Reviews for Hotel Laura
Review 1:The location was just very bad! Rooms also of very poor standard. I wouldn't have considered this hotel to be 3 star! - If i had to honestly rate it, I would have said 1 star or none at all
Review 2:It was a cheap hotel and I guess that's the kind of accommodation you get for cheap prices
Review 3:It's written that the airport is closer than what it really is.
Review 4:Clean and staff was nice, even though I asked for the alarm clock service and they forgot.
Review 5:The room was small and the bathroom is a closet. Expect a no frills stay (no complementary lotion, iron, tea/coffee, water, hair dryer, etc). Was not easy to get to from Ciampno Airport (unless you pay £20-30 euro for a 6 minute drive) since the shuttle wasn't running to Ciampino station.
Review 6:The staff was friendly and it was a minutes walk from Ciampino station. Grocery store and a pizzeria were close and opened until around 8pm.
Review 7:Nothing to be honest
Review 8:Location, staff ( forgot his name, he s romanian, black heai ) wasamazing very helpful. Great room and comfort for the price you pay
Review 9:Beware of rip off local taxi cabs at night when there are no buses (not the hotel fault). Rooms have paper thin walls and the antics of other late night guests kept me awake. Not fun. Bathroom was tiny and mouldy. Paint/plaster was peeling from the walls in the room. Room lighting very poor. The room smelt of a sewer - most off putting.
Review 10:Quite close to the Ciampino airport. Good cheap bus service in daytime to airport.
Review 11:wi-fi doesn't work properly; dirty room; noise from the aiport (you hear every plane landing and taking off)
Review 12:location - really close to the CIA airport
Review 13:Neighborhood around hotel is a little sketchy. Not a lot of restaurants or shops. Had to eat at random Chinese restaurant. Staff was there to check us in but wasn't very friendly or helpful. Had to force answers out of him. Door to the hotel is hard to find which should of been a bad indication alone. Rooms are clean but extremely outdated and uncomfortable. Wifi did not work. No English channels.
Review 14:The hotel was clean and safe and extremely close to the airport
Review 15:The walls are paper thin, it's not nice place to sleep. It was difficult to find, it's in a plaza and the graffiti on the wall is bigger.
Review 16:It's a place to crash and it's clean.
Review 17:The entrance was a little hard to find, maybe some bigger signage at the front would be helpful.
Review 18:The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and the location for the airport early in the morning was ideal.
Review 19:It could be better when it comes about the comfort of the rooms, it was cold and a little 'smelly'. Also, the entrance should be more visible. We had some problems to find it.
Review 20:The romanian young receptionist was so good with us. Really helpful and polite. We're so thankful! Also, the hotel is close to the airport and has good prices.
Review 21:But to get to airport early in the morning is difficult. The staff was asked to call a taxi, but he call some gay who asked to pay 20 еur. for 4,5 km.
Review 22:Hotel is near airport.
Review 23:The entrance was hard to find, looked like apartments, not sure which buzzer to push. Greeting was polite, but did not appreciate someone shouting instructions from an upper floor and using my first name. The room was drab, no lampshade at my bedside, the bathroom light flickered and worked with expelaire, it was also very noisy. A lot of noise very late, early morning.
Review 24:The bed was comfy, and well located, being able to walk to local shops and pizzerias etc., convenient for ciampino
Review 25:Hard to find entrance. There have been no repairs in the room for quite a time. Specific smell in the room. Bad ratio price\quality.
Review 26:Location near the airport was ideal for our last night. Polite reception. Good Wi-Fi.
Review 27:Not really nice surroundings, the whole building looked like there have been no repairs for quite a time. Bathroom was not clean, breakfast looked very bad, we had no courage to try...
Review 28:Quick check in
Review 29:There was not enough information on the hotel website about the Shuttle Buses from the airport to Ciampino town where the hotel is located and we ended up spending EUR 25 on a taxi when the bus was only EUR 1.5.
