Reviews for Palazzo Leti Residenza d'Epoca
Review 1:Everything was perfect. It's difficult not to feel wonderful in a place full of character and harmony. It was a little difficult to arrive with the car, because the streets are extremely narrow.
Review 2:The hotel is beautiful and decorated both in an elegant and warm and comfortable way. The view of Spoleto was astonishing! The location was amazing- 1 minute from the Mercato. Breakfast was also great. Highly recommended.
Review 3:Terrific hotel - we were staying in a castle before Palazzo Leti, and felt like we had simply moved from country to urban area without any sacrifice of attention to detail and history as well as comfort.
Review 4:The streets leading to the hotel are of thetypical hilltop town variety i.e. very narrow! So driving our medium sized car into the parking area outside the hotel was difficult but we made it unscathed.
Review 5:This is a very elegant hotel. We loved the views from our room and the terrace where we had our breakfast. Would definitely recommend Palazzo Leti.
Review 6:Not the hotels fault but it would have been useful to have a clearer idea of the difficulty of getting a car to the hotel once in the town, for a foreigner
Review 7:Beautiful location. Very relaxing.
Review 8:We had some difficulties with the parking, but the locator helped us. If I had to find a "negative" aspect, it would be the shortness of tables for the breakfast.
Review 9:Excellent location in the center city of Spoleto, warming and luxury accomodation.
Review 10:The only slight negative is the narrow access road & parking but our host took over this for us so it wasn't an issue
Review 11:Beautiful Palazzo, decor & facilities excellent with charming hosts who did everything to make your visit excellent
Review 12:Absolutely perfect location. Beautiful garden overlooking the Umbrian hills. Very nice staff who offered great suggestions for day tours and in town restaurants. We spent 5 days there and used it as a centerpoint for day trips to other Umbrian towns. Turned out to be the right decision. Spoleto is wonderful town for home base. Reaching the hotel by car is tricky so get good directions beforehand and be prepared for some tight turns. Or call the owners from the arrival point and ask for help.
Review 13:The only downside is that parking a car is difficult. It is Italy,,, so,,, you got to expect this,,,
Review 14:The setting for this bed and breakfast is beautiful, with amazing views. It is also very close to all the restaurants in the area, as well as the castle. We also had one of the best diners in a nearby restaurant that the hotel recommended.
Review 15:The beautiful setting of the Palazzo, the attention to detail put into the décor of the place, the vicinity to all tourist attractions and restaurants in Spoleto, and most of all the outstanding hospitality of the owners.
Review 16:Nothing.
Review 17:The Palazzo is beautiful and the bed divine. The owners/hosts are so nice and kind. Breakfast delicious. Location most convenient for visiting Spoleto.
Review 18:Our room looked out on the small street and we got a bit of street noise. Everything else was wonderful.
Review 19:Beautiful terrace, elegant appointments, and very helpful hosts.
Review 20:We stayed one night & found the hotel lovely. Warmly greeted and helped with car parking. The outside garden was stunning and we enjoyed some pre dinner drinks. Our room was fine with window over looking hills. Lots of dining options just few mins walk down road made dinner easy. Breakfast was good. I'd recommend this hotel if you are coming to Spoleto
Review 21:Finding the Palazzo in the car and parking is a challenge.
Review 22:Lovely room, very welcoming owners and staff, excellent breakfast, easy walking access to the town for restaurants and shops
Review 23:3) Palazzo Letti, Umbria: Rarely are your expectations of lodging booked online exceeded to the degree that my wife and mine were upon our arrival at Palazzo Letti. The structure itself is more than impressive. The medieval architecture made you feel like you had stepped back in time to the days of European Elegance you only read about in a romance novel. In addition, the projectors, John Paulo and Laura, were as gracious and welcoming as you could ever imagine. Our suite was spacious and beautifully appointed with rich, dark European antiques and appointments. The rough-hewn authentic beamed ceiling itself took you back to a time when true craftsmanship was the order of the day We highly recommend Palazzo Letti for anyone who loves .. the best.
