Reviews for Hotel Ville Montefiori
Review 1:Fantastic location overlooking the lake, typically romantic Italy.Indoor pool was superb. Would definitely like to be treated to anotherstay, unforgettable.
Review 2:Location was not explained properly, everything was shoddy, groundsdirty and unkempt, floors dangerous, breakfast non existent, my list isendless, completely ruined our last night in Italy.
Review 3:Nothing, extremely disappointing from the minute we arrived, will neverstay here ever again.
Review 4:The hotel is on a fairly steep incline so if you have mobility problems you would need to taxi up and down. It's close to the centre of town but it's hilly. We travelled with my parents and they wouldn't have managed the walk. We are healthy 50 year olds but had a few stops to catch our breath. Still, we walked off all that pizza and it was well worth it.
Review 5:Everything. The staff were super, the hotel, gardens, terraces and views are beautiful. So romantic. We were here for our sons wedding and it was the perfect place to stay. Our room and en suite were stylish and spotless clean ( we had a deluxe with balcony and lake view) It's not right on the lake like the Grand Hotel but the views are still breathtaking.Continental breakfast is plentiful and as you would expect. If you want a full English you are at the wrong hotel. We will come back. The spa and pool are fab too! A large wine and beer are only 5 euro which was cheaper than our favourite cafe.
Review 6:Location uphill which made it difficult to walk (down and) up after visiting the village. We used the car to go to the village and parked at the entrance of it
Review 7:The breakfast is chaotic. Constant waiting for coffee, water, milk, bread - everything. A bit stressful, really. Concerning cleaning, it is not done properly. The floor in the room was dirty. Had not been washed for some time.
Review 8:The view is spectacular. The staff was friendly and easygoing, although we got the feeling that they were constantly understaffed. All in all, we enjoyed our stay.
Review 9:some areas of the hotel need attention. eg. too many tables on balcony which makes the hotel look empty.toilities in bathroom very very poor, and lack off. bath robe had a hole in it. mats outside the door to the room have never been hoovered for many weeks.
Review 10:location, hotel was wonderful.views were stunning. we booked a lake view superior room and were upgradded to a suite, which was a very nice surprise. We would return again
Review 11:Staff were excellent
Review 12:Superb hotel with lovely surroundings in a knocked about Italian way. Somewhere to stay to be pampered.
Review 13:Swimming pool is great
Review 14:WiFi - lack of.
Review 15:The setting overlooking Lake Garda and the peaceful beautiful site.
Review 16:Long climb up hill from the small town.
Review 17:The views of the lake.
Review 18:cushion, empty frigo bar
Review 19:location, swimming pool, spa
Review 20:Outdoor swimming pool needs to be heated. Lovely setting but cold.
Review 21:Loved the view and gardens and indoor pool.
Review 22:bathroom is getting a bit old.
Review 23:location and Claudio the waiter
Review 24:No problems at all.
Review 25:A beautiful hotel in a super location. Facilities were excellent.
Review 26:beautiful views, very helpful and kind staff..I arrived off season and it was a late booking, so they did not have the kitchen open, but the owner went and made me a plate of food anyway, very kind. The indoor pool looked beautiful and very welcoming, wished I had remembered my swimsuit!!
Review 27:What a nightmare!! First, let me say I am not posh, and I reallydon't mind staying in a Motel 6. I'm pretty easy, so when I sawbad reviews I thought people were being picky, but found out myselfunfortunately. 348, our room, was not vacuumed with bits everywhere, huge stains in the carpet. It was filthy, dusty, and decorated from an'80s skip. The bathroom was tiny, tub thick with grime (and I meantruly thick)! There were urine stains in the toilet. It was worse thancamping. How could it be four star?? To "upgrade" we were heldto ransom for 40 euro per night. In the next "Superior" room,206, we found feces in our toilet (true!), and it was all discolored sowe had to call the maid to clean it. We found 2 cockroaches in the room(which they tried to explain away...?), one by the door, one in thebathroom, stains on the towels, stains and holes in the sheets, nofridge (in a superior room), squeeky door that didn't shut properly,"heated" towel rail that had no power point, so not hot, aseverything was totally bodged. The place seriously needed anengineer...or at the very least to buy new sheets with the priceyou're paying! We felt itchy and unclean and trapped the wholetime...for 160 euro a night! (They have a 3-day cancellation policy sowe were truly trapped.) They charged 3 euro for tiny bottles of watertoo. We came out fleeced! We were dying to leave and it pretty muchruined our trip.