Review 30:Location near the airport was ideal for our last night as we had a very early flight the following morning.
Review 31:Couldn't get the heating on. No soap or glass provided. Old furniture with a specific smell to it.
Review 32:Connection with the airport through a shuttle bus from the train station which was 3 minutes walk from the hotel. Very helpful receptionist .
Review 33:It is what it is! It is clean, it has comfortable beds, a good shower and close to the airport. However, the front door is a wee bit difficult to find and PLEASE - if you are leaving a hotel for an early flight - be conscience of the noise you make, not the hotels fault but I awoke twice
Review 34:Quieter than other and more costly hotels I have stayed in in Cassino - no coach loads of tourists waking me at 4.30 am to catch early morning flights! Airport bus times posted in reception - just a 7 or 8 minute walk to bus stop.
Review 35:Very basic rooms, hard to find the entrance which is the door of a residential looking building, taxi to the airport costs 20euros
Review 36:Proximity to airport esp.for very early flights
Review 37:There was construction going on to the floor rooms above us. Hotel staff could have moved us as the hotel was not fully occupied, but they chose to act indifferent to the situation. Pounding, hammering, saw...the the plaster from the ceiling started to fall & we ended up with dust & dirt all over us & our things. Hotel is in desperate need to upkeep. The cleaning lady though, bless her, tries very hard to keep the rooms & common areas spotless.
Review 38:Excellent location, quiet neighborhood town.
Review 39:The shower room is small. The amount of plugs is not enough. The common toilet is not very clean and smelly.
Review 40:Hardly to find one. The location can make do.
Review 41:Only 1 out of the 2 plugs worked in the room - that of the bathroom. It would have been more convenient if the one above the bed worked! *P.S THE AIRPORT BUSES DON'T RUN ON SUNDAYS AND ON OTHER HOLIDAYS.
Review 42:It was extremely easy to find. Got down from the Atral bus which I took from the airport (platform 4, paid 1,20€) and got off at the Train Station of Ciampino bus-stop. From there I crossed the street and walked in the Via Francesco D'assisi for about 2 minutes till I found number 68.Turned right in the complex of buildings and found the hotel sign next to a door at the end of the corridor on the right. My room was No 104.It had a mini fridge that worked, a flat screen TV, a wardrobe, a desk, a chair, a telephone, a night lamp and a bed which was much bigger than a single bed. The mattress was just right, the sheet and pillows were very clean and the bathroom though simple and not the newest was clean too.It also had a hair-drier. I didn't feel bad at any point of my visit, I was quite relieved to have found a clean and comfortable room after all the controversial comments I had read.Breakfast consisted of warm cruissants, butter, jam, cappuccino coffee, fruit juice, pasta flora and cereal. I had a cappuccino which was far better than the one I paid 5 euros for at Piazza San Pietro! Breakfast cost 3,5 euros and for what they charge it was enough for me. The night sift receptionist is very polite and helpful, seemed a bit distant at first but turned out he is just a bit shy. He speaks good English and if you smile at him a bit he will do his best to help you. You can even have a really nice cappuccino late at night for 1,50€ if you are just too tired from being on the move all day. The sound of planes was not noticeable and didn't affect my sleep (I am NOT a sound sleeper). I did hear a man snoaring from another room bur it wasn't loud, made me feel a bit more secure and at home to be honest ^_^, I felt less alone as I was on the trip by myself. All in all, I would definitely book there again when I go to Rome again. Hopefully for more days!
Review 43:The hotel appears to be also used as a hostel for male persons possibly working locally with rooms shared and occupants watching tv till late. The sound proofing between the rooms and bathrooms is almost non existant and you could hear everything they were doing in the bathrooms and I mean everything. This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stopped in.
Review 44:Very little
Review 45:Wasn't the hotel's fault as such but the taxi that they ordered for me to go to the airport charged me 40 Euros - it is literally 10mins away. I understood that it should have been 20-30 Euros tops. I was disappointed to be ripped off at the end of an otherwise brilliant trip. It was the first and only time that that happened in a whole 10 days.