Review 24:It was difficult to find and because it was described as being a distance away from the center, I assumed we were outside the walls, which we would have preferred. Perhaps I just missed reading that little detail? Being inside the walls with a car, especially if it is a little on the larger size, is very difficult as most walled cities are a labyrinth of roads! As a result, instead of taking the car out one of the afternoons to explore the other walled cities nearby, we just stayed put for two days inside Spoleto.
Review 25:The Palazzo Leti was amazing! To walk through that archway and see the gardens and the view was even more beautiful than described! Pictures do not do it justice. The breakfast included was lovely, with a choice to sit inside or out on the terrace. The owners have obviously put their heart and soul into restoring this beautiful place.
Review 26:Difficult to locate with gps, however owner came to find us and escort us back to the Palazzo. Breakfast disappointing. little fruit, no plain yogurt or fresh juices.
Review 27:location stunning. Staff very helpful room spacious although a bit badly lit.
Review 28:plastic Jacuzzi bath totally out of character for the bathroom. Coffee on arrival charged for not necessary considering the price of the room. Breakfast nothing special. Dont visit in a big car difficult streets to negotiate. Town is charming.
Review 29:room was out of the ordinary nice old furniture big bed
Review 30:Absolutely nothing.
Review 31:Just what we wanted, perfect location, wonderful owners and staff, beautifully restored palace gave us the charming Italian experience that we were after. Such a relief after leaving Rome. We only stayed for one night, found a beautiful restaurant very close by for dinner and breakfast on the terrace was breathtaking. Wish could have stayed longer. HIGHLY recommend!
Review 32:We enjoyed our stay in palazzo. Location very scenic and quiet. The proprietors very friendly couple. They have good command of the English language. I would recommend this Bed and Breakfast to all my friends.
Review 33:Fantastic hotel, its location is exceptional, with fantastic views. Both the lady and gentleman at the desk were extremely helpful. Parking, albeit tight outside is extremely handy. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough.
Review 34:I love the quietness of the surroundings. Driving up from Rome, it's a surprising and pleasant change! The hotel is amazingly restored. Enjoyed the garden too! The host and owner was very kind and friendly. He gave us good directions and even helped us with our gps before we went to Siena. Wish we stayed longer though.
Review 35:Everything. The owners were the most perfect example of management of a small luxurious hotel. Their courtesy and charm were a delight. Their diligence to detail could be seen everywhere.
Review 36:Beautiful location in Spoleto, a true palazzo! I would recommend this hotel to all for its beautiful style, friendliness of the people and the relaxing atmosphere and beautiful view from the terras
Review 37:The property is just gorgeous - an understated elegance! The furnishings are exquisite and the hosts are so lovely. The location is wonderful and the outside terrace is gorgeous - looking onto the most magnificent scenery. I loved it!
Review 38:Our charming hosts could not have been more helpful. Before we arrived, they willingly responded to our call for help when we were lost and having car trouble.
Review 39:There is nothing 'not good' about the place, or the staff or owners, at all ... perhaps it was just missing a certain 'je ne sais pas' for us. Although we liked the place, we were not 'charmed' by anything superlative - but perhaps we were spoilt by all the other absolutely fabulous places we stayed?
Review 40:This was not the greatest hotel we stayed in whilst in Italy (but we stayed in a lot of hotels!) but it is a very nice place. I'm not sure we will be returning to Spoleto, however if we do we would probably stay here rather than take a chance on something else ... so I guess this is a 'high warm' recommendation?!
Review 41:- Historical building in a great location. - very friendly owner couple
Review 42:overall excellence and care
Review 43:Recommended to use very small car or taxi(much better).
Review 44:Exellent view and old city Exellent garden and breakfast

Review 62:The garden is great!
Review 63:A perfect model for what one hopes to find in Italy.