Review 28:The spa and pool seemed nice, but I would not stay in the hotel.
Review 29:The hotel looks quite pretty at first, but services fall short of the offer this hotel placed in booking.com .Photos of rooms do not reflect the reality, and description of services in booking.com is organized by this hotel as a deliberate deception.According to description in Booking.com standard double rooms of this hotel are to be 25 m., and in reality they were small (10 -13m), dusty rooms , equipped with very old shower cabins , old fashioned , dusty, noisy conditioners . We had to pay extra 50 EUR per night to receive a room, which we have chosen according to description at booking.com as standard double room. The hotel is located in mountains, 15 min. walk to the municipal beach (unbelievably small) and for people with children or older people it is a problem to get to the beach and back on foot.Breakfast is very poor and extremely expensive (always the same: two kinds of cheese, two kinds of sausage, two kinds of cakes, muesli, milk, bread, butter, jam and fruit, two kinds juice, water, tea and coffee are offered at request )Personal and the owner of the hotel seem to be quite happy with each other, but guests of the hotel are just victims of deliberate deception, placed by this hotel in booking.com.Never any treveller would choose this hotel if information about it in booking.com were true to life.
Review 30:Not that we didn't like, but more of an inconvenience and maybe we should have asked, but we were given one set of keys, and when we were out in separate groups, it was impossible to get back into the grounds and the apartment if you did not have a key. Two sets of keys would have made things easier for us. Even when using the pool, you needed a key to get back into the apartment. We managed.. Cleaner came in daily and it only looked like she made the beds and swept the floors. We really only needed this service once or twice during the week. It was a bit inconvenient to make sure you were not in when she wanted to clean. We really enjoyed our stay.
Review 31:We stayed in the hotel's apartment with our 3 teenage children (5 people) for one week in August 2013. Beautiful location, views of Lake Garda, used pool at the apartment daily, wifi available was BIG bonus for our teenagers, had everything we needed for the apartment. Friendly, helpful staff who were available on the phone since the apartment was not very near the main hotel. Clean, furnished apartment, easy to relax in the apartment and by the pool. Had a great week staying here. We didn't mind all the steps, barking neighbour dogs, etc. Great apartment if you are looking for self catering.
Review 32:The view over Lake Garda during dinner. When we asked for cheese instead of sweet deserts while having the 4 course set dinner, we got a wonderful cheese plate with the best cheeses Italy has to offer. Love to go back :))
Review 33:There were insufficient staff. Dinner scheduled for 8.30pm wasn't serveduntil 9.40pm by which time the kitchen was closed. The meal was verypoor and cold because there was only one waiter for 12 or more tables. The car parks are distant from the hotel and there were no porters The room was adequate but the bathroom lacked soap and the shower (in particular the shower heads) needed a thorough cleaning .
Review 34:The location
Review 35:Evening meals are not interesting - too much standardised not to offend anyone and no real choice, and on the expensive side too. As for languages, please don't assume we are German just because we aren't Italian and appear to speak a non English language (that was Dutch...) amongst ourselves.
Review 36:Hotel site is attractive, with many levels as it is built on a steep slope (be prepared to climb some steps). The outdoor swimming pool is big and well appointed. If you want it, the spa (with another indoor pool and gym) looked good too but we didn't use it (perhaps that made the hotel less value for money for us). The view from the restaurant terrace over Lake Garda is definitely the way to have breakfast.
Review 37:We were unable to find a taxi from Riviera Gardone to the hotel and thehotel was unhelpful when we phoned fro help. The climb upto the hotel ishard work without luggage and horrific with luggage!