Review 46:I chose this hotel as close to airport but staff were really helpful, room was simple but comfortable and clean and Sergio very kindly recommended a lovely local restaurant (Il Marchese del Grill) which was filled with locals and I had a wonderful evening there and even though I was alone with my book, I was made to feel very welcome and part of the family :)
Review 47:Part of the shower missing, hence water escaped. No hot water. All bathroom fittings were plastic.Dull and dreary decor. Metal shutters to the patio would not close.
Review 48:The location to the airport.
Review 49:Booked a double and got two single beds pushed together. TV so small hardly worth watching. Bad pillows.
Review 50:Close to train station. Friendly reception staff.
Review 51:The room attendant on a last day ddnt give us a new towel in the room and from the other day I have to use towel again was tear apart and old towel...
Review 52:It's near to place I would like to go...
Review 53:Hotel emailed wrong timetable for bus from rome ciampino airport. Which left us stranded for 1 hour 30 minutes at 10.30pm at night. Directions to hotel were very bad, we had to trouble a local pizzeria owner which was just closed to ask directions. A sign on the street would be advisable. When I mentioned this to the man who checked us in he asked me to address him in Italian as we were in Italy now, which is true, but I'd imagine an international hotel which advertised itself as perfect for airport stopovers, English would be an acceptable form of communication.
Review 54:Clean hotel room Short walk to the bus stop for the airport, but don't trust the hotels bus timetable from the airport to the train station.
Review 55:The bed stank had to sleep with my jacket on as it stank and use a t-shirt as a pillow case, the room was very very dated, there was a strong smell of swig in the room, we came at night and it was very hard to find, it took a strange italian lady from the street to nock on a few doors for us and another set of poor guests to find the hotel.
Review 56:Closeness to the bus stop, the shower was hot, easy to communicate with staff, free wifi, 24hour checking in, good hairdrier according to my wife
Review 57:The bar did not have much choice of drinks. No beakers or glasses in the room.
Review 58:Excellent size room and we'll equipped bathroom. Very clean. Excellent location within walking distance to railway station.
Review 59:The corridor a bit noisy in the mornings. The hotel is a bit hide, they need a luminous name of the hotel at the main door.
Review 60:Room completely equipped (fridge, TV, air conditioner). The balcon was very convenient for smokers.
Review 61:Excellent location, very close to the train station, very easy to find, clean good size room, big bed, nice bathroom and balcony! Very close to the airport with shuttle bus only 2-3 min walk from the hotel for 1.50 euro.
Review 62:The hotel is a bit hard to find as it is situated in a big apartment block and the sign is a bit covered by a tree which makes it hard to see from the road. But the local people are happy to show you where to find it!
Review 63:A perfect hotel for a cheap stay close to Rome Ciampino airport! Just a 3 minute walk away you find the train station where regular trains leave to Rome city centre (Termini) for just 1,50 euro in only 14 minutes.
Review 64:Had a hard time finding the entrance to the hotel, it wasn't well-lit in the galleria so we walked right by it. The room was minimalistic. Bed and pillows were not comfortable, air conditioner worked (which was appreciated!) but left a large puddle underneath. Also was woken up at 4:30 by what sounded like the cleaning crew..not sure if that was with the hotel or with the neighbors though.
Review 65:The receptionist was lovely. Very welcoming and accommodating, helped us with the room and WiFi and answered our questions about the area and about Rome.
Review 66:The queen sized bed was 2 twin beds pushed together. The toliet seat lid was broken. The shower was extremely small. Also fairly noisy at night.
Review 67:The wifi worked well and it was relatively easy to find. The ac worked great. Only accessible from the airport via taxi. They did secure a transport for the morning for my early flight.
Review 68:The shower doors fell off. The light fittings fell off. The hotel was difficult to find, through an unlit corridor. Breakfast was basic.
