Reviews for Residenza d'Epoca Pietra Di Ponente
Review 1:That we did not have more time to stay.
Review 2:The staff was incredibly nice. Francesca made it unbeatable and our driver Muhammed was very courteous and accomodating.
Review 3:Not ideal having to go outside to our room with baby and upstairs with pram etc
Review 4:food was delicious, staff were lovely, uniquely designed hotel and very nice grounds
Review 5:A car is necessary if you don't want to depend on the hotel for transfers to/from train station/airport etc
Review 6:Staff, especially Sara, were very friendly and welcoming; Short drive to Ciampino airport; Breakfast & dinner were great; lovely views from the hotel & gardens
Review 7:Lovely outdoor spaces with a great view; very comfortable beds; friendly and welcoming staff who work hard to make your stay comfortable; good food in the restaurant and an excellent breakfast; convenient for the airport and a very handy shuttle service. Excellent value!
Review 8:A beautiful place to stay very helpful staff. The room we stayed was a suit and the only word to describe it is 5* quality, the bed was fantastic, comfortable and A/C lovely. A lovely clean room. We had dinner there and man what another surprise. Overlooking Rome outside we had a memorable meal. Thank you all for a fantastic stay, a lovely experience our first night in Rome
Review 9:No swimmingpool
Review 10:Friendliness of staff Made a BIG mistake with my booking. They changed it without a problem. Fantastic in house dinner at terrace with view on Roma. Beautiful property
Review 11:Was very relaxing especially as we were picked up from Ciampino airport at no cost and hotel was only about 10 or 15 minutes away. Will return and use as a base to go into Rome.
Review 12:Great evening meal, but breakfast needs a rethink! Not really an adequate offering.
Review 13:Sitting on the terrace watching the sun set over Rome, with a glass of wine in hand. Perfect end to our holiday
Review 14:I think there was no Wifi in the room and the breakfast could have had more options for non-Italians (Italian specialties were great though)
Review 15:We liked everything - great place to stay around Ciampino.
Review 16:it was all good.
Review 17:We loved the staff and the meals. We only stayed one night and our daughter was ill but they took very good care of us and made us welcome. I'd love to go there again under happier circumstances. (And it's moments away from Ciampino.)
Review 18:We arrived quite late but the staff were very pleasant and helpful! The free shuttle service is fantastic and our room was magnificent with incredible views of Rome! A wonderful hotel!
Review 19:The room as big and very comfortable. Accessible for many places, as close to The Via Appia, and Ciampini Airport, as well as to the ring road to Leonardo Da Vinci Airport. Very clean and serviced daily. the restaurant where you can eat other meals (breakfast is included) is good, and they will do things at your request, if you want something different. Plus they will take you to the local airport and station if you want.
Review 20:Staff were brilliant very helpful , hotel was beautiful in a lovley location , rooms were spotless , very comfortable , shuttle service was great , will definatley return
Review 21:Very difficult to find the hotel even with gps. As you head towards thestation, there's a driveway on the left which splits into 3 separatedrives. The hotel is the middle one. It's about 700m before thestation (the station is where the road swings to the right at the bottomof the hill). It's worth the struggle to find!!! We didn't haveany tea or coffee facilities in the room but we did have a fridge.
Review 22:It was a wonderful place to relax after a busy day seeing the sights ofRoma. The train is a couple of minutes away and there's a freeshuttle from the hotel to the station. Staff were amazing and incrediblyhelpful. The room was large, clean and comfortable. Outside, there'sa dining area overlooking the city where you can relax and have a glassor 2 of wine. We'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyonevisiting Roma.
Review 23:No bad experience. Small suggestion - maybe the use of a small, comfortable guest lounge to enjoy a coffee in if travelling as a group? Or while waiting for shuttle service, rather than hanging around at the reception area.
Review 24:Beautiful peaceful location with stunning views over Rome. Welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. Excellent free shuttle service and travel advice/support. Lovely food. Wonderful waitress! Packed lunch service very useful. Free bottles of water in room fridges very welcome. Easy and cheap travel to Rome by train.
Review 25:Mayby the breakfest could be a little more interesting, but was not bed.
Review 26:All, place, close to Rome, with shutle form airport, parking, comfortable rooms, magical view, parking, free wi fi, and very good kitchen for a dinner in restaurant. And the staff - excellent! Friendly and helpfull.
Review 27:Sara, Francesco(two of them) and Marco could not have been better...they would do ANYTHING for you. Any food was NO problem, even if it was not on the menu. Take you to the station to catch the train to Rome(15mins), and pick you up at the end of the day. Although you are near the Ciampino airport you do not hear the planes. I would recommend this place to EVERYONE
Review 28:There is no barrier between front desk & restaurant so sound bounces off the walls. Lady at front desk needs to work on her "bedside manner."
Review 29:Get good map & directions before you start if you are driving. Was actually not far from the airport and a quick drive early in the morning. We left before breakfast so can't comment on that. My husband had an excellent steak for dinner & the gnocchi was also delicious.
Review 30:The restaurant on site is a bit pricey. Totally reliant on the shuttle service to go anywhere, although the service was very good.
