we enjoyed the unit which was huge - it was set out with fully equipped kitchen and the lounge area was great as we had friends over and had enough room for everyone. all the little extras and breakfast was great. the owners we very welcoming and couldn't do enough to makes us comfortable.

Review 6:Peaceful, lovely gardens, lots of birds. Our accommodation was spacious, very clean, well equipped. Breakfast supplies were plentiful and yum. Managers were helpful and pleasant.

Review 7:No Vodafone service. The distance from town.

Review 8:It was peaceful, a nice outlook over a lake and gardens from our studio room, comfortable bed, friendly staff. Lots of birdlife to watch.

Review 9:It was a little too far off the beaten track and wasn't really close to anything.

Review 10:The cottage was well stocked with everything one could need for a short break of a few days, right down to freshly cooked home made bread, yum yum!! We enjoyed the warm fireplace which was well stocked with kindling. The experience was great all round with the most quite and peaceful atmosphere one could wish for. We would highly recommend this retreat.

Review 11:Whilst the wall air conditioner worked fine, the large open design of the cottage with tiled floors in the very cold weather failed to be cosy. Needing to have the noisey a/c on all the time meant that we were unable to enjoy the quiet of the location. Heating lights in the shower room would help lessen the icy temperature.

Review 12:The gardens were pretty especially at night. Being off the beaten track it was pleasantly quiet

Review 13:The shower pressure. Heater in the bathroom.

Review 14:The managers made our stay how hard they worked around the the gardens so friendly The lake and the fountain.

Review 15:Even though it was winter, the gardens were let down, but the new managers were doing a great job going about restoring them. The air-con unit was very noisy even in "quiet"mode. A fireplace in the studio unit would add some further ambiance. Breakfast was supplied once and not fresh everyday for the full stay.

Review 16:The cottages and studio unit had nice views of the pond and surrounding gardens with lots of native birds. It was also nice and quiet. The studio unit was very roomy, comfortable and well equipped. The new managers were very helpful and friendly.

Review 17:New caretakers were lovely, looked after all our needs. Supplied us with lots of wood for a warm fire.Beautiful spot. Highly recommend going back in 3 weeks.

Review 18:Would prefer accom closer to town Would prefer more comfortable lounge or lounge chairs to relax in The dvd choices

Review 19:The welcoming hosts, atmosphere, decor, breakfast and the extra touches like roses from the garden.

Review 20:While the broad view of the gardens is nice with it's lovely mature trees and lake, up close the garden beds show neglect.

Review 21:Squeaky clean cottage in top condition. Lovely quiet and relaxing country setting.

Review 22:Breakfast could be better sorted and thought through. Not sure why the owners consider 4 rashers of bacon, 4 eggs and 2 tomatoes would be sufficient for 2 people for 3 days.

Review 23:Cottage setting was excellent, ideal for a quiet getaway. Cottage very comfortable, but remember when booking that the layout means that the couple have to be comfortable with each other as the shower and basin are not screened off from the living area

Review 24:TV a little small and toilet seat wouldn't stay up

Review 25:It was good to stay here you are in the country with plenty of wildlife. When u arrive you receive a jar of bird seeds for the birds. Cottage was very clean one of the cleanest we stayed in. Only 7 kms to the middle of town. Full sized Kitchen big veranda good air con

Review 26:Disappointed there's no longer bread or breakfast as this was a real point of difference. Also neither the spa nor fireplace could be used due to water and seasonal restrictions. Pets shouldn't be $20 extra prefer included in price or a refundable bond for good behaviour.

Review 27:Attractive villas and garden/pond outlook from the balcony. Would say all 3 villas and 1 studio are actually "studios" as bed is in the main room. Studio is good if you don't want stairs. Lovely rose gardens and surrounds. Nice hosts.

Review 28:Sadly, the region experiences droughts so you can't take advantage of the spa baths when the property is on water restrictions.

Review 29:Freshly baked bread, ground coffee for the plunger provided, and bird seed to feed the huge array of gorgeous feathered friends who come to visit out the front of the cottage.

Review 30:Peaceful - no road or suburbia noise; lovely gardens; many birds; 9 hole golf course included in cost; fresh baked bread on arrival; good breakfast hamper included; very welcoming hosts

Review 31:The caretakers are so lovely and helpful. The breakfast was enough to feed an army and the studio cottage a comfy home away from home. Perfect location amongst lovely wildlife.

Review 32:Remote, quiet, and relaxing. lovely cottage with excellent facilities. Fridge stocked with all the best of breakfast foods, Great place to get away from the everyday stresses. Friendly and helpful staff to assist you in any way to help you enjoy your stay.

Review 33:Nothing. Perfect!

Review 34:If you're looking for comfortable quiet and only minutes from several excellent wineries, this is for you. You MUST go to Claudias for dinner (or lunch) it's only 3k away so is the closest eatery and is truely an experience not to be missed. Say hi to her from me. (Just mention the vege risotto and she'll remember). Stanthorpe is only 10 minutes away as well, the museum there is EXCELLENT! allow a couple of hours though, it's the best $7 you'll ever spend!