Review 69:The reception was helpful
Review 70:not the best looking hotel but for couple of nights is good enough, didnt like the colours of the walls coz it made the room look dirty, the location is near the station and the airport but the neighborhood didnt look safe enough
Review 71:very good service, the guys at the reception were very helpful and nice, big room, good air conditioning, cheap, its location is near to ciampino station
Review 72:Bed comfort, aged building and equipment, not enough towels available, shower door was broken and the water was splitting outside the shower.
Review 73:Location staff wifi balcony
Review 74:The shower head was at a really awkward place on the wall and I kept hitting my head on it while I was showering (I'm 5"6). The shower also didn't drain very well and I had to shut it off while I was showering so the water didn't flood the bathroom.
Review 75:The room was fairly spacious and had it's own balcony. It was only a short walk from the train station where you can catch a train into the centre of Rome or get a bus to the airport.
Review 76:Room was very tired. Lamps hanging off, soap dish hanging down and stained curtains. Tiny TV and view from balcony was awful (minor things). Breakfast was advertised as included but 3 Euros for cereal, juice/coffee and dry bread; poor. Decided against it.
Review 77:Very nice staff, helpful, polite and courteous. Underground parking was reassuringly secure. Great location near station and nice bars nearby.
Review 78:Area it's located does not feel safe. Wouldn't like Arriving late at night. Also fridge wasn't plugged in which sucked!
Review 79:The free wifi was fast air con was amazing and room was best we'd stayed at.
Review 80:Staff were indifferent. Room was poorly decorated and looked a bit tacky. Bathroom was awful with cracked toilet seat. Not a good experience.
Review 81:Location close to the station was good but a little difficult to find.
Review 82:location
Review 83:Usually the rooms and the beds are ok (not too well maintained but ok). This time we were given a very worn out room with very old pillows (the wool was actually coming out from the pillow cover). The hotel is very convenient x the location but I would not mind paying a bit more for a better room provision.
Review 84:Shower was a bit old/small.
Review 85:It's small hotel, but nice and clean, friendly staff, good wi-fi. Personally, I really liked the location. It's super convenient for Ciampino airport (we had an early flight home with Ryanair) with a cheap and quick (1.5 euros, 10 minutes) bus connection to Ciampino train station, followed by a leisurely 5 minutes walk. But we found it worked well for Rome and Castel Gandolfo (and Lake Albano) too as there are good, regular, inexpensive train connections to both (1.5 euros, 15 minutes to Rome, 30 minutes to Castel Gandolfo). We had our morning coffee at a little cafe, Quantum, on our way to the station, and a great pizza one evening at Pizza Party, all at local prices rather than Rome's tourist prices. Overall, we had a super little budget break for a long weekend, and it's tough to beat Rome/Castel Gandolfo.
Review 86:Nothing... For the money the place is worth every cent.
Review 87:We stayed here because we had a 6am flight out of Ciampino. It seems that all the other people staying here were in the same situation. It seems not so great when you walk in but the rooms are super clean and the bed is comfortable. AC works great and the staff is friendly. If you have an early flight they will get you a taxi in the morning (we left at 4:30am) and they are great about organizing it so that you go with other guests and save money. We paid 5€ per person and it takes less than 10 minutes. There are also great Italian restaurants within a few minutes walk.
Review 88:Everything was exelent. Considering, its level, I had no complaint! :) We had a good bed, wifi, fridge, aircondition. No more I was expecting for. :)
Review 89:The Terravision airport bus stop for "Ciampino town" was in the middle of nowhere! However, thanks to the location map I had printed and a couple of dogwalkers, I found the way.
Review 90:Very helpful staff organizing a taxi for me to share with other guests as the flight was too early for buses.
Review 91:There was no AC in the room, even though the description lists AC. The window faces the internal stairs so any guest walking up and down can see inside the room.
Review 92:Convenient location if you have an early flight out of Chiampino.