Review 64:Main road noise
Review 65:Great hosts Garden A walk away from the sights Parking next to Hotel
Review 66:The ambiance, service, charm, and location
Review 67:Everything was wonderful. The owners' considerate and consistent attention to our comfort and satisfaction was much appreciated.
Review 68:nothing
Review 69:Beautiful location with gracious owner/hosts and clean luxurious accomadations!
Review 70:Relaxing in a quiet part of the city while still being in close proximity to the main attractions.
Review 71:We stayed in the room in the annexe across the garden from the main part of the hotel. This room has its own seating area in the garden with a great view of the Monteluco hill and woods. The hotel is at almost the highest part of town, within a few minutes walk of the duomo and the Ponte delle Torri. There is a good choice of restaurants in the town.
Review 72:The bed was a little harder than we are used to but that is just a personal preference.
Review 73:The owners & staff were wonderfully helpful - they parked our car, made dinner reservations and great touring suggestions. The grounds and view were spectacular and the room we had was small but lovely. It was a highlight of our travel through Italy and want to thank them again for a wonderful 3 days.
Review 74:Absolutely nothing! The hotel stay was perfect!
Review 75:This hotel is a dream come true! The view is magnificent and the hotel is absolutely gorgeous! We enjoyed every minute of our stay and will plan to come back and stay for at least a week. The hotel owners are so sweet and helpful and even picked us up at the train station when there were no taxis available. We had the best meal of our entire 16 day stay in Italy at one of the restaurants in Spoleto.
Review 76:To get to this residence requires some very skilfull manoeuvring through the very narrow streets around it - a bit difficult when you have a big car, but the manager helped a lot and got us in safely:).
Review 77:Beautiful! Classy and upmarket rooms - delicious sweeties in the room - extra detail makes it great. They recommended a wonderful restaurant just 100m from the residence - we had on of our top 3 best meals in the entire italy here!!
Review 78:Jhon Paulo and Laura were the perfect hosts and looked after us very well. I would highly recommend this place to any traveler. Very clean and comfortable place
Review 79:hotel is hard to find and driving in the old city is difficult the first time. owners walked to our car and drive us in very tight parking area. very helpful and gracious hosts. large room excellent breakfast. will come back.
Review 80:Might be nice to have an alarm clock in the room? A very small suggestion.
Review 81:Everything! The setting, the room, the town, the recommendations, the customer service, the owners' charm, and so forth
Review 82:Nothing!
Review 83:Wonderful period boutique hotel in the perfect position in the Centro Storico. The weekend we visited was very cold, but the hotel was warm and comfortable throughout. We had booked a superior room, but were upgraded at no extra cost to a delux room - a real treat!
Review 84:There were a few things I could do without: there was the forced ventilation in the bathroom, to be in total tranquility one must keep the lights off. The bed frame protruded from the mattress, lending to bumping into. The blankets were polyester despite such an excellent quality of bathroom supplies. There was a distant busy road seen and heard from the window but it is far enough (a few hundred meters) to be really disturbing. It did not intrude on the in-room tranquility and sleep. Breakfast was rather frugal, even by the current Italian standards for this type of hotels. The most significant drawback of the whole experience was the extremely difficult approach to and from the hotel on car, the streets are very narrow indeed! My Audi A4 hardly made it; it was a super-modern a rental car with a hand brake being a button which functioned in a complicated way that I did not know entirely, and leaving the hotel I had a very hard time navigating the very sharp and narrow left downhill turn. It is not a hotel's fault of course, rather my own awkwardness, but this is a warning to those who drive in cars with which they are not totally familiar - the challenging steep narrow roads of Spoleto are truly of the black diamond slalom degree of driving difficulty. The hotel however is very good overall, recommended.
