Reviews for Hotel Aurora
Review 1:This was the fourth time I stayed at the Aurora, good location from the bus stop. It`s a nice, quiet place. I thought the breakfast was a little lighter than in the past, but it was December, and not many people were staying there. Spoleto is an easy stop to, or from Rome. Not a lot of major sights here, I like to hike in the mountains, and the Umbrian countryside. The new little restaurant across the street Prosciutteria, was really a good place to get a sandwich, or soup for lunch, 4 euro each, and they have four sizes of quality sliced cured meat and cheese boards, that I felt were a good value.
Review 2:Some noise from late night restaurant goers just down below Overall cleanliness of room could be a bit better
Review 3:Very kind staff...helpful, friendly Right in heart of historic center in Piazza Liberta
Review 4:We stayed only one night, but this is the hotel we'd love to visit again. The location in the main square was perfect and the breakfast was more than enough for us
Review 5:This time, we were put in room 63 which is substantially smaller thanother rooms in this hotel. The wifi did not work for a lot of the time, perhaps because the room is so far from the router in the lobby. Thebathroom was so small and narrow that my knees touch the wall sitting onthe toilet. You have to step over the toilet to get out of the shower. It is that small. Other rooms in the hotel are much nicer.
Review 6:Hotel Aurora is my favorite mid-price hotel in Spoleto, we have beenthere many times and prefer Aurora over Hotel Charleston and HotelAthena. It is well-located, friendly, and has a decent breakfastincluded. Most of the rooms are nice, though of course it is an oldbuilding and that is the standard.
Review 7:The shower screen in our bathroom was missing one side of the door, so when showering we had to ensure we didn't flood the bathroom. On our last night the toilet cistern continued to run making sleep near impossible, upon reporting it politely to the desk the gentleman seemed aware of it and sarcastically commented he couldn't fix 'because he wasn't a plumber - perhaps the various problems with the bathroom should've been addressed before the room was allocated to guests.
Review 8:Spoleto was a charming town, with fine food and impressive scenery. Hotel Aurora was well located and generally charming and offered a fine breakfast.
Review 9:Always stay here when we come to Orvieto. Nice quiet location close to the furnicular to the center, great cakes for breakfast, and kind staff. The hotel has been renovated and is comfortable and quiet.
Review 10:Perhaps some fresh fruit and tomatoes would be good. There is a restaurant in a square behind the building which was a little noise in the evening. But the noise ebbed off by 11:30pm.So it was not a big deal.
Review 11:The location was perfect for us. The hotel is right off the Piazza de Liberdad where one can easily park and unload the car. We had a rental car and we're worried about driving through the small streets. Parking was easy and just a stroll away through park (3 minutes). We could easily leave town to go to Orvieto, the marmore waterfalls, and Assisi. The hotel is centrally located to walk to all the sites in Spoleto. The room was very pleasant and it had a spacious bathroom. The room was clean. breakfast was good. they had a buffet with croissants, buns, home made cake and mascarpone and cheese, and great yoghurt. Staff was making fresh cappuccino or espresso. Staff was very friendly.
Review 12:Nothing not to like.
Review 13:Spoleto is a gorgeous town and this hotel is very centrally located.
Review 14:Room leads directly from the bar.
Review 15:Lovely breakfast
Review 16:Breakfast, tiny shower,
Review 17:Location
Review 18:seemed a little run down on arrival and could do with a freshen up
Review 19:good breakfast and location
Review 20:This hotel is WAY up the hill in Spoleto and as such is quite a climb! (they don't call them hill towns for nothing!) It is also rather hard to find, the entrance being down a small alley way off of Piazza della Liberta, ask a local for directions!
Review 21:The bathroom was very tired looking. The shower had black mould in the corners and crevices and if you wanted hot water, it came out in a dribble. We seemed to have no control over the heating in our room and so some nights we were quite cold. WiFi was intermittent.
Review 22:The Aurora has an excellent location near all the main sites. The staff are very friendly. The rooms are a good size and pleasantly furnished.. The location is peaceful. Breakfast is typically Italian eg synthetic orange juice etc. however, unlike most Italian hotels, proper coffee is offered to everyone.
Review 23:No escalators for the top floor.
Review 24:Central location set within the historical centre, pleasant room with a balcony, good breakfast, helpful staff and it is not large and impersonal.
Review 25:It does not worry me, but there is no lift.
Review 26:This hotel is located within the walls but is set back through an archway from the street, so apart from some noise from the lane way behind it is peaceful for an Italian hotel. Staff are always present and are obliging, although not a lot of English is spoken. Breakfast is comprehensive, in the Italain style.
Review 27:Central location close to the tourist information in the old part of the town. Clean, simple rooms. excellent self service breakfast. Have stayed several times already.
Review 28:The proximity to one of the city's best restaurants, just around the corner and down a little street. Breakfast was adequate but nourishing. Would loved to have had some fresh fruit. It doesn't seem like too much to ask for.
Review 29:There was no lift ,and for some people with mobility problems there wasno help with luggage. No bath ,and the shower space was small. No loungefor group to relax .
Review 30:It's location was excellent, being just a few yards from a roman teat toand museum and within easy reach of other sights. There were many goodvalue restaurants nearby, and the place had an easy relaxed atmosphere.
Review 31:Chose for price, location, and that it's a historical building. Staff isvery welcoming and helpful, with a little English. Way better than myItalian, though. Bed was great, baths may vary. Mine was long andnarrow. No one bigger than I or less limber could move around in it, butit was actually large. The breakfast is probably more varied than usual.Lots of types of pastry, but also meats and cheese and dry cereal. Nohotel could be cleaner. Yes, parking! They use a city lot a few blocksaway, but give you the ticket, you're billed later, and there is amoving sidewalk coming back! Just 3 euros a day.
Review 32:i thoroughly enjoyed my time at the hotel. Great location, great breakfast and great value for money. Spoleto itself is a little treasure and is ideal for those wanting some peace and quite from the hustle bustle.
Review 33:no internet in the room, and not much A/C on a hot day so room was quite warm
Review 34:Great location, nice clean room, helpful staff
Review 35:Quiet, large clean room. Good breafast.
Review 36:This was our second stay at Aurora after a three year gap. Nothing has changed - everything added up the great value for money in this lovely town.
Review 37:Good position for visiting the old town.