Review 93:We waited for an hour for a taxi at Ciampino. We would have liked to walk to the hotel but were told it was a bad neighborhood. (This is not the hotel's fault, of course.) The bedspread wasn't entirely clean. It was adequate lodging, but not nice.
Review 94:The staff were lovely, they didn't actually charge me for breakfast (although it was supposed to be 3.50 each), there was free wi-fi, and it was close to the Ciampino airport.
Review 95:Hotel was extremely clean and comfortable. We were able to get all the help and information we needed to get to the airport next morning. Great value!
Review 96:You can make a mistake when you see the hotel's location on Google Maps. It is not near the airport. I must pay 20eur for the taxi to go to the hotel. However, after that, the receptionist tell me the way to go to the airport (by bus and cost 1.2eur). I think it is still a good choice if you need to go to the airport soon in the morning. To go to the hotel from Ciampino airport, you should take the bus to go to Ciampino train station, then walk for 3 minutes to reach the hotel.
Review 97:The staff is nice. The hotel is near the train station.
Review 98:Hotel is close to Ciampino airport, but... terminal is on opposit side of runway, so, it's not possible to reach it by foot and, if you have early plane, prepare fixed price- 20 EUR for taxi for ~8 minutes ride.
Review 99:Location close to Ciampino railway station (just 15 min to Rome Termini station by train).
Review 100:Has a weird smell, like someone smoked inside. Similar to students dormitories. Cleanliness is questionable. Not that close to the airport and no busses re going there spend 45€ extra on taxi. I would rather spent it on a better hotel. Total experience - very bad.
Review 101:Nothing
Review 102:Although close to the airport, it is impossible to reach directly and involves a 25euro taxi ride as you have to go right around the perimeter of the airport to get to the hotel. Walking would take well over an hour. Hotel is in a strange location and even though the taxi driver pointed me in the right direction, the entrance was unclear with arriving late at night.
Review 103:close to the train station to get into Rome
Review 104:There wasn't really any hot water, warm but not hot.
Review 105:The location close to Ciampino train station is great. We stayed for a night to catch a flight early the next morning. A cheap shuttle bus runs from outside the train station.
Review 106:Hard to get to airport at night (5 km walk, 25 euros with taxi, bus trips starts only at 6 AM)
Review 107:Someone in Italy actually knows English language. Room was quite nice, but it didnt have balcony as it said on voucher.
Review 108:The taxi we asked, it costed too much (20 euro for 5 mins ride to the airport). Fortunately we shared with other people but probably it was ridiculously too much even for the early morning ride. You should call taxi yourself...
Review 109:It was very close to the Ciampino station and to the airport. Recommended for people who are catching early flights. The front desk people are helpful. Asked for a taxi and it was easily done. There is a small but god pizza restaurant near by.
Review 110:You think you are close to the airport? You are actually in the middle of nowhere. You are trapped. Taxi to airport at night costs 25 euro for about 1 km! No way to walk....no lights ..no sidewalk...no access! Very dirty city. Big mess. Hotel old, depressing. Never again.
Review 111:nothing bad.
Review 112:beautiful room with an amazing view high over lake gandolfo. a nice happy welcome from the only member of staff that we met while we stayed.
Review 113:The shower was tiny! And the beds were really hard. We had a hard time finding the front door.
Review 114:We only really slept here as a stop before the airport and it was perfect for that. It's small, but for a place to crash with easy free access to the airport it worked!
Review 115:The only thing I have to say is that they do the payment automatically with the credit card with which you make the booking... without asking if you rather paying cash. But it seems to be a rule of the hotel when you book just for one night...
Review 116:We are so satisfied with the service of the hotel. The boy of the Reception (unfortunately, we don't know his name) couldn't be more kind. When we ask him for a taxi for the next morning, he told us that other people were going to the airport as the same time, so we could share the trip with them.
