Reviews for Albornoz Palace Hotel

Review 1:The bar not being open except on request, hotel lacked ambience and character, no suitable reading lights and lighting levels in room generally very poor, sounded like a waterfall inside our bedroom walls when neighbours flushed toilets - right next to our heads when in bed.

Review 2:Wonderful view, near road, easy walking to all the great restaurants and bars in the old town centre, secure free hotel parking, nice staff - youngest breakfast waitor with dark brown hair was always welcoming and friendly. Price was fantastic good value.

Review 3:The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and helped me with my transfer and other reservations as I didn't speak Italian. My room had a beautiful view. Great value

Review 4:Location was good, 10 minutes walk from the old town so nice and quiet. Spacious bedroom, very comfortable with lovely mountains view. Breakfast was copious with very helpful staff both at breakfast and on the front desk. Secure parking was an added bonus.

Review 5:The only really disconcerting experience was going down to breakfast one morning to find the breakfast room was reserved for teams of Italian footballers. We were obliged to share a table with a team from Verona who were probably as disconcerted as we were. Fortunately one gentleman spoke excellent English so we were able to break the ice and have a conversation. On the following day the dining room was made available to the other guests. The other disconcerting incident was our realization that a school party of Italian teenagers had booked in. Fortunately they were confined to the bottom two floors and they did not disturb us. Towards the end of our stay the garage became rather cramped but there was an overspill secure parking lot.

Review 6:The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was spacious with unusual décor. Our room was large with a balcony and had two easy chairs. There was a kettle so we could make a hot drink.

Review 7:I did have a bad experience but it was nothing to do with the hotel !!!

Review 8:The attention to detail everywhere The "unexpectnes" of 'little' things......delightful surprises wherever you looked.....

Review 9:This is only a minor criticism, but I felt for a modern hotel priding itself on contemporary art the furniture was a little outdated.

Review 10:A clean and comfortable hotel, with free WiFi, parking, and friendly staff.

Review 11:Breakfast a bit poor, not a lot of choice - bread ran out one day!

Review 12:Location , just on the dge of town but a pleasant walk into it through the park. The contemporary art work around the hotel is amazing, appearing in the most unexpected places. huge comforatble room with balcony and lovely views over the umbrain countryside.

Review 13:A lot of building parts are made from metal and you can hear how this parts going hot or cold, but it is not very disturbing.

Review 14:Modern hotel is very close to the city center. Staff is very helpful. Breakfast is possible outside in the garden. Hotel has a nice swimming pool.

Review 15:Hotel and the room were clean but there starts to be a need for a facelift. Still ok though. Breakfast was very basic and fresh product (fruits, bread) availability was either limited or none.

Review 16:Spacious room with a splendid panoramic view over the old town, castle and bridge. The art installations were interesting and some of them even very nice. Nice garden with pool. Easy entry from the main road but not so close that it would have been disturbing. Big underground carage - do not get confused with the Alcatraz type of entry.

Review 17:Not much! it is a little way out of town with a slightly up hill walk but that is a very minor issue, and the hotel gym air-conditioning was never on when I or my partner went there to exercise!

Review 18:Most of it ! the quirky art all around the place, the large modern and comfortable room, the location which is quiet with great views, the helpful reception staff, cheery suport staff and the breakfasts!

Review 19:Breakfast was slightly limited but perfectly adequate.

Review 20:The hotel is excellently located close to the main bypass allowing easy access to many of the stunning locations and visitor attractions around the Vale of Spoleto. The hotel has a rather contemporary style which may not be to everyone's taste but once inside its vast open plan in polished stone with interesting modern artworks is attractive. The rooms are modern and spacious and we enjoyed a wonderful view of the castle. Garage parking also was an added bonus.

Review 21:The modern look and art displays coupled with friendly efficient service. Great location just off motorway and a short walk to walled town

Review 22:The art in hotel is brilliant

Review 23:Breakfast, facilities for dinner

Review 24:Staff

Review 25:Extremely small TV and many details not at a 4star level (regarding furniture, facilities, services, ecc)

Review 26:Location, free parking, room size, breakfast

Review 27:More service required for breakfast

Review 28:The property interior design is beautiful

Review 29:Comfortable room Friendly staff Good food

Review 30:Everything good

Review 31:Friendly helpful staff

Review 32:Atmosphere was non existent. The worst hitel breakfast we have ever been offered.