Review 31:The room was excellent, we had a junior suite where the bedroom is upstairs. Very clean room and helpful staff.
Review 32:The staff were friendly and accommodating, allowing us to leave our luggage well before check-in time. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was good. The evening meal was delicious too. Good wines on offer. Perfect for our purpose which was to be close to the airport for a morning flight and also for a trip to the ancient port of Ostia.
Review 33:Staff was extremely helpful, restaurant was delicious - shuttle from airport and next morning to train station helped us have such a relaxing first night in Italy. We traveled w our 8m old and they even had a crib w full bedding set up when we arrived
Review 34:No television connections.
Review 35:Cleanliness, decor, staff and restaurant were excellent. Great place to stop over for a night if you don't want to head into Rome.
Review 36:The hotel was gorgeous with amazing staff. Very helpful. Drove us to stations in shuttle bus and dropped and picked us up from airport. Rooms where very clean and tidy. View is amazing.
Review 37:The hotel was very clean and the rooms were spacious. The staff was friendly and helpful. We only stayed one night before our cruise departed, but the hotel was very close to Ciampino airport. Beautiful views of Rome!
Review 38:rooms are quirky given that the hotel was a former farm, so a bit hit and miss on size etc, however i would not be put off by this as most Ciampino hotels are in the 2 star variety and our experience at this hotel has been our best so far.
Review 39:The restaurant is excellent and worth staying at the Rezidenza just for the dinner experience. Hotel also provides a complimentary shuttle service to/from airport and railway station which is very useful.
Review 40:Restaurants are far from hotel Wifi is dial up slow No in room coffee
Review 41:Quiet semi rural setting Friendly helpful staff Unique facilities in old winery Comfortable beds Great view Free shuttle to train
Review 42:Mapquest gets you to the road but 'found it tricky to find the place.... look for the brow of a small hill where 3 tracks go off to the left and take the middle one.... if you get to the 90' corner - you have gone too far...
Review 43:Beautiful comfortable rooms with stylish en-suite. Very comfortable bed. Handy for Ciampino airport. Staff helpful and spoke excellent English. Breakfast was unusual...
Review 44:The courtesy drop off location for the train into Rome. One is dropped on a side street and told to go through the bushes and walk across the tracks, where it clearly says, "No crossing the tracks" to access the train stop. There is no ticket office so one purchases a ticket from the hotel. It would be good for the staff to let their guests know, they must get their ticket validated in the machine at the stop before boarding the train. Because we did not want to go through crossing the tracks and meeting the shuttle behind the bushes in the dark, we took a taxi back from Rome Center. Big mistake. Cost nearly 100 Euro. If you need to do that, take the taxi to the airport only for 35 Euro and ask shuttle to come meet you there.
Review 45:It's proximity to Ciampino and the shuttle service. We arrived late on Monday and had not eaten on our Ryan air flight. The restaurant was closed as was the nearby Pizzeria. The man on duty, opened a bottle of wine and sliced some potatoes with oil on them and microwaved them for us. That was generous. Nice spread at breakfast.
Review 46:Inattentive breakfast service. TV didn't work.
Review 47:Good location near Ciampino airport. Impressive building nicely renovated. Big rooms. Good value for money. Helpful reception.
Review 48:Couldn't get the wifi to work in the room.
Review 49:Felt like the countryside. Big inexpensive rooms. They drove me to Ciampino station when i checked out which was nice.
Review 50:Breakfast was a bit basic, could have done with a bit more variety but apart from that nothing not to dislike.
Review 51:Only less than 25 mins away from Rome. Friendliness of staff. Beautiful scenery. Free shuttle service to and from the nearby train station.
Review 52:We enjoyed our first stay here so much that we went back - unfortunately not sure we will do that again. The lady who checked us in was very brusque / unhelpful and the staff in the restaurant at night clearly just wanted us to leave (they couldn't wait for people to finish eating before trying to clear plates and went out of their way to avoid offering us dessert or coffee). Eventually we gave up, although it was only at 9.00pm. A pity because other members of staff were very pleasant.
Review 53:Beautiful location if a bit difficult to find the first time you visit. The building and the rooms are lovely, the gardens (and view of Rome) beautiful. Very tranquil.
Review 54:We called for pick up from the train and to reserve for dinner and the restaurant was closed without notice. Thank goodness we were in Ciampino and found Re Artu it was a great place for our last meal in Rome!! Also didn't like that the wifi was very weak
Review 55:The food was amazing!! The walnut pesto I had twice. The staff was friendly and helpful, The rooms were great.
Review 56:A little difficult to find by car but sat nav did sort it out
Review 57:This hotel is situated not very far from caimponi airport and is served by the hotel shuttle service. The location is superb and give you the chance to relax away from the bustle of the city
Review 58:Everything was perfect. This is the only place I stay when I come to Rome. The hotel offers to pick you up/drop you off at the airport and it's quick. The location is very close to the airport. The train station to Rome is right down the street from the hotel. The hotel took us to/from the train station and to a local restaurant when the hotel's kitchen was closed. The staff is excellent. Rooms are very nice/comfortable with a amazing view. The breakfast/dinner was good. There is a very beautiful Italian woman with gorgeous dark hair that works at the front desk. I think I'm going to ask her to marry me on my next visit. Seriously. I look forward to my next stay.