Review 117:Very easy to get to from airport (1.20 euro, 5mins, bus at stand 2, pay on the bus), 5mins walk from bus stop / train station (same place), very easy to get into rome centre (1.50 euro, 15 mins on train, trains every 20mins running both ways until midnight. Hotel is exactly what you would want for the price, simple and clean.
Review 118:Toilet seat slid around while using it, shower basin almost overflowed, elevator was at the top of a flight of stairs! Difficult to find.
Review 119:Price, had an espresso made by the night clerk (shhh!)
Review 120:We spent quite a bit of time trying to find the hotel, right under the board! We found the board easily, but there was no indication that we had to go into a residential looking apartment and the floor number etc. More directions would help.
Review 121:Close to the train station and 5 mins by taxi to the airport. Reasonably clean room. Friendly staff. We arrived in the night and left early morning. So dint get a chance to look around the hotel. Perfect if you have to catch an early morning flight from Ciampino airport.
Review 122:One of us had room 119 which had the air conditioner outside the window and it was very noisy. Avoid that room!
Review 123:The reception person friendly and helpful. Room clean and quiet.
Review 124:fridge didn't work. balcony shutter only opened 2 foot so you had to crawl out onto the balcony. Pillow made of cotton wool complete waste of time. walls needed painting and room very shabby.
Review 125:handy for airport, has parking as it is impossible to park on the road.Bathroom was excellent
Review 126:The rooms had such thin walls you could hear everything! Theemployees used the balcony chairs during breakfast..would've beennice to offer them to the guests. Would be nice if maps wereavailable for guests.
Review 127:The nice night staff let us print our rYan air boarding passes.
Review 128:For one night it's good. Not more. Nothing to see in Ciampino. In Ciampino if u decide to go for a walk nobody speak english if u want to ask something or to find some place.
Review 129:It was clean, close to Ciampino airport, good wifi. From airport u must to go bus line number 2, then to wait bus till Ciampino., u must go out from the second stop. Its very close
Review 130:Assigned room next to front desk so noisy. Old furniture and very flat pillows but you get what you pay for. Would still go back.
Review 131:Convenient location and great value. Friendly staff who do speak English. English speakers need to speak clearly and slowly. $3 breakfast great value.
Review 132:Despite of the fact that hotel is not far from the airport, there are no option to get there by foot. Only taxi (EUR15-20) or train/bus (EUR 1.20) in the working hours. Not convinient for early/late flight.
Review 133:No lamp in the room (only a table lamp). Entrance hard to find (it's a door like any other doors at a common building!). There's noise but not from outside, only from corridor and nearby rooms. Location is NOT that close. You can't just go in foot cause you have to go round, this is about 4,5 km and not 0,5 km as it is advertised. To arrive to the airport you can get the shuttle (first one passes about 06:00 (too late!) or a "taxi" (fake) set by the hotel which costs 20 euro (in case of more persons they set minibus for 30 euros).
Review 134:Clean, friendly staff, wifi
Review 135:Easy to reach hotel from the airport (5 minutes and only 1,2 eur), train station only 5 minutes away and from there you can reach roma city centre for 1,5 eur and it takes only 15 minutes. Pleasent personal and clean hotel. Best if you travel for few days to Rome.
Review 136:Nothing much - it was little confusing where the reception was located (for other travellers : reception is on the first floor)
Review 137:Very clean and neat room - spacious enough to accomodate a family of 6.Located close to the rail station (3 min walk), it is near to many restuarants and pizzareas....
Review 138:all: bathroom was ridicolous and old equipment (doors of the shower falling apart!), bad noises from outside all night long, commong spaces absolutely not adequate to a 3 stars.
Review 139:nothing
Review 140:no instructions how to get there from Termini train station. Misread it as an airport hotel BUT it is not possible to walk to hotel. Taxi was still 20 euros.
Review 141:Location to airport and into Rome on excellent train service within 15 mins. Room ok. You got what you paid for
The Fine Print
Please note that Ciampino Airport can be reached only by car or bus.