Review 33:Location. Some friendly staff

Review 34:Hotel is full of modern art and generally has a style Location is good if you are with car

Review 35:Some of the stuff in the room needs a bit of renovation but overall good

Review 36:Close to town 7min walking but at the same time far

Review 37:Location, garage

Review 38:excellent breakfast, comfortable room and small but useful outdoor swimming pool

Review 39:Management of the parking lot is a mess. My vehicle was blocked for hours by another car. The restaurant and breakfast room are all but cozy. The bar was small and I never managed to get a drink there as it closes so early. Definitely not up to the advertised 4 star rating.

Review 40:OK room. Close to city centre. Helpful and friendly staff.

Review 41:We were very pleasantly surprised by all aspects of this hotel goven the price (77€) we paid. We didn't realize until we arrived that it was 4-star, and it deserved the rating.

Review 42:Nothing in particular, but be aware it´s a little stroll outside the centre.

Review 43:Easy access if you come by car with parking downstairs. Parking in Spoleto is in general tricky. Rooms are nice and comfortable, breakfast OK, staff very helpful etc.

Review 44:Furniture, room TV, telephone and facilities are old / outdated. Internet is almost not available. It was very noisy; you could hear all corridor chats. Services are very standard. No activities are provided to make the stay special.

Review 45:friendly reception staff.Parking availability (in & out door). Hotel Located 7 minutes walking distance from center Spoleto.

Review 46:Taste in art is very personal, and the art and decoration of room was to us, depressing, dark, and uncomfortable. Lighting in room problematic, and not good enough to read in comfort. Breakfast was sparse at the w/end - with a lack of attention to filling up the fruit bowls etc. (in spite of 2 flunkeys in D.J.'s). Coffee machine in a top class hotel? Also lack of attention to detail (sticky spoons in fruit bowl at breakfast). Lack of info on meals/times/facilities in room. Suggest management consult Hotel Dei Duchi regarding suitable breakfast arrangements.

Review 47:Reception staff helpful, and when we had to leave a day early this was reflected in he final price. Position is good, just on the edge of Spoleto. Parking was unproblematic and secure.

Review 48:The 2 dogs in the room down the hall that woke up at 5 am each day!

Review 49:What an amazing surprise, contemporary art as far as the eye can see. Excellent rooms and facilities, attentive staff, exceptional restaurant, strong WIFI everywhere. Secure parking. 300 metres to the Spoleto Old City Gates.

Review 50:- The hotel is quite large and even in the high season largely empty with apparently some floors or wings completely closed. This gives a general lack of atmosphere in the hotel. - The hotel needs some maintenance and refurbishment of its rooms. - I guess that the tube-TVs in the rooms should also be considered as contemporary art works nowadays? - The breakfast is really basic. The self-service coffee machine is way off Italian standards for coffee.

Review 51:The hotel is located in a nice area in the very south of Spoleto. The art works inside and outside of the hotel give this place a nice touch. Rooms are somewhat small, with outdated furniture, but comfortable. Personnel is friendly and helpful. The hotel has a nice terrace outside, a nice garden with a well maintained (but small) swimming pool.

Review 52:The food was very poor, the evening meal had few choices and some of those were not available The breakfast was very basic, coffee from a d-i-y machine, tinned fruit..more like a motel than a 4* hotel, it was a shame. Stay here but do not eat in!

Review 53:The rooms were very spacious and had contemporary art works on the walls. Its situation just on the outskirts of Speloto made a very quick and easy walk into the town centre.

Review 54:Internet was very, very slow which was frustrating as we were booking our travel night by night through Umbria and Tuscany. Staff was great about helping us print next booking and program GPS>

Review 55:Great location to see Orvieto historical center. Staff speaks excellent English and very helpful. Garage makes parking easy. We had a beautiful view of the garden from our room. Very comfortable bed and stay.

Review 56:The swimming pool was suddeny closed on decision of the directors onseptember 14. All seats outside were gone with exception of 2 on my ownrequest. The days after temparature was still 26 degrees. On thebooking.com website nothing was mentioned regarding closing the swimmingpool. Complaints were neglected. Strange decision as the next hotel wewere in stil has swimming pools open till end of Sepember.

Review 57:Very nice hotel with much of modern art decorations. Spatious rooms.Collazione is typical Umbria and basic.

Review 58:Fantastic Hotel. Very individual, very memorable. Extraordinary exhibitions of contemporary art. Some hidden delight around every corner. Very helpful Reception Staff Very good breakfast choice and service Located near excellent array of restaurants. Very good access from motorway, so the hotel is very easy to locate. Wonderful views of countryside from our hotel room.

Review 59:Room was very small, air conditioning difficult to control

Review 62:peace and quiet

Review 63:The relaxed elegance, the art exhibit, the attentive service

Review 64:sfeerloos hotel