Review 59:We did have difficulty finding the hotel, even with sat nav! The hotel needs more distinct signage.
Review 60:Our one night stay here was just what we wanted, a clean comfortable room with a comfortable bed, near the airport. We also had a fridge and air con in the room. Staff were friedly and helpful. Breakfast was good with a wide selection. Very good value.
Review 61:Better soaps (it was a strech to come up with something we didn't like!!!).
Review 62:Friendly, helpful Staff. Most spoke or understood English, and were very accommodating. The restaurant was wonderful. A good selection of regional cuisine, and a very reasonably priced, albeit small, wine list. The location is good (near Ciampino Airport, and the Sassone Train Station) and the views and grounds are georgous. We will return!
Review 63:Breakfeast was basic; wifi device didn't work for us. We had 2 big bags and there was no lift to bring the bags upstairs. I would stay at this hotel again though.
Review 64:We used this hotel as we needed somewhere to stay close to the airport as we had an early flight. Exactly a 10 minute drive from the airport; lovely room; free shuttle; dinner at hotel was nice. good place to stay.
Review 65:My wife did not like much the smell of the room. This is a kind of smell, little moisture and oldness. This is definetely not due to the bad conditions of the room, but it is more due to general decoration concept of the hotel. It might be hard to find the place even with a GPS device.
Review 66:The garden surrounding the main building is great. Nice large room with plenty of space. I like that owners bought an old vinery house and turned it into an hotel.
Review 67:Very little; breakfast 'good' rather than 'excellent'.
Review 68:Beautiful building, lovely rooms, lots of wonderful outdoor space to enjoy, great views of Rome, lovely evening meal in the restaurant.
Review 69:Air con being broken in July and no availability of a fan or help to open windows. Breakfast was really bad.
Review 70:They collect you crom the airport or in my case, I followed them in my hire car. Dining room staff. Supper. Views.
Review 71:The flying ants on the terrace, but was not a fault from the hotel. It was late at night & they were attracted to the lamps.
Review 72:Closeness to the airport, the free transport,to & from the hotel. The room was excellent.
Review 73:Smelled a bit damp in room but we opened windows and was not a very big issue. Also, not much to do in area but we really didn't need anything either.
Review 74:Loved location very close to airport. Would definitely stay again if had to leave early or arrive late from Ciampino. Showers were great. Very clean and very nice breakfast with croissants, eggs, cheese and cold cuts. Great value for price and kids had big bed upstairs while we slept on the lower floor.
Review 75:We relaxed for a day at end of our holiday whilst waiting for evening flight. Guests might benefit from some midday snack availability, sandwiches etc
Review 76:This hotel is a gem. Tranquil and pleasant surroundings. Our evening meal on outdoor patio overlooking Rome was exceptional. You would need a car if you intended to roam far from the hotel as it is somewhat remote but that is what we wanted.
Review 77:Very hard to find due to road works . Do not try to find the hotell with the help of GPS. Call the hotel and ask them to meet you in a close by petrol station or similar We didn´t get information that the AC was out of order in all the hotel rooms on arrival. We needed to change room to get it a little bit less hot.
Review 78:The view over the hills of Rom. English speaking staff.
Review 79:Stayed here for one night as we had an early flight the next morning. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Location was excellent - 10 minute drive to Ciampino Airport, 2 minute drive to train which gets you into Rome's Termini Station in 20 minutes (staff even dropped us to the station and collected us later that evening). Much better to stay here in such an interesting place with beautiful views than an airport hotel. We certainly hope to be back for a longer stay.
Review 80:Very nice hotel with a larger room than you might expect in Europe. We needed to leave very early (4:15 a.m.!) for a flight and the driver met us out front on time and with a smile! Annalisa recommended a great restaurant within walking distance that we really enjoyed. A very pleasant last night in Italy!
Review 81:Our fault not speaking Italian but poss an English translation on menu
Review 82:Friendliness shuttle service from airport and adjusting evening menu to provide an omelette for grandma
Review 83:Didn't realize it was so remote
Review 84:We were leaving Itay going on to Slovakia on Ryan Air. It only goes out of Ciampino airport. We wanted a hotel close by. That's why we picked this place. Real country vineyard like charm. Manager was really nice. Drove us himself to catch the plane. Good food
Review 85:Location to airport
Review 86:Difficult to find. Unfriendly staff, uncomfortable rooms
Review 87:for 7 days staying the breafast was poor, sometimes no fresh bread - just toast
Review 88:Daily cleaning, interior and exterior, safety
Review 89:Very friendly staff. Free shuttle from airport and to train station. Restaurant onsite very good. Lovely buffet breakfast.
Review 90:The noise insulation from one room to next one is not effective.
Review 91:People very kind. Food very good. Not far from airport but generally quiet
Review 92:Great view over Rome. Good restaurant. Will shuttle you to and from Chiampino
Review 93:This hotel was in a good spot if using Ciampino airport. Good food comfortable room ,clean and a free shuttle bus. I would stay again.