Review 85:Overall Palazzo Leti was a very good hotel, it met my expectations for a hotel of character, charm and tranquility. My room #403 was spacious, with under-roof high ceiling with open beams and a splendid view from the window. I was glad to discover the mosquito net on the window, a great and rare thing in Italy. It was very quiet throughout my one day/night stay, I could rest and relax at any given time. It was one of the best sleeps in my one and a half month voyage in Italy, due to the tranquility and peacefulness in the room and the hotel. I value tranquility at a hotel as one of the most treasured assets, it is a priority for me. The bed was very comfortable. There were also a very good desk and a chair, prefect for any computer work; a big wardrobe for clothes and a minifridge. The room overall was tastefully furnished and the lobby, too, was decorated with elegance. Those were the best towels among the hotels of this voyage, truly luxurious; also the most elegant toiletries, very high quality. The bathroom was pleasant with a bathtub which is always was great to have. The proprietor Signor Gianpaolo provided a wire for the internet, although there was also WiFi, and I loved this cable/wired internet for my computer so that I could finally use e-mail and Internet normally and efficiently without typical wifi hurdles in hotels. The location was excellent, close to Duomo and all the major sights in Spoleto. The garden was marvelous, and the wall separated the building from the rest of city, providing for peace and quiet. Checkout at noon was generous and appreciated. Service was attentive and discreet throughout; Mr. Gianpaolo manages to park the cars for free just outside of the hotel's gates. I enjoyed my stay and I'd stay there again.
Review 86:Plenty of parking, tight spaces, tough to find in the castle town
Review 87:J. Pablo, the consummate host. Great breakfast, awesome location in Spoleto, we stayed in the annex, off of the main house for full privacy. Incredible
Review 88:Bed was uncomfortable after a few nights.
Review 89:Lovely view from the upper rooms. Great garden with view. Very close to the castle and bridge. Very elegant small hotel.
Review 90:Some of the rooms are extremely small. Make sure to get an upgraded room. It seems a bit overpriced for what you get.
Review 91:Lovely renovated palace at a nice location. Very nice breakfast.
Review 92:You enter into a Palazzo with a "giardino all'Italiana with putti and fountains" where you receive a personal hospitality. Great base to see the surrounding. Do not miss it.
Review 93:Approach to hotel with a large people carrier a bit hairy but owner reversed car out of hotel car park for us.
Review 94:Fabulous location Friendly helpful staff Beautiful room Breakfast outside overlooking spectacular scenery Small hotel
Review 95:People who book must be aware that the hotel is located in arestricted zone (no problem, the hotel informs the police) and thatcirculation uphill is a bit complicated, one has to be careful to thered light. It would be nice if people who arrive late had thepossibility to have a snack.
Review 96:The location is awesome. The owners fine, discreet people, but alsoready to help. One has a being at home feeling. Breakfast on the terraceis a must.
Review 97:The owners have splendidly designed the hotel so that the amazing surroundings (hills, mountains, countryside) can be seen from each room and from the beautifully conceived courtyard garden & patio. Pleasant, comfortable rooms. Spacious bathrooms. Relaxing, but also breath-taking views. Owners are superb hosts.
Review 98:We booked one of the better rooms and for the price I was expecting something spectacular. Instead I got a nice but basic hotel room with a massive old fashoned telly, we covered it with a table cloth, it was so hidious. The view from the window was, well, the window of the apartment accross the road. We asked for a different room but were told the only one was an extra 90E and that was doing us a favour. We had a look and it was bigger and had better view but these were though pokey little windows. When we looked on booking.com we saw the annex was available for 10E more. I concuded that the proprieter was more interested in profit than my happiness. One morning at breakfast other diners where eating in the small breakfast room, there had been a little rain. We went to sit outside and they begrudgingly, so it seemed, set the table for us. Views from the Garden are very good, but that is it, its difficult to use the garden as there are no seats and the patio is hogged at all times by the owners. They claim to be 24h, they are not. If you ask they will get up and let you out. who wants to wake up staff, you would feel awful. It is a massive walk from the station, no mention on the hotel site of the lifts though.