Review 38:Once you had climbed the steep hill the view across Lake Garda wasmagnificent. The two swimming pools (in and out door) were both superb. The spa facilites were excellent and both the Turkish bath and saunawere free to residents. The set menu offered choice, variety and highquality every night and the service was excellent
Review 39:Not everything was functioning in the room (in a standard room - datedbath, no shower, curtains not working properly, not enough light in theroom, some problems with regulating the air conditioner), very steeproad when approaching the hotel (not suitable for people with walkingdifficulties or children if not traveling by car - it would be great ifthe hotel could provide a courtesy mini bus to get people up to thehotel a few times a day!), slow response of the staff (exceptreceptionist Sarah who was really helpful)
Review 40:Wonderful setting (gardens and surroundings), beautiful views andarchitecture, nicely arranged rooms and communal areas, very tastybreakfast (especially delicious cakes, bread and fresh fruit), abundantspace to wonder around the hotel, amazing spa center, relaxed atmosphere
Review 41:I thought it was absurd that they did not display prices- you didn't paywith cash, everything was charged to the room and the bill was very bigat the check out so be careful. They made you feel awkward asking forthe price as well, as if it wasn't a normal question. It is expensive todrink and eat here, and menu doesn't really have many choices. The poolis for good swimmers only, it's deep all the way.We are in our early thirties and were the youngest people there. It seems to be a place for older couples and groups. It didn't bother us, but since the hotel is on the hill there is a bit of a walk coming back.
Review 42:This is a beautiful hotel (although a bit tacky - there is a lot of pinkeverywhere) located on a hill with a great view of the lake. The staffwere friendly, and the facilities included a very nice outdoor andindoor pool, sauna, and you could also book a message. Quiet andcomfortable. Nice breakfast. The hotel is big enough for everybody andmost of the time we had the pool to our selves.
Review 43:Be aware that is a distance from the lake. To get back to the hotel you need to go on a steam road. Definately should be difficult for the older travellers.
Review 44:The hotel is a nice place to be: it definately was 4star in pasted years, but not nowadays. Currently you can feel that the owners are struggling to keep everything in order since the garden is huge. Anyhow we sent good time there, son loved the pool. Perfect location for a wedding celebration!!!
Review 45:The location is stunning with fantastic panoramic views over the lake, room was dated but was comfortable. Very quiet and peaceful location, very helpful and friendly staff, will come back for sure! Will never forget this 2 nights we stayed, thank you!
Review 46:Breakfast is quite poor, but you can enjoy it on the terrace in the sun, with the wonderful view on the lake.
Review 47:Great view from deluxe rooms with lake view. Very nice garden. GreatSpa. Quiet place to relax and enjoy the lake view.Half board with very tasty diner (starter, primo, secondo, dessert). Menu available in several language (italian, german, english, french). Price of the drinks is ok. 10-15 minutes walk from the lake where all the restaurant are. 10 minutes walk from the Vittoriale (also some restaurants there). Staff speaks italian, german, english and french. One of the most quiet place in Gardone.
Review 48:There weren't many guest as it is pre-season in March and we loved theatmosphere of the surrounded garden, plants and statues. The statueswere highley groomed and there are so many beautiful places and spotsthe relaxe and enjoy the view to the lake. The rooms were also very nice, in this nostalgic style we love so, and everything was clean - nothing to complain about! We used the swimming pool and spa which was probably very new and with plenty of extras as rain shower, shiny sky ceiling etc. Breakfast was in a good quality, we had these wonderful typical sweets (which must have been freshly made!!). Again, the view to the lake was astonishing. Staff and hotel manager are very friendly and even offered me free manicure for my birthday! Price/Performance ratio was absolutely granted and we will come back again!
Review 49:The breakfast was just fair..
Review 50:Staff were very helpful, panorama and garden outstanding, the kitchen is good, pool and the room very clean.
Review 51:some parts look worn out (due to the recession?) small choice for breakfast
Review 52:the ambiance
Review 53:the heating wasn't on in some parts of the hotel, but i guess it was beacuse it's winter.
Review 54:the location was simply amazing.