Review 99:Garden and views from garden are great.
Review 100:Very beautiful hotel, owner was extremely helpful. Staying at Pallazzo Leti was very special and the grounds are wonderful. We enjoyed our location in Spoleto and would love to come back.
Review 101:It is a little hard to find. Once we understood that the one lane roads went both way but you had to wait for the light to change for the direction you wanted to go in, we were fine.
Review 102:The hotel had a spectacular view and was well situated for visiting the sights in Spoleto. It was beautifully decorated, the breakfast was great and the bath was up to date. We upgraded to a room that was large and had a couch as well as a desk and had wonderful decoratively painted walls, ceiling and furniture. The owner was very helpful with directions, suggestions, and restaurant reservations.
Review 103:We can't speak highly enough of Palazzo Leti. It is a beautifulperiod residence in a great location; easy walking distance to all themajor attractions in Spoleto. It is also a great base for exploringsurrounding towns in Umbria by car. The owners are incredibly friendlyand helpful, and the whole operation runs seamlessly. Our room waslarge, beautifully furnished, airy and spotlessly clean, with fantasticviews of the surrounding countryside. We had rented a large car, whichwas a bit of a challenge to drive in the very narrow streets, but theowner was amazingly helpful, parking it for us each night and turning itaround in the tight car park. We are likely to return to Spoleto in thefuture and would not contemplate staying anywhere else.
Review 104:No problems with the hotel but the streets are very narrow and bitharrowing to drive. But the owner made it O.K. by parking the car for useverytime we returned to the hotel.
Review 105:This was a beautiful place to stay with a gorgeous view. The garden waslovely. The breakfast buffet was very good. Room was very clean (alittle small) and had a great view from window. The owners always wentout of their way to be extremely helpful. When we had a problem with afuse in our car, they immediately called a friend at a repair place tofix it right away. Both the husband and wife are so gracious and nicethat we hope to stay there again.
Review 106:There is nothing whatever wrong with the hotel, but its position in the centre of an Umbrian hill-town of course makes it necessary to negotiate several narrow streets to get to it. There is a complicated one way system in Spoleto and none of the street maps we had showed this. There are signs for the Duomo and City Centre which you can follow to get to the hotel. It is best to leave the motorway by the southern exit which is better for getting to the hotel than the northern one.
Review 107:A delightful hotel in a beautiful 17th century palazzo. The garden is charming and restful, even though the hotel is in the city centre, and the view from our large, high-ceilinged "superior" room across the valley was stunning. The staff were all most kind and helpful. They also arranged permits for us to park very nearby without extra charge. Our room was immaculately clean, the bath towels sparkling white and soft. Breakfast was delicious and could be taken on the terrace in front of the garden. The hotel is very well positioned for the Duomo and Castle, and for several good restaurants - our favourite was the excellent Osteria Al Bacco Felice just below the Duomo.
Review 108:On reflection it was quite expensive, though I'm not sure how it compares to other hotels in Spoletto (it may be a particularly expensive area of Italy).
Review 109:Good location in our favourite Umbrian town. Spoletto is a great base to explore the area and Palazzo Leti's amazing garden terrace is an amazing place to relax in the early evening if you've had a tiring day. Not all the staff spoke English but they were very helpful.
Review 110:- Very elegant hotel with well-appointed rooms - Good location above the old town, a short walk from the Rocca and Ponte delle Torre, with beautiful views of the nearby mountains from the terrace - A nice breakfast
Review 111:Our group of three couples enjoyed very much our stay at the Leti. Therooms were spotless and comfortable, the staff was exceptionally helpfulto us and friendly and the location was within walking distance of theimportant sights of Spoleto. The small outside garden was delightful, and breakfat on the terrace was most enjoyable. The owner went out ofhis way to helop one of us who had broken his eyeglasses. We would allgo back to the Leti on any future trip to the Lei and will recommend itto our friends.
